Solid experience. Food and service was excellent. It is very tight quarters but the staff makes it work.

Hello my Foodies, sorry I have been MIA! I have all work and no play! However, thank goodness there was a birthday to celebrate in my friend group! Any excuse to get our grub on! We chose this place and let me say it was fantastic! The food was amazing! The portions were huge. Most of us ordered the porkchops and man, were they big, thick and juicy! Everything that came with the dish was well prepared and delicious, even the veggies and homemade chips! Yes, it is somewhat expensive, but I promise you will get your money's worth. Not only that, the staff were super super friendly and accommodating. They even presented the cake we brought with us and helped us sing happy birthday and didn't charge us extra. They cut it for you and serve it to all your guests as well. Very nice touch. A lot of places charge extra so that was very cool of them. The atmosphere was fine and inviting. I would definitely go again for a special occasion or to impress visiting friends with a great meal. Please stop by if you are in this area and get an order of chops! I was also informed that the pea soup was delicious, which my friend ordered, I am not a fan of peas, so I didn't try it. But it got two thumbs up!.

It doesn't get more classic than Segovia. Like many small family businesses, the service is not top notch. The food's going to get to your table hot, but don't expect a smile and don't expect to be doded upon. Most drink orders are hollered at the backs of waiters walking in the opposite direction. But what are you going to do? Fire Uncle Nick? No. Having said all that, the food is absolutely outstanding every single time I've been here. If you want your pasta al dente, ask for it. And if you want the best pork chops that I have ever tasted in my life, order the ones with the hot cherry peppers. I've never been to a restaurant that didn't overcook pork, but Segovia stands alone in this category. The seafood fra diavolo is also exceptional. One very strong word of warning. In other restaurants, the word tapas refers to very small plates with little bites of food. Normally, it's a quarter cup of whatever you ordered. At Segovia, the tapas is a full size appetizer. Similarly, all of the entrees are hilariously oversized. You will be taking a bag home with you. Food doesn't come out on dishes, it comes out on serving platters. It's incredible. I couldn't love this place more.

on my 2nd visit, had lunch w/ a group of 20 ppl. good food - especially liked the steak, which was cooked perfectly. most dishes i tried were a bit mild side and not salty enough to my liking. The service was attentive & prompt, and i didnt need to ask twice. Liked the reasonably quiet ambience w/ soft lightening & elegant decor. w/ minimum background noise or music, i had no issue conversing w/ ppl around me.

This place is not ready for prime time. Service was lacking as in sat for 20 minutes with butter but nothing else. Asked for an appetizer to share with the the table but it came out with the entrees. Had to ask for bread. Had to ask for water. Food was eh. Some things overcooked…some under. And ingredients not great. And at this price point I think you could pour water for guests, not plastic pitchers help yourself. Steak was over cooked. Veal chop was undercooked. Shrimp and scallops were not fresh. Weirdly the tuna tartar was good. I wanted to enjoy this place but cannot recommend.

Went to Segovia with a party of 8, knowing that it's mandatory for parties over 6 people to have the 20% tip automatically added to their bill before payment. When we got our bill, the 20% mandatory tip was not included which we found strange but either way we all calculated the 20% tip and agreed that that amount would be added to the bill since it's only fair. We were given the pre-tip balance, so once the waiter returned after swiping our credit cards, we of course added the 20% tip. However, after leaving the restaurant I checked the math and realized that they had very sneakily charged the tip once they ran the credit card so that at the end the waiter received a double tip. NOT HONEST AT ALL! DOUBLE CHECK YOUR FINAL BILL.

This was traditional Spaniard food. I'm a huge fan of Paella and they did it great! I ordered it with seafood and lobster and my wife had the lobster ravioli! And we ordered a pitcher of Sangria! Everything was fantastic! Additional tip: I told a few pictures of the menu so you could get a feel for the food and prices. I'm definitely getting the Porterhouse the next time we come!

Great place for a date night. My wife and I had a great meal here. We ordered the shrimp and octopus as starters, both of which were delicious. We also shared a steak. The steak was good, but it could have used salt. Next time we will probably just order small plates, as we probably would have been fine with another one or two small plates rather than the steak. Service was great, too. We never felt rushed and while the servers were attentive, they didn't hover. Atmosphere was just right. It was lively, but not too loud. I could hear my wife the whole time, even though she is fairly soft-spoken. I am looking forward to coming back!

I like going to the Moonachie location in New Jersey. The food is delicious, and the quality is top-notch. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday with a party of 25! Everything was perfect! Thank you Segovia for making this a memorable birthday for our mom.

Delicious lunch on Saturday. Food was prepared quickly and tasted delicious. We had mussels in green sauce then shrimp in green sauce and paella Valenciana. Dessert was delicious, crème brûlée and mango sorbet/ gelato. Very nice lunch. I recommend a visit.

Paella valenciana was too salty, chicken marsala and jumbo shrimps was good but they only give two shrimps. Overall, not the best paella we tried.

Big portions and very delicious food. The passion fruit sangria is really good. The paella was really well seasoned and the octopus was cooked perfectly.

Highly Recommend Segovia in Moonachie, New Jersey I took my family to Segovia restaurant in Moonachie, New Jersey, for a family dinner on Monday night. The place was excellent, not too busy, and you can tell from the pictures just how magnificent this restaurant is. We had fried calamari, which was crispy and perfectly golden, paired with a tangy marinara sauce. The garlic shrimp was a standout, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The spaghetti aglio e olio was a simple yet delicious dish, with just the right amount of garlic and olive oil. For the main course, we enjoyed a succulent skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, complemented by fresh vegetables and crispy homemade chips. The owners truly know what they're doing, keeping the restaurant's quality at its best. And the prices? Very affordable for such high-quality food. I highly recommend Segovia for a great dining experience!

I ordered food here and dined in but didn’t finish. So I wanted it to take home l. They packed it for me and the food was literally thrown in the bowl like I was some animal…don’t let this place put your food in a to go box do it yourself better…lost my appetite when I saw my food thrown in there like nothing….never again

I am Spanish ! The rice is not paella, this is rice with broth, learn to cook! They don't have bread for the charcuterie board, they give you potatoes for bread!!!!!! The potatoes are badly cooked... (fatal) not at all crispy,,, The horrible seafood platter looks very bad, Diablo sauce. The attention,,; They forgot everything... PS: this is not authentic food, this is a cheap imitation of Spanish gastronomy!

There was a restaurant Many years ago in Moonachie that I loved. This one may not be same one (Old was Villa Del Spain), but it has been around 40 years, and decided to stop in on my way from NYC back to the Midwest. It really is only about a 10 minute detour on the route, and was reachable within 30 minutes of leaving the city. So glad I stopped in. The bread was amazing , and I'm cutting carbs, but ate 3/4 of piece. Dinners came with Seafood Bisque that day (or salad). After I ordered, son ordered. ...same thing (a paella of course!), so I changed mine up to seafood in Red sauce. Everything was amazing, portions huge, and service was outstanding. Water was constantly refilled, bowls with seafood shells removed promptly, and it was all so tasty. Definitely filled me up for the remaining 12+ hour drive. Yes, I will consider eating here again next time I'm in town for lunch after I drop son back at college!

It was very noisy, cheap sausage, the paella was very juicy like rice pudding with tomatoes. The empanadas are very dry, I mean extremely dry and hard to chew and swallow. People most come here for the meat with cheaps, not for "spanish real food."

Excellent restaurant for a special dinner. The food is good, sufficient and of quality. It is a Spanish restaurant, with a European concept, a calm atmosphere. It is not a fancy restaurant. They have staff that speaks Spanish. The food is delicious, the sangria is great.

Been eating here for over 20 years. It's a go to for celebrations or an impromptu lunch. We just celebrated my husband's 50th bday there. His new favorite meal is the Lobster Ravioli and my go to for years has been Garlic Shrimp.

Segovia ( the original in Moonachie) has been a family & friends favorite since its inception in the mid 1980’s. I say the original because they operate 2 other Segovia restaurants on the relatively small stretch of the same continuing road. We have been to both other locations, but the original is our hands down favorite. Whether enjoying a casual lunch or romantic dinner for 2, or a full on family & friend’s holiday feast you will not leave disappointed. The seafood & steaks are always fresh & spot on delicious. The vegetables & all side dishes are equally fresh & offers a great variety. On our most recent visit I went with the 38 0z bone-in Ribeye w asparagus, hot cherry peppers & button mushrooms. The steak was a perfect medium rare & charred just right. Add on a fairly small but very fitted wine list (or excellent sangria for the more sweet toothed) & you’re in for a true dining experience.

The food needed flavor which was disappointing. The bar was still open and the waiter told us he couldn’t serve us another pitcher of Sangria which I found odd. I only giving three stars because the ham for appetizer was good. I wouldn’t return.

I know there is a customer base for this type of food but I believe you have to be a regular customer to get treated well.

This restaurant does seafood right. The paella was perfect, as were the soccer shrimp. The appetizers consisting of fried calamari and shrimp in garlic sauce were excellent. The unsung hero of the meal was the fresh baked bread that allowed the delicious sauce to be sopped up like sponge. The only real downside is the dining room that lacks any real character or vibe.

Great food and great service. We went during lunchtime, and they had a special on Lobsters. The food had excellent season. We had octopus and cocnut shrimp for appetizers, which were amazing! We ordered lobster tails, lobster ravioli, and salmon, and everything came out amazing! The waiter provided great service. He would stop at our table asking if we needed anything and also asked if the food was good. He was very friendly and professional. I would definitely be returning.

Always a good time, with great Spanish food. I adore the shrimp with garlic sauce and enjoy the aroma as soon as you leave your car. Tony and his son always make sure all is good!

I came here with a co-worker whose parents are from Spain and strongly recommended it. The paella was other worldly. It was one of the best things I've had from a restaurant ever in my life. Seriously, no hyperbole. Update: Came here again recently and got the skirt steak with jumbo shrimp. It was good, but not mind blowing like the paella. Ordered it medium-well and told the server that I wanted it pink, but like most places it came out way too bloody. Still good though.

Wow this place is great, if I could eat here daily I would! Honestly the food is amazing and filling, you come feeling stuffed! I’ve had multiple dishes here, one of my favorites is their stuffed salmon, the steaks are also delicious! And one of my other favorites is the lobster ravioli! Yum!

I have been there dozens and was always excellent, however, this visit was not good. 2 of us had poor quality meals, 1 was passable, 4th was very good. Probably won't be going back.

The best experience I have ever had was with my entire family and I had a wonderful time, the atmosphere and the 5-star service were very welcoming! I go every time I can and I will continue going to that place without a doubt

Food is the saltiest I've had. If it weren't salty, it would still taste average. Service needs improvement. Asked the waiter if whatever I ordered seemed much for 3 adults and 2 kids since I didn't know their portion sizes. He says "no" then I get food to feed an army. So money wated. I asked a server for a lemonade refill, he nods and disappears. After 20 minutes I need to wash down the salty food and still no lemonade. Asked the server and he says "we don't do refills". Thanks for not letting me know and making me wait. I ask for check and half the food is there untouched. The server sees that yet didn't offer boxes although I saw a bunch of people taking leftovers. Food was so salty anyways that didn't even bother to take. Do not recommend

This has become a family staple. My family often enjoy dinners together here and they always accommodate our large party. The food is delicious and the service is always great. The have two parking lots and a bar.

I've been going to Segovia since 1983. They have been the most consistent restaurant I've ever been to. Latest visit with 6 adults and 2 children.For the apps we had the mixed hot apps, clams casino and octopus, All delicious, Dinners ranged from surf and turf, multiple filet mignons, paella marinara, twin lobster tails and sirloin steak. everyone totally enjoyed their meals. Heard no complaints. We also ordered the Sangria roja. All good ....

Terrible service and food isn't great either. Tried to give them another chance and Tried to call for a reservation on a regular weekday night and said they're booked and said not to come. How rude are they? What is the hype about this place? Don't recommend!

Although there is great food here, customer service is lacking. I was told walk ins for parties of 6 or less for a Friday night. After arriving, there was a 2 hour wait bc of parties and there was only 4 tables for walk in customers. Could have advised they had a full house and not waist my entire evening and a babysitter to go back home without going out. Disappointing.

This restaurant has been a go to place for years for friends get together. Once again they did not disappoint this year. Service was great and the food was delicious.

A must try to northern NJ. Does not take reservations for groups less than 6 but they work hard to turn over the tables quickly. Parking can be tight but they have extra parking at the restaurant next door for dinner rush. Food recommendations are any seafood or steak entrée. My parents love shrimp in garlic appetizer and I'm a big fan of the octopus appetizer. Often I will go just for sangria and tapas. Enjoy

This is the land of big food. Spanish place great Mariscatas, Lobster and huge steaks. Expensive but worth it.

The catered plater of paella sea9 food and lobster was very good Got allot of thumbs up.

Service was terrible, waited an hour for our appetizer, we had to ask in order to find out it was burnt & they had to “remake” wish the server communicated better with us instead of having us wait. After it came out we received two orders of the appetizers even though we only ordered one. Food took another 30 to come out after the appetizer , so almost 2 hours. We took it to go and I didn’t even feel like arguing about the double appetizer so i just paid for both and took the extra one home. The other locations are much better.

The biggest change was the very small size of the shellfish served in the mariscada. Not worth eating the mussels and clams. Wife's broiled fish was tasty. Sangria tasted too strong. Got better as the ice melted. Very little fruit. Disappointing after several great previous experiences

had some of the best scallops EVER here. For that alone, worth a dinner. Little extra pricey for what's being offered; not excessive- but could be a little lighter on the mark ups. Broccoli Rabe portion was massive, I took home and ate with two more meals. Was fantasticly delicious! Service was a little lacking, water w lemon(no lemon) also not refilled. I know they have been there for 30+ years; but for my 1st time, I expected a little more attention to our table. They did seat us right away on a very busy evening. I'll definitely be returning. The chips (if not included in your meal, worth asking for on the side!!! Not over salted at all, Perfect.not greasy at all!)

Decent place with good food. The 24 oz ribeye was cooked very well. The marinara paella has a lot of seafood but is not an authentic paella as it is very watery.

For a Friday & a beautiful night at that this place was not super busy. what a great place to eat and spend some time chatting the eve away. The Paella Valenciana is plenty for two and so is the filet mignon medallions!
