This is by far the best Pupuseria outside of El Salvador, and the rest of their food is also top notch. I have frequented Samantha’s since moving to the DC area in 2000. You won’t find better pupusas . Try the revueltas and cheese pupusas. My husband swears by the carne asada; my daughter loves the fish dishes; and my son the fajitas. We have yet to come across something that we do not love. Try the yuca frita con chicharrón as an appetizer. And the drinks, like ensalada and horchata are delicious. We keep coming back and bring friends and family!

I've eaten here before, and when I tell you this place has the best Carne asada I've ever tried, it's so juicy and tender. I recommend getting the Carne asada it won't disappoint!!!

Terrible Service, the Waiter (man about 50 years old, if you are white he laughs with you and serves you well but if you are Latino he can probably be very rude) very bad service from him, I would never recommend this place, the waitress was very attentive If we talk about a very bad experience.

delicious mexican food in a nice environment with attentive service. i normally dislike a lot of mexican dishes because they are too salty but this was delicious and not salty at all. everything tasted fresh, and the flounder ceviche was incredible. look forward to going back soon!

I heard Someone in the reviews that said theses pupusas are the best in Maryland, and I would like to disagree and say that thaws are the best in The USA. Everything in this little restaurant was great. The staff were amazing and same with the food.

Surprising good Mexican food and that saying a lot because I was raised in Southern California. I ordered the standard shredded chicken enchiladas . I was amazing by the distinctive tanginess of the sauce and the delicious accompaniments (guacamole, fresh sour cream and creamy beans and rice). This was just really unexpectedly good food. Lightening fast service and their chip and salsa are second to none.

Great little Latin American restaurant. The food is delicious, service is attentive and un-rushed. Can get a little loud, and the lighting could be better. I'll definitely be back.

I really enjoyed eating at Samantha’s! I was so surprised to walk in and see a lot of families eating in there, which told me this was a popular spot with potentially a lot of returning customers. We ordered the argentine steak that was supposed to come with a chimichurri sauce but didn’t appear present on the steak, more so “flavored” chimichurri I guess.. and I ordered beef and ribs fajitas. The rice and beans were really good and tasty. I enjoyed my beef fajitas, but the ribs were a little too saucy and more American bbq tasting than Latino style. I see that they have a pork ribs entree on the menu which I may try next time to see if they’re any but different than the fajitas. I really liked that they had a large menu with many options so we can try different stuff each time we come back. Will be returning soon with local family!

We’ve been going to Samantha’s for years when we’re attending games at University of MD. WE LOVE IT!! From the pollo asado, fried platanos, sangrias, to beef tongue, it’s ALL excellent!! Don’t be dissuaded by the unassuming building with limited parking, next to a car wash! We park across the street and it’s no problem! Staff is always congenial and the service prompt!

We LOVE Samantha 's! It is the one restaurant my whole family wants to eat. The Pupusas are the best! We have been eating here for years and are never disappointed. We mostly do take out.

Very strange. I walked in and ordered the fajitas with ribs and chicken and a seafood pupusa. Very normal transaction. Brought the food home. Opened the container and it smelled just a little off. Took small bites of the food and it tasted ok. But the beans were extremely salty. I mean like someone dropped half the salt shaker in the small plastic container. Those I had to throw out. Very strange. I have loved Samantha's food for years. I will give them another chance down the road.

Today, I made the realization that I have been coming here for over 20 years. I spent my 21st birthday with my family as well as my college graduation here many moons ago. Last time, I had asked if they had a new chef because my favorite pupusa got even better. Highly recommend!!! Great service, great food! My only complaint- terrible parking.

Love their salsa/dip. Best New Mexican I've had since leaving Las Cruces, NM. All the servers we spoke with were fluent in Spanish. Food came out fast and service was wonderful.

Over decades, I have passed by this place, read the reviews, and promised myself I would go one day. Today was the day, and I was not disappointed. The menu....plenty to choose from. Service....very friendly and professional. Pricing....on par with the quality of the food. This is one place that I will come to more often. One thing....the parking can be difficult.

I am writing to bring to your attention an unpleasant experience that I had with one of your employees. On May 16, 2023, at around 11:45 pm, I called your restaurant to complain about the loud noises that were coming from a worker using a water pressure tool, which was disturbing our sleep. The person who answered my call informed me that they were required to clean up the area due to county regulations (AT 11 to midnight?) However, what followed next was completely unexpected and unacceptable. The individual, who I believe to be one of your employees, went on a racist tirade about Hondurans for no apparent reason. As a local, fellow Latin, and repeat customer, I found this behavior to be completely inappropriate and unacceptable. It is appalling that someone representing your establishment would engage in such behavior. The fact that this happened late at night, when most people would be asleep, only adds to the frustration and anger I feel. I would like to request that you take appropriate action to ensure that such behavior does not occur again in the future. It is important that your employees are trained to handle customer complaints professionally and without any form of discrimination or prejudice. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The restaurant's food has stayed consistent since I started frequently going in 2000. This last vist in May 2023 I had the trout, fish, with scallops and shrimp and it was the same as the first time I had the meal. The freshness of the fish and squid was excellent. I can't wait to go back.

The service is excellent, its not a large restaurant so you will be greeted shortly after stepping inside. I've visited twice before writing this review and both times the service was excellent, very courteous and friendly. Both times I ordered the Ceviche, but the 2nd time I ordered the Ceviche *mixto* which includes different seafood. Both were incredibly good. I would recommend either for restaurant goers seeking too experience Ceviche for their 1st time. They accept all forms of payment, including NFC payments.

The bartender at this restaurant has been here for years! He is a whole vibe in himself, and I've always sat with him at the bar. Almost always come here to eat the green chicken stuffed with spinach and mushrooms. . Absolutely superb!

I Have lived in the SS area for ten years and pass by Samantha’s often. Glad we decided to give this place a try. The food was good and atmosphere delightful. I had the chicken enchiladas which were great. My son enjoyed the carne asada. We plan to come back.

Come hungry. Leave satisfied. Don’t miss ceviche or the calamari. Both done perfectly. All meat dishes get special attention and quesadillas overstuffed and filling. Parking may be a hassle; walk a few blocks if you have to. It’s worth the effort

The food is great always is i love coming to samathas ever since i was a child always celebrating our birthday here but unfortunately i came to the restaurant today to enjoy the food with my girlfriend but we got a waitress today and this guy was not polite in any type of way and he served us our food and never gave us our drinks but was very attentive with the other table i felt like we where being discriminated because we where a young hispanic couple while the other guys where a Caucasian family loved this restaurant up to this point won't be coming back to eat here.

Went there for celebratory lunch after my Civil wedding.

I got shrimp ceviche but by the looks of the shrimp and how much white flake stuff is all over them i could tell they've been prepared beforehand and kept in the fridge to sell. the lettuce at the bottom was soggy and old. Never even seen lettuce in ceviche but it didn't have enough lime as a tasty ceviche should. basically was just a bunch of whole boiled shrimp with big onions. Anyways i paid $17 for this no crackers no chips so dont expect that either. I also got tacos beef steak for about the same price for two tacos but the rice it came with was hard, also probably sitting nothing seemed freshly made. For what i paid i expected better. it was a little disappointing since i make way better ceviche at home. I don't expect to go back unless someone pays for me bahahahahaha.

Such a cool place! The service was incredible. We had a wonderful server who was super nice. The food was wonderful. I was not really in the mood for Mexican and had the Pollo asago. At the end of the meal I was ready to come back the next night!

I had the Pechuga de Pollo, Mesquite grilled chicken breast topped with jalapeño and green peppers; also served with a salad. The beans and salad was good but the chicken was way over cooked and dry.

Good pupusas, very good Lomo Saltado. I added fresh Avocado from home to my pupusas.

Legit. The salsa is quite possibly the greatest in the DMV. Get the pitcher. Don't half it. You know what I mean

The food and service here is amazing! I have been going to Samantha's for over 15 years and have never had a bad experience. Nice-sized portions so I'm always able to share my meal with others in my party and still have food to take home to eat the next day. Food is authentic and flavorful. Parking is a little tight, but I've never had to leave or park elsewhere because a parking space didn't open up.

I wanted red enchilada sauce & they brought out a tasteless tomato sauce when I was looking for the dark red kind..I ordered a shredded beef burrito & they brought out shredded chicken. They changed it but the waiter muddled I said chicken when I did not. The waitress was nice.

Great inconspicuous spanish restaurant really good and flavorful food Definitely worth a visit or at least takeout. Had the pan fried branzino which was the special and it didn't disappoint. The trio fujita was also very good Also got a pitcher of margarita which filled about 9 glasses so definitely worth the price

Amazing ambiance. Good menu with fast variety of cocktails and appetizers. The mains are of good portion size and none the less tastes great.

Was randomly waiting at a stop light when I looked over and saw this restaurant. Im so glad I turned around and stop by. The food was fresh, delicious, the atmosphere wasn’t too loud, and the service was great. The prices are affordable and reasonable for what you get. I will definitely be back. Such a gem.

Since we had been to this restaurant once before, we have been obsessing for paella. But, to get to this restaurant during the dinner hour, you take your life into your own hands. It is like driving through Tijuana in a 1957 Chevy convertible. We pulled into the parking lot and we were almost run over by a diesel pickup. It was a nightmare. We entered the restaurant and were met with serenity. The peacefulness and calmness of the dining room was a 180 degree difference from the outside craziness. Our server, Carmen, made us feel at home. She was very gracious. We had mussels and nachos for appetizers and they were both delicious. I have never tasted such a flavorful sauce with mussels. I couldn’t get enough . Then came the paella. The presentation was beautiful. And the flavors were phenomenal. And the amount served for two people is more than plentiful. The food and the service is well worth a visit. Thank you chef and crew.

Really good food with generous portions. We had yucca con chicharon and gambas Al ajijo. Yucca was nice and crispy. Shrimp was perfectly cooked. The lime Mojito and sangria are delicious. 😋

The food was ok but the service was so-so. I ordered taquitos and some pupusas and they tasted better than expected.

Excellent service with kind and generous people. The food is bland or plain. I orderd the crab bisque (that was very good and not bland). The Argentine steak was flavored with chimichurri buy none present. The vegetables were good but plain. If you are diabetic or have flavoring concerns this may be for you. The best flavor came from the habanero sauce i put on my steak. I did have a tres leches that had more a bread not cake consistency. I mean... it wasn't terrible but for $50 all in... I expect more. Again... the staff was fantastic. The place os clean.

This place ruined food for me. No food I have had before or since has been as good. I think about Samantha's food very often. It's really, really, really, good.
