The food is good and plenty of it, and variaty.

Terrific oriental buffet. Price is very reasonable. Choices are the best around. Take out or dine in, either way is great. Low service Mark because they only have one lady doing most of the service and checkout. She works hard.

The food was almost okay almost tasty but everything went South I could not eat anymore once my husband had to kill the fleas on our table The health department seriously needs to come in and have this lady clean up the place it is very very very very very dirty there are roaches and mice lurking underneath the dessert table behind the counter The dishes not clean they are still crusty The place has a stench smells horrid there are cobwebs on the walls and Corners that have been there since the restaurant opened The health department needs to observe how they keep on putting food on top of food on top of food they do not put fresh food they do not change out the food they continue to pile up food on top of the old food that is food poisoning waiting to happen bacteria multiplying every time they pour hot food over the old dirty food The lady manager server everything lady is the most rudest person on Earth We will never return and we will ensure to tell everyone we know to stay away from Smiley's Cafe

I love this place it's always delicious and has a variety of food. Sea food, fruit, desert, egg rolls, spring rolls egg drop soup, so many different drinks, all types of chicken two different types of noodles two types of rice

After watching the sunset from Baisha, we went to smiley’s cafe for dinner. We got there very late, almost 8:40. The store actually closes at nine o'clock, so we arrived a little late. But the boss was very enthusiastic and let us dine in. Although the restaurant is American-style Chinese food, it is the best American-style Chinese food I have ever eaten (it has many more choices than Panda Express, the taste is also very good, and the price is very affordable). The fried rice noodles are especially delicious! If you pass by Alamogordo, you can give it a try. What was particularly touching was that we wanted to drink hot and sour soup, but it was almost closed, and the boss even made one for us. Highly recommended, thank you 🙏

The owners are amazing. We came in late at night right before they were about to close. My girlfriend was craving for hot and sour soup after a long hike at White Sands National Park. The waiter said that they would make some new soup for us since there wasn’t much left. This was right before they were about to close. We really appreciate their hospitality. The food is amazing for the price. We really wanted to leave a tip to them but couldn’t since we didn’t have any cash on us. Leaving a good review is the least we can do and we definitely will come back in the future. 老板如果看到了的话，再和你们说声谢谢🙏☺️

Fred’s Day Off Just 2 buffet serving tables where so many have a room full of meal choices, how does Smiley 😊 do it with suv Ch few choices? What they do have is one incredible cook yup just one person does the cooking. I’ve been to other buffets where there are too many choices and have you eating let’s say beef w/ broccoli and maybe its presentation is decent but the beef is chewy? Will Smileys marinated their chicken but mainly the beef to perfection. This meal should be at a 4 star restaurant like PF Chang, but I’ll let you into secret Alamogordo, NM it’s at your White Sands Mall & you have a 4 Star cook in your food court. first time eater at this Very small place in Alamogordo mall only few tables. Always seems to be very busy especially on a Sunday where all the people go after church it's quite packed.I gave service only three stars because it's self-serve so there really is no service except for the cashier, I gave three stars for the food but to be fair I did not get a chance to try all of it. They do have a fair selection however of buffet items and I believe they have a per order menu if you want something that's not on the buffet. what I did try was a bit salty and oily but that's to be expected considering I chose spring rolls fried shrimp etc, maybe the other selections are better, and I also gave the atmosphere 3 stars because it's such a very small place That's really jumping with people so you're pretty much fighting for floor space and seating when getting your food you might have to sit out in the mall. And on it's busy days it's very hard to maneuver while you're getting your food with all the other people either standing in line at the cash register or trying to serve themselves pretty jumping place. All in all it's a very good place if you want to fill up for not an expensive price, chances are you will find something that you like. And let's face it it's hard to beat the price so if you want to get full and have a quick bite either take out or sit down you can't really go wrong. You can stuff yourself for little money.

1st time trying and see why it's always busy. Definitely recommend the fried rice. Was super excited about banana pudding until the salt was at the bottom of my bowl. Will go back and give it another try.

Hands down the best cure for cravings and a exceptionally fair price... The food is way beyond delicious and the atmosphere is very inviting and welcoming to all walks of life... We will definitely be back.

We have eaten there several times but yesterday Sunday February 4th was the worst experience ever. The food was ice cold and soggy. The only thing that was hot was egg drop soup. I did tell the cashier that the food was cold he checked the steam table and said it's on. $35 for food that was uneatable we will not be returning

Buffet or order or take out. Good food, easy atmosphere. Only 25 or so items on Buffet, but everything we had was delicious!

Hello fellow restaurant-goers, I am leaving a review for Smiley's Cafe due to my outright dismay at the standards I witnessed there. If you love Smiley's Cafe- this review isn't for you. However, if you have a penchant for delicious food, quality service, and nice restaurant surroundings - don't ignore what I'm about to list. Smiley's is a buffet. The one time I went there, on November 15th, 2023, some of my food was lukewarm. If the food is lukewarm in the serving basins; it isn't food safe. And no, I didn't wait for my food to get cold. Secondly, the food doesn't taste 'right.' At least not the soup that I tasted. It tasted more than 'off.' Also, the water that I was served had a dirty film floating on top. I didn't drink it. When my boyfriend and I entered the Smiley's Cafe unit in the mall- none of the tables were clean. If I recall correctly, there were no other customers there. We were assigned a table that I wouldn't have chosen. Because the staff member chose that one to clean. As I was sitting down at the table, I pulled out the chair next to me to set down my stuff. The chair had a huge chunk missing-- ripped open. If I were the restaurant owner/manager, I would have that chair replaced! After getting my food ..I looked up from my chair.. and in the corner of the restaurant; there was a huge spider web-- CAKED with dust. Horrified, I thought to leave- but since I already had my food; I decided to give the place the Genevieve Parry, (or Gordon Ramsay-style,) treatment. After I left, I felt dirty and gross on the inside. Wouldn't recommend, and honestly would vote to have the place shut down. It makes Alamogordo, NM. look like a joke. I already put in a tip to the State of New Mexico's Food Safety Program. I went back in to Smiley's on the 8th of December and took a photo of the spider web- which I've included for my review. My boyfriend wrote this: "There were what appeared to be food stains and small bits of dried food stuck to the wall next to our table, and they looked like they had been there for a while." This place is a gem. $10 exactly per adult for the buffet after taxes, such a good deal. Like seriously, how can you complain? Their food actually tastes good and has a decent selection of proteins. They even serve salt/paper fried prawns, walnut shrimp, and cheese baked mussels for dinner. Their bourbon chicken, pepper chicken, and sesame chicken is super yummy. I loved their fried thin rice noodles, it reminds me of Singapore fried noodles back at the Asian cafes I used to eat at when I lived in Los Angeles. Their egg drop soup and hot/sour soup is also delicious. You obviously wouldn't come here for the ambiance, and it's a buffet so it's self serve. But seriously, the food slaps especially when it comes out fresh. They charge $10 for to go boxes you can fill with 3 proteins and 1 carb. Towards the end of the day after 5:30 pm or something, it's literally $6.50 an adult which is insane. I'd def come here again, and recommend this place to passerbys visiting Alamogordo.

I like going when they first open that's when everything is fresh. The potatoes are good I like getting the white rice and adding the broccoli beef on top the spicy chicken is also good

One of the fast food asian spots here in Alamogordo. We always eat there and sometimes they have Sundays open which was surprising for us.

It's a buffet so the food is good. Wouldn't compare them to a standard restaurant. The variety is the best. Whether you sit inside or out in the mall, their service is spot on.

Good price, terrible food. Even the rice was way over cooked and mushy. The egg rolls were good, but I have a feeling they don't make those. Unfortunately won't return.

Don't go the sucks dishonest place! We stop by here on the trip to White Sands Park. Very limited space, food is on the average level. Be careful about the lady ( cashier or hostess？). She tried to overcharged $1/each person on my family(We know it's just little money, but we don't want to be cheated). My kiddo found the issue, she blah-blah.. , first she said that's the tax, we showed her our payment included the tax. Then she complained we eat more seafood!!! The only seafood is clam and shrimp, but how can we eat so much seafood ? and it's buffet! Shocked...., because we are stop-by visitors? Dishonest place. Even she returned the overcharge finally, we felt so bad. Won't go back anymore. Not recommend at all.

I stop here everytime I'm traveling up or down 54. This place is amazing. Food ALWAYS on point. Price is unbeatable. Definitely some of the best Chinese food I have ever had.

I have eaten here several times since moving back to NM and I have to say this place has great food at great prices.

The food is good and if you eat in, it's all you can eat and the selection is extensive. The place is small and it was pretty warm but there is seating outside in the mall. The hostess is a little difficult to understand but we managed. Overall, it's a pretty good and reasonably priced buffet. Can't speak on call in or online orders.

Food is good but that woman ( possibly owner) stresses the hell out of me. I went there 2 and both times she thought she charged me wrong and she makes you feel like it's your fault. She came to our table after 20 minutes saying you owe me 3 dollars, give me 3 dollars. I paid extra $3 and then realized she wasn't right, I started counting simple math with her: 3 drinks, 3 buffets is that much and that's what I paid, she wanted to see my receipt so I showed her and she gave me $3 back in cash from cash register. It's embarrassing to say at least to bother eating family for $3 , especially when you are the one who cannot charge people properly. She didn't say sorry once.

Staff is always friendly here with limited English. But it always seems to work out on my needs. Great spot in our mall. Food is most excellent.

My daughter just came home with beef and broccoli from this place and there was a big white worm in it and I called about it and they hung up on me

Good variety Buffet all u can eat for only $10. Or get carryout tray and pack it full same price. Usual asian fare and they even have some seafood. Seseme chicken, general tsao, etc beef broccoli etc and small salad bar with fruit an dessert.

Horrible horrible horrible is all I could say the food was great as usual But we went to go get some cookies and because we took about 7 cookies between my husband and myself the lady that owns the place yelled at me in front of everybody very loud it's supposed to be a buffet all you can eat and I could not believe that she yelled at me and told me I had to pay extra for the cookies she made it look like I was stealing them please beware when you go to the buffet Thank you

Wow! Excellent food and for the price of about nine bucks and all you can eat, this was a wonderful surprise and the food was so good!

Always has great food with an assortment of options. Only downside is only one lady seems to be waiting tables, so getting a drink is hard to come by, but has not kept us from returning.

The employees are nice, but i didnt really like the food.. it wasnt very hot and the sweet and sour was very bland and oily. It just ran all through the bag and all over everything else. There is a pretty large selection you can choose from and its okay if you are in a hurry and cant really wait in a line ....

Easily the best Chinese food in alamogordo. When I first moved to town I had a hard time finding good Chinese food and there were more options back then. This is the best in town, try the other places too if you like but I promise you'll be coming back here.

Went there a week ago Thur. They closed early...sign said close at 8...it was 7:30.....Went again on the following Wed at 5pm.....closed. no reason posted. I really want to try Pho.... I'll try again...

Good food fast. Only problem was the Mongolian pork was cold. It was a fresh pan, but it was like it had just come from the cooler. We will be back the next time we are in town.

One of my favorite restaurants in town. The staff is all very nice and is extremely accommodating with our baby whenever we come in. Most of the negetive reviews fail to realize that this is an inexpensive buffet, not a 5 star Chinese restaurant so expect what should be expected from a buffet. Overall one of my favorite buffets I've been to.

Buffet for dine in or carry out. The food was hot and the employees kept refilling trays as soon as they were low. Some of the chicken was tough. The chicken dishes all tasted the same. It was ok.

I had EVERYTHING…and not one thing sucked. It reminded me of the old buffets in the 90’s. I will be visiting this place again. The ladies that work here are nice and take care of you. Recommend.
