We’ve been have some awesome sushi locations throughout the United States but I have to say that this is my favorite. The fish quality was excellent and choices were plentiful. We sat at the bar and had a nice young lady service. Some excellent drinks and good conversation. Highly recommend this location. We will definitely be a return customer.

I am cautious about the quality of sushi trying somewhere the first time but was happy that our lodging recommended this place. Our host also warned us to make a reservation. We did, but ended up instead choosing to sit at the sushi bar, which seems may be available if you arrive early. Hamachi Kama was tasty though a bit heavy. Special rolls are featured and creative, so tried one, but we enjoyed the flavor of the simpler raw fish items even more. Servers and chefs were all pleasant and professional, even when super busy, Place was overflowing by the time we left, but crowds all seemed to be enjoying themselves, even those having drinks while waiting for tables. Took a moment to find the second floor location, up outside stairs that are set back from the street.

Food and flavors are solid. They got this one girl cook wearing a black wife beater behind the line, tryna act like she's the boss. lol, overly dramatic like she's saving the world. Pretending to be Carmie from the bear. Loves being watched, acting for the guests. Staring at tickets like it's complicated haha. Please wear a shirt. You guys aren't so "hip" your staff can't show some professionalism.

I've been going to Sake To Me Bigfork for years and in my opinion they never disappoint! Best Sushi, Specialty Rolls, and cocktails I've ever had and anytime I'm in Bigfork it's a must! Go to rolls are the tiny forager, Bigfork Bomb, Big Ole Bear, and Massive Attack (can't find anything else like it). Staff is knowledgeable and you can tell takes apart in what they're serving. It's a smaller place but with a great atmosphere. Time and time again Sake To Me is always great and I figured it was finally time to put a review out there after our last visit. Thanks Sake To Me and all you guys do!

The sushi is very well done, fresh and tasty. The space is perfect and we love to sit at the sushi counter and watch them roll. My only complaint is the rolls are too big and, as such, pricey. It makes it hard to enjoy variety with a small group. I would buy twice as many rolls if they were 1/3 smaller.

We came in on a Thursday, early evening. The website says they open at 5pm but when I called at about 4:30 it sounded like they were already open. We were very lucky to get a spot at the sushi bar as it seems they get crowded quickly, had I made a reservation earlier we could have gotten a table and just missed getting a table as a walk in, the couple right in front of us scored the last one. The sushi bar suited us just fine however. We ordered a fish collar which was delicious. It seems that it might not always be available but if it is, I highly recommend. We got 2 additional rolls that were ok, not the most flavorful I’ve ever had but they seemed as fresh as something could be this far away from the ocean. It was a fun evening, we enjoyed the atmosphere and good service. I want to try a few more places in the area before I commit to this being our go-to spot but I have a feeling we will be back again.

Went here tonight for a group dinner/birthday party. I ordered the Butterfish sashimi, which was actually quite good, but am pretty sure it was not black cod, which is what butterfish typically is. I also ordered the "I Love You Man" roll. It was just ok. The tempura was a bit soft and the shrimp had already cooled off, like it had been sitting for a while. It was a bit of a wait for the food, I think partially due to how big the table was, but I think the food sat just so they could bring out giant plates of multiple rolls at the same time. It was served in a way that implied family style, but we indicated that we did not want it that way initially. We had already waited a bit, so I didn't want to wait again for new food. As I stated before, the food was just ok. I tried a couple other people's rolls, and honestly, all the rolls kind of tasted the same, which was weird when the ingredients were so different. Oh, and the fried crispy leeks on top? Don't put those on, guys. It's bitter, dry, and off-putting. Service seemed to be from some sort of manager, so that was a pretty good experience from that front. This was my first time here, and the atmosphere was a bit confusing, but seemed to lean more into the younger crowd, which is fine, but when your staff who's making your food is taking shots with patrons at the sushi counter, I think your problems run deep. I've eaten at many sushi restaurants on the West Coast, and there's definite room for improvement here. I'm hoping this wasn't my last trip here, but with what I experienced, I'm thinking it might be unless some things change.

Been here a few times, twice dining in and tonight was a takeout order. The first time was great, second time the server didn’t know that they served coffee when the station was literally right behind where we were seated. She also told me that she didn’t know if the chef could make an avocado roll… Has she ever eaten at a sushi restaurant? Tonight is the third time, and I ordered 2 rolls, edamame and shishito peppers to go. The place was busy, so it took longer than what we were told, that’s fine. However the to go portions were so minimal, the edamame was about half the amount they give when dining in and there were maybe 10 shishitos total… The rolls also had uneven patches of rice, so the roll was very hard to eat. Overall, it’s a decent place to dine especially being that sushi is somewhat scarce in landlocked Montana, but don’t order the edamame to go.

I feel like the new ownership is still heavily relying on the reputation that the former owner was able to create. This place used to be my favorite go-to that I'd tell everyone to try at least once. Now I have been suggesting to find some other venue. Food - The quality of the plates has gone down from being fresh and interesting to making me feeling kind of gross after eating. I usually can have a few rolls before throwing in the towel, but I could hardly finish one this last time. Service - While the waitstaff are friendly, it doesn't seem like their system of service is quite as polished as it once was. They had forgotten our plates, served us dishes that were meant for other tables, and even started delivering food to others that had come in much later than us. The reason we were told is that their ticket printers are having issues. If that's the case, please replace them or get it serviced... Or if it's easier, go back to manual tickets until the issue is resolved.

Incredible experience. Atmosphere and decor is very nice. We sat at the sushi bar and the friendly staff was very attentive. The sushi is top notch and they have a good selection and some creative items. We enjoyed some sake, a cocktail, the salmon tartar, the wagyu chirashi-zushi (more on this later), a Hot Rip roll, and a soft shell crab roll (I forgot what it was called). Everything was really delicious and well prepared with finesse, portions were also generous. I was a little bit disappointed with the wagyu bowl as the meat itself seemed quite tough and overcooked, that was a bit of a bummer but I will still make a point to visit Saketome regularly.

Unfortunate to see this place plummet. Used to be great sushi and amazing service but not the past few times ive visited. We came here for our anniversary. The appetizers were good. The rolls that we ordered were more of a fusion versus sushi. This is based on the very small portions of fish and the fact that they used things like cream cheese, goat cheese and nuts. While the service was ok, it seemed as though we were a bother. The service was not friendly and the staff were not happy to be there. We will stick with our go to place.

Food was decent but overall didn’t have a good experience. We had a 7:15pm reservation for our 9 person party and our rolls were not served until 8:45pm. They were changing the menu so several of the items were not available, but they weren’t noted or a temporary menu put in place. They closed at 9pm and we still had a few rolls missing, which we had to remind them 3 times of which items still had not been served. They brought the check to pay before all the food was brought out. The fried rolls we ordered would completely fall apart when trying to grab them.

Food was good. Menu is on your phone only with no pictures or explanations to help in making choices. A little pricey but portions are fair. Biggest complaint is everybody's orders came on shared platters instead of individual plates. In a party of 12 the rolls were from opposite ends of the table on one platter.

Common theme with the one star reviews, yikes. Girl on the phone said bar is first come first serve. We showed up at 7pm to sit down at the bar with my group of 3 (6 seats were available) and immediately were denied because we did not have a reservation. I was told on the phone it was first come first serve for the bar but the hostess responded "I'm sorry she is new. We can maybe get you a seat in like an hour." Looked like a popping place, kinda yuppie vibes in there, sheesh B+ rating too? Ended up going to Blue Samurai in Kalispell, sat at the bar with my group and had a delicious dinner there.

Long story short: a reservation was made in advance, we show up to find locked doors and lights off, sign says the restaurant is closed for holidays. We made a reservation for December 23rd on December 10th. Because we were a table of 7, we had to call and make the reservation instead of making the reservation online. We even had to call back on December 11th to adjust the time slightly and it was confirmed our reservation was good for December 23rd. We gave our phone number at the time of the reservation. We load up the family and drive to Big Fork with the snowy conditions, arrive at the restaurant, and are greeted with a sign that they are closed the 23rd through Christmas. So aggravating! If they were going to be closed the 23rd why were we allowed to make a reservation for that day. If they decided after the reservation was made that they were going to be closed why were we not contacted? It’s just horrible customer service! Our family had to scramble and find another restaurant to go to that could accommodate 7 people last minute. This on top of other issues we have had here in the past have officially taken this restaurant off of our list.

Stopped in on a Tuesday night and was highly impressed. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the sushi was top notch. I am generally more of a fan of traditional style sushi, and I would consider this establishment a little more on the "fusion" side of things. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the rolls we ordered. The sashimi was as good as I've had anywhere. In fact, the hotate and toro might have been the best I've ever had. I was even pleasantly surprised when I saw the bill considering how full I was. My only minor complaint is that the miso could've been hotter.

My boyfriend and I have been to Saketome 3 times. The first time we went, it was for our first date, and we were seated at a small table next to the restroom. (My bf is 6'3" and could barely squeeze into the chair) As soon as we finished the server asked if we we're leaving because there were people waiting. (Rude) My bf still talks about that. The next time we were brought back to that same small table. So we asked for a different one. We were seated at another small table sandwiched in between people. Trying one more time...Last night, because I knew my bf had made a reservation for his birthday, I messaged the restaurant ahead of time and asked if we could have a nice table for this special occasion. I was told "I will see what I can do. Most of our bigger tables are reserved for 4 tops but I will check and see if I can make that work. We will do our best to get you at a table that fits you." However, when we arrived we were told they'd HAD a bigger table for us but gave it away to another group "who also had a reservation" And had prepared that - same small table by the bathroom! I told them that it was unacceptable, that we too had made a reservation and had taken the time to ask in advance for a different table. The hostess was somewhat apologetic but basically said that they reserve bigger tables for 4 or more. After standing by the door waiting for people to finish eating, we ended up at a small table in between people again. No mention was made about his birthday and no offer to make things right. The food was okay and our server was pleasant. But due to the lack of effort on the restaurant's part, it tainted our experience. There are other sushi restaurants in the valley besides Saketome. The one in Whitefish will even sprinkle sparkles on the table for someone's birthday! Saketome won't get our business again.

If you unwittingly enjoy very expensive fast food, then you have come to the right spot. Be warned, regardless of how fast your food arrives or when you get seated, your clock to leave is set 90 minutes after your reservation time. There are no exceptions, even when there are other people who arrived before you or if there are other open tables. As bizarre as this sounds, it makes total sense because you are eating very expensive fast food and they need you to leave ASAP so they can turn your table over again.

My advice would be to read and listen to all of the one star reviews. Going out to dinner and splurging is a treat for my husband and I every so often, so when the experience is diminished by such poor service it is really frustrating. We have been returning customers to this restaurant and sadly won’t ever be back. Samantha was our waitress, and was she not only rude but very condescending and cold. We weren’t even at our table for 1 hour and 15 minutes (most of that time waiting on our food) until she came over and sternly told us that they had another reservation waiting for our table and that we would have to leave, and asked if she could box up our food as she began grabbing things off the table as we were eating… we were shocked and so confused by this as there were other open tables next to us. Never in all of our years of going out to dinner have we ever been kicked out of a table! The way she spoke to us was so rude and so matter-of-fact and she refused to listen to our questions when we asked for clarification. She simply stated it is in the fine print when you book a reservation that you can not stay for longer than 90 minutes, so customers, be aware. Very sad and unprofessional that she handled it in this way. It is evident in the reviews the wait staff prioritizes profit and turning tables over good customer service. We will not be back.

The OP was amazing, we ended up getting another one later...ABBA Zabba, Grow Wings, and DT Aftermath also good. To drink we tried a Flathead Cherry Mule. Delicious. I will dream of this meal until we return...

My family, friends and I have gone to Saketome for several years now for birthdays, celebrations, night outs, whenever relatives are visiting town, you name it. And we have recommended it countless amount of times to friends throughout the valley. Although the food is good, it doesn’t make up for the wait staff, specifically the manager, Heather. She has been our waitress the past 4 times we have visited and it’s not a pleasant experience. Very short/annoyed when we ask questions, argued with us when we politely said our drinks weren’t the ones we ordered, mocked us to other waitstaff. When we left her a 14% tip one night because of bad service she confronted us and said how “chintzy” it was for all she did. Yikes. Once again, she mocked us in front of other waitstaff. Having worked in the restaurant industry before its common knowledge that tips should be earned not expected. When we had other waitress in the past here, we tipped 20% because of how kind they were. We felt bad at first until we read other reviews online having similar issues with her. Sad to say we won’t be going here or recommending this place anymore.

Some of the very best sushi we have EVER had. Excellent service, friendly staff, and the flavor profiles of all of the rolls were outstanding.

Food is good, prices are high. The dining experience is not really fabulous in this restaurant. It’s very noisy and on top of that, the music they play is loud enough to make it difficult to carry on a conversation. This seems to be the case each time we have eaten at this restaurant in spite of asking to have it turned down. My feeling is that the wait staff is very rushed and they want to get you out the door so they can turn the tables over quickly. In spite of this the service was OK. Just does not make for the best dining experience…

Big city level sushi 🍣 It's our favorite place in bigfork... And we live there. The food is fantastic, only second to how great the service is.

This is an upstairs restaurant in the pretty town of Big Fork, MT. It offers a wide variety of traditional Japanese fare including an extensive selection of hand rolls. On a weekend night it can get quite busy. My main comment would be that with many of the rolls, the choice of flavoring can overwhelm the rolls. Service can also be a bit tight on the weekends.

I know Montanans wouldn’t know what good food is if it hit them in the face but 5 stars for this place?! I should’ve known what I was getting myself into when I saw that all the “sushi chefs” were white women. The rolls were bland, falling apart, and overpriced. What a waste of gas, time, and money. Take a sushi making class and learn about flavor profiles ffs!

This used to be a great sushi restaurant but the quality, presentation, and service have all fallen off drastically in the last few years. First of all, it is very very noisy. The food is good but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered a sashimi platter that came out so unappealing that we sent it back to be replated. Any sushi chef would have been embarrassed but the staff is too young and undertrained to understand. I keep going in the hope it will have improved but I think this was my last shot.

I've been to lots of other sushi places and sakitome was the best customer service from everyone, did was incredibly delicious. And the best part was that we weren't rushed r pressured into something we weren't sure of, like at some other sushi places in the valley I've been too. Plus great food at a great price and it's my new favorite slice of sushi paradise.

I have been waiting for years to come here. What a disappointed! I should have known. We were threatened from the start. Made reservations online, received a voicemail to basically eat and get out! We get there the music is so loud we can't hear each other and the waitress is literally yelling at me for an order. Very over stimulating. No personal experience what so ever. FYI bring your phone you need to scan the barcode for a menu. This was new to us. Waitress treated us like we were dumb for not knowing. Then we were rushed for an order. The food had this horribly spicy seasoning on it which wasn't mentioned on the menu. Why would you over power the fish with crappy seasoning. When mentioning this to the staff, "It our signature spice. Why people come to see us." Unfortunately we sent back the scallops because it was so very over seasoned with the "speciality spice" and rock salt. Ultimately the food was so so. The sushi roll was sloppy and late. To give you a time frame, we received it on our second order of tempura shrimp. It was floppy and not rolled correctly. At the end we were over charged to the point where management spoke to us. Management blamed the owners stating, "This is how the Owners want things!!" What a mess. Boils down to, no personal experience, hospitality was horrendous. Awful service from Savannah. Ambiance was like a night rock club. Literally the best thing about this restaurant was the picture of Bill Murray as Lord Raiden from Mortal Kombat!

This was some of the best and freshest sushi we've ever had. They have a great menu and selection. The presentation and service were both superb...and our handcrafted cocktails were excellent as well. Saketome is a beautiful, bright, contemporary restaurant that was perfect for meeting friends before attending the Bigfork Summer Playhouse Musicals. They are sure to get you out on time and that your are completely satisfied!!!
