Delicious food, great service. Found this little gem by accident. Met some great people , I will be back thank you JR!!!!

Our last visit was just that, the last time we will ever go to the Bean. AC vents over the food prep area covered in fizz, dirt and lint. Always wondered how often some fell into customers food. You do not feel like a guest here, but more of a problem that has to be dealt with. So long Bean, wish I could say it has been good.

If I could give this place less than one star I would! I have frequented this establishment many times over the years we have come to Sanibel. For context the island is still recovering from Hurricane Ian and traffic is way down at all businesses. I went in today to buy coffee beans as I recently did a week ago. I was told when I asked to purchase coffee beans they "were not doing that yet." When I said that I had just recently bought beans I was abruptly told "you are mistaken," a phrase that should NEVER be uttered to a paying customer. BTW - I have the bag, receipt and the name of the server who helped me buy the beans last week. When I told the gentleman he was losing business, I got the "I really don't care" look. Needless to say Sanibel Bean has lost a long time customer.

sign says opens at 7 but that is false. i stood outside after 7 while the employees inside ignored me. their coffee isn’t even that good, but i was desperate. i would just go next door and get coffee at the deli

Terrible coffee with no flavor. Ludicrously high prices - 2 coffee drink as and a bagel for $22???

The besr frap ever. I can't wait until they re open. Beware, it is strong! Also makes am awesome pina colada smoothie.

I thought it might be too sweet but I got the island turtle blended with an extra shot and it was delicious! My spouse and I split a gigantic lemon poppyseed muffin. Both our drinks + muffin were only around $20!

$17 for an egg sandwich made on a panini press, and a cup of coffee. also you have a panini press, we're in South Florida where the hell is the Cuban sandwich? This place is basically geared to the more affluent residents of Sanibel Island.

The coffee was fantastic! The island squirrel was my go-to. They have oat milk. Pricey though.

I was on my way to get an iced latte 10 min before closing time, so I gave the courtesy of calling ahead as I was going to be arriving with about 5 minutes prior to closing and really would’ve loved an iced latte! I heard the barista ask the manager over the phone if that was okay and the manager rudely said “no absolutely not,” that they were not going to serve their customers if an order was placed less than 10 minutes before closing time. They also cut their Wi-Fi service a whole HOUR before closing. How is this conducive to modern day life and the many vacationers who work from home and on the road?! I thought it was incredibly rude and very poor customer service. In addition, a member of my family went for coffee one morning, only to find the entire café was closed that day despite it being normal hours listed online. The management of this coffee shop, and maybe even the ownership is deeply flawed! And that is unfortunate, as Sanibel Island only has a few sources for coffee enjoyment 😒

It was ok but a bit overpriced. Service was good and drinks were provided quickly. $5.75 for a small cappuccino. Scones were tasty. Atmosphere was again a 3 with trash cans in the hall and no real ambiance to the shop. Didn’t hate it, didn’t love it. Capp was ok…3 of 5. So, there may be better places around I don’t know. This place was sufficient for coffee and a bite. Not racing back.

The Sanibel Bean had some of the best coffee on the island. Their blended beverages were unmatched my personal favorite being the Cinnamon Bun!

A couple of mocha drinks which were served promptly nice variety of options. Convenient location.

Customer service was nonexistent in this establishment. The girl taking the order was rushing us and we were literally the only people in there. We asked for liquid sugar for our espresso and they looked at us like we were crazy and said "no!" Food was just okay! My iced Chai tea was good but the espresso was to strong and couldn't dissolve the sugar.

Cafe Cubano was a bit to sweet for meet, but all the speciality mochas we had were amazing

There would be pictures of our food with this review but we ate it so quickly I didn’t get a chance to snap some shots! They offer a great selection of yummy breakfast and lunch items. I found the pricing to be no different than our local coffee shops back home.

The staff working today were in an argument which lead them to be very rude to the guests about when the grill closes. It was 1:00 but closed at 2. Very rude and off putting

I came here three times during my holiday. The first time was right before closing and the staff was incredibly kind and still offered make my drink. The subsequent two visits I received the worst and most rude service imaginable. Avoid coming in the morning as the morning staff are very rude. The afternoon crew is great.

Perfect little coffee shop on Sanibel

I don’t recall ever paying $5.00 for a small cup of black coffee that wasn’t that good! Used to be a small friendly place with reasonable prices. Yikes! What happened. Not returning.

Disappointed. Staff seemed annoyed, regular coffee was self-serve and cold. They were out of almond milk; and price was high. Service=fail Quality=fail Price=fail If things don't change they won't be alond long....

The coffee was quick and they had TONS of unique options for latte flavors. The Tropical Breeze was delicious.

My husband and I stopped here while we were biking the island. Didn’t care for the vibe of the place and definitely not a fan of the coffee. Wouldn’t recommend.

This is an island staple. It's a great place to have a coffee and relax. Also a great place to sit for a while and read or get some work done. I do wish the food menu had some more vegetarian/vegan options and I wish they were open a little later in the day, but I still love this place.

So not worth the price. We ordered 3 large iced coffees, no frill and it was $22. The cups weren't even filled up and when I asked about almond milk the girl was a total smartalic and said it was extra charge and just walked away. When asked for clarification on which drink was which the Barista was so rude when she was misunderstood and shot back with a horrible tone that should never being given to a customer. I will never be coming back.

I’ve been here multiple times and every time I go they don’t have good customer service, when I went today it was honestly the worst experience I’ve had at a cafe. the lady checking me out was so rude. I came five minutes before they closed to get a drink on the way home and i asked for a to-go lid because where I live we mostly use dome lids, and i was biking. The lady was very rude about telling me they use flat lids. And my drink tastes like shittt 😂😂

We've been coming here for years and the cappuccino never disappoints. And we'll grab a pound to bring home. Fresh fruit salad made to order and is top notch. Love the bean.

Nice variety and good coffee, but I feel that $15 for two specialty coffees is a bit much. To be expected for an island destination though.

The cost of a small dark roast coffee was 5.00. My wife and I had two small coffees and the total came to 10.01, which I still can't figure out. The coffee tasted like dark colored water and more importantly how can I get away with charging five dollars for a small cup of coffee? This place is terrible.

The coffee was good but way too expensive! Two small plain coffees was 10$. Not worth the money. We’ll be finding another coffee shop!

Ordered a few coffee drinks, pretty pricey ($7-10) Asiago bagel with cream cheese was good. Avocado toast was nothing special. Tasted like a premade avocado spread. It took a little longer than normal. The guy was busy preparing the food. Young girl at the counter was there to ring up your total and then was testing on her phone.

I went to this coffee shop since I recently moved to sanibel with my partner thinking it would be our new favorite spot.. I figured I’d rather spend money at a small business on Sanibel then the other places… I will start off with saying the lattes we ordered were fantastic. The customer service on the other hand was not. We weren’t greeted but Linda kept saying “I’ll be right with you I’ll be right with you” for about 5 minutes. Not a big deal I understand things happen. Although it wasn’t busy. She finally gets to us and asks what we would like I told her what I wanted and Linda said the grill closed 4 minutes ago and we missed the opportunity to have food 4 minutes ago. No biggie so I just said I’ll have avocado toast thinking the grill was for other food she rudely said while waving her hands around “we’re closed the grills closed” as if I was incompetent. So I just ordered the lattes. She told us our number and we sat down. A couple minutes later she yelled across the cafe and said “somebodies coffees are sitting here who’s coffee is this you ordered coffee” so I got up and grabbed it already frustrated since we were the only ones to have ordered coffee and was sitting right infront of her. . As I sat down I talked with my girlfriend about how we were being treated. Another couple walked in and her whole attitude changed she explained what they could have since the grill was closed and what she could do for them since there was no more cooking options available. She continued to offer options and talk about the food on days where they don’t close as well as their hours and what times they serve what. She offered wraps and bagels ect. We felt we were either being treated differently due the fact that we were gay. I don’t recommend this place and I will not be coming back due to the way Linda treats guests. It’s a shame since it’s such a cute atmosphere and they have unique latte options. I will not be recommending this place to friends, family or coworkers. I gave two stars because the lattes were great but unfortunately Linda’s customer service left more of a bitter taste in my mouth than the coffee.

The latte and cappuccino we ordered were great! Unfortunately the young female cashier was rude when we ordered. She seemed pained to be working there. We took a table near the door and noticed she was curt/rude to everyone, not just us.

Overpriced and order was messed up several times. 6$ for an iced tea is ridiculous and no refills even at that price. Food was okay. Bagel was fresh.

Love this coffee shop. Great coffee drinks. Very friendly staff. Although I haven’t tried the food they have a great selection and it all smells delicious. Great place to stop for a delightful coffee drink to start your day.

View is good. Bagels were very good. We had an incorrect order that had to be corrected. Prices are way too expensive. $6 for an unsweetened iced tea. Staff appeared to be confused. Recommend you look for other alternatives.

Stopped here for some morning coffee and breakfast before a beach day. Coffee was good, but the breakfast sandwiches were GREAT! Also, VERY dog friendly. They had no problem with me holding my small dog to come in and order as they do not have servers for outside tables. It is on the pricey side, two small coffee and two breakfast sandwiches with a side of cream cheese was around $34, so be aware of that before you plan to stop. We will more than likely visit again!

4.25 stars.Coffee was pretty good. Food was pretty good. Staff was friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We waited a while for our coffee order and our food was ready well before our beverages and we didn't order anything fancy, just 2 iced coffee's. The only location the flavorings and bagel selections are listed, are on a small turn box by the register. So if it's your first visit, you may need to make a few quick decisions depending on your order.

Coffee was great!!! Smokiness inside because of the grill, not good.

The vibe was a amazing uplifting experience with the cool inspirational quotes on the walls not to mention the food was delicious

Cute little coffee spot on the main road of the island great muffins and bagels only complaint is a little pricey but to be expected I suppose but 19.28 for a large coffee, latte, bagel and muffin seems a bit steep. Def stop and check this place out if you’re looking a coffee spot but be aware the prices.

We visited this place after a nice long bike ride. The place is nice inside and staff was okay, didnt really do anything to stand out. The prices were way expensive and would not return

Love coming to The Bean whenever we come to Sanibel. Great service, the food is simple but fresh and tasty.

A great locally owned place to get coffee and breakfast. The food portions are big so bring your appetite. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. It's a popular spot so the line can get long but it usually moves rather quickly.

It's the perfect little place on Sanibel. The coffee and chai is good, the sandwiches are delicious, and the staff are friendly.

This is our coffee go to while we are on the island! My wife and I enjoy getting our coffee and sitting out on the porch! Not sure how the food is. Coffee and smoothies are good!

Needed some cool brew in the morning, we tried their caramel iced coffee, absolutely delicious. Not bitter and not overly sweet. They know what their doing.

Friendly staff and delicious ice cold drinks. The lattes are a little sweet so go light on the flavor. Otherwise highly recommend for a quick pick-me-up.

Was not able to visit during our last as they were closed for vacation. We definitely wanted to visit before it was time to leave. My wife ordered the blended coffee with just the espresso. She enjoyed it. It had good coffee flavor and was not overly sweet. I had the Sanibel medium roast. It was a fresh brew and very delicious. It was not too strong. Staff was very friendly and seemed to enjoy working together.

We were on Sanibel yesterday. The island had many people on it, despite it no longer being high season. But The Bean was empty except for 2 women and us. They no longer have ice cream - they used to have the best on the island and it was a hopping place. My husband, who can't eat ice cream, normally gets one of their delicious cookies but all they had were a few scones. It was just a sad experience.

This is the best Coffee shop on Sanibel Island! The flavors are great and I'd say it's almost better than Starbucks!

What a cute little place! We were taking the kiddos to the park across the street and needed some energy and the Sanibel Bean was right there. We have been to to island many times before but seem to have missed this place before. We got a large blended coffee, ice chai tea and a couple of breakfast sandwiches for about $28. The prices are pretty good for that you get. The bagel sandwiches come with fruit as an added bonus. They were very accommodating to make a few changes to my order and were so friendly. We felt welcomed when we arrived and left happy. Definitely a worthy stop.

If you are looking for your morning cup of coffee, you’ve found it. They have all specialty drinks as well. And if you are like me and did of espresso, this is the best one on the island. Not to mention their avocado toast is fantastic and fresh. Add and egg, you won’t regret it.

I've never had coffee like this. It has an unusual, tropical flavor or something. Way beyond Starbucks and DD, but maybe a little too fruity for coffee snobs. I love it.

The Breakfast Burrito (hash- because it includes hashbrowns in the burrito) was huge! Came with bacon 🥓 eggs cheese and hash browns... cut half with grapes and two orange 🍊 slices and the salsa was great for breakfast! The cranberry orange muffins also very good....
