Souvlaki is a local legend of an establishment! I absolutely love everything on the menu. The owner and staff are great! I consider myself blessed to have grown up eating at Souvlaki. I highly recommend it!

Great food in the heart of the Virginia Tech Campus.

Best gyros around seriously! The tzatziki sauce is so delicious. The gyro (lamb) meat is very tasty. I eat there every week and learning the history behind the current owner and how he worked there before he owned it. Shout out to Mike!! The kabobs are flavorful and the pita with cheese is a simple classic. The baklava is amazing! Best baklava I ever tasted. Also the staff is very friendly and communicative. Young but nice and good people. It gets busy sometimes but staff holds their composure. Only bad thing is the parking but it is right next of Virginia tech so what can you expect? Theres outdoor seating and it’s so nice during summer. Anyways try it out!! I love it!

The food was cheap but not great compared to other Greek restaurants I've been to. I had a bite of my kid's pita pizza and it lacked flavor. The place feels like a dive bar but more about the food and beer being the only alcohol served. The young guys running the place were doing a good job keeping up with the whole place just the two of them.

We ate outside and it was a beautiful afternoon! The owner was so kind and sociable and took time to tell us about his history with the business. We will definitely be back!

I met the owner Mike and spoke with him during my visit. He is a hard-working businessman that has a genuine handle on supporting his staff i gathered from their conversation. School is out y'all! No better time to go. Support local small businesses especially in off-peak times. I had two chicken kabobs and a Greek salad. Everything was delightful.

There were only two young people working. We came in and sat down at the "bar," were greeted and began looking over a menu. We were ready to order about 3 minutes later when next thing we knew, something like three large-ish groups came in, and the server was just standing at the register, taking orders one after the other from the people standing in a line from the door. She never came back to us. The cook couldn't do anything else but make food because there was no one else to help. Who staffs a food place with only two people on a Friday night? We just left and ate at Square 5, rather than continue to be ignored and to watch her take the orders of people who came in after us

Inattentive staff with minimal knowledge of the food or beer menu served on/in plastic. Maybe OK for university students on a budget but we didn’t enjoy and expected more as adults. Oh well……we survived.

Mike the owner is awesome and his team know how to make great food!

I tried the Deluxe sub large and it was really big and delicious. I think you can roughly think of the size of the large sub as being about 1.5 feet.

When I moved to Blacksburg in 2015, this place was awesome. Good prices and solid Gyro. When I returned after two years away, I thought I really missed their food but now they hardly give you much meat and the service is indifferent. Prices have more than doubled.

We took my daughter and her fiance for a late lunch because we've loved this place for over 30 years. The Gyros and Souvlakis were amazing. Unfortunately, the fries were room temperature and stale. The server was great and took them off of our bill (we didn't eat them) but being served them in the first place was VERY disappointing.

The food was absolutely delicious, offering authentic Greek flavors that left me craving more. The restaurant had a laid-back yet friendly atmosphere, making it perfect for a casual meal or a gathering with family and friends. What pleasantly surprised me were the very reasonable prices, making it a great value for the quality of food and experience. I highly recommend Souvlaki for anyone looking for a taste of Greece in Blacksburg.

I don't agree with the other reviews saying it's not a lot for the price - the quantity felt fine. The quality however is something else - it's pretty bland and dry. No salt anywhere (yes, there's salt on the table, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be used when cooking). I had the gyro, falafel, and curly fries. The best tasting thing was the ketchup. Ordering is strange - they take your order, you sit down, and there's a chance your food might get lost/forgotten about (one person on the grill). It's a hole in the wall with heavy metal music. They charge extra if you pay by credit card (which honestly is absurd in today's age). But that's kind of where it exists - as an old establishment that revels in it's old age and doesn't want to move forward with the times. That's not a good thing in the end.

Best Gyro in The NRV! On the campus of VT, so you must pay to park unless your doing a to-go order. Food was extremely fresh, plus you can watch them fix your meal. The staff were polite and very helpful. An outside eating spot as well, so that made the experience even better. I recommend this small corner restaurant to anyone to anyone near the VT area.

Great gyros, great prices. Place hasn’t changed much in 30 years. Not fancy but probably the best quick meal in Blacksburg. Baklava is legit and well worth it if you want dessert.

This place is a hole in the wall in the best way. The food was delicious and the service was fast. We had the lamb gyros for $6.25 each. They’re a bit on the small side, but it’s fair given how cheap the price was. We ended up going back for seconds because the food was so good. Will definitely be back.

Hands down, THE best Gyros. Additionally, staff is just awesome to be around. They know how to treat their customers. I have been driving from Salem to Blacksburg and now from Bluefield to Blacksburg since I was 16, 41 years ago. Worth every mile. 💕

Food was ok, not a normal Greek Restaurant. There are no plates, or silverware. Portions are small certainly not warranting the cost. We were dissapointed.

Souvlaki is amazing - the food is off the charts. It's amazing - when you walk in, it's like entering a time warp. They still have the old fashioned menu board with the plastic letters. Nice little selection of beers as well.

Tonight I took my two boys here after a football game so that they could enjoy some of the food that I remembered from my college days. Easy, tasty, cheap. I understand that it was a game day, but we waited for over 30 minutes for a few simple items. I watched people who ordered food after us walk out with their items. The cooks and even the owner himself (I remember him from years ago) grumbled about the fact that we were getting the food to go. “ I don’t know where they’re going!” He said under his breath. It’s a game day weekend, you should expect to be busy and prepare accordingly. I was so disappointed with the service tonight and on top of all of that, we didn’t even have everything that we asked for. When I tried to call back to let them know after we left the restaurant, no one picked up.

Good cheap gyros, souvlaki and more with a good beer selection on tap and bottles. This last time they didn't have tomatoes in the gyro. They need to add that back.

We were going to Souvlaki in the 90's when we were in college and now that our son is going to VT we're going back. It's always been a great no-nonsense restaurant with excellent Greek food like gyros, souvlaki (chicken), falafel and a good selection of subs. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can also buy beer by the bottle. We always enjoy our visit to Souvlaki.

Wow! We went in as a big party 14 people. The staff seemed short handed but handled things like a champ. Order came out quick. Good was enjoyed by all not a single thing was bad. Also had comments of best Gyros, best falafel, and best Taziki they have ever had. I concur this should be a staple stop and a must have when visiting Blacksburg. The baklava and appetizers were spot on too.

Very good offerings at an affordable price. All of our dishes were tasty, the chicken Philly, regular Philly, gyro, and humus pita. And their beer selection offered local, import and domestic flavors.

This place has been nothing but excellent for the 15 years that I have been in the area. Sadly the last trip something was wrong with my Gyros. The tzatziki wasn't right, or they put something completely different on the gyros. I'm leaving the 5 star review because my last experience was unique to my history of eating at Souvlaki.

I went here last fall hoping to get some authentic Greek food, but I was unfortunately disappointed. I ordered the falafel pita wrap which was drenched in some mystery orange dressing. The falafels were decent though I will note. Overall, the price is very convenient for those on a budget or wanting an inexpensive option, so it's worth it for that. Otherwise, there's probably a more authentic Greek and/or Mediterranean place elsewhere.

Souvlaki Blacksburg is the best joint in town. Period. $1.50 for an Old mil. is cheaper than that 6 pack of ciders your girlfriend is drinking, Hah! And it can go without saying, the gyros are frickin phenomenal. They stand in my book, the best in town. Shoutout Mike, Big Bossman.
