We drove 30 miles for this kitchen. But it turned out to be closed. They called in advance and asked if they were open, to which they answered yes. I called when we arrived and no one picked up!!! It turns out you wasted your time!!!

What an incredible restaurant and such a refreshing authentic environment in the Denver area, incredibly reasonable for pricing we ordered 5-6 different items and I have to say each and every one of them was a fantastic unique taste. 10/10 we will be back for sure.

We made a reservation for 36 people, traveled for 2 hours to have a meal, but the attitude we encountered upon arrival was not pleasant at all. They claimed they thought it was for 6 people and ignored us. They were so rude.

we called ahead for a group of 36 people and got confirmation to get seated, when we all arrived the brunette lady had an attitude from the beginning, refused to sit us and called the chef who is also apparently the owner and told him “i refuse to sit them you can deal with them if you want i refuse to help” all in russian. LITTLE DID THEY KNOW we all speak russian. I told the chef what she said was disgusting and disrespectful and he DIDNT EVEN APOLOGIZE!? Take your business somewhere else. Service sucks, atmosphere and bathroom are dirty.

Great Uzbek food, fast service and amazing atmosphere! We had Olivier Salad, Shurpa soup, manti (large dumplings), a couple kebabs and baklava desert (on the picture) everything was delicious, would definitely return!

We had to book a banquet on short notice, and the restaurant manager was highly responsive. They recommended a menu that fit our budget, accommodated extra guests on very short notice, and provided exceptional food and service.

Very tradition food items available. The food was excellent and would highly recommend. They were out of the dumplings, so I would suggest going there for an early dinner.

Now called Registan Kabob House but still serves Uzbek specialties. I had the Plov. It was very tasty - tender lamb, good seasoning, fast service. This is my first time having Uzbek food, but I’ve watched many Uzbek food videos and at least on appearance is authentic!

Had mostly only the manti here because we were looking for Georgian khinkali. Also had their fruit punch. Both were yummy! We ate outside because we had our dog with us... but the interior looked cute! It had a little music stage. The best thing we tried was their mille crepe cake slice. We got two of those.

Wonderful experience, service was awesome, food was unique and wonderful - favorite had to be the plov! Highly recommend coming here, if you're on the fence just come and experience it

Delicious food, the meat platter (especially the chicken) was excellent, the bread, salads, dumplings, meat and spices puff pastries, all were excellent! We tried a lot and it was very good! The service was good also!

Nice restaurant where you can taste Uzbek and centeal Asian food. The prices are really good. Their shorba and kebabs were really good

Wow it’s like I flew to Russia and ordered in local restaurant. Very good food.

I miss food from Central Asia, especially lagman (soup). Lagman served with noodles and aromatic broth which was a lil bitter and that made its taste flavorful. Honestly, we were already full, and couldn’t finish kebabs which were fresh made. I wish them to have sweets for dessert 😉

Delicious Uzbek food!! Great service!

Every time I go to this restaurant (and any other restaurant in Denver for the records), they don't wash their plates properly. I get sick (covid) every time. My entire family got sick right after going to this place, twice. They don't wash utensils and plates properly after each service. Take only to-go or order in disposal plates if you plan to sit. I don't trust their sanitary anymore.

I really liked the food, the lamb kebab was amazing, along with the appetizer we selected. Sadly, when me and my sister ordered two lamb kebabs, but we got server a single plate with the quantity of 4 skewer and got charge like these were full plates (2 lamb kebabs), even when the menu said that each plate comes with their own 2 sides, I was expecting singles plates for each, but we had to share the rice portions and salad. Looking around to the others customers, each of them had their own plate. Also the menu is pretty inconsistent, some items won’t be available. We also wanted dessert, but the server told us that all the options were out. For the good things, I felt that the server was attentive, the vibe and decorations of the place was nice, along with the music selections, and the flavor of the food was amazing! Sadly those things that happened to us, are making us think twice about coming back.

Decent restaurant offering Uzbek food but very limited options. Many items listed on the menu in google are not available. Very easy to locate and have adequate parking. Food quality was decent, nothing to be excited about.

I really love the food here and desserts but my expectations dropped when I ordered a cake from there (honey cake) I ordered it for a birthday party so I asked how big the cake would be since they gave me price of 120.00. They said it would be a big cake. When I went to go pick it up they had it outside of a refrigerator, sitting on a table where people can easily have access to it. There was also another piece of that same cake with mine and they just took it out of the container and gave it to me. It didn’t seem very sanitary. I try to ask them if that was the cake for 120.00 dollars and they just kept saying yes. I don’t think they understood my concern. The cake was very dry, not what I had tried before. I will not order cake from here again.

Saw the place and decided to go in for the first time to check them out. While ordering, the server asked if I wanted the food cold or hot, I said temperature wise I want it hot. Ordered and paid then went home with it to find out it was refrigerator cold. I decided to go back to have them heat it up or cook it, because I couldn't tell If the meat was raw or cooked and didn't want to risk it. When I got there and told her she made a mistake because I said I wanted it hot. She was arguing with me about how I wanted it cold. (Why would anyone go to a restaurant to get cold food?) unless specified, cold shouldn't be an option. After 3-4 exchanges she decided to take the food back to fix it. Then seconds later everyone in back got loud and speaking in Russian sounds like they were arguing or complaining but it was so unprofessional. Then a different worker walked out. Didn't say anything to us. My husband said hello, he did not respond. Then moments later, still hearing arguments from the back so I told him to just forget it if they are going to argue over this issue. He said they were arguing about something else ( how convenient.) At first I was excited to have discovered them. But after this I will never go back.

The Uzbek beef stew was horrible. The beef was 60 percent disgusting fat so my lunch consisted of only chickpeas.

This was my first visit to Samarkand and I will return. Next time I will take more people so we can try more menu items and share. I especially liked the kebob platter with vegetables. Fresh and flavorful. Leave room for the baklava!

Delicious authentic Russian/Uzbek food. The service was amazing, very attentive young waitress, she made sure we were satisfied. Food came in 10 minutes, which was perfect. Compot is a drink you must try. So grateful to have this place in town.

Why this company write that they work until 10:00 pm, then they finished an better story at 11:30 pm?! And they can sell some products without license ( alcohol), just sad the customers, that they can pay for a bottle!

This place is clean and cool but the menu is not very well they have just few meals and their shish Kabab is better than other meals .

Had a lunch there with my family in DEC'19. As someone who grew up eating this cuisine, I know the difference. Only shish-kebab was cooked to order. Chickpea soup and bread, pretty sure was made/baked at least 48 hours before. Cloth napkin that wraps the utensils had an awkward/mold smell. I was hoping to make this place a pit-stop on the way to the mountains, but will stick to something else. 2 stars are for kebab and tea. Even after moving to DEN still refusing to go there!

The food was alright - we came specifically for the shashlik which was fine but not anything out of this world. The other dishes we ordered had a lack of seasoning throughout and an abundance of olive oil. We’re from Kazakhstan so we know our Uzbek food and this just wasn’t it. The service, however, left so much to be desired. The young man that waited on us seemed confused and disorganized, taking over 10 mins just to give us menus while there were only 2 other tables. We didn’t get our drinks until after the food came out and he seemed upset when I asked for some waters. I also suspect that because I had spoken to the waiter in English, we got the service we got. The tables that came in well into our meal all spoke purely Russian and got served much faster and better than us. Mind you, Russian is our first language but since the waiter started speaking to us in English, we followed suit. A review had compared this place to Nargiz in Brighton Beach - it is so far from it unfortunately. Maybe if you go there enough and are a regular you’ll get better food and service.

Try different places instead. One waitress for whole kitchen and she walks around you with her fingers stuck to her noise. Soo unprofessional and dirty old woman. She makes customers to leave the restaurant faster. Maybe her husband didn't make her happy that night. Overall food was trash and poorest service in the USA believe me.

Honestly expected less. Usually if there's no another traditional restaurant in an area the only restaurant doesn't care about food quality because there would be no competetion. But this restaurant seems to be working hard. Quite, clean restaurant, friendly waiter and of course, authenthic delicious uzbek food. Definately coming again

Но все же решил приехать хоть и не дозвонился, но по приезду ничего не продали так как у них был банкет, можно было отнестись к звонкам в ресторан более серьезно, что бы люди зря не приезжали

Very bad service. We had young man as a waiter, he was so unhappy and very slow. We spend 2 hours there just to have a lunch! I hope owner will read this and can deal with that! And next to our table was sitting young couple, nobody even come to them give a menu, they were waiting for 20min and just left. NOT RECOMENDED!!!

We just dined here for the first time. The food was amazing, the portions were big (too big for one person really so be prepared) and Alena, the waitress is wonderful. Whoever wrote an anti-Russian review below is just spouting their hatred in the wrong place. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service.

Bad service mean people don't respect customer

When my friend asked me where he should celebrate his big event, Samarkand was my number one recommendation. The night turned out to be incredible. Parvina was a huge help when it came to ordering the best food options for the night. It was delicious and a hit with every single person who came. The service was amazing also. If you want to celebrate an event with friends and family, Samarkand restaurant is the best choice!

Halal, delicious Uzbek cuisine! 5 stars. Green tea, Uzbek plov, somusa, kebab 🍢 are the best!

Ok this is a really good and a bad place to dine in. Really good: their Manty, Lagman, samsy, olivye and shorpa are the best. And never forget to order their lepeshki. As long as they cooked them freshly. And the waitress lady Alena is amazing. The Bad: Items on the menu availability are very inconsistent. It’s always best to call ahead and see if they have everything on their menu and if they’re open to public. Sometimes if someone decides to throw a party they’ll just not accept walk ins. Which is wrong. They don’t care about return customers. Because no competition. Please, read this review and try to work on it. Thank you.

Rude employees and salty food. I went to pick up order and employees wouldn't even smile at me. I requested two orders of the same food and they packed it in the same to go box (lazy?) when asked to split it because it was two separate orders, the employee looked angry and "slapped" the food in a different box.

The food was AWESOME. Seriously delicious. Clean restaurant, good service. We will definitely be back!

Best place to try Uzbek food, Plov, kebab, fresh vegetables, fresh bread, and tea are my favorite. The server doesn't speak much English but I got a friend who speaks Russian so we were okay with our orders and the service.

They have the best Kabob in town, It had similar taste of Afghan Kabob.

I went there yesterday! The food is superb! True Uzbek cuisine. My son was crying, while eating the sambusa! He was like back to his home town Tashkent. His grandfather used to buy it for him on the street market. They call it Zakaz somsa. Nostalgia! Anyway I made a catering order from Samarkand restaurant for my wedding! I am sure they will get more visitors after my guests taste their food on my wedding!

Just ate there yesterday, still thinking about how amazing the lamb and oxtail was. Almost drips off the bone. The plov was absolutely amazing.

Wonderful place. Excellent food. They are struggling with getting more staff (who aren't nowadays), so be nice and patient. The food is worth the wait.

I have some things to say. Right off the bat, their bread and Sambusa was good. Pretty much the only reason for the 3 star. Ordered chicken but chicken was not well done. I've never had undercooked chicken before and that was disgusting. I thought I was just full after eating on shish chicken from the bread and sambusa but when I tried to eat leftovers that night, I realized it was half cooked. Please do not send out chicken that is NOT well done. If you're going to put music, at least put Uzbek music. It gives a better ambience.

Food ok, ok kebobs and sambousa. Prices seem to be up. On the recent visit no one to greet, low on staff. This small business appears impacted by China COVID, as the restaurant had only one other customer when we were there.

If it was possible to put minus 5 star that’s what I would choose. Super rude , I’m sure this people don’t understand what is the definition of hospitality . Places like this don’t deserve to stay open . Made a reservation drove 45 min and got kicked out rudely “byeee”

While visiting Denver we stopped by Samarkand to eat our home food and it didn’t disappoint us. First of, its delicious 😋 portions are much bigger than NY Nargiz Cafe lol and very affordable. We came right on the busy weekend and waited a little longer but The waitress was exceptionally polite and apologetic for any inconvenience they may have caused during rush hours. We felt like eating grandma’s foods filled with love and care.

First off, I want to just say that no one in this place speaks English. So it was difficult to place an order, especially since they didn’t have half their menu items! Aside from this setback, let me tell you about their food. It was INCREDIBLE. So. Freaking. Good. I found my new spot type of good. Fresh. Homemade. Delectable. Expensive but soooooo worth it! And it was annoying that they literally didn’t have any of the items I wanted so I just got what they had and guess what? I was very very pleased. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed!

This place is amazing the food was made with love. The meats where so flavorful well seasoned and tender. The meat soup is to die for very rich very flavorful the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone this is the best food I've ever eaten.

I am so disappointed for my takeout food. Assoerted kebab and samsa both not fresh and test not good. I visited this place few times for dine-in and they served me with really good foods. I wish they provide same quality for takeout order as well.
