We had a great experience dining here. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We didn't get to sit by the river but the ambiance of the restaurant was still very nice. Our server, Rose, was excellent!

The exterior of the building is filthy. Dirt and peeling paint everywhere. Inside hasn't been updated since 1975. The tables are all gouged up, the chairs uncomfortable, no tablecloths. We started with 2 mixed drinks which were really watered down. We ordered bread and olive oil, $4.00. In a normal restaurant, it's free. (It was good.) Then we ordered calamari, also was pretty good. I ordered a second drink and waited 20 minutes for it. For the main course we had linguini pescatore and Pollo al marsala. Both were just ok. The risotto was good. The sauce in the linguini was watery and had a strong alcohol taste because the dish was under cooked. I probably won't go back. I feel like this place is highly over rated. My review might be 3.5 stars if I could do that. But definitely not 4 stars.

Went mid-week, the 21st, it was busy - that's fine. So when our meal was taking a bit that was just fine, too - we just thought their kitchen was busy and weren't fussed about it at all. Then the waiter came to us - we hadn't asked, and claimed that our meal is late because "another server must have grabbed it", we thought that was kinda weird but reassured the waiter that wasn't a big deal. A while later the meal finally arrived, but not the salad that came with one of the meals - and before anyone asked, yes, it definitely came *with* the meal, we were even asked what dressing we'd like. We were going to ask for the salad once we realized it had been skipped but no one stopped to ask if all was well with the meal like one expects to happen at a sit-down restaurant - no matter how busy. Later, when the waiter took away our plates we asked that we be comped or receive a discount for the missing salad. We were told "No, we don't do that because it comes free with the meal." WHAT? Salad is not "Free with the meal", it is *PART* of some of the meals. We were both too shocked to respond before the waiter ran off to get the check. And no, no discount was on the receipt. We always tip *at least* 20%. That night it was maybe 5%. Was it a bad waiter, or is that how Sarducci's does business? Tell the customers tough, it was free anyhow? btw - the definitely "free with the meal" bread was awful. It used to be lovely, the one served last week was almost like cardboard.

Friday, August 23 at 5pm dinner. Waitstaff was on autopilot and my Gluten free and dairy free options were limited and my salad came out with balsamic dressing which swelled my tongue and ruined my sleep and digestion. Please, please, please listen to your “guests” when they have dietary needs. The herb vinaigrette that I ordered would be have kept me from a migraine and ruining my weekend. We could not get our wait server’s attention during our meal and I was taking rescue meds in the bathroom when the check was picked up.

We stopped by for a quick lunch on a trip from Boston to Montreal. We had the Mediterranean chicken pasta and Siciliana Pizza. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was super friendly and very welcoming. We will visit again for sure.

Food was better than expected! The service was pretty good especially considering how busy it was. My only ‘complaint’ was how hot it was in the restaurant, it seemed like there was no AC and the thermostat next to our table read over 80 degrees, but other than that I would certainly go back.

Extremely loud when busy. If you're prone to feeling anxious with a roaring crowd bring ear plugs. The food is really good. Quality over quantity. Service was good. Lighting is extremely dim. If you have trouble reading up close you'll need a flashlight or phone light to see the menu. Good for a date but maybe when it's not packed.

Amazing food. Far too crowded and the staff were so overwhelmed, I felt bad for them. Amazing food! And desserts were incredible. Party of 5, we each had different meals, and they were all great! About 5 steps to get in, not at all wheelchair or walker accessible.

We love to stop here on our drive between Montreal and Boston. Tasty food, reasonable prices, good service. Family - friendly.

The food was very good, but I suppose I am accustomed to a greater volume for the price the bill came in at. The selection of draft beer was limited. The location was nice, but the seating was cramped all around. They sure do pack them in! My waitress had too many tables and was overworked, meaning she barely checked in on us. Too bad for them, really, because I would have drank lots more alcohol. But as it went, the waitress dropped off my meal and I ate it entirely, down to the last speck of risotto, before she ever came by again and then, we had to force the interaction because she was not checking in on us.

Had lunch at Sarducci's yesterday. Indoor atmosphere was perfect! Food was delicious and Warren, our server, was great! We will be back to have some pizza!!!

Delicious fare in a lovely setting along the river in downtown Montpelier. Excellent staff and chefs. Acoustics are not great for conversing and there are always people queueing for the loos when the restaurant is busy. And isn't it always busy? Highly recommend. A friends and family favorite for decades.

I’ve been wanting to go here for years, and I was not disappointed! Lovely ambiance for a date, or a night out in the capital. My mom and I had a wonderful dinner here, and I absolutely recommend!

Nice atsmosphere, poor, bland food. The sauce on both of our pastas were pretty watery and it basically tasted like plain noodles..the service was good.

Normally when we go it is spot on but it was very disappointing food, service. I have to say the strung out inked up waitress are not for looking at. We had a Latino style white trash waitress inked up and piercings in her face. Like I think if you want to cater to trash I guess you'll start hiring like it. The place has changed with staffing tremendously. The owners stop caring who they hire. Food. We got the salmon dinner which the size of salmon was barely 4oz and scorched, dried no flavor, and eight small asparagus burnt to a crisp.

Wow, the food is excellent, as is the service. We are visiting from out of state, and this place outdid itself with the deliciousness of the food. Oh, don't forget to have dessert.

Too salty: While it is not their fault I have high blood pressure, the eggplant parmesan tasted like someone imported it from Utah. The food wasn’t cheap either. It was a first-last time I’m gonna drop money on this place. To their credit, the bartender was very nice. She gave me water with lemon. Wish I had some more water. I sure am thirsty after eating at Saltducci’s . I mean “Sarducci’s”

The food was really good. I had been there years and years ago and did not remember it being as good as it was, but like in all things, memories fade. They make each dishes to order, which is the way you want it. Had we had more time in Montpellier we for sure would have gone again. It's been there quite a long time so they're not going anywhere. I'll be back next time

First time here... Food and service was great

I had a delicious meal of sirloin steak scallopini with spinach, mushroom, Gorgonzola sauce and fried polenta. The wine list, both bottles and glasses, is quite long. Sitting on the porch with the Winooski River flowing by on a late spring evening was very pleasant. This place knows how to be a good restaurant-experienced wait staff, consistently good food, welcoming traditional atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, and the menu has a variety of Italian specialties.

We enjoyed the gluten free pasta and pizza crust.

Waitress was angry and had an attitude during our visit. The food was amazing and sitting on the porch wad nice.

We stopped at Sarducci's by a referral from a random stranger over an hour away. It didn't disappoint!!! The atmosphere was perfect, the staff are friendly and very helpful. The food...... 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤩 A++ Don't pass through Montpelier without eating here.

One of the best restaurants in Central (or all) Vermont. A local favorite.

Me and my girlfriend were traveling out of town this is one of the only restaurants open until 9:00 p.m. we got there at about 8:15 we had muscles which were delicious my girlfriend was in love with the salmon I had the veal I'm used to then crispy deal this was a little thicker was kind of like a chewy steak I give that a 5 out of 10. Staff was very nice and cheerful. We were in and out within a half an hour which was very good we like to sit down and eat okay and leave as soon as possible. Didn't take many pictures as we were still looking for hotels.

I have been coming to Sarduccis periodically throughout the last several years while I travel north of Montpelier to see my aunt. I have literally never had a mid or bad meal at Sarduccis. Everything has always surprised me at the quality, effort, and plating. The service has always been top notch, the servers super accommodating and down to earth. I just went yesterday with my foodie friend from NH and he got the chicken marsala, and he claimed it was the best marsala he's ever had in his life. Please send regards to the chefs. I got the 10oz NY strip and requested rare. I received rare, it was a decent quality steak with good flavor on the seasoning and an adequate sear.

Other than being very loud, a great time was had by all.

Very good, legitimate, Italian in downtown Montpelier. The Italians who immigrated to work Barre’s granite quarries, left more than just their last names in granite. They left a good piece of their Italian heritage that still enriches Montpelier.

The lobster ravioli with shrimp was delicious, and the portion was the perfect size 👌 beautiful view and venue.

Such a wonderful dinner. We love the ambiance and sat by the river with the windows open. The staff is super nice especially Warren. We had the lobster ravioli and the mussel pasta and it was so fresh and delicious. The homemade tiramisu was also really good. Def recommend this place!

This restaurant was amazing! The employees were very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend this local spot to anyone looking for a quick, but delicious, bite to eat. We arrived around 7pm and were seated almost immediately and our food arrived very quickly, which we were surprised by because the place was very busy at the time. They also had a small dessert menu with some very delicious looking desserts, we ended up ordering the Italian Lemon Cream Cake, and I must say, that was the best lemon cake I have ever had! Again, I definitely recommend! :) :)

It was perfect. Went up for the eclipse and found a similar Louis restaurant from the Bronx straight outta the Godfather right off the highway. Wasn't sure what I was getting into when the wife told me the youngest kid wants us to bring him to VT for the eclipse but finding Sarduccis right in front of me made my day! We ate they went to watch the eclipse and I hung out with the greatest staff great food drinks couldn't of been better! 😊 This would be my stake out if I lived here! Oh and my sons pulled pork Mac and cheese was incredible. I've been in the restaurant business for 50 years and we always had the best homemade food we'd get written up on but I never tasted anything so good like this pork Mac and cheese excellent and homemade! 😊 ❤️

From the bread, to the pasta, to the drinks, Sarduccis is a great place to spend an evening catching up with friends or going out on a date. It has a cozy yet slightly upscale interior and during the summer they have a deck that looks out onto the river.

Great menu selection and delicious dishes that were slightly on the smaller side. I got the Mediterranean chicken dish which was penne pasta and sauce with kale and other vegetables over a lean piece of chicken. The chicken was good but on the smaller side and it was probably a quarter of a pound of pasta. The wait was a bit. We got there at around 12 but the food wasn't out until close to 1:20. The bread and oil they gave was very good and helped in holding us over til the food arrived. All in all it was a good experience but fairly busy for a weekday and a bit of a wait.

On the night of the eclipse, when everyone in New England apparently went to Montpelier, we had early reservations at Sarducci's. We sat down with a tired two year old (rookie error) and immediately decided to get pizza to go. I can't begin to describe how nice and pleasant and accommodating the staff was. Maybe they were glad we were leaving and a table was free, but they sent over a friendly young lady to take our to go order and our pizzas were ready quickly. The hostess had everything in that busy restaurant under control. I don't know how the staff was all smiling and welcoming, but they were. The pizza was eaten in our hotel room and it was delicious. We hope to go back without a tired toddler. Thank you.

Food was OK, for what they served me. Chicken Parm, seems pretty straight forward….chicken & parmesan cheese. Nope, apparently what they serve is chicken sausage (ground up and heavily over seasoned), molded onto a panini, and then called “chicken”. Then having to pay BEFORE I was served my food and being gouged $3.50 for a seltzer water out of the gun…..smh. The only places I’ve EVER been forced to pay prior to receiving my food, were fast food restaurants. Not a great experience.

Stopped in on the night of the eclipse April 8 to request a table only to be turned away "because we are booked". 😞 Disappointed

Reliable good food and great service, though busy and the (lovely) tim ceiling makes the main dining room noisy. That's the on k y downside.

Went there post eclipse and some our party was late. They said they would seat us later as party was there and table was open. We got seated promprly. Food was great and service was excellent. Sich an intensly busy night but the staff did a wonderful job accommodating with a good attitude.

We stopped in randomly as we pulled off the highway. Service was friendly and welcoming. Mediterranean chicken was amazing. Great wood fired pizzas.

The menu is good, our food was tasty. For a restaurant that has been able to hone its menu over several decades, though, I was surprised that I was not blown away. The Arancini was our favorite part of our experience. Order the specials for a nice treat. We had a pizza, a pasta dish, and a chicken special. Each of us enjoyed our dish, but not enough to ask for a to go box. The interior tends to get very lively (loud) as it fills up in the evening, so plan for or around that.

Always great food and service . Would give 5 stars but they no longer offer GF bread with garlic oil. 😔 Please consider bringing it back. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely a wonderful experience. I had a pasta dish with lobster ravioli and shrimp and it was quite good. My husband had a chicken pasta dish that was also quite good. Nice fresh hot bread that was scrumptious with the garlic and olive oil dip. With a lack of visual spices, I thought the bread would be bland, but it was surprisingly good. Good service, nice portion size, and a well balanced cocktail. We will definitely be back!!!

First time here with ny two daughters the lobster ravioli I had was exceptional, it was simply very good and tasty. My daughters plates on the other hand, were both just ok. One daughter ordered a steak medium cooked it came medium rare. My other daughter order chicken Alfredo which the chicken was soggy and over seasoned. The server was slow she forgot my rootbeer till the very end when we were done eating did she bring it to me. Hostess and host were exceptional. But server and food were just ok.

All the food we ordered tasted great! Portions are slightly small for the price.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner on a Sunday night at Sarducci’s. The Polo Marsala with risotto was very tasty. My husband had the eggplant parm and it was cooked in the wood fired oven. We finished dinner with a perfect Cappuccino. Bueno! Great dining and enough to enjoy leftovers.

Food is consistently good. Large portions and prices are still fair. I gave them 4 stars for the atmosphere because the middle of the restaurant is so noisy it can be hard to hear. They really need some soundproofing.

Found this place on our way back from Boston to Montreal and so glad we did!! Amazing service, fabulous food! The white sauce ravioli and both the pizzas we ordered were fantastic. Really lucky we found this spot, it was the perfect end to our road trip!

The plus is that they have a nice decor and busy atmosphere. The menu is the archetype of an Italian restaurant and bar. The food is bland and definitely nothing to write home about. Positive Pie is a better alternative.

I recently dined at Sarduccis, and while the atmosphere was pleasant, I must express my profound disappointment with the dining experience. To my disbelief, this so-called Italian restaurant charges extra for bread. In what world does an Italian establishment make patrons pay for a basic staple like bread? This unexpected and absurd additional charge cast a shadow over the entire dining experience, leaving me appalled. It's disheartening when a seemingly simple element like complimentary bread becomes a sticking point, tarnishing the overall enjoyment of the meal. Sarduccis, take note: prioritizing profit over customer satisfaction is a surefire way to lose repeat business.

The tomato soup was seriously delicious and the Eggplant Panini was great too. Nice view of the Winooski river from the indoor porch tables.

Prompt service with a smile. The cocktails were excellent and the main course was divine. I tried lobster ravioli for the first time and was not disappointed. I'm looking forward to trying something new again the next time I go.

Been a few times, great Italian food and wine selection. Excellent that they're open on Sundays which few places in the area are. A bit of trouble accommodating my wife's egg allergy, not in a dangerous way, they were very cautious which we appreciate of course, but the options were very limited.

Wonderful setting for a restaurant with excellent Italian food. Our party had a variety of meals and all were excellent. The garlic bread dip was awesome, but the bread was either stale or over cooked or warmed. Unfortunately our waitress seemed to more concerned with talking to the other staffers which wasn't well received at our table. Despite this one off, I would absolutely recommend Sarduccis.

The guy put me and my daughter at very small table in the corner. The ceaser chicken wrap that I order it was most letters,little bit of chicken inside. The waitress didn't even come to ask how was the food.

Fun place with lively atmosphere. The food was outstanding! One of my best meals I absolutely love Italian food, and I would make an effort to hit this place again the next time I am in Vermont.

What a pleasant surprise this restaurant was! Recommended by a local woman we stopped a few blocks away. We were tourists and had no idea what was good. We utilized her suggestion, and the food was fantastic! So glad that's where we wound up eating! I had pasta in a lobster sauce; it was as tasty as it sounds.

We have been coming to Sarducci’s for the last six years, and unfortunately today, our lunch was mediocre. The bruschettas were burnt, my dish had no taste, the salmon was cold, except for the sandwiches that were ok. I hope today was exceptional, and food will go back to what is was.

Sarducci’s is one of the most well know Italian places in the area, serving a variety of cuisine, cocktails and alcohol. A nice place to stop by for brunch, lunch or dinner in Montpellier. Ambience and lighting is romantic. 2 restrooms are available for guests.

My husband and I were here last week for our anniversary trip. We ended up eating here back to back nights because the food and service was incredible. We both had the Veal Marsala Entree, it was the best veal we have ever eaten. Our server named Emma went above and beyond to make our experience great. She spent time at our table to tell us her recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area and even drew us a map to get to each place. Thank you to Emma and sarducci’s for making our first trip to Vermont a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again if we’re back in the area.
