Food and service was excellent as usual

Just one of the last pieces of South Florida I was soo happy I cried a little

Everyone seemed happy to be having lunch at this place so the atmosphere was good and it had good vibes to it. I ordered the steak hoagie and it was delicious and the meat 🥩 had this superb fresh beet taste to it and it had had the right amount of apices & salt to it. The pickled red peppers 🌶️ were delicious too. My only big mistake was that I picked the cheddar cheese to be put on top of it. I was hoping to see a couple of good tasting cheddar cheese slices on top of it. Instead it was that canned melted yellow cheese you buy at your local grocery store. I felt like I was putting cheap 87 octane gasoline on a Ferrari or Bugatti 😁 That is just my point of view, if the tradition is to use that canned yellow cheese then so be it but definitely I will never ever again order cheddar cheese on my steak hoagie 😁😄😄. Great place, even Guy Fieri has visited the place. I would definitely recommend and come back to this place but no cheddar cheese 🧀 for my steak hoagie please 😂

A cash only piece of steak hogie history. I came in here for lunch recently and it was a delightful experience. Had the steak hogie with add-on mushrooms, peppers, and provolone (red sauce & hot peppers on the side). Highly recommend it. Also the prices are great! A few notes - the red sauce wasn't for me & I personally thought it had too many green peppers. Cash only is a bit of a pain, as well, since it is 2024 & people rarely have cash on them. Will definitely be back to explore the menu a bit more.

This place is so good.... that our son requests to go here every time he has an appointment over at Hollywood Memorial Hospital. He feels like it's a reward!😋

The food was wonderful and the service was fabulous. Our waitress was very attentive even though it was busy and if we needed anything if she was not available someone else helped us.

I give it 2 stars, but if I could I'd give it 2.5 stars, the cheesesteak was way too juicy with fat juices, it made the roll split in half. If you're from Philly you should be using a good roll that can handle your sandwich! It wasn't that great, I am from Philly & these cheese steaks suck compared to a real Philly! I would rather go to Sub Center, they have a great roll & they have great Philly's!!

Old school cheese steak joint. It's not fancy but the bread and steak was fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are not huge but they are very tasty.

This was my very first visit and I absolutely loved it from the easy over the phone ordering, the extra side pickles I asked for being “extra” I even danced in celebration of this good meal to come those 8 inches of freshly made bread hugged those tinder slices of steak bounded by provolone cheese and some veggies to make me feel healthy! Just yummy!!! See y’all there 😊

I ask for a burger no to burn.. That's what I get , at take out. Loose the money Lois the food. Do not go there. Dine in service is good. But check your food before leave or eat there. This restaurant is going down the hill. I suggest think twice... I am definitive do not comeback to throw my money away. Food is to expensive, and getting not affordable to received this cuality.

This is the best steak and cheese I’ve ever had. The service is fast and the staff is always so friendly! I personally get the number 9 with American cheese and the pickled hot peppers on the side. Been coming here for years and don’t think I’ll ever stop!

Not like it used to be. Everything tasted burnt, as if the grill isn't cleaned properly. Employee seemed miserable. Place is very dated. Sub Center in Hollywood Blvd is a much better sandwich for the taste, quality of meat, and cost

So, to begin, this place is pretty good but I have a few concerns. Firstly, what on Earth is that red sauce they serve with the subs?? That makes zero sense. Is that a pizza steak? Anyway, meat is good, get the whiz. Offers peppers and shrooms and such. Cool vibe there.subs are a bit small though. A grown man can easily down two. Cash only mom and pop spot. Will certainly repeat.

Meal was $39.70 we gave a $50 we should’ve had $10.30 change. They only gave us $1.75 back because the waitress tipped herself before giving the change back to me first. Im a tipper but I like to do it not have them do it.

This place has gone so far downhill its amazing the original owner has not come out of his grave to smack someone. The meat has been changed to a cheaper quality, the grease and stink coming out of the sandwich is flat out disgusting. On top of it every order is wrong! How hard is it to make the correct order? We will never be back or give this dump another dime.

OMG!!! Everything here is 10/10 this was my 1st visit and ive gone too many hoagie and Philly cheese steak places this place has an incredible steak hoagie. Come here and order the #50 pair it with there mayo youll thank me later. I will 100% be back to try the chicken parm from the menu.

I appreciated the classic diner feel and service was good. I wanted to like the food so much, as I need to find a go to cheesesteak spot. Sadly the sandwich had literally zero flavor, only thing you could taste was the cherry peppers I added on it. Will say tho the sandwich was good size for the price.

I heard about Sonny’s from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I drove about 40 mins to have lunch there . It didn’t disappoint . Probably the best cheesesteak I have had since moving to Florida . Fresh rolls, perfectly cooked steak with White American cheese mixed in, fried onions they didn’t overwhelm the taste , and, a side of marinara which I have Never had with a cheesesteak. However it was a nice touch instead of ketchup. Delicious .

I rarely give out five stars, but this place deserves them. Excellent service, delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and low prices (allowed for me to tip properly). I had the steak and onion Hogie with melted mozzarella, and the sauce on the side - Delicious!!! I highly recommend this place to anyone. America needs more places like this, instead of the boring, expensive, chain restaurants. If I'm back in this area again, I will definitely stop back in, it was well worth the trip out of my way.

I decided to venture out beyond my local area and out try out some new places on my list. Ive been eyeing this place for a while because I love a good steak and cheese. It also didn’t hurt that it was on diners, drive-ins and dives at least twice and I needed to investigate it myself. It’s a nice family run, takeout or dine in establishment that has been around for 65 years. It’s currently run by brother and sister team, Valerie and John with their kids pitching in. He’s able to keep the prices low because they really want focus on the customers but at the same time bring some excellent fresh choices. Their breads are homemade that they bake in the back as well as the tomato sauce. The steak for the sandwiches is made from rib eye that they slice up fresh for the day. I mean these folks are originally from the Philly area (Germantown) so they know what they’re doing. The place is modern and clean, and as soon as you come, in you can see the team at work making you your sandwich. I have to say Valerie was such a doll to talk to and was super friendly that I could’ve been there forever. I thought the steak and cheese hoagies were excellent and I had mine with provolone and green peppers. The peppers were super soft the way I like it and they included grilled onions. The bread was fresh made of course and the steak was super juicy and tender. They also have an option to put their family tomato sauce on it too. This sauce is also used on pizzas that they make that I have yet to try. After 4 pm is when they make their 12” pizza (13.75 for cheese) and their pasta. It’s definitely a place that I will be returning to because not only are the sandwiches wonderful, but the people who serve it to you are great as well! FYI - CASH only!

Absolutely the best cheesesteaks in South Florida. Haven’t been here since the start of COVID cause I live outside the country. Cheesesteaks continue to be delicious and a good prices. Love the atmosphere and the service is fantastic.

I'm a super picky eater and I was here with other people who all got the cheesesteaks and they all enjoyed them very much. I ordered my usual sandwich and it was excellent. They also have awesome shredded/ crushed ice. I ordered the French dressing on a salad and to me it was more of a thousand island dressing which is not my thing. The only thing that was a slight issue is they are cash only. I don't carry cash so that complicated matters a little bit. Overall it was a great experience and I am happy to have gone there.

I've visited this hidden laid back restaurant many times. Everytime I go I tell myself that I'm going to order something other than a steak bomb. I just can't because they are so delish. Great Philly Cheese Steak Hogies on homemade bread. Old school place that my parents used to eat at and now it's one of my favorite places. If it's good enough for Guy Fiere it must be good. And the price is old school also!
