Great spot for some Mexican food

Too much food for one but it was good. We shared the 3 amigo burrito. The chicken was tender, shrimp was big but the beef was a little too chewy for me. Overall it was really good. The service was quick.

It’s such an unexpected vibe! My friends and I were headed to Vegas and got really hungry and just saw this and stopped. The food and the service was amazing and great prices!! if you have time to stop on your way through i highly recommend!

The food quality this time wasn't as great. Twice now I have went here two months apart and they were "closed" by 6pm even though it says they are open until 830. Stop wasting people's time. If your going to close whenever the heck you want just shut down!

Fantastic vegan fajitas. Just ask for no cheeses. Generous helping of guacamole. Nice pile sautéed fajita veggies. Rice, beans and lettuce.

Great service and reasonable prices. I also picked up a couple shirts, they have a cool design. I got the three taco plate with 2 shrimp tacos and 1 carne asada tacos. I highly recommend the shrimp tacos they were great! Carne asada was also delicious. This is a great value and it came with rice and beans. They also have good horchata. Salsa was a little watery, but still good. I would recommend this historic cafe to anyone visiting the salt flats. Cash only so come prepared!

This is one of those “hole in the wall” restaurants with delicious and reasonably priced food. It’s cash only. Our tacos, beans, and rice were excellent. They also understood how to prepare a gluten free dish.

Service here was exceptional! We were greeted and seated quickly and were given big glasses of Ice water right away which was perfect for how hot it was outside. The food came out fast and was DELICIOUS!! The food here is much better than what you can get in the casinos. I absolutely loved the caramelized onions with the carne asada! I am excited to come back here and make it a tradition.

The service was good but the food was borderline nasty. We noticed a large group had left a lot of food on there plates when they left. After we received our food, we understood why. The taco meat was dry. The salsa was watered down. The food was not fresh. I believe their Google ratings are fake.

Needs a lot of updating inside and out

It was fine problems where that ordered chicken and it tasted like turkey and boyfriends was in chunks not shredded like at other Mexican restaurants.. (in a burrito) not a good place to eat👎👎💯

We live in town and eat here pretty much weekly. Great people, great food, great service. We lived here for a year and drove by the place all the time. It was our out-of-town friends who told us about it. That was three years ago. If you come to Wendover, eat here. Way better and less expensive than anywhere, especially the casinos.

I spent some time driving around rural Mexico 30 years ago. Salt Flats Cafe matched that experience for the food and warm service. The photos on the wall make it feel like a set from Top Gun. Bring cash.

Best food in Wendover, and at a decent price. Great friendly service. Had breakfast lunch and dinner here. Tried the red garter for breakfast, NOT the same at all. Left there and came back here. Had burger for lunch, quesadilla/carne asada for dinner. Now back for bacon n' eggs. Mexican or American dishes are all delisious.

A funky, friendly place. The food was very good. The service was fast and friendly. The chili verde was delicious. The carne asada was very flavorful but a bit on the "tough" side. Probably wouldn't order it again. But the chilli verde was good enough to balance this review. We'll go back anytime we're in the area. Kinda says it all.

Awesome family owned/run business. Great selection of food. Chips and salsa. Biggest glass of soda or water you can get. They have great water. The salsa never fails to singe my nostrils and tongue but has a great flavor. Tons of local history on the walls. It could use a new make over but I love the nostalgia it has and the big welcoming smile and the people who work there are all wonderful people. I prefer spending money in local businesses just like this.

Cash-only joint serving authentic Mexican food. This little restaurant serves amazing food perfect for when you get tired of fast food on the road. We had the steak enchiladas and steak quesadilla, both of which were delicious. The chips were served with a spectacular, spicy salsa! Friendly people and friendly faces all around. Affordable and quick, this is a great local spot to be at!

This place is awesome. A real hidden gem in West Wendover NV. I stumbled upon it walking over to the Historic Air museum. Based upon how crowded it was at lunchtime, it's obviously a popular place with the locals. I had the steak burrito w/ rice and beans. So delicious. I'll be stopping in every time I'm in West Wendover.

My quesadilla was filled with joints. Chips stale. They weren't surprised when we left after 2 bites. Clearly happens often.. but people were nice but shouldn't charge when people leave after a bite.

Parquette-approved, reasonably priced. A very casual cafe-style restaurant. I had the 3 enchilada meal. Cheese and chicken enchiladas were great. The beef was ok, so go cheese and chicken. Great service. Will come back!

If you visit Wendover without stopping here, you're making a huge mistake! This place is worth driving all the way from Salt Lake!

If you're ever in Wendover, this little place is great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The owners are nice, the service is quick, and the food is delicious. It's not a 5-star building, but who cares when everything else is good.

Fantastic little restaurant. Cash only. We ate their 2x in 48hrs. 7 of us eating there was about 70 dollars each time. My brother asked me to pick him up on the way home so I also called and order to go fajitas for them which they provided tortillas on the side as requested, chips and salsa etc. I will absolutely go back if I go back to wendover. Hands down the best place to eat in wendover. We eat here 2x evertime we come here. 2 Pancho special, ceviche chips salsa and 2 sodas was only 32 dollars. Cash only place.

I think it is about the most reasonable place in town. It is certainly a little rough looking but they do serve excellent food. The servings are large and the service is good. If you need fancy the casino's are for you but if you just want a good inexpensive meal this place is great.

Great service and yummy food with huge portions! Clean bathrooms. It looks kinda dumpy from the outside but it was totally worth the stop. We liked that it was family-owned but beware it is cash only.

This family knows what they are doing; this is the best food I have ever had. I cleared my entire plate, and I’m on medication that suppresses my appetite—that is how good it is. The service is phenomenal, so friendly and SO fast. Get the baja chicken if you want your brain to explode (in a good way).

Do yourself a favor and eat here. The food is so delicious and flavorful. The portions are huge and honestly you can’t beat the price. Cash only. I had the Birria Tacos and they were incredible, their rice and beans are outstanding. Carne asada and enchiladas were also very very good, it all tasted incredibly fresh. Their chips are to die for and the salsa is the right amount of spicy, you just can’t stop eating it. Staff is nice and friendly, gave us recommendations and service was prompt!

As someone passing through town, this was good for a easy and filling meal. The portions are huge and the price was very good. Food quality wasn't the best, but I sure got what I payed for.

We had read reviews for this restaurant-it had all 4* and better. Never in reviews was it mentioned how old, run down and unfriendly staff were. It's a 'cash-only' establishment, no alcohol and only one staff member spoke english. Spanish speaking with small mexican style menu. Needless to say-we would NOT recommend it and would've left to find another place but we were very tired from long day of driving.

Everything was so flavorful and exactly the homemade feel we were looking for. We walked there from Nugget and even though they were about to close we didn’t feel rushed. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the people are nice and the food is muy delicioso Tex Mex style. I inhaled the plate they put in front of me, chips and salsa good too, not expensive. Unfortunately I live very far away.

I had a ground beef burrito, and Would bit recommend it. No flavor. My daughter had the shrimp fajita, which I had a taste of, and that was excellent! Not sure what happened between the two orders, but the I was not pleased with the burrito. Stick with the fajita. All the staff what their recommendation Would be perhaps. We had a very nice waiter, quiet, but polite and always smiled. The atmosphere of the establishment was okay, nothing really stupid out, but it was quaint. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a group of possible relatives to the owners there. I love families that spend time together; however, when inside of a business, perhaps their conversations should be kept at a low volume. I didn't want to be privy to their conversation.... I could hear them better than I could hear my daughter who was seated directly across from me. Regardless, I'm not going to not recommend anyone from checking them out; I'm sure they're not always like this🙂.

We stopped into Salt Flats Cafe after a friend had recommended it to us. We were extremely pleased with the service, friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. The food was plentiful and delicious and really reasonably priced. We left with full stomachs, smiles on our faces and still had money to come back for breakfast in the morning. Wich was also delicious, this place is great.

I came, I saw, I considered. Rode moto from Boise thru sideways rain and Mormon country, dead set to see the salt flats, land speed history, time trials. Whoops, it's cancelled. But the cafe was not. Warm up with the asada plate. Squeeze in the booth. Get to know your neighbor. Excellent food, they should send their recipes to the treasure valley.. No cerveza and cash only, so plan accordingly

The people and the food here are totally awesome, the best in windover, and better than 98% of the Mexican restaurants in Salt Lake City. This is a must visit place while you are in Windover, Utah/Nevada.

Very cool little place. The food was awesome! I loved their salsa. We had ceviche tostada's and Birria tacos. Both were very good. The meat was so tender and juicy with a great flavor. The service was a tad bit slow but friendly. We came at a very slow time so I think it is somewhat expected. I loved all of the photos of racing teams throughout the restaurant. I would come back!!
