Overall, it was alright, nothing to write home about AT ALL. I had super high hopes for this place after reading reviews and seeing delicious pictures. That’s how I would describe it, the food was presented so well and looked delicious, but lacked SO much flavor. Just underwhelming. Another thing that was a bit astonishing…We ordered shrimp shumai and again it looked delicious but when I bit into it, it was completely cold in the middle. There were four of them, my mom had already eaten one when I noticed. When the waiter came I let him know they were cold and he was like “oh really”…. yes really. He took them and when he brought them back out proceeded to only bring out three… you would think after sending out cold food they would just remake the whole dish, apologize, anything really would’ve been better than what happened. We were definitely just surprised by the less than apologetic attitude after biting into cold food…weird. Meh, I wouldn’t visit again. Try Sakura Ramen which is also in the area, their food has MUCH more flavor and way better service. It’s also not as pricey!

This place is spot on what Ramen should be. Delicious. The accompanying dishes are pretty good as well, especially the fried chicken which is awesome. There are maybe a handful of restaurants in the south Florida area and not only is this one of the greats, none of the others are nearby. So if you want to know what ramen is and you're in the area come give out a shot. There are alternative soups if you don't want pork. Update: Came back as I always do, but Quinn's service was great amd worth mentioning. This place keeps on being amazing, I'm so lucky to have it in my neighborhood!

Love this place, been coming for years and it only gets better. Every time we come they make nice little additions to the decor so now it has a lovely little ambiance. The broth is super flavorful and the noodles have the right chew. Always a good meal.

Sakura Ramen, which is 5 minutes away, is far better in every aspect. We live 5 minutes away and decided to give this restaurant a try since it's in the same shopping center we do out grocery shopping. The overall decor, along with the music and lighting, was all in good taste. That's the only positive I can say about this place. We waited for 20 minutes before our appetizers finally made it to our table, which were just the 2 pork buns and steamed Edamame. An employee there kept coming around asking if everything was OK, but after I asked if she knew when we would receive our appetizers, she got upset of all things! Then, when the main entrees finally came out after another 20 minutes, the original apologized about a miscommunication in the kitchen. Finally, the check was ordered so we could leave, and that took 5 minutes. Then, the person with the poor attitude came out with the electronic machine to check us out and physically stood and watched as my wife entered the tip, which is very tacky. Overall, the food wasn't great, and because of the poor level of service we experienced, we will not be returning.

This place is so worth the visit. A small hole in the wall that delivers in quality and service. Alex and Quinn bring a happy energy that adds to the experience. Don’t forget to order the Japanese Crepe cake as a finale!

I came during lunch time. The food was amazing and the restaurant quiet. My only issue was my server. I ordered the Kagoshima special, priced at $23. My server asked “Would you like spice mixed in or on the side?” I replied “Mixed in.” When my bill arrived, the Kagoshima special was priced at “$25”. I asked my server about the price difference and she very shortly responded “You had spice. It’s $2.” “Then it should say spice is $2 on the bill” “It was on the menu.” So, in short, the waitress up-charged me, was dishonest about it because she, or the restaurant, priced the item as $25 after I was mislead into adding the $2 spice. How hard is it to say “Would you like to add spice for $2?”

Seated right away with friendly and attentive staff. Food was also awesome.

I’m a ramen fan and this is the second time I have been to this restaurant and the truth is that it is not bad. Now I tell you that I have visited many Japanese food restaurants and the prices are not in line with what they serve I give it 3/5, the atmosphere of the restaurant 4/5, the flavor of the food 3/5. The tokontsu ramen for me was very poor in vegetables and only two slices of pork, For what I paid, I'll go to another restaurant and eat much better. The service of the waitresses is not fast, we waited around 35 to 40 minutes for them to serve us. Because of the price of the food I won't go back

If you're a ramen lover, you *need* to check out this spot! Hands down the best ramen I’ve had since my time in Seattle. The pork belly was a standout—perfectly smoked with a rich, deep flavor that melts in your mouth. The broth? Absolutely incredible. It was super complex, layered with umami, savory notes, and none of that unnecessary sweetness you sometimes find in ramen. Every spoonful felt like a new discovery. From the noodles to the toppings, everything was spot-on. I can’t recommend this place enough. 10/10—definitely worth a visit!

Quinn is great, always gives the best service and treats us like family. She always has the best suggestions. Best ramen in town as well :). I 100% recommend this spot if you have the chance to have it.

After already being impressed by their spot in Downtown Miami, I had to try the main location. So glad I took the time to visit! The broth and especially the noodles were notably better here. It may be further out but I'll be showing this place to friends for sure.

Best ramen in Florida , possibly in the country. Unique broth . Excellent appetizers. Recently remodeled making it cramped and uncomfortable. The two seater tables are unreasonably small, you are on top of other guests and forced to listen to their conversations. If you want to enjoy go during slow times because when it's busy it's not pleasant.

Very nice atmosphere and service here. The food is truly excellent. I tried the ramen my first time here and it was the best I’ve had in South Florida. The broth tastes exquisite and I had to come back two days after trying the restaurant for the first time. Wifey had the Chicken Karaage Rice bowl as pictured which was also incredible. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Had a great time at Shimuja, we’ve been there a handful of times because the ramen is delicious, but Quinn and the staff makes the experience even better; they are welcoming, friendly, attentive, and made our little boy’s birthday really special the last time we were there.

Been coming almost every other week. With the great food they make fresh and the friendly staff its easy to become regulars. Please give this place a try. I always get the chicken ramen and (this is a must) the taiyaki. Everything is so so fast and delicious. Will be coming back indefinitely. :)
