My son and I went to Shogun Bistro and we ordered seaweed salad and two Bento boxes. Mine had steak Teriyaki and egg roll and a sushi roll. The portions were excellent, and the food was really good. We had a pleasant experience from when we were greeted as we came in the door through our entire meal. I would definitely recommend Shogun Bistro to get together with friends or on a date. It's a great atmosphere.

It was ok. The hibachi chef was exemplary. But the rest of the service was a little lacking. Nice building though.

Bad service and discrimination would be a summary of my bad experience, I went for my daughter's birthday and they wanted to seat us with two unlucky people, I do not advise going to eat there if you are not from this country

Was there almost two hours. Took a hour and a half for us to get our food.

It was fine, pretty normal hibiachi experience. They didn’t do an onion fire volcano, and the guy kept trying to throw huge chunks of eggs in everyone’s mouth. No one caught them. There were eggs every where. All over the table, all over the floor, down all the women’s shirts. We found eggs in our pockets when we went home. We had no eggs with our food because he threw them everywhere lol. There are no hoods near the hibachi tables so the floor is covered in grease. Im talkin slip and slide wet and wild kinda slick in that mf so be careful or wear no slip shoes. I pooped mud water for a day or so after as well. Food was good though so take it for what it’s worth.

I ordered the "Teriyaki Chicken Hibachi with fried rice & a side of "Crab Rangoons". The only thing I liked from my meal was the fried rice. The Teriyaki Chicken was very chewy & had a weird taste to it. The vegetables weren't cooked long enough & were therefore hard. You can call the Crab Rangoons shell-goons because they had no filling & it was just fried shell. I haven't had Shogun Bistro or Shogun Express in years because of reasons like this and I'm sad I tried it again.

Greasy floor. Our chef didn't give a show. Our order was incorrect. He just cooked in front of us. Not interaction. No show. Food too salty. Not coming back.

We sat at the hibachi table for 22 minutes before leaving because no one come by to serve us. No drinks, no food. Very disappointing.

Great food and friendly service. My steak hibachi was perfectly cooked and I loved the zucchini because it wasn't overcooked. The pink lady roll has much less filling than I remember, but still delicious.

4.5 stars Popped in for lunch and the place was surprisingly very busy. Quick seating at the bar was available with access to the TVs. Hibachi tables further in the back and standard tables here and there. Place was clean and looked great inside. Tried a bento box which is a decent value at 14 bucks. Soup was good and salad was mid as it was just barely cold iceburg lettuce with like a mayo based ginger dressing. The potstickers were perfect and the teriyaki steak was very good. Spicy tuna roll was filling and had good flavor. I will be back to try more.

We celebrated my sons 50th birthday. Enjoyed the chef and the food was good. I would recommend it to everyone. Price was ok too. Sit at the grill you'll love it

Worst experience ever. My husband, two kids, and I came here on Saturday night. We decided to eat at a table instead of hibachi, which was our first mistake. Our waitress seemed fast and efficient at first, only to later be rude and very unprofessional. My husband ordered two sushi rolls and a salad, I ordered two sushi rolls, and we got our kids a side of noodles. I wish we had taken pictures of the food we were given. It all looked like leftovers from someone else’s plate. My husband’s salad looked old and out of date. We’ve gotten sushi that looked better cut, fresh, and put together from Kroger than what we received here. In addition, the sushi I ordered was supposed to be cooked, and yet I received one roll that was completely raw. When I asked the waitress about it she laughed, said it had been ‘seared’ so it was not raw, although the sushi I received hadn’t touched any heat at all. She then was very rude and wanted to know if I had another problem or if that was it.. I said no, and I didn’t even touch the roll. My kids tried the noodles, but our oldest decided to not eat anymore after her first bite. Our youngest ate a few noodles. They tasted like they’d been heated up in a microwave and they had a ton of dark runny sauce just sitting in the bottom of the bowl. So I decided to eat those so that I didn’t leave hungry. When we paid before leaving, the waitress again looked at at our table at the untouched food and smiled at us super exaggerated and hovered over my husband’s shoulder while paying when it asked for a tip, then hurried us out the door (not like we needed any more reason to leave)….$60 and 12 hours later, I ended up getting food poisoning from those noodles and have been sick for the last 3 days. Our 10 1/2 month old son has been sick as well. Thankfully I’m the one who ate the majority of the rancid food and not our 2 year old daughter. I would avoid this place like the plague, and the waitress we had as well!

Bento box was average, nothing exciting. I have had better. Miso soup was awful, if you can call it Miso. Staff was courteous and timely.

Went for my birthday. Everything was good, however the cook didn't interact with us much and even though my husband told the waitress it was my birthday and that we wanted the drums they never came out to do it.

the service was good didn't take long on my order but I got home and after eating part of it and also feeding some to my daughter I noticed a dead fly in my food and lost my appetite tried to call but they was busy will try to call back in a few minutes

I went here for my 40th 🎂. The food was amazing🍣🍹. Loved everything about this place. I sat outside in the front in the cover patio. The bad thing about that is all the cigarette smoke.🚬🤭🤢

Never a dull moment in this place! Our server was absolutely perfect, and the hibachi chef was pretty good. The kids loved the experience! The food was amazing. I highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Tataki.

Horrible horrible horrible! The incompetence is second to none! This is this 3rd time I’ve ordered sushi and pay for extra wasabi and DIDN’T receive what I paid for! I called and spoke with a manager and the disregarded my concerns each time. Ridiculous service

As usual, we love Shogun! My daughter tried the Bao Buns and loved them! She said the pork had great flavor and she could eat the bun bu itself!

Disappointing takeout experience. We ordered two appetizers and a hibachi meal and got home to find one app missing. Bag was stapled closed which deterred us from checking the contents when we picked it up, but that was our mistake. We had a toddler to feed so we didn’t have time to return to the restaurant to remedy the situation. The salad also contained 1/3 lettuce that was rusty.

The first time there I has a great Experience the service and the cook where Amazing. The food very delicious. I recommend the restaurant to anybody.

The food was good as always, our chef did not interact with us. The chef at the next table was excellent. He interacted with the customers. Our waitress was great.

The food was delicious and over-the-top plentiful. I'm fat and was full before I was even 1/4 done (leftovers!!). Service started off slightly rocky but quickly improved. $64 + gratuity for 2 people. Dinner for 2 w/ filet & chicken, plus 2 drinks. Not bad at all in my book. The older gentleman in the apron at the podium was great to watch. His natural energy is unparalleled! We will absolutely be back.

Seared Ahi tuna for appetizer- it was seared, but not hot- so I don't know when it was seared, maybe Tuesday, maybe Friday. I was excited when I saw the menu, but disappointed with the food. For the premium price they are asking, I'll go to the mall and save a few bucks. I won't be back.

Absolutely terrible quality, every single time. I just paid $45 to have 2 fried rice bowls delivered. One of my bowls only had 1 piece of steak and 2 pieces of unseasoned chicken. The store wanted to argue and refused to make it right, as nice as i was. At first they agreed to remake it for me if i drove to the store, but for some reason decided not to follow through with their promise. This store is ripping people off and not giving them what they pay for, not to mention the meat doesnt even have salt on it. 0/10, worst experience ever. Will not be back. The guy i talked to on the phone was named justin, he has an attitude. The managers name is ricky, and he doesnt care about customers or the quality of the food being served.

The food was amazing! The chefs are great too! It's cool watching them fix your food in front of you; they also add in some tricks they do! It's a bit pricey, but you pay for what you get. I would recommend the Teriyaki Chicken.

I’ve been a customer of shogun forever. What was more disappointing than the food poisoning three of us got yesterday was the response from the manager when I called to alert him. His response; “We served over 900 meals and you’re the first. What do you want me to do about it?” Well, there’s always a first. It seems he was willing to refund me my money if I had a receipt from the hospital. If he had been a little more receptive and not so defensive he would have realized I was calling to inform him so he could take precautions for future customers, not for a refund. The service was good while there. The food was spoiled. The place needed cleaning. Management is lacking.

The food was really good and the service was also amazing. I’ve been here time and time again, the only problem I have is you normally have to sit at a table with other people that aren’t in your group.

UPDATED REVIEW! See previous review below this one. From 5 stars to 3 stars in just 2½ months. As you can see, our first visit was great! Our second visit? Not so much. First, the place was very dark, inside and outside. When we pulled up, there were no lights on in the parking lot and no lights on the building. Inside, some areas were very dark, including the restrooms. I could barely see what I was doing in the restroom stall. I was there for good food though so I didn't worry too much about it. My family of 6 was seated at a hibachi. We got comfortable and a few minutes later I'm asked to move my chair and things a bit to seat a couple with us. No big deal, they were nice. Everyone at the hibachi had steak and/or chicken combos. With the exception of the couple ordering appetizers we should have all had about the same amount of food. We did not. They had more than us and left with lots. During our last visit we had A LOT of leftovers, not this time. Actually the amount of food we ended up with was not worth the money that we spent. It seems to me that they shorted us food because there were two more people at the table. Our server was nice, the guy cooking the food wasn't friendly. The food was tasty though. Overall, I am very disappointed with my second visit and may not be back. That sucks because I really enjoyed my first visit there. Lack of consistency is bad for business. Got the bang bang chicken & chicken fried rice for take out- both my husband and i got sick right after eating

Food was good but the chef ... not so much.

The hibachi chef was amazing, entertaining and funny! Came here for my son's birthday and they sang happy birthday and played drums, (twice) The food was top notch. We got wayyy more than we anticipated and it was worth every penny. 10/10 highly recommend this place.

Good was amazing and chef was awesome. His name was Chebie. His mix of flavorings was the best I have her here. We did the 2 meals for $45 steak and chicken and the portions are good sized. Chef was also a good entertainer. The food was very tasty and fresh.

The food is pretty good. We tried Grilled Chicken Ramen and Angus Beef rolls. Rolls are very interesting. Never tried rolls with meat. It's like if you want a steak and sushi at the same time. Taste good though. Ramen was lacking a bit of spice to my taste. Had to add up some wasabi to it. And there was a little piece of egg shell in it. But the atmosphere is rather noisy. I'd prefer something quieter Sunday evening.

Food was ok not great; others in my party generally enjoyed it. The service, however, was absolutely atrocious. Waited way too long to get acknowledged after seating and then food took forever to get delivered. And it was brought out in random stages with entrées before appetizers/sushi rolls and other oddities. The most egregious affront came when I mentioned to server that she forgot my order of large saki that I wanted with my food and her response was “oh yeah” then she dropped the check and left. This is after she had disappeared the entire meal and we got zero drink refills or any other attention. They were not busy at all, it was later on a Sunday. I wish I had gotten her name so owner/manager might discuss with her. It was the first time in my life that I’ve left a sub-20% tip. Literally. I wanted to leave 0 but I’m not a Neanderthal. It’s a shame that one employee can negatively affect the reputation of a company. I doubt I would return to this specific location, and probably wouldn’t go out of my way to patronize any other sites. Side note: no specific vegetarian options and they don’t offer tofu as a protein selection for ANY dishes.

I recently dined here. I have only been once before this last experience and I typically prefer to eat at their drive through locations as I enjoy their bowls. This last experience was terrible. I don’t not like their hibachi rice, noodles, salad, or soup. I asked the waitress if it was possible to just get the hibachi chicken and vegetables since I didn’t want any of the other hibachi meal items. She said yes. So I place my order for just that. She returns with a salad and soup to start the meal. I tried to deny receiving it and explaining I did not want it. But she said it’s okay. So I just gave them to someone else to eat. The hibachi experience and meal were fine. My chicken was cooked properly and the vegetables were tasty. The meal ends and the waitress brings me my check. I see that she has charged me 19.00 dollars for a hibachi meal. I called her over explaining I asked if I could just get the chicken and veggies ala carte and she told me yes. She goes to talk to someone. Ultimately she said there’s nothing she could do. What a waste of money. I will not be dining her again.

Everyone were nice and accommodating. The food and chef were engaging and fun. Great food and atmosphere. Because it was my birthday the drum player, made Everyone happy 😊. Loved our experience ❤. Only issue my husband got confused on the bill for tipping. He followed the instructions on the drive, only to realize later that it doesn't tip the waitress or chef.😥 this needs to be fixed.

Great Japanese steakhouse! My pregnant wife has been craving good Asian food for a while. We have not found many great options in Bowling Green. We decided to go here for her birthday to satisfy that craving and we did not leave disappointed. Great food (the hibachi combo for two was a great deal), Sumo sushi roll, and wonderful service.

I had been there in the spring of this year and got a grill guy who kept calling me Mom and Grandma!!! Very RUDE. I did not say anything about it and went ahead and gave a 20% tip. I was asked to go again today, and I went ahead and wouldn’t you know, I got the same grill guy who seemed to recognize me and started calling me Mom and Grandma again! This time my tip was 1 cent. I made sure the lady that was our server got a $10.00 tip and I told her not to share with grill guy!! I hope he realizes that old people give tips!! And if I ever go there again, which is doubtful, I will tell him in front of all the table that he is extremely rude and walk out! Also, the mushrooms are a favorite of mine, but he only asked 2 people if they wanted mushrooms and both said no. He never asked anyone else and quickly started cleaning his grill. I think he purposely overcooked my chicken till it was tough and tasted almost burned! And he just kept putting on more and more teriyaki until it was sticky and had a really bad taste. The prices for dinner was what the two of us got, so my bill without tip was$47.00. Tell your stupid grill boys to remember that Moms and Grannies pay tips!

Wish I would have taken a photo. Went for lunch. Everything was hot and tasted fresh. Can't go wrong with $14 Bento box for lunch and was told it's $12 on Fridays. Very friendly wait staff and food came out quickly. We will be back for sure! Thank you Shogun Bistro for a great 1st time experience!

Absolutely a wonderful experience to take my grandsons there for their first time. My Six year old grandson was so amazed at the entertaining he said he liked it better than the circus. Lol. The food was so good. Recommend this Shoguns 👌

Horrible customer service & overpriced food.

The food here was good, but the sushi needed improvement. Somehow, the table across from us kept tossing egg bits at us while trying to feed his guest. We laughed and joked about it.

We got the Bento Box dinners. There was lots of variety in what went in the boxes. Everything was cooked fresh and was flavorful. Included but not pictured was salad, miso soup, and dessert. I don't recommend the appetizers. We got the pork bao buns and crab rangoon. It wasn't on the same level as the dinner food as far as taste and freshness. We would definitely go back for the bento box dinners if we were locals!

Best Hibachi I’ve had so far wayy better than sake house in SC

Shogun’s hibachi brings people in but someone like me stays for their gaisha roll. It’s flavor packed in and out, topped with fresh fish and roe. Won’t lie it’s hard to find it a match anywhere else, and even harder to eat another sushi in one sitting. I also enjoy their miso soup with some extra seaweed. Crab rangoons with their golden crust and hibachi chicken, shrimp, scallops. It’s all delicious!

This place is way over priced , when most of the meal is just rice , 25 dollars for for a single meal, in the bar? Not even on the entertainment table? Is just ridiculous , not entry soup in the kid menu? 16 dollars, Well , At least we have Kyotos , so bad is close on sundays

We arrived with a party of 5, with no reservation (coming from Portland Tn, which is about a 40 min drive). The wait was about an hour only because literally everyone was there with it being 4 days until Valentine's Day. The Chef was absolutely fantastic and the show was impeccable!! I actually caught a piece of chicken in my mouth when he tossed it into the air lol lol!! The staff was very nice and we never once had to ask or wait for anything. I want to thank the staff and our chef for the absolutely amazing job they did. We felt as if we were the only people there, even though the restaurant was completely packed. So, if you ask me, completely worth the wait and completely worth the drive.

Overall a great place to eat. Don't be like me and bring your introverted girlfriend to one of these places though. Food was amazing, my drink never got completely empty!

My husband and I paid $60+ dollars for rice and chicken ONLY. We didn’t get anything else but drinks and it was $60+?!?! Unless u just got your taxes back don’t come here. It ain’t THAT good.

Our grandson for his birthday wanted a place where they cook the food in front of you. The few places around Nashville area suck so we drove an hour waited 30 minutes and the smile on all our grandkids faces was worth the trip. Food was great, service was great and our cook had all of us laughing. Thank you for giving our grandson a great birthday dinner. We will be back.

This place was fantastic. Great service, and they have great food too. Their bento box dinner is a great value, comes with your choice of protein, vegetables, a salad, soup, sushi, a couple springrolls, and a desert. The food was made hot and the sushi was served chilled, all as it should be. Very tasty, cooked well. Highly recommend the place.

Food was FREAKIN AMAZING. Always consistent. Always large portions and Fresh. Chef was AWESOME and Engaging.

First and last time ordering. Host was rude 1/1/23 and food wasn't secured.

Rating them one star because my to go order was wrong. Ordered teriyaki steak & asked for extra white sauce. I got my order. It had no teriyaki sauce on it. No extra white sauce & they charged me extra for the white sauce. I called & spoke to the manager. He did not apologize for them leaving out the teriyaki sauce. No apology for charging me extra for the white sauce & leaving it out. I’ve never had a problem with them before. If you cannot even say “sorry” one time for making two errors then I cannot give them a good review. I won’t be returning to them. And when my friends ask where to get sushi I won’t recommend shogun. Sorry way to do business. And the manager even took my name & number & said he would call me back in a couple of hours. Two days later & no call. Thank goodness there are other restaurants in town that I can give my money to.
