Menu is extremely limited, even for a steak house. Seating is limited and the host forgot to even let someone know were here. Found multiple long hairs in my salad. Overcooked my $50 Ribeye into oblivion. Prices dont really reflect the quality/quantity of food. Not impressed with this restaurant at all. Go somewhere else like snappers or oor anywhere else😂 and save your money

We had a little confusion in the seating situation. We were told it was an hour wait. No problem, we will grab a drink at the bar. After an hour we cash out and the bartender tells us that patrons cannot sit at the bar and only order drinks. He was very pleasant and suggested good wine but was rightfully so, a little annoyed. ! Anyway we were seated after 90 minutes and it was well worth the wait. My husband raved about the ribeye, juicy and cooked to perfection. I don’t eat meat. I know, why come to a chophouse? I ordered a salad with the shrimp and scallop skewers. Very tasty! And the Brussels sprouts… crispy and delicious! It was a great meal and our server was attentive.

Usually impressed when I dine here. This year I decided to go for the pork chop instead of steak. Chop was massive and undercooked. Pick the steak.. Augratin Potatoes were spot on.

The service was amazing. The food exceptional. The chophouse shrimp gravy is perfect. Used the crisp moist bread to soak up the yummy gravy 😋 the ribeye steak juicy moist seasoned and grilled to perfection. The porkchop I needed a goody bag.

amazing experience at this location, was staying here for work and decided to try this hidden gem before i left. ordered the rib eye (medium/well) and it was an absolute banger! very tender and the sides were very delicious aswell. everything was perfectly balanced from table service to the atmosphere, definitely would recommend to take a loved one or if you just craving good food!

better get there by 430 if you want a seat! but definitely worth it

Listen, every course got better. We started off with the bacon wrapped scallops and they were absolutely delicious! Next I had their salad which is so well balanced and yet it was like eating candy! Loved it. Then the ribeye was cooked perfectly and the crust was so good! Finally, and I can’t say this enough… if all you do is get the chocolate cake… it will change your life. It’s the kinda thing that just shakes your a priori assumptions about what “the good life” is really all about… it is the best thing I’ve tasted and I’m not really a chocolate guy… I do want to mention as a big part of the experience, the staff is top notch. Our waiter knew his stuff and he was very friendly while being very professional and on top of every detail. It’s what fine dining is all about. So special thanks to the staff, they make the amazing food… perfect.

Surf & Turf was excellent. Filet was perfectly cooked. We came in after being at the beach all day.

Overall an expensive, mediocre dinner. Every steak ordered at our table was over done by at least two heat levels. Medium rare porterhouse? Medium well. Medium well filet? Show flipping leather done. They asked if they can butterfly the filet to let to be more even cook, which I normally agree as filets are thick and difficult to cook to that level without either under cook or over. But these filets were tiny, 1.5" cuts. Butterflying these cuts left thin sliced steak and then they charcoaled them. This wasn't an off steak from an entire table, every steak (8+) was overly done to the point of inedible. Service was nice but honestly, it should be. The restaurant is tiny, the waiter does not have to travel to see to your needs. The restaurant needs an update to their ventilation as well. The entire space was smoke filled and overly hot after only an hour or so open. Needless to say, we won't waste our time here again. Better, more consistent, and cheaper steaks can be had just about anywhere

different COOK and A young inexperienced server who gave me in my son attitude and didn’t even ask us if we needed anything or how our meal was. I spent $153 and I wasn’t even allowed another bottle of water or dessert. My son and I usually receive very good service from this restaurant and I hope it was just a problem with the server and not the restaurant. I appreciate the discount that the manager applied to our table, but that’s not what I was there for. I don’t want discounted service. But I would appreciate decent service

Very good food. Small dining area do go early or you’ll wait awhile. They will do (call when ready) seating. Nice waitress.

This place was recommended by our concierge at the Don and it was fantastic. The fried goat cheese was amazing! Wife got the NY strip with Dan’s favorite sauce and I got the ribeye. I’ve paid a lot more at other steakhouses and this was one of the best Ribeyes I’ve ever had. Great prices and steaks come with amazing salad, bread service with honey butter and side. Get there early and enjoy!

This place does not look like much from the outside but the inside is darling, the staff were excellent and the food was REALLY good. Our steaks were perfectly cooked to our liking and the portions were more than enough.

This IS a great steak place. There are fancier, more formal, and more expensive beef palaces, but 1200 is up there with them. What you don't get is fancy atmosphere, wine service with a fake French accent, and over the top prices. What you do get is quality beef, good sauces, included salad and starch, and a price that I thought quite reasonable. Wine and beer only, the list should please 85% or more. The bar is for dinner, all the seats being set up. The place is crowded. It has a small footprint and is usually at capacity when open. The service is quick, and tables turn quickly. They do not take reservations so call ahead to check the crowd. It starts to fill around 5. There is a reason they are so busy, don't hesitate to give it try.

Update: Came back again this year and still have rave reviews! Jason was our server again and did an excellent job. We just love this place. The quality of the food is second to none! This place is EXCELLENT!! We’ve never been there before and always skip it because it’s steak and we want to eat fresh seafood while we’re in town. I wanted the pan seared sea bass but unfortunately they were out. Should have got there earlier 🙃. We ended up ordering the Ribeye Oscar style and the Filet Mignon Oscar and they were both top notch. The bacon wrapped scallops were so good as an appetizer. We will definitely be making another trip here the next time we’re in town!! Jason was our server. He was wonderful and made it a great experience. Sitting on the patio in the fresh air watching the sun set was nice too.

We heard it was great. NOT! My ribeye was overdone. It was returned and redone. The second one was ok. They don't cook steak on an open grill. It looked fried. Her filet mignon was good. The salad was very good. The restaurant is very small, and even though we showed just after 5, we had to eat outside. The traffic noise and heat made it uncomfortable. The coffee served, even though fresh was lacking. The seating was flat and uncomfortable. The waiting area had better seating. Their parking is very limited. Hope you don't get blocked in. This place is very popular, but we shall not return for a $100 disappointment.

Max Andrews, the Manager is the PERFECT host! We feel like guests in his home when we visit, and the food is soooo good. The Chilean Sea Bass is the BEST I have had, and last night I had the rack of lamb with a port reduction sauce. With 8 large chops (meant for 2 diners) I had a huge portion to take home for tonight. Still great tonight, with still more left over! We brought some friends who had never been there and they were delighted with their meals (steak and the Sea Bass), and will likely be back very soon, hopefully with us.

You can't call it an insider tip given the number of reviews, but stop here after a day at the beach, eat great, have great service. Fulfilling day!!

Find a restaurant at the height of summer, sweat pouring down your face, where patrons line up outside 30 minutes before doors open. Different day. same ritual. Ribeye…sliced, medium = mouthwatering crust. With truffle Parmesan fries..crispy wedges of unctuousness. Broccoli…delish (and who writes a review about broccoli lol) the list honestly goes on. I honestly debated on writing this review out of pure selfishness and not wanting an even bigger line to wait behind. Though with a 4.5 star rating I felt compelled to do this restaurant justice. There is no way it hasn't earned a solid 5 star. From atmosphere and service to flavor profiles and quality. Our favorite in town hands down. Enjoy!

I really wanted to like this place. Everyone we spoke to loved it so maybe we had a bad meal but I don’t love it. Food was ok especially for the cost. Service was great though and everyone that worked there was super nice and helpful.

Easily one of the best Tomahawk steak I have ever had in a restaurant! The restaurant doesn't take any reservations, so be there early. Great service, the server actually reminded us that the gratuity was already included which almost never happens and he was spot on with the entire service. This place is a must if you are in the area!

Very tasty Steakhouse with good service. Not a stuffy type of place. Very tiny, but it was worth the 20 minute wait. Steak was cooked perfectly and baked potato was HOT. So nice to get a hot potato where the butter actually melts. Didn't like nuts and Bleu cheese on the salad, but most people do.

Never had the chance to try the food. It says on their website that they have takeout. I walked over from Island Grand. There were people waiting outside to be seated. Once I made my way to the desk, I was told they DON'T have takeout any more since covid. I said that it is posted online and he said the website hasn't been updated in YEARS. He asked if I wanted to go on the waitlist, but there was an hour wait. I left and I was extremely angry. I tried to call before I left the hotel to walk there, but no one answered the phone. If they did, they would have told me no takeout and I wouldn't have walked there.

The steak and sea food were great. Adam was our server and he was fantastic. We would come back just for thr Adam! The food matched the view, it was amazing.

Even though our steaks (split filets) were seasoned (requested no seasoning), they were cooked to absolute perfection. The place is small with tables very close together... so we just became friendly with the other diners - and enjoyed the evening!

Filet Mignon 10 oz was absolutely one of the best steaks that I have ever had. Porter house steak was another hit. This place strives on word of mouth, I can totally understand why. 100 percent recommended!!

Whenever we visit St. Pete, we ALWAYS have to go to 1200 Chophouse. The steak is AMAZING every time. Great customer service. Food is so good there may be a wait. But definitely worth it!♥ I would give them 10 Stars if I could.

Very nice dinner experience. The staff was top notch as well as the food. Only disappointment was they only serve beer and wine. We made the best of that, however a chilled martini would have been awesome.

We were here on an earlier Friday evening and had to wait about 45 minutes until we could get a table. The quality of the food is absolutely great!! The filet mignon was wonderfully tender and tasted absolutely delicious!! Unfortunately, the meat was quite oversalted and my wife's lobster was quite heavily peppered. The salad was one of the best I ate during our stay in the USA. The service was good and attentive. It's a shame that the chef went overboard with the spices. That's why only 4 stars!

Hands down the best steak dinner my husband, son and I have ever had. Cooked perfectly and the char made it so delicious. Well worth the wait, you will not be disappointed!!

We opted to sit at the bar instead of waiting 45 minutes for a table, and it did not disappoint. Chris and Elijah were so attentive, we didn’t have to ask for a single thing. We ordered the surf and turf and the filet. We both agree that it was the best meal we’ve ever had. The steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the lobster was obviously fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a nice dinner.

Food was phenomenal, service was fantastic, weight was long and worth every minute of it. This is a dining event, and Missy the server took it to another level. Excellent service and the food was fantastic, I had the New York Strip and my wife had the Chicken Saltimbocca. Short wait time but a must dinner destination in St. Pete Beach.

Seared 1200 was recommended to us by a friend & let me tell you he was 100% correct! The food was amazing & the service was just as good! The steak was as good as any chophouse back home in Chicago. I highly recommend this restaurant who is looking for a great meal while in the St Pete’s Beach area. You will not be disappointed!

Had a family dinner here on Monday and it was incredible!! It is a smaller place so there was a bit of a wait but it went by quick and was well worth it. Because it’s smaller there’s no sacrifice on quality of food or the service itself. We all got the filet mignon with Gorgonzola cream and it was amazing. Max was great!

Best food ever..Had the ribeye .. best I have ever had…Fiancé had bacon wrapped scallops… best she has had..Great service … it’s worth the wait.. Definitely going back on our next vacation .

This is become one of my favorite restaurants period everything is absolutely amazing

I was very disappointed. I had heard very good reviews and wanted to try this restaurant. After waiting 45 minutes for a table we were seated at the bar and menus were tossed in front of us like we were at a truck stop. It was so loud with dishes banging and staff yelling at each other for more salad plates etc that we were unable t,o talk to each other. Nothing on the menu was explained and I tried to order a glass of wine but the waiter was unable to hear me and thought I ordered a glass of Sprite. My friend scallops arrived almost raw and he had to send them back to be cooked longer. My lobster and steak were good but lobster is hard to mess up. I will definitely not go back to this restaurant.

It was packed and a bit cramped for dining inside. We had a 45 min wait. Ordered the steak au poured and wow that was the best steak I've ever eaten. I tried the sauce with it and it was amazing!!!!! The baked potato wasn't that great. The rolls would be better served hot. The butter served with the rolls was not the best but edible.

This place is one of the best steakhouses around! 100% worth every penny! I went here for my birthday a year ago and still rave about the food quality and atmosphere! The dining area isn’t the largest however the food is so phenomenal!! This place is better than berns steakhouse could ever be.

Second year in a row we went here and did not disappoint again. Sometimes places go downhill but they have maintained awesome quality and value. Great steaks, sides, apps and wine! Crowded but they turn tables quickly! Just go, you will enjoy it!

I normally would say that this has been one of our favorite restaurants on St Pete Beach. After our last visit, I don't know if I would return there anymore. My wife and I sat for about 10 or 15 minutes watching everyone else around us getting drinks and ordering food. No one approached us or greeted us. I finally asked a server if he could help us get service. He told us the manager was training a new server and they would be waiting on our table. We waiting another and still couldn't even get a hello. How can a manager be training a new server and not just swing by and say hello, we will be right with you, just acknowledge that you see us. We got up and decided to go up the street to PJ's. We spent half the money and had great friendly service.

Arrived a few minutes after 5pm and there was a line out the door. No available parking at the restaurant, but found some nearby. Steaks were perfect as well as the potatoes! Chris at the bar was taking care of business, making sure we had salads, rolls, and good times. The place is SMALL space wise but BIG on flavor.

The tomahawk steak was delicious. The potato wedges were fresh. The asparagus was disappointing because the chef did not cut off the woody end. The waiter was attentive to us the entire night. We sat so close to people that we were able to hear their entire conversation. We were seated in front of the door, so every time it opened the cold air was hitting us.

Our steaks were cooked perfectly and so tender. House salad was good, baked potato was good. And the bread and butter was so good. We would definitely eat here again.

I frequent 1200 chophouse even though the wait is always long. It’s the only restaurant I’ll wait for and it’s the only restaurant I’ll arrive early for, if I can. The food is always top notch, never misses, never disappoints, the waiters always make me sure I’m taken care of, it’s always worth the wait to be seated, always worth a hefty tip. All of the items on the menu are recommended, you can’t go wrong. My favorite restaurant ever.

For the drinkers, they only have beer and wine, because They do not have a liquor license. The food is good. My shrimp were sweet, which I don't care for. My steak was medium well, but some parts were medium rare, which I wasn't pleased with. The butter was way too sweet for the bread. They use a lot of sweet sauces for their foods. I don't like sweet foods. I'd get candy if I wanted sweets . The salad comes sweet, so I didn't order a salad. Our server was very nice.

Started with BBQ Shrimp which were delicious! The house salad had a unique flavor profile with greens with balsamic vinaigrette along with craisons, apples and candied walnuts. 👍 7 Oz Filet was delicious but certainly did not come out of a 1200 degree broiler. Garlic mashed were seasoned well and not overpowering. The bread is flat out the bomb. Only disappointment was they only have wine and beer. Only steakhouse I have ever been to that I couldn’t enjoy a nice bourbon before dinner!

This restaurant doesn’t take reservations. When we got there we waited for an hour and 20 minutes outside. Luckily they had couches and patio fireplaces to keep us warm. I wasn’t impressed with the whole vibe of the restaurant. Just wasn’t what I expected. Food was average. My lobster was so salty they forgot to bring the bread out and the bruschetta had onion (lots of it). Was not a fan at all. 225 for four people is fine but not for average food and experience

4 of us ate here 02.04.24 and the steaks were really tough to the point we could hardly cut them. We all ordered medium and one came really well that really vouldn't be cut and was sent back and replaces with an almost fully rare steak. One was slightly pink in parts and well in other parts and I had to cut it by stabbing the steak with the knife and trying to saw it straight down because I couldn't get the knife to cut it normally. The other was well also and all were pretty chewy. I gave up on mine and only one actually finished the steak. I got potatoes augratin that came burnt to a crisp, some got a Gouda cheese sauce that was an overly thick gelatenous goo, and the chocolate torte came out 5 minutes after it was ordered and was hard and dry. Took one bite and din't want anymore. We aren't picky, we eat steak often, this was like trying to chew through 1 1/2 inch complety dried beef jerky to explain the toughness. I understand this wasn't a normal experience there but they haf 4 tries on food for one table and all four were the same so we won't be back. The people were nice, the service was great the food was not good, and the chairs outside were dry on top but when you sat down you got soaked from moisture under them and the restaurant was smoked out from burning steak or burning grill sediment.

If you are craving a perfectly prepared steak, you will not be disappointed! They do not take reservations, so you may have to wait a while for a table. IT IS WORTH THE WAIT! We started with Chophouse shrimp- delicious! And the freshly baked bread with sweet honey butter-delectable! I had the ribeye with gorgonzola sauce, a perfectly prepared taste sensation! The filet mignon, ribeyes, and strip steak were all cooked to perfection. The house salad served with dinner was a perfect combination of nuts and berries, which far exceeded our expectations. It was extremely busy and not once did our waiter make us feel rushed. Our drinks were never empty and the courses were perfectly timed. Bravo! A real steak house with exquisite service in a relaxed atmosphere. A MUST TRY! Extra kudos to RICHARD, our waiter. He is the REAL DEAL!

Just a fantastic little restaurant that cranks out some solid food in an intimate cozy setting. My petit filet had a wonderful char and great flavor. Each steak comes with a salad, bread rolls, and a side starch (potatoes). I recommend adding the Gorgonzola to your steak. My only complaint is the space is quite small and cramped. Once you are seated it is cozy but waiting for your table can be a pain as there is zero space to wait indoors and it can be hard to reach the bartender as the bar is typically full with guests. Other than this, I look forward to going back the next time I am in St. Pete Beach!

We had been thinking about trying out 1200 Chophouse for a while. Just disappointed that we waited so long. The salads were very good, the steaks were terrific and the staff was very nice. Loved the augratin potatoes. We will be back.

Tolles Essen, nette Location. Leider ehrlich begeht bei den Locals dadurch bedingt am WE Wartezeiten um einen Tisch zu bekommen. Trotzdem zu empfehlen.

Most amazing steaks you will find in the area for a very reasonable price. It's great for a date night or if you have company coming from out of town to show off the area. Our go to is a ribeye that we share with this great sharing policy that they have. No reservations, so just be prepared for that but it is well worth the wait.

Wonderful food, great wait staff, A birthday dinner for my husband. No reservations- accepted. Small venue, inside/outside dinning. We chose to eat outside under a heat lamp, was very good. Crowd didn't seem to wait long if you wanted to eat inside, maybe seats 50. If steak is your thing this is a place to eat it; grilled to perfection.

Favorite steakhouse since moving to Florida a year ago. A bit small and crammed inside but the food more than makes up for it.

The place is incredibly small, the service was amazing and the food was really good. I talked with some really nice locals while I ate at the bar. 10 out of 10 would return the next time I'm in the area!

Small cozy place, have indoor and outdoor seating. The highlight is the salad and bread. Those are really good, but the main dishes tomahawk steak was a bit chewy, pheasant was nothing special.

I have eaten at some of the best steak houses around the world... Chicago, New York, Germany, Japan, Singapore. I know a good filet from an average one. Mike Ditka's in Chicago was my go-to for the best steak, until they closed their downtown location. 1200 Chophouse was across from our hotel, so we decided to give it a try... REALLY glad we did! It's small and quaint and only seats about 30-35 people. Their signature filet which is crusted in their own seasoning mix at high temps was arguably the best steak that I have ever had! It was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and flavorful. We paired this with a nice bottle of Merlot, and it was a perfect meal. Jason the bartender was super friendly, punctual, and offered great suggestions. If you're in St. Pete, and want a GREAT meal, go here. NOTE: Get there early, it filled up quickly, even on a Sunday.

We were recommended by the Valet guys at the Hotel. Warned it would be really busy. Arrived just 10 minutes before opening and only a few waiting as it was a stormy Sunday evening. Place filled instantly. Fabulous Shrimp in Cajun sauce starter with soft warm rolls. The best huge ribeye steak to follow..might have been 16oz. Shared chocolate dessert. Very efficient service. Back at the hotel the Valet said they'd just had a whole fillet of Wagu delivered. He thought a 4oz portion would be a $100. We'd had a great Mexican, then a Lobster, then a fabulous seafood dinner down in Sarasota, finished off with this worldie steak place. I combined their Poivre sauce with Dijon. I think I hit on a recipe. It was magnificent. Always loved a steak but that was a lifetime best.

We ended up at this restaurant when the prior one we'd chosen bombed. Chophouse is very small but we were seated within 10 minutes. Place was a little smokey with an open kitchen but easily overlooked by the quality of the food (delicious) and the excellent service. Would definitely return. Total bill for two meals and one glad of wine was $125 with tip.

Thank goodness we finally found a decent restaurant in this area. You need to be non vegan as the place is all about good quality and substantial meat (and a bit of fish) dishes. The wait is quite long, although we enjoyed a lovely glass of wine (in a proper glass) on the patio outside while we waited. Going later in the evening after 8pm or midweek appears to reduce the wait. A compact menu, but everything was cooked well. The house salad with the entree was delicious too. We’d definitely go back.

Time. I arrived to put my name in for 4 top told it was going to be a 45 min or hr wait by the hostess.6:25pm we live across the street and returned at 7:00 pm and was informed that we missed our table. Soo now we are going put us back on the wait for another 45min or soo.soo we decided to wait for some stupid reason. We waited and it felt as of we were not a bump up priority to them for use making our original time frame.then the we finally got seated at 8:15pm,now the funn begins. Outside super chilly,not wind protection or heat source. Appetizers 1 to 10 scale , 4 steak was 6.5 out of 10,adding mushrooms and onions gets a 2,spinach 2 got cold super fast in our windy cold environment. Soo overall rating is a 5 on a great dayy. I'm a local soo I've been to the best restaurants in pinellas and Hillsborough.

Ordered filet medium - it was brown throughout. Even though it was overcooked it still tasted great.

We hadn’t been here for several years but it's always been a favorite. Until now! On the positive side, we had a very short wait for a table in their nice outdoor patio where you can sip a glass of wine until your name is called. The staff is very friendly. It’s a very small quaint cool place but the noise level is high and it’s not a relaxed vibe. You feel like they want to rush you out to turn the tables over as quickly as possible. The house salad is exceptional as is the warm bread. My steak came out way too quickly and I could immediately tell by touch it was way undercooked— the chef could have pressed on it with back of a fork and been able to tell it was almost raw in middle. I sent it back and it came out within minutes —there was NO change- still blood red and nowhere close to medium. I sent it back a second time and by the time it came back I was done with my baked potato which was undercooked as well! The steak was better that time but still medium rare! I decided no matter how it came out I was going to eat it because I already felt bad. Keep in mind I NEVER send food back - I’m not a picky eater- but this had been inedible even for me. Even though it was still not right it had the best flavor! If it had been cooked right it would have been one of the best steaks I have ever had. We were expecting a slow-paced meal and we were not in a hurry at all to get our food. I wish they would take their time and cook the food properly- not rush it out. Would I go back? Not in a hurry to do so now, but will give it another try one day (and order my steak medium well)!

Excellent product. I've enjoyed the filet and the ribeye. Great dinner salad as well. Highly recommend.

What a great dinner! No photos as we were all too busy chatting but the wedge salad w a shrimp and scallop skewers was awesome. Attentive staff.
