I came to a private event at Shaevitz. The staff was very kind and welcoming, the food was fantastic. The brisket and burgers are very flavorful. Shaevitz is conveniently located in downtown Highland Park with plenty of parking in the area. Supporting a conservative Kosher business is definitely a plus. Will definitely return.

The workers were friendly and their Matzo ball soup was delicious, it had the biggest matzo ball I have ever seen. The Turkey burger tasted verry juicy and delicious, I strongly recommend trying it. The food was very filling and at a good price, I loved the experience and I will definitely come again.

The new owner is young and ready to turn this place around with some good and fresh ideas. Always nice to see a local owner put love and care into the business. I ordered their marinated skirt steak with grilled onions and the bread was super fresh. Highly recommend as I now know I can pick up their premade skirt steaks to make for Shabbat or one night during the week!

Oh my. My mouth waters just remembering the bery best beef brisket barbeque I have ever had. Perfect buns if having as a sandwich. Would pass on the slaw when having again. Zero parking. Best as take out.

Ordered the brisket and skirt steak sandwiches. The flavor of the meats were great but the meat was a bit more chewy than I like.

It is a family operation that has been in business since 1910. Current kosher supervision is by Rabbi Aaron Melman.

While the food is pretty decent, the atmosphere is poor and the owner is crabby and inattentive. In the middle of taking my order he stopped to yell at his employee, leaving me standing there wondering if I should leave. We went here looking for the barbecue. Instead we ordered burgers and fries. It was a good choice. The burgers were flavorful and moist which is not something you can always say about kosher burgers.

I have passed this place hundreds of times as I head into Highland Park and I have never stopped there. I decided to change that and try their barbecue. I called in the order and picked it up fifteen minutes later. The barbecue had a great sauce and was served on a very fresh challah bun. It was delicious. The fries had a great taste, very fresh, but they could have been a bit crisper. Overall, I was impressed and will be back again to check it out. Eating in is more of an issue. Although very clean, the eat-in aspect is quite simple, but workable.
