Outstanding authentic Japanese food. All 3 in our party have lived in Japan and found this a fun trip down memory lane with all the prepared foods, snacks, and beverages that come straight from Japan. Friendly counter service.

This little mom-and-pop sushi shop rocks. They pay attention to the quality of the rice and the temperature of the fish like few sushi places do. Not a fine dining sushi atmosphere, but what's on the plate is as good as anything you'll find. We always go here before seeing a movie at the Majestic 10.

Everything was delicious, from the miso soup to the soft shell crab and all the rolls we tried. Unassuming place but world class food!

This place was a huge disappointment. I can't understand why people in the reviews raved about the value of this place. 6 peices of sushi is $18 before tax and tip. We also got some beef dishes which were tough, small portions, and overall weren't very good.

I can't have about this place enough. Simple sushi done perfectly (and fresh), great alternatives, happy staff, a very homely atmosphere, at prices that cannot be beaten this far inland.

Came for lunch between shopping - our meals were delicious and super prompt, and the service was extremely polite and accommodating. It’s a casual pay-at-the-counter restaurant that seems to have specials regularly. We will be back! Highly recommend

Truly excellent food and worth the wait. Dishes are prepared as ordered so don’t expect food out in 15 minutes. I found the place charming, but I also don’t need fancy surroundings. Friday was packed, both dine in and take out but front gentleman was honest about the wait for sushi. We are picky about our Japanese food and we would recommend

My absolute favorite 🤯 Food is amazing, prices are amazing, atmosphere and staff are beyond friendly and welcoming. It is the best place I ate in Vermont and I’d save my money and come splurge here because Sakura is ALWAYS that good! This is real Japanese diner sushi and food menu btw so you won’t be missing out at all. I miss it.

Best sushi/Japanese in northwest Vermont .. family owned operated and the elders run the kitchen. What you get for the price too will shock you.

Delicious, fresh food. We ate in and the food came out very quickly and was so affordable. Portions are on the smaller end but yummy and filling and enables you to try a few things. We had the dumplings & teriyaki chicken appetizers, miso soup that came with our dinners and the spicy tofu don bowl and Korean beef dinner and all were very yummy. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Great food, but often takes 15-20 calling attempts to get them to answer the phone for takeout. I often give up and go elsewhere because they don’t answer the phone, which is a shame because they have good food - but just don’t answer the phone.

Most underrated sushi restaurant in Vermont. Very consistent quality of food.

I only recently found out about this gem and tell as many people as I can about it. The staff are always attentive and warm and the food is definitely craveworthy. My favorites are the sweet potato tempura roll and the yakisoba that comes with AMAZING shrimp tempura. I usually pay for extra!

When I want casual, affordable Japanese food packed with flavor, Sakura is my go to spot. What I appreciate most about this restaurant is the relatively slim menu- I love not being overwhelmed with many options. They pick the things they’re great at and execute it phenomenally. I dream of their veggie rolls.

Stopped in on a whim and got take out. I moved to Vermont after living on the coast my whole life, and finding sushi I like has proved difficult. Sakura far exceeded my expectations! Great quality sushi, the best miso soup I’ve ever had and the customer service was just lovely. I will definitely be returning.

You can't go wrong at this spot. The food is always S tier. Yea the place is sparsely decorated and outdated, but that's how you know it's good!

Got our usual Friday takeout at Sakura last night. It was delicious, tasted so clean and fresh! Loved it! I will absolutely go back!

The price, the flavor, and portions are perfect. I've eaten sushi all over different cities/states, and this is my most favorite place to eat. The sushi rolls are always great and never come apart like most places. The flavor from each item on the menu is amazing and tastes fresh. The customer service is lovely. This place is awesome, and I highly recommend anyone in search of flavorful food to come here.

Sakura is my go-to sushi restaurant. A small and unpretentious restaurant, but the sushi is reliably fabulous.

We are vegetarian so not tons of options, but the veggie sushi is great!

High quality fish. Very well priced. What more can you ask for? Also, my fiancé who doesn’t eat sushi or fish enjoyed the chicken teriyaki and pork gyoza.

Excellent, authentic Japanese food at a great price. A great selection of sushi and non-sushi dishes; the beef udon was awesome, the bento boxes are always delicious, and of course the sushi is always fresh, tasty, and well-presented.

Really great food, however I was told to pick up in 20 minutes from when I phoned in my order. When I got there, I waited almost 25 minutes. Not cool.

Best spot for sushi in the Burlington area. Also great Japanese food and very reasonable prices. Love their weekly bentos! I honestly usually forgo the sushi (even though it's the best in the area) and go for some traditional Japanese food. I love the chicken/salmon bowls, the yakisoba, udon, and the (very mild) curries! Try the oshitashi (boiled spinach) if you need to get some greens in your diet but hate salad.

Small, clean, fast, simple, delicious

I just love this place. I spent a year in Japan and always miss the food and Sakura is a way for me to get my Japanese food fix. The food is authentic and delicious and the staff are wonderful. They also have a small grocery section of Japanese foods. One of my favorite restaurants and the most authentic Japanese food I have found in Vermont!

Amazing food and the nicest people

I just had their food for the first time and it was wonderful! I had the chicken curry and some sushi and rolls and everything was very good and tasted fresh. Staff was friendly and food was ready quickly. So glad this is in walking distance, will for sure be back!

best deal for sushi around: fresh, authentic, cheap only $4 for an order of veg sushi, so you may as well get two or three different kinds for the same price as most other restaurants' dinner entrees! (disclaimer: I haven't had their seafood, so my comments can't extend to that)

Great service!!! Raw chicken is not something that is appealing to me. They offered to replace it.....loss of appetite made sure that wasn't an option. Maybe next time

I am sorry to say that our Sushi and Sashimi Lunch today was very disappointing. The fish was tired and old. There was an off smell to one of the sushi pieces. The pickled ginger was tough and dry. We had frozen mochi for dessert - also disappointing, covered in freezer burn. Sad, the whole experience was sad.

We drive 40 miles to enjoy Sakura's (delicacies). The only place we visit in that mall. Their food is delicious, fresh and inexpensive. Service is wonderful! We usually order take out then sit comfortably with a snack and relax while we wait. (Although we order several different items it never takes very long.) I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

This is my "go to" for authentic Japanese food in Vermont. It is owned, operated, and food is cooked by a Japanese family. Watch Japanese TV while you wait. Totemo oishii desu!

Surprisingly good sushi in a strip mall in Vermont. The rolls were clearly made to order (nice warm rice) and the fish was tasty and very reasonable.

Had the lunch bento with chicken and an order of Shumai. All of it was delish and well portioned. A great place to order and pickup lunch on a busy workday!

Always consistent with quality fresh made sushi and other delights from their menu. Good miso soup and many menu options for those who are not sushi lovers. Can be very busy so plan ahead if u want take out, but worth the wait. Great service, eat in or take out and always very friendly.

Absolutely amazing fresh food !!!! Not just sushi options. There are other options that are just as good !! The portions aren't big but they aren't small either. I love the genuine food ingredients they use. Also they have Milk tea.....if you've never tried that...you must go if you're a tea drinker ! It's a cold drink and it's absolutely amazing ! And only 2 dollars a can ! Yum !!!! Also thier Japanese brand drink for kids has sugar cane instead of high fructose syrup! Super cool ! 😎

I've been coming to this place for years. I love how everything is made to order and is fresh. The staff has always been so friendly, especially Hugo! always positive and happy. Would definitely recommend this place. Currently they are only taking to go orders due to covid

Good price. Good food. Only issue was that I ordered an unagi bowl which said it would come with vegetables but was just rice with eel and sauce. Only a small dab of pickled something in the corner. Other than that great. Would of been 5 stars if not for that.

I have loved Sakura for 20 years! I worked there when I was 16yrs old on Church St. In Burlington. It was a sad day when the Church St. Location closed. I am incredibly grateful that this Williston location is still popping. I'll be loyal forever!!

The food is amazing and so is the staff! We absolutely love this place and can't believe it's taken so long to find them.

Amazing food and great atmosphere

The sushi is very good and fresh here, but today Inteied the Beef Don, described as beef strips with vegetables over rice. Anticipating something like a Chinese stir fry dish, I was quite dissappinted at finding a small portion overall, only 1 broccoli floret and some onions. Will stick with sushi

I love this place. It's where I had my first Sushi. And the food is so good, I have never been disappointed! Always friendly staff and great service. It is a small "hole in the wall" place, but it's clean and you wont be disappointed!

Best sushi in Vermont, hands down! $3-$6 dollars for 8 rolls is a steal. I recommend the double punch rolls! They also sell drinks and snacks from Japan which are fun to try.

Fantastic authentic Japanese quick food and small grocery! I'm so glad I found Sakura - my roommates and I come at least once a month. They make everything to order, so it can take a bit for food to arrive, but it's worth the wait. They have a TV playing Japanese news and shows in the dining room which we love! The seating section is a touch small, but they've filled it with as many seats as they can - if you want to dine in during the dinner rush, be prepared to wait a little bit! But you can also take your order to go. I've done it three times now, and our food was packed well, didn't leak or spill, and was still warm by the time we got home (15 mins away). The sushi is fresh, well proportioned and an affordable price! The tempura fried veggies and shrimp are delicious too. We also like the chicken cutlet with curry and the inari don - honestly, I don't think there's anything we've ordered here that we haven't liked! Try the takoyaki they have on special right now, it's authentic as can be! If you do decide to dine in, there's two things to know - one, you order & pay at the counter, and the staff will deliver your food, but that's the extent of the table service. If you want a refill or to order more plates, you'll have to wait in line at the counter again. But they're speedy, so you won't have to wait long to order usually. Two, when you're done, they ask you to put your dirty dishes and trash in a wash bin in the right corner designated with a sign. Don't worry about sorting it, they'll take care of it in the back. The grocery section is small but a blessing!! It's two roughly 6ft shelving units on the right wall when you walk in. I'm from Michigan and regularly bought from Japanese markets and missed it. Finding Vermont Curry blocks, Japanese mayo, bonito flakes, seaweed snacks, ramune, milk tea, and matcha (and more, of course) was such a sweet surprise! They also sell some wares from the counter like sake cups and Japanese made bowls and cups, and I believe they have natto and some salads for sale kept in a refrigerated case in the corner. The last thing I'll say is that the staff are all excellent here - friendly, quick, attentive, and informed. We've only had an issue once in the year we've been going when their order system crashed during a storm and two of our items were lost on our ticket. They apologized profusely and replaced our items as soon as we mentioned it. The chefs are great and consistent. I really can't recommend this place enough!

I've been coming here for years and the food is 100% consistently great! There are some menu items I especially love, including the BSS roll. Give it a try!
