Small place with great food and odds and ends. The food is always great and they serve it up fast.

The him Italians from this store has never disappointed me every time we come in from Texas we always make it a point to eat here multiple times during our trip. It was a little sad or disheartening this time to see that it is up for sale but like I said this place is amazing if you're in the area you really needs to try one of their sandwiches or their pizza. Hopefully If it sells the new owners will keep everything the same.

My go to for a quick lunch or breakfast sandwich.

I've ordered from here several times now and I always get a friendly greeting when I come in and a thank you when I leave. Hands down best Italian sandwiches in the area with fresh ingredients and the best sub roll. I always add penny candy to my order that they have on sale!

I will never forget this. I went there a long time ago. I ordered a hamburg pizza with lots of sauce. While the guy was making the pizza I politely asked for more sauce on it and he gave me a hard time and basically said it wouldn't happen again. I was just flabbergasted. Sauce is the cheapest thing on a pizza. I make pizza at home and can get a 7 pound can of sauce (12 measured cups) for $8. Five bucks if I buy a case of six from a distributor. It was at least 20 years ago but I still remember because it was just so weird. What a bizzare, pointless battle to pick with a customer. Didn't even get the option to pay more for more sauce. I don't remember if the pizza was any good or not, but I have not been back since, nor will I. I shouldn't have to fight for what I want. It's not worth it. Don't let the unassuming appearance of the modest little corner store deceive you: though Scotty's specializes in WIC groceries, cheap beer, and lottery tickets, the family running it really know quality when it comes to pizza, and the sauce is tangier, the toppings abundant, and the cheese more buttery, on their pizzas than most larger businesses around town, plus they have such timeless niche items as tuna melts and "hamburg royale". They also sell "pizza kits" that are cheaper than the supermarket alternative, and far better quality, for the DIYer. My daughter even thought pizza wasn't all that good, and didn't understand why people went so crazy for it, until she had some Scotty's pizza (with pepperoni, olives, and mushrooms) and said she now understands why people love pizza so much! As for me, I am a tougher customer: I have had some pinnacle Chicago-style deep dish as well as New York thin-slice (foldable) in some world-class cities, and while Scotty's doesn't rate as highly as all those, it's one of the better pizzas I have had in Maine, and the sauce tastes like pizza sauce should: not bland and sickly-sweet, nor so sparingly applied as to be nearly absent, like other local places I have tried. It tastes like actual pizza, and the cheese really stands out for flavor.
