We dine Friday, we order vegan combination, the food wasn’t fresh and tastes funny. Specially The Misir and Shiro wasn’t good. But the server and the place were good.

This was my first experience with Ethiopian dishes. I enjoyed the flavors, spices, and presentation. The best part was eating with your natural born utensils, your hands. The injera (pancake-like flatbread) is used to scoop the food to eat. This is a uber casual mom and pop atmosphere. You can watch sports near the bar area. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The portions are plentiful. This is a good place to meet up with friends and family to eat.

It's always a great experience when eating at Sheba's. The food is always very flavorful and made with passion. My favorite dish is the Spicy Lamb Juicy made extra juicy with an extra piece of Injera. It's a must try!! You will be delighted for sure!

The reviewers that say this place doesn’t want non-Ethiopians are full of it. 1) There are many many Eritreans there at all times so, learn the difference before you assert prejudice claims on a small business and it’s staff. 2) The waitresses were not born and raised in the US and therefore not bound by the customer service standards demanded by every cappuccino sipping Karen. English is like their 4th or 5th language!! You want some water, just ask for it. Nobody is alienating YOU and it surely is not so serious that you warrant slandering this woman’s business. They are shy but friendly to faces they know, just as they would be in their native land. Get over yourself and enjoy the food, which is AMAAAAAAZING by the way.

I thought I'd give this place a second try. I had gone there a few years back. It was even more awful than the first time. First, they could not take the order over the phone due to a language barrier, and they had to ask someone who speaks English. Then, that person did not seem to understand what I was ordering right off their menu. I told them I couldn't eat string beans, and guess what? There were lots of string beans in my order. I have eaten at many Ethiopian restaurants and was extremely disappointed. After driving almost half an hour to get there, I walk in, and the two women (servers) at the bar just starred at me, and we're generally unfriendly. I had to flag one of the others down. They got my order wrong, and I was overcharged. I was ordering one thing, and they ended up charging me for two separate entrées I had not agreed to. I ended up wasting gas, time, and was exposed to a smokey smell ( I guess people smoke indoors), and they took forever to get me my order, and I had to keep asking. They said it would be ready in 20mins when I had called them. I was already on my way there. The food was cold, not much flavor, and seemed to have been just splattered on the Injera. There was not much meat in the other 'entrée' and I told the lady who charged me. I will never go there again. I would not advise anyone to go there given this 2nd awful experience. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. ***UPDATE*** I looked at my bank statement online a few days after this review and found that they decided to tack on an extra $10( unaccounted for on the receipt, all for themselves. I called my bank, and they were able to take care of everything. I had called this restaurant, and the woman in the phone wanted me to drive down there and had said that the waitresses might have charged extra.I also had a copy of my receipt so they were being fraudulent. I also realized that they overcharged me in the beginning by another $14 according to their menus online and at the restaurant. When I was at the restaurant and questioned this, they played ignorant and pretended to have difficulty with language and communicating. If you still decide to go there, my advice is: Check your receipt, keep it, and mind your bank account. The food quality and poor customer service were not worth it.

Here is the letter I sent to management: Hi, just out of curiosity, I would like to know: do you want to discourage non-Ethiopians from coming into your restaurant? If that is the case, I get it. You have your own small community, and you want to have an establishment for your community to hang out at. But, you should hang a sign on the outside of the door that says "no non-Ethiopians allowed" so that customers like myself don't have the unpleasant experience of being served by a waitress who very clearly doesn't want them there. If that's not the case, then let me tell you. The waitress that served me and my friend, an older lady, hated us. She gave my friend a dirty look when he placed his order, she went out of her way to avoid our table and keep our water cups empty, and, when we thanked her profusely before we left and told her how much we enjoyed the food, she just said "ok", then turned around abruptly and walked away. We were polite and respectful, and there was no reason for her to treat us that way. I noticed that she was very friendly - to every other party in the restaurant, who all happened to be Ethiopian. She spent time talking and laughing with every table in her section. Except for ours, of course. So, anyways, if you don't want non-Ethiopians in the restaurant, please just let me know so I don't make that mistake again in the future; and, I will help spread the word for you that non-Ethiopians are not welcome in your restaurant. Thank you.

It seems like this establishment wants to discourage non-Ethiopians from coming into their restaurant. I get it. They have their own small community, and want to have an establishment for their community to hang out at. But, they really should hang a sign on the outside of the door that says "no whites allowed" or maybe "no non-Ethiopians allowed" so that customers like myself don't have the unpleasant experience of being served by a waitress who very clearly doesn't want them there. Let me tell you: the waitress that served me and my friend, an older lady, hated us. I noticed that she was actually very friendly - to every other party in the restaurant, who all happened to be Ethiopian. She spent time talking and laughing with every table in her section. Except for ours, of course. So, anyways, if you don't want to be treated like dirt, stay away from this place. There's a couple of other Ethiopian places nearby that are great. You can try Yenat Guada, where the couple that owns the restaurant are super warm and friendly, and will often be the ones to serve you. Or, you can go to Arif, another great tasting restaurant. Actually, tbh, both the places I mentioned have better food than Sheba's. I strongly recommend that you stay away from the very not nice people at Sheba's.

Deciding to step outside of our food comfort level and entertain our palette to something new and different my wife and I stopped in at Shebas with a friend. We ordered Ethiopian beer ( which was amazing) and a couple of appetizers to start off with. Sambusa - Seasoned lentils with Onions and jalepanos wrapped in pastry sheet and deep fried And Kitfo - Steak tartar served from selected lean ground beef seasoned with spiced butter and bird'd eye chili pepper (mitmita). My wife can’t eat overly spicy foods but was able to enjoy both appetizers (kind of apprehensive at 1st about eating raw meat but she found out during this that she loves Steak Tartar) After the appetizers I had the Dallas Special- Meat cubes marinated and sauteed with onions, jalapeno, and black peppers cooked medium rare. *Loved it! And my wife had the Short Ribs -Beef ribs seasoned with black pepper and special spices, grilled. The ribs were a little over cooked but very tasty and enjoyable. Our friend went all out and ordered the Best of Ethiopia Combination plate - Doro wot, kitfo, wiht a choice of Lamb and Beef tibs with house Vegetable This combination plate is huge and can easily feed three people so we all shared this. Everything on the combination plate was amazing even though I couldn’t tell what everything was I was eating just by site alone other than the Duro Wat & Steak Tartar. The only thing I didn’t try was the cabbage. Sheba’s is an excellent place to go eat and I highly recommend checking it out!!

I was in the area and wanted to try something new. I decided to try Sheba's Ethiopian Food. I noticed that a lot of beautiful Ethiopian people were sitting around, talking, and enjoying themselves. I knew I was in the right place for authentic Ethiopian food!!! I was greeted by the bartender. She was very kind and assisted me with my order. I didn't want anything spicy (most items on tge menu are spicy). She recommended the beef tips. I declined because I eat that all the time at soul food restaurants. I decided to try the fried whole fish. Idk what kind of fish it was lol but it was really good. It wasn't too salty at all but very flavorful. My order came with a salad and bread. The salad was fresh. I ordered collard greens because I wanted to try the Ethiopian version. It was tasty. I could taste the garlic and other spices. Give it a try. I would recommend this restaurant. I observed what others ordered as I waited for my food. The servings are very large. At least 2-4 people can eat a plate of food (seriously). My boyfriend and I split my food. Affordable Prices!! *However, I did wait 40 mins for my order (fried whole fish takes time to cook) but it was worth the wait. I believe they play live music and have a DJ on weekends. Americans people, I would recommend this place. Enjoy!!!

Going to the Queen of Sheba was a horrible experience , the food was very disappointing and the place was very unsanitary. The food was not that traditional and small portions were given. It is very overpriced and the service was terrible. We went there for my birthday celebration with advanced reservations. After we arrived and ordered, a “ private event” started with a band and started playing extremely loud music. They did not tell us us ahead time of time, even with our advance reservations, or when we arrived. We requested the music to be turned down several times and they refused. We could not even hold a conversation and it gave me and my guests bad headaches. The restaurant should have closed down to host the private event instead of sticking us in a smaller area near the bathrooms. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to this restaurant unless you anted to be treated very poorly and disrespected.

So...I have been craving Ethiopian Food and Sheba's did not disappoint! I called in my order and 20 minutes later, my wonderful husband was coming through the door with what I've been JONESING for! As soon as I opened the box; I was swaddled like a wee babe by the inebriating scents of Berber Spices. Sheba's Selection offers your choice of 2 meats and 2 vegetables. I got the Lamb Tibs, Beef Wot, Collard Greens, and Lentils. The Lamb was tender and succulent from the slow simmered tomato sauce and spices. The Beef was loaded with spicy pieces of jalapeños, onions, and Rosemary. Both had me dreaming of the leftovers I was determined to have, so I could relive the joy of each morsel. The collard Greens were well seasoned and still had a little crunch which was a nice texture balance for the meal. The Lentils were spicy and full of life and flavor. But my FAVORITE was the Injera! There is something so satisfying about tearing pieces of tender injera and using it shepherd in the savory goodness that is Ethiopian Cuisine. In my opinion the fermentation of the Teff batter is what makes Injera so special. It lends a slight acidity to anything that has the privilege of being cloaked in the simple, naturally Gluten-Free "bread"(for lack of a better word). If your looking for Good, Authentic, Ethiopian Food, Sheba's is it! Go Check It Out!

Truly a fantastic experience. The family meals had generous portions. Two orders of the general "Taste of Ethiopia" shareable plates easily fed a group of four, with quite a bit leftover. It's not on the menu as far as I'm aware, but finishing off the meal with an order of the Buna (Ethiopian coffee for four) was great. They bring out a pot of strong, fresh, roasted coffee to share among those at the table. We sat there for about an hour after eating just enjoying each other's company while sipping the coffee. This restaurant has definitely made it onto my favorites list!

This is one of the best Ethiopian restaurants in the dfw metroplex. It looks nice on the inside and has VERY good food. I have never had injera bread that tastes as fresh as the bread here. Their food is seasoned very well and there is always a decent crowd here. This place would be food heaven if they served chicken tibs. Some of their waitresses don't seem to be the friendliest but I think that may be due to language barriers & it’s not enough to keep me from returning . Dishes range between the $11 to $20 and don't expect appetizers (you really don't want them, as the dishes are very filling.) This is one of my top 5 favorite places to eat! 😋

Loved it. We had a huge plate with beef, lamb, greens, beans, and dips, with a sort of bread (don't know the real name) to share that was amazing! I'll definetly go back!

Absolutely amazing. The food is always excellent. It takes a little while to get the food out but you can't rush quality. Please do yourself a favor and order the dry lamb tibs.
