I don’t know too much about sushi and sushi prices, but this place a bit expensive. All I got was a simple bowl of chicken fried rice and it was like $15 and it was boring and bland. However everyone else I was with were more adventurous and got all sorts of stuff and they all seemed to really enjoy it. Our sever was very nice and mostly on top of things. If you’re into sushi and Japanese food in general and don’t mind higher prices then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this place.

I really enjoyed this place, as it has a great vibe and a great menu. There’s sushi and Tonkatsu and unagi, all traditionally done. And the hibachi grill never disappoints. I tried 5 nigiri, and they were decent, as it’s hard to beat the taste of sushi after living in Japan. The fried rice is fantastic, and anything from the grill is delicious. Even if you’re not sitting in front of the grill you can still order it from your table. I would recommend making a reservation as it can get packed.

Waited 45 mins for a waiter @4 on a Wed.Manager walked past us several times. Waiter apologized and still messed up our order. Added a large party gratuity for 5 people and refused to give a detailed receipt. Someone in our party left their phone at the table and they denied finding it. After proving that the phone was pinging there it magically showed up drowned in water. This place is a scam stay away.

I would like to say the only good thing about this place was the chef cooking our meal. As soon as he got done cooking for us the waiter handed us boxes so we could box up our own food and leave. He also brought me a togo refill on my drink instead of bringing me a refill to stay. It was before 9pm. He also told me my son (who chose to have hibachi for his birthday dinner) he couldn't have dessert because the kitchen was closed. This was all before 9pm when the restaurant closed. I asked him if it was a customary practice to push out patrons as soon as they got their meal. His response was yes because they were closing. I was very disappointed in the service there and will not be back. Oh yeah, also as we were trying to get a couple of bites in before we left a person came and started cleaning the stove top. Very unprofessional and I don't believe this establishment values their customers. I am also a server at restaurant. I've never not left a tip for a server, I usually tip at least 30%, I did not tip this server because going home was more important than the guest enjoying their experience. What a huge let down. We were sat a little more than an hour before closing time too.

Came in for dinner for our sons birthday. As soon as we got our dinner the server brought out to go boxes. When we asked about dessert he said the kitchen was closed. Still had 5minutes before closing. When we asked he said it was closed by 9 and we needed to leave. Amazing cook, horrible server. Definitely will be going someplace else from now on.

We enjoyed the Miso Soup that was very flavorful and a great way to start our lunch. The Gyoza appetizer was crispy on the outside and had a center filled with steamed and flavorful meat. The Ecuador Sushi roll was chock full of fresh tuna and vegetables, and heat from the jalapeño added another level of flavor. It tasted great with the sauce, and it tasted even better with the Wasabi. We all ordered Hibachi entrees. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon, my son ordered Teriyaki Chicken, and I ordered the Grilled Calamari. The chef gave us our vegetables and rice first. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, as was the Fried Rice. The one problem was that there was far too much fried rice on our plates. Overall, the food was outstanding, and thecservicecwas top notch.

I have to rate this place low because of the harassment to give up our booth. I was with a friend whom I don't see often, we just paid a $75 tab and are sitting and talking while we finish our adult beverage. First a lady walks to our booth stares at us twice and then on the 3rd time ask if we need anything else. Mind you there are probably 10 empty tables around us. Then next a man comes and passively aggressive asked if we need anything else, because people are waiting for a booth. Well guess they will be getting a table today. The food was decent enough but if I'm paying you a $75 bill, you just rented me that booth for at least an hour or three. Now if the place was packed I might have said let's take out conversation somewhere else but it was not packed and it was a rainy day. I'll never go back to this place for this passive aggressive treatment only. Do better!

Absolutely AWFUL all the way around. If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. The waiter, Vladimir, was horrendous. He was incredibly rude from the moment we were seated at the hibachi table. He had an attitude while we ordered and once he got the order, never came back with drinks etc. We went during lunch and ordered 1 lunch meal, and 1 dinner meal. The dinner portion was smaller than all of the lunch portions that were served at the table. So essentially, the value here is complete trash, too. Additionally, once we asked for a different server due to being treated terribly, the server began yelling at my sister from across the table, in front of other guest. Once the cook finally came out to cook (close to an hour after ordering) he was awful! He was incredibly rude, had an awful attitude and at one point when asked my sister if she was a stripper!! This was not only in front of her baby who was with us, but also in front of another family who also had a young child with them. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told "he had to step out somewhere" but the lead chef came over to talk to us instead. Once I explained the situation, he shared with us that it wasn't the first complaint they had received on these men THE SAME DAY, even! Once we paid out bills, the manager magically appeared to ask what had happened. We explained to him the situation and he looked embarrassed and said that he would be taking care of it, but that was the end of it. He didn't do anything to try to make the situation right, which I honestly don't think he could've at that point anyways, but I highly recommend you avoid this place. There are too many great sushi and hibachi places in town to ever go to this place. I highly recommend Kyushu off Hurstbourne or Fuji in Springhurst, among many other great options in the area, but Sake Blue doesn't deserve anyone's business. I'll certainly never be back and I've shared this with several others who have said they won't ever visit here again either. It's unfortunate but I'll spend my money where it is deserved, earned, and appreciated. Not somewhere that treats you as an inconvenience, and like they can't wait for you to just shut up and leave. Yikes. I don't know how this place is still in business but I'd imagine they won't be for much longer, if this is how they treat their customers. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here!!

This was my first time experience trying Sake Blue. My son has told me about it a few times, so he took me out for Mother's Day dinner. I ordered the steak and chicken Hibachi with vegetables and rice. It also came with a chicken broth soup, and a salad with ginger dressing. The ginger dressing is fantastic! The food was amazing!! The restaurant was very crowded, but the service was excellent. Everything came out hot and delicious. We will be going again soon! 😋😋😋

We had ordered 12 sushi rolls for 7 of us(4 adults, 3 kids). All ranging from $18 to $22. Only averaging 5 slices per roll. Portions are about average compared to the place where we usually go to. Most rolls are overly sweet with too much sauce on them. We left there half full with our ticket being over $250 after 18% gratuity. Overall portion-to-price ratio was low. And very low lighting inside. Barely could see what's on the table. First and last time.

I took my nephew to Sake Blue for his birthday and we had a comedian for the chef He was cracking jokes as he was cooking on food. It was kind of funny because he was making fun of some of the people that were there. But all in all, my nephew enjoyed his birthday dinner and we had a very Good night. The chef made us laugh and R food was delicious. Couldn't get any better than that.Because god blesses us to go to Sake Blue. If you have never been to Sake Blue You need to try every bit of what they say Go get you some.It is really really delicious and amazing and comfortable and awesome and just full of laughter.

Me and husband came here for a date night. Walked in, wasn’t greeted for almost 10 minutes. Our sever once we were seated was moving quickly. Never once had an empty drink. Food was so good, we’ve never been disappointed with it here. Atmosphere was loud, and it had the smell of old cleaning rags like a school cafeteria. Don’t know if I’d eat inside again but we would for sure get carry out.

Pros: New York steak (rare) was excellent. Teriyaki Salmon was good. Rice, vegetables, salad and soup was delicious. Chef was very polite and made sure all orders were corrected before cooking. Hostess was very polite and fast. Cons: Waiting table had prior spilt drink that was not cleaned during our wait. Waitress had two long hairs fall onto my plate while reaching over to hand person beside me their soup/salad. She also delivered see through coke and dr. Pepper to a party at our table and had their orders incorrect. All the meats were stored on the bottom of an uncovered cart they kept by customers & everyone’s feet.

Sake probably has the best decor and aesthetics at a hibachi place in Louisville. They seem to be a tad more expensive but honestly all hibachi tastes the same to me . We went for my daughter birthday. The chef was charismatic and amusing and great at his job. The food was good and they were good at keeping drinks refilled. The only knock I have is that they give off a rushing type of vibe after chef finishes cooking. Most our plates were halfway done when they brought out to go bags and boxes. We came on a Saturday at 7:30 and were seated at 8:30 so maybe that’s why they do that due to rush on weekend. But sushi and hibachi were good.

We go to Sake Blue usually once a month. The service last night was horrible. Kevin, who we seen maybe twice, was our waiter. He forgot my husband's sushi and the manager finally came over and he got his roll when the chef was almost done with out meal. We couldn't get refills and the manager finally came over and got us drinks, our checks and to go boxes. To spend $30 each and the service to be horrible is just unacceptable.

After 7 days, they decided to overdraft my card and add $30 to the bill. After marking out the *tip* of the receipt I tipped hibachi chef $10 and the waitress $20 in cash. I ordered hibachi with rice, NY steak and shrimp, my fiance ordered 3 rolls of sushi after specifically saying she only wanted 2 but we didn't want to make a fuss of it, and then ordered a fried xango cake. We have video proof of the whole night. Portion sizes were tiny, but the food was okay, lexington had a better hibachi for a fraction of the price, only 1 of the rolls of sushi was edible, the other 2 were horrible, and poorly prepared, and that's coming from someone who worked as an Executive Sous Chef at a sushi restaurant in Colorado Springs, Co. Overall experience, horrible, waitress was nice until we tipped her, she seemed like we asked too many questions and didn't even know half of the menu items. I am very disappointed mainly because it was such highly rated. AND JUST REMEMBERING, the lady NEXT to us with her 2 kids had a $112.22 bill and I remember joking you my fiance "well, I guess it could've been worse, we could've paid $112"

Absolute beautiful restaurant with very modern decor and atmosphere. Our server was extremely nice and attentive. We were sat very quickly and our orders were put in shortly after. Sake Blue has a very vast menu of extremely interesting and exotic choices. I plan on going back to try as much as possible. The signature rolls are massive, the rolls may seem expensive when glancing at the menu but when they come out you immediately know you got your moneys worth. Each rolls we got was unique and flavorful. The ginger was wasabi was fresh. Really great restaurant, we do plan on going back soon

I've been coming here for about 10+ years now, and today I had the BEST sushi roll I have ever had in my life. Red Phoenix Roll is what I always get, and its never bad, but today it's like the hand of God made this roll. The fried asparagus was still hot and crispy, the ratio of hot sauce to spicy crab, to cucumber, jalapeño and avocado was nothing less than perfection. Each bite was like biting into my taste buds wildest dream. I'll forever be chasing the deliciousness that was my lunch today. Thank you, and please, keep up the great work. 👍🏻

Madison our waitress was outstanding.my frudbd and I both wanted a mixed cocktail but they don’t serve them tell 3. So mixed us up somethung close to the drunk we wanted. The void is aboustely delicious.

Food is always amazing. Service, 0/10 if I could. Every single time I have been here, I have ordered takeout. And every single time, the person at the counter is RUDE. It hasn’t always been the same person but the little blonde girl I got today, took the cake for being the most rude one yet. Had an attitude from the second I walked in. Was rude when I gave her my name “you had an order for WHAT” was her response. Was rude when I tried handing her my card then THREW my card instead of handing it back to me. At this point, I asked if she had to throw it to which she responded “nobody threw anything” . Had me sign a receipt that she then grabbed off the counter and crumbled up while I stood at the door. Rude rude rude. I understand a bad day. But WOW. Wouldn’t recommend this place if you want good, kind service. I don’t know why I have given it this many chances. What appeared to be the manager brought the food out at which point I expected maybe an apology or even an explanation for such a nasty attitude from her, but nope. Nothing. Hopefully the customers after myself received better service.

I was here for a friend’s birthday - we wondered where to go and this place was decided. I’ve had a lot of memory here… former significant others, my friend’s brother was the sushi was the sushi chef here for some time. Anyways, we did an omakase amid other dishes and they were overall all solid. The omakase exceed both our expectation as the cuts for sashimi was great quality. The steak tatake was decent, not exceptional. The udon was solid as was the fried rice. We felt full leaving and exceeded our expectations for the day.

What a great restaurant in Fern Creek! The atmosphere is very modern and comfortable! We enjoyed a hibachi meal and the preparation and food quality was outstanding. I highly recommend this place, but be sure to get a reservation!

As far as I am concerned, Sake Blue is the finest Japanese restaurant in Louisville. The menu creations boggle the mind and the food goes far beyond excellent! The calamari was to die for, and our waitress suggested a roll the lakes of which I have not seen or tasted anything as rich and flavorful as that roll. Wish I could remember its name. The main dish was something like Sake Blue plate. I wish I had taken pictures! For dessert we had a deep fried cheese cake with homemade whip cream and chocolate drizzle. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She constantly tended to our drinks, and continually made sure that everything was perfect. She was very friendly, professional, with a nice touch of bowing when complemented and when the meal was complete and we were leaving the restaurant. This is probably the finest restaurant meal I have had in years. This review may sound a little over the top, but you will get it if you take the time to try. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny.
