Restaurant quite empty. We were there among perhaps 8 other dinners at 5 tables. Our waitress perhaps was new but she has a lot to learn. Have eaten there many times before but this was a Birthday treat for my friend. Only 2 of us, multiple cocktails (2 per person) but 1 was brought out per time. So I had to ask when I would be served. Waitress pleasant but should have been trained before serving. $200.00 plus meal and a disappointing evening out.

Upon arrival, we checked in and went to our room. The place is nice. We are looking forward to a great weekend getaway. Until…. We went to the restaurant for dinner. We had a cocktail in the room and arrived at dinner, at the Seasons, and were greeted by the manager, Mercy. We travel a lot and have been to many places where we have had wonderful experiences and have made great memories. Not here. This was the absolute rudest person I have ever encountered. Haughty would be a good description. Please save yourself the embarrassment and find somewhere else to dine. We ended up leaving. There was no way I could have enjoyed my $200 dinner with this introduction. A very venomous person. Maybe she should find a new line of work.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is delicious. The only negative was that they got my order wrong and it took a little too long for them to fix it, so my friend was finished with his meal before they brought mine.

Great coffee. Full bar available. Brunch served buffet style. The whole atmosphere is upscale casual. The soups were clearly house made and delicious. The salad bar small but mighty. The charcuterie was excellent. There was a delicious hot selection. And I loved the omelette station. There were also carving station and dessert station. There was plenty without being overwhelming. Plenty of seating but it never felt crowded. We felt relaxed and always well attended to. Thanks for a great experience!

Absolutely a wonderful experience! The service was outstanding, friendly not stuffy, like an old friend! The cocktails were fabulous, the wine choices and costs were spot on, and the food…oh the food was hot and delicious! I had the trout, my daughter the salmon and my husband the Chicken Cordon Bleu and every bite was heaven! Let me not forget about the bread, so so good as were the salads with the homemade buttermilk dressing! YUM YUM YUMMY! If you have the opportunity don’t miss this fabulous place! So happy we made this choice to have dinner here on the 4th of July!

I tasteful gem in the mountains near Asheville. After years of going to the Grove Park Inn, eating a list and satisfying, overprice buffet for special events. The Seasons buffet was a wonderful change. The quality of the food was excellent. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and you could ask for your slice to be cut at the temperature you preferred. The shrimp, oysters on the half shell, and other seafood was tasty, and as fresh as you could get in the mountains. There were ample amounts of other types of food, and a wide variety of desserts. I will happily return for special events and also to try their regular menu

All of the serving staff are very good, but we often seem to have Melissa H; a true professional. My wife thinks the Seasons Dry-aged Duroc Pork Chop is the best she has ever had. A pretty good compliment from a culinary school graduate. I had never heard of Seared Red Drum fish. Melissa took her time to make sure I understood what it was, thanks! Almost forgot to mention the wooded setting. Please be careful of the steps to the restaurant. They are uneven.

My husband and I, with 3 other couples went to Season's restaurant yesterday, April 13th, with a 12:30 reservation. We are very sad to say that our experience was probably one of the worst experiences we ever had at a restaurant. We waited an hour before we the waitress took our order, and then amazingly, we waited about another hour before our food arrived. 7 of us had salads which need minimal prep time, one person had quiche which was probably re-heated. The salads were ok, but not exceptional. 2 of the meals were sent back because one was wrong (spinach instead of no spinach) and for the other the shrimp was too salty. We had to remind the wait staff to bring soup that one of our friends ordered. And there were minimal apologies or concerns from the wait staff and no manager ever came by to extend any courtesy to us. All in all, it was a very unprofessional and dissatisfying experience.

The four of us were here for the Christmas Eve buffet at 5P.M. We were amazed at the way about one third of the people were dressed. Really, shorts, a streched out undershirt and tennis shoes for a "fancy" special dinner? This showed no respect for the restaurant, which was considered a bit upper scale we thought. The food was average. when you get a dress code we might be back.

From the very first moment we stepped foot into the building, we felt that the staff didn’t think we belonged there. We are a young couple and we were staying AT the resort and thought to try the restaurant’s dinner. We are both under 21, and we knew we did not want to or were able to order alcoholic beverages. Well, as soon as we got to our table one of the waiters came by and snatched out wine glasses without saying a word. For the remainder of the night, the only thing we were given to drink was ice water, not even sodas. We thought this might be some restaurant policy so we didn’t say anything. Then we ordered our food, and while the waiter was talkative and playful with all the other tables around us, he kept conversation and pleasantries at a minimum with us, acting almost annoyed for having to wait on us. We got our food, which was very disappointing compared to the breakfast. I could not finish my plate so when the waiter came back I asked him if he could bag it. He took the plate back to the kitchen and gave us the dessert manu. By the end of the night he brought us the check and I asked for my food, he said I did not ask for it to go, and that he was “deeply sorry if I misunderstood you” with the most insincere look on his face. That was over half the meal still left on the plate. Needless to say, it was a terrible experience and really disappointing. It does not represent the rest of the staff at the resort, who were eager to help and provided outstanding service. Mrs. Emma and the breakfast staff were the sweetest and made our days that much better.

Seasons has been our favorite restaurant in the area since we moved here six years ago. We dine there very often, and have never been disappointed. The food, service, and atmosphere are exceptional. Last night, we went to Seasons with a couple who recently moved here from Florida. They said the meal was as good or better than the very best in Miami! Last night, the special was flounder piccata and it was wonderful. I highly recommend the ribeye, the lobster ravioli and the chicken cordon bleu. The shrimp appitizer is amazing as well. Just beware that the main way to Seasons is via Upward Road which is under heavy construction. But, there's an easy back way in. Just ask for directions.

We stayed at Highland Lake Inn & Resort for three days this week. Since Seasons is their resident restaurant, we first enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It was WONDERFUL. It was like Sunday morning every day! We had dinner one night and an appetizer at the bar one night. Equally terrific every time. (We especially recommend the trout.) The wine list is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Extensive, interesting and priced to encourage enjoyment. While some might describe the decor as stodgy, it is in keeping with the traditional western North Carolina decor of the inn and resort. But it also means that we enjoyed a graciously served meal and could carry on a relaxing conversation with one another. No shouting required. And the dining areas have lovely large windows so you can enjoy a soothing view of the grounds. The staff was outstanding-both breakfast and dinner. All the wait staff were friendly, happy, and professionally attentive. We enjoyed the bartender immensely. She prepares gorgeous cocktails and made me a mean Old Fashioned. This is a clearly well managed restaurant. Great food, great staff, great value. Tone always starts at the top, so kudos to the owner. This is a restaurant not to be missed.

This time was wonderful ambiance on a rainy night, great menu even if waitress wanted to hurry us at 8:15. We worked that out, wife had great scallops & I had trout, both wonderfully prepared with vegetables & sauces. Bread is extra $3 but ok. Food is flavorful & wonderful, service is good & the evening was great. Nice if we can enjoy our drinks and food to 9pm or later as we do at Postero & Brandy’s. Will much enjoy returning to the unique, delicious excellence of the Seasons menu in a relaxed time 8-9:30 late week.

Seasons was our choice for our anniversary dinner, and we were not completely disappointed. Our table request was honored and the service was excellent. We had mixed feelings about the cuisine. The Crab Cake appetized was very small and was warm/cold when served with a tiny bit of sauce. It was rather disappointing. Bread service was not worth the $3 per person charge as our basket came with three very small pieces of bread, hardly enough for one person, let alone two. For our second course we enjoyed spinach and fruit salad. To avoid a split charge, we simply shared it from one plate. The salad was good, but again the portion was very small for the price. The highlight of our dinner was the main courses. My wife enjoyed an excellent version of chicken cordon blue, and my ribeye steak was perfectly prepared. The scalloped potatoes served with the ribeye were simply the best I might have ever had at a restaurant. Finally, we enjoyed fantastic coffee service and ordered two desserts, crème brulee and tiramisu. The crème-brulee was flavorless and a disappointment, while the tiramisu was fantastic. To sum: atmosphere and service were outstanding; appetizers, bread service and salad were mediocre; main courses were fantastic; dessert was hit and miss.

We go to Season’s at Highland Lake every year for Mother’s Day. They had a few hiccups after Covid (probably unsure of how many people to expect) and they ran out of a few menu items last year, notably, some of my favorite desserts! This year, they seemed to be in good form, with a nice variety. Here are the pros and cons and some tips. Cons: 1. It’s always a little chilly in the restaurant. Tip: bring a cardigan. 2. Although they did not run out of desserts, they seemed to have simplified their offerings. They had a lemon cake and cheesecake and a chocolate cake, and some Macarons, Keylime pie, and quite a few other favorite items…but in the past, they would have a wide variety of desserts. This may be why they ran out of a few. And I think it’s disappointing if you see something at the dessert table, and are looking forward to it, only to realize that they have run out. So it makes sense for them to go with a dozen basics, that everybody would like, than creating a wide variety of different desserts, but I miss that wide variety. In the past, they just had so many different types of offerings! Quite a dessert bonanza! 3. I love their seafood bar portion, and every year I look forward to the cold shrimp. The shrimp were excellent, but the cold salmon was just not very good this year. 4. I absolutely loved the flavor of the sweet potato au gratin that was on offer, but unfortunately, the sweet potatoes were way undercooked. So they were quite hard. Flavor was excellent though, and it was wonderful that they had sweet potatoes instead of a regular potato au gratin. Pros: 1. Don’t neglect the salad bar and soups! This is always a favorite. The corn chowder was excellent and they had three different salads, all of them wonderful. Their salad that had fennel in it was outstanding. 2. The rest of the hot savory lunch buffet had quite a variety. The chicken was tender, the cooked salmon was good and lots of veggie offerings. 3. The breakfast portion of the hot buffet is excellent, and that is what my son loads up on. He creates a bacon sandwich (see photos). 4. The servers know it’s Mother’s Day, and they are sweet and lovely, offering to take photos of the tables, and they are very attentive. Tips: 1. If they do go back to a larger dessert offering next year, I would grab a couple of desserts, and bring them to the table before I start my savory portion, just in case they run out of a fave. 2. The property has some swings, and it is a tradition of ours to take photos on them every year. Having a nice walk around the property after lunch, is really lovely for digestion!

We visited Hendersonville for our anniversary and chose Seasons as our dinner meal. We chose this restaurant thinking it was upscale fine dining based upon our google search and research of the area’s options. Upon arrival at our reservation time (which was also closing time evidently) we were seated beside some very loud guests. We asked to be moved and the wait staff immediately obliged giving us several other seating options. We ordered within minutes of seating and our food came out very quickly. We have dined in several fine dining restaurants and this did not compare to most as far as the atmosphere and food quality goes and is definitely overpriced when taking these things into consideration. Overall the service was great and the best part of the meal is dessert! Next time in town we will stop in for dessert and coffee.

We went here based on reviews we'd read. Big mistake. The place was awful... Taking overly long for cocktails, salad and entrees. But the food... Let me start by saying, I am gluten free. I'm used to asking questions and having limited options... But when the menu has no GF indicators and there is no separate GF/dietary menu, I would expect the waitstaff to be knowledgable. The waitress didn't really seem to understand what gluten free meant. After some back and forth (she told me I couldn't have some selections because they contained corn starch. Corn starch itself, is gluten free.) I opted to go with a salad and the salmon entree. She assured me the salmon was delicious and wouldn't need any substitutions. My food was completely flavourless. I've never had a meal like this... Literally no flavor at all. The root vegetable side, nothing. The creme sauce... Tasted like water. The fish, shockingly lacking in any flavor. Add to this poor service... Fumbling waitstaff (somehow my husband ended up with 8 or 9 utensils to my fork and spoon), light pour cocktails and overpriced food. The waitress knew we were unhappy... And while honest, we were kind and polite when dealing with her. No manager was ever sent to our table... The poor food was not addressed and while we were offered a 'flavourful" gluten free desert... After one glance we left it on the table. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere for a good dining experience.

Husband and I had a nice meal here. I got the broiled halibut with squash salad. Everything was made to perfection. Their chef does a great job. Our server Matt gave us 5 star service🙂Will definitely be back.

This was the most amazing Restaurant! It was our 50th Wedding Anniversary and our waiter Matt was Fabulous. He was attentive and great with suggestions. It was a wonderful experience and the food was delicious. We were in the Asheville area for 4 days and this was by far the best food.

Great venue, polite staff, very good food. They had a new menu that everyone at our table had a different item and all were delicious, especially the soups

Excellent food and great service. Tenderloin is very excellent and if you decide to do dessert the dulche de leche cheesecake is superb.

We ate breakfast here t mornings in a row. These meals came with our room at Highland lake inn. The food was good. It was a breakfast buffet. They had a chef continuously preparing more fresh food. I can't say anything really bad, other than...

Disappointing overall. We had stayed at the Inn in 2020 and had very nice meals as well as enjoying the accommodations. Went there for lunch on Labor Day and were pretty disappointed with the food. We met friends there that shared our sentiment. Will probably not go back.
