We were referred by a local, and very thankful for that! Delicious BBQ. We had the shoulder plate and brisket plate, dipped. Some of the best meat we've had.

I have loved this place for years! When I come back to Bowling Green its a must have every time.

The food was delicious, quick, and filling. Overall a great value. We are planning to stop our way back through town as well.

We walked in and I said Hello, I was looked at and then ignored for at least 5 minutes so we left and went to Mission BBQ and had a Great experience and Amazing BBQ and Great Service. I'm a Top 10 Reviewer for Google Maps and I Don't Recommend this place !!!

Ate “pulled pork” here Saturday. It was the same pork you get from a can at Walmart. Beans tasted straight from a can. Only smoke is to draw you in. No smoke in the meats. Stay away.

Absolutely the WORST BBQ ever!!!! The pulled pork was straight out a can. The same you get at Walmart for .99a can. The ribs had been boiled and finished the oven and never seen any smoke. The bake beans were Van Camp beans out of can and with no additional seasonings. This place is a avoid at all costs..... would never recommend to my worst enemy.... McDonalds would be better than this place....

The pork shoulder could not be cut with their plastic knife. There was no hint of smoke, and it was paper thin. Even though I asked for sweet drizzle of sauce, between it and the mayonnaise cole slaw, I thought I chemically burned my mouth. Immediately went to a gas station and got ice cream to soothe my tongue and lips.

Raised on Texas BBQ and I was very impressed with Kentucky Bar*B*Q. There Ribs were tender, smokey, flavorful, Hot. Brisket was full of flavor, smokey, also very tender. Took pictures to send back home. Lots of sides and 2 kinds of sauce. I will spread the word.

Smokey pig is the best barbecue In town, We eat there at least once every 2 weeks. Their prices Is reasonable And the people are very nice and kind. Especially the lady behind the counter. She always treats us with a smile and much kindness. Sometimes we done in sometimes we carry out. If there is a line you know, the barbecue is delicious and the people are very nice and kind.

Very expensive! $16.95 for 1 shoulder plate and a drink. Woman at front counter very hateful and rude. She sure didn't need to be working front counter. Use to love this small local business. I use to love this place but now my family and I will go to another establishment to eat.

Look. BBQ places are everywhere but this one is awesome. Shoulder is great, ribs are great, pulled is great. Parking can be tight if busy but seriously, come eat this ‘cue.

Thought this place would be good, based on the reviews. Not so much. The brisket was thinly sliced but dry like leather. Requested the hot bbq sauce, not sure what I received, but it wasn't either bbq sauce or hot. The beans were decent but more soupy then I thought they should be. Coleslaw wasn't bad. I would not return. Service was good.

Great BBQ. We are from Memphis originally, so enjoy good BBQ & this didn’t disappoint. We had the smoke shoulder, which was not what I expected but exceeded my expectations! My wife had the pork sandwich and was very impressed. You just can’t beat a god whole in the wall BBQ joint. Very close to National Corvette museum, so take the 5 minute drive and enjoy some great BBQ (ranked #3 in KY for good reason).

This is by far one of best restaurants ever. I've been coming since the beginning and now I travel from Ohio just for the food. The chicken is the best, but everything on the menu is great. The staff is top shelf all the way from Kay on down. Their like family!

Very good double dipped BBQ Pork Shoulder with homemade Potato Salad and Mayo Coleslaw. My buddy has been coming here for years and I can easily see why. I can’t wait to make another trip out and do not again soon. The staff was also very nice and accommodating with us as well.

This is a must visit if you’re in the Bowling Green area. Had various dishes between family members but I chose the brisket plate. Super tender pieces soaked in a hot vinegar sauce were mouthwateringly good. The pork shoulder had wonderful flavoring as well. I loved their vinegar cole slaw and dunking the mashed red potatoes in the hot sauce was too good. Very friendly staff and although the spot was cozy and dated it was great.

Being from the north, we try to stop at a good, local (not a chain) bbq place every time we go south. We got carryout and the people at the counter were courteous and very helpful. The pork, beans, vinegar slaw, potato salad, and mac and cheese were all good.

This BBQ eatery has a charming small family business feel with excellent quality food. The staff was in constant motion; cooking, serving, cleaning and interacting with the diners. They made you feel welcomed and visually took pride in their fresh prepared meals. We tried several BBQ selections and enjoyed them all: especially the ribs, beef brisket, and hot dogs that were certainly homemade. For sides, our entire family enjoyed the creamy red skinned mashed potatoes, sweet baked beans, and scratch-style macaraoni and cheese. It was authentic, refreshing, and high quality. I can't wait to go back again the next time we visit Kentucky.

Monroe County KY Style Smoked Pork Shoulder. Staple BBQ of western Kentucky. Hickory smoked bbq, fast service, good sides, good portions. Hot dip is decently spicy, kind of a cayenne oil base vinegar. Not your typical bbq sauce per-se but unique and tasty nonetheless.

I've tried it twice and both times were majorly disappointing. Sides are not good. Watered down Mac and cheese...mashed potatoes that taste like instant potatoes mixed with red potatoe chunks ...and baked beans that have nothing in them. Taste like they just heated up a can of store bought beans in a can . BBQ sauce was pretty good but the rest is unacceptable.

Pulled pork and brisket were dry, and portions were just adequate. Scratch that one off the list.

Shoulder was like leather and the sauce is blande. Mac and cheese had no flavor. And the "Texas toast" was just a couple of plain wonder bread slices. The baked beans and mashed potatoes were good but for 2 platers and drinks to be over 30$ it was not worth the price. Gave us indigestion to.

Got pulled pork sandwich, ribs, and brisket. Was told they use hard wood mixture for wood when smoking. Oak and hickory. There was NO SMOKE flavor or SMOKE RING with any of the meat. All three meats could have been cooked in a crockpot. Not impressed and won't be back. Was excited with wood smell when we first pulled up, but that was the only SMOKE that was found today. No BBQ was here but in the name.

Ordered a shoulder sandwich, chips and a large coke. Service was speedy, everyone was nice and the shoulder was terrible!! There were two small thin slices that were dry and resembled jerky.

Try to stop in once a month or so while traveling for work. The food is always on point and the service is top notch. I really enjoy the shoulder plate sprinkled. The use a vinegar based hot sprinkle that is nice and spicy. The sides are always fresh. Definitely recommend giving them a shot. We try to go around 11am before it gets a line out the door at noon.

Had a pulled pork platter! With there delicious Cole slaw! Creamy mac n cheese. Big glass of sweet tea? My wife had the same! Wide variety of side's as well as a large selection of pork! anyway you'd like? A must stop if in Bowling Green.😋

I ordered half of a chicken, mashed potato, macaroni and cheese! The sides were good but the chicken did not taste smoked at all and I asked for sprinkled chicken and definitely did not get it! It tasted liked it had been microwaved or reheated from the previous day! I have liked this place a lot in the past! Great sprinkled chicken and great side but this time has made me decide that it will be a while before I go back if I ever go back! Very disappointed in the “barbecued chicken”.

Stopped for lunch as we were travelling. Easy to find, only1.1 mile from interstate. Service was fast and food was delicious!

Everything was good. The food was awesome. The best that I can remember it was around 30 dollars for the wife and I to eat. The only thing that I didn't like was them asking me to give a tip. They don't bring the food to your table or drinks. The only thing they are doing is making your food in the kitchen. It's kinda like going to a fast food restaurant and the person in the drive-thru asking for a tip.

1st visit, looked at menu online decided brisket plate. Got to restruant, hospitality was expected and it was straight to business, plate was listed at $15.59. Once ordered I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip. Being small town I decided to leave $1. for good faith.. I was left with a bill of $21.42 How in a state where tax is 6% did that get messed up..$3 added to bill with no explanation... Photo after eating one slice, and trying it..

The ONLY bbq joint on my list that's a must stop on my entire list. Everything I've tried on the menu is fantastic... however, i absolutely love the shoulder plate. Dipped and sprinkled, please... if you like it spicy! You will not regret eating here!

We trusted the reviews showing 5 star, I have been to hundreds of bbq across the country and this is with out a doubt the worst experience I have ever had. I normally never write a review. I thought this would be important. My wife ordered a pork shoulder with coleslaw. They didn't offer a knife, so we had to ask. It was tasteless and felt like you were cutting a catchers mitt. The coleslaw was worst ever, tasted like stale cabbage soaked in sugar. The white bread was stale. I had the brisket which was also dry and tasteless. I am 66 years old and this meal goes down as the top worst meal of my life. I told the hotel we are at to not refer anybody to this place. Also the lady at counter asked if we wanted to add a tip, which I did for $5.00. We went the same night to El Mazatlan and had a exact opposite experience, the food was great with very friendly staff.

Food was delicious as usual; however, prices have gone up and portions are getting smaller. Paid over $40 for two and left hungry.

It’s usually hit or miss. Usually a hit. If I were the cooks, I’d take a trip over to Tompkinsville in Monroe County and try to squeeze out the secret recipe for mayonnaise slaw. SP’s is kinda big, chunky, juicy and bland. Great beans - don’t dip it hot - the sauce runoff becomes a plate full of congealed orange-tinted lard in the 15 minutes it takes to get home.

Decent bbq Cooked right, ribs had a ton of seasoning which I don't personally prefer. This is only my personal preference. The Mac and chess was really good as was the coleslaw, staff was really nice.

9/3/22 - We ate here yesterday, and let me say a few things, this place shouldn’t carry the “BBQ” in its name. BBQ is grilled or smoked and this place has neither. As I normally rate a BBQ place for its side dishes because the meat is always good, NOT HERE!, and let alone the side dishes. If you’re going to serve ribs you better be serving baby back ribs or St. Louis style ribs. You are getting pork back ribs here, you know the kind, partial bone, and they were oven cooked, not grilled, not smoked, and they couldn’t even get that part right. So much sauce to hide things. The “pulled” pork, what a joke, more like store bought in a small tub you see in your grocery store. The sides, Mac n cheese, are you kidding me? The cheese didn’t even have flavor. The Mayo slaw seemed store bought as well because these clowns couldn’t make slaw if they tried. How dare you put BBQ in your business name, it’s not deserving of that let me tell you. You want REAL BBQ YOU WON’T GO HERE! If you do go here don’t say my review didn’t warn you. I cook better BBQ than place on my Pit Boss Lexington smoker. Anyone who knows BBQ will see right through this “Smokey Pig”…. Smokey Pig? Really? The only smoke I see was from a city from an employee mouth. Never to return here.

Old school. Good service and prices. Went for take out for a sick friend. He's old school too and loves it.

I love the food at this place, but was very disappointed today after ordering a slaw dog plate. This was never clarified about whether I wanted a “small dog or slaw dog.” I wasn’t even aware that there was a difference. So I chose to leave work for the first time in months to go buy this slaw dog that I was craving, tipped when I pick my food up, which ends up being over $17 for a hot dog and pie, drive back to work, all to find that it was a plain hot dog. I called back because I felt like I should and was just told sorry. And the employee that answered proceeded to argue and tell me that I ordered a small dog which is not the case. Then they smartly asked if I would like to drive back to get a container of cole slaw. After spending my hard earned money and time on lunch to get this, that was very disappointing to hear and be treated that way.

So I just ate here and literally watched a bald man who iguess is a server, take 100 dollars from tip jar! And mind that is for all the waiters and waitresses to split!! That is simply not right!!

If you're ever in Bowling Green Kentucky this is a must stop BBQ restaurant.

Very much overpriced for the amount and quality of the food point blank ! The brisket and shoulder u can't even tell which is which. The sides were very bland with hardly any flavor. And we paid over $50 for everyone to be unhappy with 4 different plates. Used to be so much better. I do not recommend at all

Traveling through Tennessee thought we'd try The Smokey Pig. Not a good decision. Meat tasted like it had been frozen and reheated. The potato salad was really sloppy with lots of liquid and "baked beans" were nothing more than pork n beans with a little brown sugar and they too were too juicy. Our sandwich was some meat in a container and two pieces of sliced bread in a little plastic bag. No bun and make your own. Will NOT be going there again!

Good food. A little pricey for the amount of food you get. My husband got the rib dinner and got 3 bones. They were a little soggy too.
