Wonderful people, delicious tea and samples

I absolutely love this store!! The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming, and there is such a large variety of not only teas and coffees, but also snacks and mugs as well. It's a perfect place to find a gift, or to just treat yourself to something delicious. Not to mention, the staff is incredibly friendly as well! I was helped by Sarah, and she was very knowledgeable about the products and incredibly pleasant to chat with. Can't wait until I run out of tea so I'll have an excuse to come back!!

I discovered Simpson & Vail through the PBS Shop when I purchased the National Parks tea collection. I've only tried five of the ten so far and I'm blown away! I've loved every one and they truly nailed the essence of each park. I immediately went to their site and bought the Literary collection as a gift for our elementary school librarian, and the Dessert collection for myself. I drink tea every night and love having a variety of flavors depending on my mood/weather/season, so these samplers are such a treat and the perfect gift for tea lovers!

I love a good local gem- and this is one for sure!! This store has everything for a tea lover. I came with my boyfriend on Monday the 22nd because he loves tea and was gifted a set of their teas a few years ago and loved them. I’ve been wanting to take him to check it out and we happened to be in the area. They have tons of great stuff- as gifts for yourself or a friend! Tea cups, honeys of all kinds, spiced tea cup mats, even candles and dish towels. They also have the cutest selection of tea tins!! You can pick a tin, and different types of teas, as they have TONS all over the store. Im not a big hot tea person (although I try) but they even had ice tea bags!!!! I got myself the mango hibiscus tea and I can’t wait to try it!!! I also purchased a really nice smelling natural candle (made with essential oils and natural herbs and such) We can’t wait to go back!

great atmosphere, great tea accessories, not great tea I was given $100 dollars to spend at this tea shop and I was so excited. I spent around $85 dollars on tea and the rest on accessories. While the accessories were great, the tea was not. The thing is the teas are more aromatic than they are robust in taste. I followed the instructions on the bag on how to brew the teas but they tasted like nothing. One of them actually gave me an allergic reaction. I tried different ways to brew/make it but they all turned out tasteless or gross. Very disappointed and I don't think I will be buying tea here again.

Very nice tea shop. They also have coffee, but tea is the main attraction. The staff was very friendly and the location is very pretty. Would go there regularly if we lived in the area.

I’m so glad I was able to visit the Simpson & Vail store! I have ordered from them online a few times and receive their catalog, so it was so exciting to go there in person and see all their teas available. Pam was incredibly friendly and helpful, and even offered recommendations for things for us to do in the area. I left with a ton of great teas for both myself and for family gifts. I hope to return in the future but am also glad that they offer shipping for when I run out! My personal favorites are the White Chocolate Peppermint, the Carrot Cake Cupcake and the Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble.

We drove in from Pennsylvania on our way to Cape cod. I’ve been receiving your catalogs for years and took the opportunity to stop as it was right on our way. The teas are absolutely fabulous and there are samples to smell and a tea “ bible “to browse through to make the perfect selection for you. I’ve also purchased the coffee online and they are superior! Kona blend is my husband’s favorite. So glad we stopped 😋

I️ spent about 2 hours at the Simpson and vail shop because there is SO much to see and smell. The owners Joan and son Jim helped me personally figure out the best decaf black teas and helped me pick some new ones to try out. The amazing thing is you can buy as small as 1oz of tea for a couple bucks. It gives you 10-12 cups and allows you to try a variety of teas. They hand measure everything on a scale from the 1930s! I’ve seriously become a lifelong fan and will be returning to this tea company again and again to try new teas and test out some of their coffees. It will be via online order as I️ am just visiting the area. I’m so glad that I️ visited because it’s such a treat to smell the different teas and see the variety. Joan recommended circling in the catalog the ones that I’ve tried. I’ve starred the ones that I️ want to try! Their blueberry crumble rooibos is award winning and I️ can’t stop drinking it, it’s so amazing. I️m going to stop by again right before we leave the area and buy more of the blueberry and then buy some other teas and flavored coffees to try out. I’m such a fan of family owned, small businesses. This is definitely one I️ will continue supporting.

If you like tea, it is a must to go there. It is my go-to for tea and accessories. The best blends and always a great cup.

I got tea delivered for a school project. I got a 100 on that project. Timely delivery and great teas.

This is the best tea shop. The staff makes you feel part of the family and there tea selections are amazing!!! I will not buy tea any other place.

I have shopped online with Simpson and Vail several times. They have an amazing selection of top quality teas. Their custom blends are very carefully designed- for instance the National Parks blends feature ingredients of each area. Nice teaware and specialty food items Excellent customer service and prompt delivery.

Found out about this tea shop while browsing gifts at a boutique shop in NJ. Good thing the actual store in Brookfield is closer! Purchased the dessert tea assortment for two friends. Both were thrilled. Also purchased gluten free cookies and specialty cookies from Maine as gifts and Apple Cinnamon French Toast black tea for myself. I plan to return for the Literary Tea Collection and the Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble tea. They had Oolong tea and coffee to sample in pretty tea cups and many interesting knick knacks to look through. It was a great find!

Wonderful selection of more teas and tea accessories than you can imagine! And the people are very helpful -even for tea beginners like me. We bought "Texas-sized" tea bags for iced tea, and they are easy to use and delicious!

If you are a tea lover or just interested in the health benefits of herbal remedies, this place is for you! Located by to a tranquil quarry, immediately you are seduced by the aroma of peaceful tea leaves. Great for gifts or just a day trip! The staff are helpful and provide you with everything you need to get started on your tea journey!

Only had the pleasure of shopping in person once. The staff was beyond helpful. I have yet to be disappointed by any of their selections.

We have tried tea from at least 10 different brands and shops and no one comes even close to the teas from Simpson & Vail. We have sampled many of their teas and we have yet to find any that we didn't like. They are flavorful (but not overbearing), delicious, and they have a wide variety. We love all their teas but we're particularly fond of the creme brulee black tea, the winter wonderland rooibos, and the dragonfruit rooibos. At this point, we've just stopped purchasing tea from any other seller. And, as an added bonus, they have fast shipping and wonderful customer service.

I live out of state, and I hope to visit the SV store some day. But I discovered Simpson & Vail years ago and have been a regular customer of their online store. They have an excellent selection of teas — all the varieties and blends you can think of. Darjeeling, Ceylon, oolong, in-house blends, rooibos, and so many other good ones. One of my favorites was a Kenyan black tea they used to carry (might still). We’ve found some incredible teas that we love. Thank you SV for providing great service and quality teas!

I've only ordered online, not visited the store, but I needed to praise them somehow! I got the National Park teas set as an early Christmas gift and loved them so much, I gave S&V teas as gifts to a bunch of people. It's not just the flavorings that are delicious - the quality of the base tea is outstanding, fresh and pungent. With my last order, I got their full catalog and am delighted to see how many varieties of tea and COFFEE (!!) they have available. I'm hooked!

It's a wonderful place to visit and browse. The people are wonderful. They greet you, make suggestions and are very helpful. The best part is the smells!!!!!

Amazing and delicious tea! So many great flavors and kinds. Even the coffee is awesome. Fast shipping, fresh product, I LOVE this place. The creamy toasted coconut oolong is addictive; hot or iced, it's the best.

A doctor recommended that I take Tylenol for my G.I pains (not happening). I purchased Rooibos-lemon ginger! Oh my GOODNESS my pain subsided after my 1st cup!! Plan to return very soon! I got my eye on the West Africa Rooibos. Thank-you for waiting on me few minutes after closing :) also, I raved to all my tea lovers to check you guys out!

5 Star tea for sure! I recently had a sample of a root beer tea by another company and loved it! But when I went to reorder it, I wasn't sure I wanted to sell a kidney just to get some tea, so I started looking for other companies that had root beer tea and found Simpson & Vail. They have a great selection and great prices so I decided to give it a shot. Oh my! The dessert teas are amazing! The Caramel Walnut Shortbread and Carrot Cake are my favorites so far; the Almond Sugar Cookie has real almond slivers in the tea; and the root beer... smells and taste just like old fashion sarsaparilla. I highly recommend picking up a couple of their teas to try.

I am a tea drinker, no coffee for me. I decided to give this company a try for the first time as I saw the high reviews. I must say overall I was very disappointed in their products. I gave them three stars as overall the prices are quite reasonable, otherwise the rating would have been lower. I should say my tastes are towards flavored teas, both herbal and caffeinated. I found their blends to be weak and nondescript , nothing I would choose to purchase again. The only tea I would rate slightly higher was the White Ambrosia, it was nice, but still not one I would purchase again. One tea had a horrible taste, Creamy Toasted Coconut oolong, it tasted bitter and burnt, even when brewed as directed. That tea I would rate a 1.

Thank you for posting updates and informing us the steps you guys are taking to ensure hygiene and safety of your coffees. We have been buying coffees from you for the past few months. Our coffee consumption has gone up by quite a bit since we have been mandated to work from home. I was getting worried that we would be without coffees! Thank you for continuing to serve your "printed-catalogs-serve-us-no-purpose" customer!

Excellent loose-leaf tea blends at a very reasonable price. I ordered a bunch of floral blends the first time, because they had so many delicious-sounding mixes. But I was concerned since I'd never actually tasted their teas. No need to worry, they were all excellent!

Very inviting quaint tea shop with quality loose teas delicious and reasonably priced... the owner is wonderful I love listening to his stories of history and is very knowledgeable of the surroundings and business. The staff is very friendly and accommodating .. I highly recommend this place for gift giving or just to have something to sip in your own quiet time...

I worked with Simpson and Vail over the phone, and they were just wonderful! My mother gave me a tea that had fallen into the abyss of her tea collection, which was about a decade old - it quickly became my favorite tea. When I ran out, all I had to go on was a Whole Foods bulk label marked "Blue Mist". After much searching, I finally found a photo of a blend that looked the same, and it lead me to Simpson and Vail. They confirmed that they did indeed sell in bulk about 10 years ago, to the specific Whole Foods where it was originally purchased! I loved the 'old' tea, but I couldn't believe how aromatic and flavorful the blend was fresh! Their customer service was above and beyond, and their tea is phenomenal. I'll absolutely be ordering from them again. :)

Great selection of high-quality whole leaf teas and house-roasted coffee. Leaves Teavana in the dust! A real hidden gem, and a must visit for tea and coffee lovers.

I have received holiday gift's of their tea's from friends each for year's. It was time to make my own trek to the store. Wow. Their tea selection is next to none. Special blends of Coffee's too. They'll explain the intricacies of brewing a perfect cup of tea and, if you wait, will serve you a smidge from their selection. Tea type and best practices can be found @ their website. If you drive up, you'll see a nondescript structure. Once you walk in, you'll find a welcoming hot/cold drink center set on the shore of a peaceful pond.
