Chill place and great sushi. A bit higher in price but they make up for it by giving you 10 pieces. My go to place to eat sushi

This is the best sushi restaurant that I have ever been to. Not only is the staff very friendly and helpful, but the food is amazing as well! They have affordable prices for large portions of sushi, and the miso soup was just delicious. I really recommend eating here, it was such a great experience for me!

Honestly, probably the best poke bowls I’ve had yet. The servings are perfect, and priced right for what you get. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

First time trying last night after living in town for two years and working in the town for the last five. Got there a little early and the guy was super friendly and conscientious that I was waiting for my order. The food was AMAZING! very fresh, perfect portions (especially for someone who had gastric sleeve), and the pricing was on point. Will definitely be going back!

I wasn’t into this. Place is clean and everything tastes fresh. Takeout was fast. The downside was I didn’t care for the sushi. Got a California and a shrimp tempura roll. Both were oversized for some reason, the kind of roll you need 2 bites for or to cram a giant piece in your mouth. Makes it messy to eat. Ratio of ingredients was also off for me. Filled up with avocado and cucumber, couldn’t event taste the main ingredient of each roll. Don’t know why they choose to do these big messy rolls, but it’s not for me.

The best of the best. I have yet to find another sushi place that serves fish as fresh and tasty as sake sushi. It is a weekly meal for my girlfriend and I. The staff are super friendly, kind, and accommodating. 5/5 in all categories.

Good selection of rolls but limited on main food. The server was very nice and allowed my table to take our time to eat and chit chat.

Poke bowl with fresh veggies, mango, and seafood to the brim! Definitely will come back for a healthy and yummy fix, and to support the friendly owners. The only critique was the shrimp tempura was a bit soggy.

Among the best Pokebowls I've had in NJ. It also feels more genuinely healthy with fresh ingredients and a good serving of meat. It looks like it's a small family business with a mom, dad and son running things. The mom was very sweet and gave us tofu miso soup while we waited for our Pokebowls. I'll definitely return to try their sushi and other options. Update- Poke bowls still hit the spot. The new Beef Bulgogi bowl is absolutely fire. Just might be my new favorite bowl. Sushi is really good as well especially the Spicy Salmon and Spicy Tuna jalapeno rolls.

It's been years since I've been to this place and I must say that the quality of the sushi, the extra large rolls, and most importantly, the taste makes this place stand out among the other sushi places in the area. Owners are friendly and personable and the fish is always fresh. If you haven't been to this place in a while, I absolutely recommend giving it another try.

Hands-down little hidden gem. You will get your moneys worth in food and quality. We enjoyed the service and as well as the options between their food menu and drinks.

Some of the best sushi I have EVER had!! The rolls are huge and generously filled with fish, which is always extremely fresh. Sashimi is high quality and so fresh. Tastes delicious! Reasonably priced considering the high quality and quantity you get. The two gentlemen who are always behind the counter are very kind and personable. Definitely must try!

First time here, I placed the order online for takeout. When I got there, they had forgotten about it. It took an additional seven minutes to put together. The roll was enormous, fresh, and had really good flavor. It was just under $15 and I could only eat half. The salmon slices were thick and the entire roll was about the size of a bratwurst on a bun. I thought it was a little odd to be hearing Jamaican music and explicit rap in a sushi restaurant.

Quality, delicious sushi. They give you large, sufficient portions - I have to order less than I normally do here! Everything is fresh and tastes clean! I am very impressed with this place - it compares to high-end sushi I have had in big cities. Owner's are also very kind and welcoming!

Finally found a new to go & near sushi place! Their food quantity was huge & the price was reasonable too! Tbh, I didn't expect the quantity will be that good(I'm used to the small portion and sizes of rolls in other sushi shop lol) & so did the quality of the food. I planned to eat my to go for lunch, however, I didn't have a chance, it has been seated for ay least 6 hrs before I ate it, and it's still good! Thus, their staff was nice too. Definitely, recommended!

I went here Sunday night after a bbq and found this gem. The guy behind the counter was so friendly and helpful. I took my poke to go. But the atmosphere was nice. I took my poke to go. It was absolutely delicious. I let him add ingredients he thought would make my poke bowl better and his suggestions did not disappoint. The ingredients were fresh. I would definitely recommend this place and go back myself.

Everything is right about Sake Sushi! I haven’t had anything but exceptional food and service from this lovely family owned spot. The nicest people serving outstanding food. If you haven’t already eaten here you should. Worth it in every way.

Love it!! I came across this place on Google maps when I came to Nutley and it has yet to let me down, legit some of the best sushi I’ve had. I got the tempura combo and it was amazing. Such a hidden gem. It’s so nice and clean and the people are super friendly. Highly recommend!

I took my 15 year old son to Sake Sushi, and while I waited outside, he ordered Shrimp Tempura Roll, and when he came back, he said, "Wow, they are so nice!"And they do everything right there and fresh." When he tried it, he was blown away! They even gave him a sample of Sweet Potato Rolls, and he loved it! My son does recommend it!

Absolutely love this place. Good selection, very friendly owners and well-prepared sushi. I live close to two sushi restaurants in Montclair, but I'd rather drive to Nutley to get it from Sake Sushi.

I definitely recommend this place! They work in a very clean kitchen & are always washing their hands, & practice proper mask wearing! Their spicy tuna roll is the best in the area as I’ve tried several places & their fish is very fresh! Their 3 combo deal is the best! They are also so sweet & welcoming, great people & great food!

Food was so delicious! Ingridients were fresh and tasted great despite not being eaten right away. Picked up take-out from here due to covid-19 of course. Drove to Bjs in Kearny to pick up a handful of things and made it back home to North Newark within an hour. Food tasted AHMAZING and I can't imagine how much better it must be to dine-in. Look forward to coming back real soon!

Best Sushi place ever!! Comfortable, Cozy, clean place but most importantly fresh food!! You can go here for a nice get together with friends or a cute date!! My son and I love it here because the owners treat us wonderfully, I watch them treat everybody else the same. If Sushi is new to you? They will patiently explain each plate with detailed ingredients and most importantly patience. If you’re a Sushi fan? You will definitely not regret visiting this wonderful quaint little spot.

Fantastic fresh artistcly created sushi rolls. My favorite is #91 deep fried tempura roll! Stop in you won't be disappointed. I had lunch there yesterday and when I pass by today if they are open on Sunday I am going to have it again today it was that good,

I've been coming to Sake Sushi for a while now and I've been to plenty of sushi spots this one beats em all by far in all categories freshness friendliness quality of ingredients.. everything!

There are a number of great sushi places in the Montclair/Bloomfield/Nutley area, and this is one of them. If you haven't been here and are looking to treat yourself to some sushi, this one is well worth a visit. Great sushi, friendly service. Tip though: ordering their little Mochi ball green tea iced cream isn't really worth it, I'm pretty sure it's the Mt. Fuji brand and you can get a whole box of them at an H-Mart or Mitsuwa's for a price that makes more sense. Still, great place to eat.

By far the most clean and the freshest sushi you can find in the area. The price is just right and the owner and his wife are the most pleasant people you will talk to. My brother and I were one of his first customers and we will keep coming back.

Amazing sushi that I would highly recommend. It is a nice, small local place with a pleasant staff and great food. I have done take out orders and eaten inside for several years and it hasn't changed. The quality is still there. The prices have also remained the same.

The Chef is very friendly and willing to talk and offer selections. Portions are on the smaller side and prices are a little above the norm.

Amazing! Very quaint, quiet and clean. Got a spicy salmon roll and a NY Mets roll. The Mets roll was good, very interesting with the apple! Both were soooo fresh! Gentleman was so nice and friendly. Would go back here again!!!

Hands down the best sushi joint in the area and more. Prices are a bit higher here than elsewhere, but that's more than offset by the fact that is not gas station sushi; some of the best rolls I've ever had (including in Japan) are here. Chefs are very creative and are nice enough to end your in house meal with a 'test' roll that will end your meal on a high note. Personal favorite: Wayne roll.

I decided I'd try Sake Sushi for some take out. There was just one man there working in a small, clean, cute place. You could tell he was hustling on a handful of take out orders. I put in my order with him had to wait a couple of min. Took the food home and it was amazingly delicious. Nice Job man! Your hard work is paying off and Sake Sushi is now my new sushi place.

The staff was friendly, especially Chef Soo. The atmosphere was nice and authentic, with some wear and tear. The food tasted pleasant and was priced fine. For $9, I enjoyed a bowl of miso soup with fresh green onions and 2 hearty sushi rolls. What's more, the chef made a complimentary and delicious roll for us. My favorite item was the Wayne Roll.
