Have been to the old location up the road a couple of times and just came into the newer location today. Still love the vibe and I’m sure the food is equally just as amazing!

This is a cute and charming spot with friendly, respectful, and accommodating staff. I have not been during normal business hours yet, but I did attend an event there last night, and it was most pleasant. I will definitely be returning very soon.

Food over priced. Employees took forever for lemonade . And nobody was even in restaurant. Food was dry and Employees look depressed . Atmosphere was nice. Decorating good

The “Very Serious Breakfast Burrito” is the best breakfast burrito of all time. Great coffee too.

My favorite place for breakfast or lunch in Rutland! Delicious homemade food and VEGAN options! The staff are friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is a magical and thoughtfully curated space- I used to live locally. Now I sometimes drive up from Boston just to visit Speakeasy. Coffee is great and the drinks menu is always a delicious rotation of creativity- go get yourself a dirty snowman and thank me later.

Came in for a quick brunch and we instantly feel in love with this place! All 5 of loved the coffees and pastries; the food was spot on nothing to complain about, good portions for what you pay!

This is my favorite coffee shop of all time. The baked goods are lovely and fresh. The biscuits are divine, a secret recipe that's a big home run. I also suggest the sausage patties. The breakfast burrito is delicious. The sausage gravy is hearty and smooth. The eggs are always cooked perfectly. Fun coffee choices as well as the standards. Their special drip coffee blend is wonderful and roasted locally. Also, the owner is a lovely, kind-hearted person, and the staff follows suit. Even when they are as busy as can be, every staff member treats the customers with respect and a smile.

I can't say enough about the Vermont Fog, especially iced in the summer. The new location is perfect with an amazing plant shop next door. Lots of people plugged in and working inside frequently.

Their lattes are very good, but their cleanliness and hygiene is concerning. I watched the owner right behind the counter cleaning her contact lenses and putting them in her eyes. It is gross then to see staff grabbing pastries with no gloves or napkins. Also, a lot of times they sell day old pastries. Full price and fully stale.

The owner was working the counter. I asked a simple question and she proceeded to roll her eyes and make the most horrendous face. I am so disgusted on this service.

Sweet coffee shop with lots of food options. Vegan and vegetarian options as well. A place where everyone knows you by name.

I was visiting for a trip and stumbled upon Speakeasy by recommendation of a friend. The first day I came, I tried the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was delightful. I decided to come back the next day when I was departing Vermont and get another coffee, as well as food. That was a huge mistake! There was at most 4 or 5 people inside when I came in to order, and I ordered 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches. I was not told there would be a wait, and I ended up waiting 45 minutes for the 2 sandwiches and they were made incorrectly. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on an english muffin, they left out the sausage and the egg was made the wrong way. The other sandwich was suppose to just be bacon and cheese on a bagel. There was only half a piece of bacon on it. For waiting 45 minutes, I expected to have my order made correctly and no issues. The least they could have done was make me aware of how long the wait would be prior to ordering.

So cute! Lovely little cafe very reasonably priced even during this economy. Little busy on a sunday am a tad bit slow but not for lack of effort. Very good service and food and lots of coffee!!

I tried Speakeasy’s biscuits and gravy for the first time six months ago and I don’t think I’ve gone more than two weeks without them since. Their Very Serious Burrito is also amazing and one of the more unique and flavorful breakfast items I’ve ever had, and they always have a great rotating cast of interesting cream cheeses and biscuits. I’m moving out of Rutland next month and will SORELY miss the Speakeasy Cafe!!!

Rutland’s best cafe is in a new, clean space with great ambiance. Great coffee offerings for all palates. Excellent breakfast, muffins, biscuits and more prepared by a well organized staff. Don’t forget to stop in whenever you’re in town or everyday if you’re local.

This is the place!!! My friends and I have been here 3 times in the past 2 days. I planned on writing a review already but my boyfriend also insisted I write one. He is a food snob to the max, respectfully, so you know it’s good. He raved about the food and the coffee here. They have vegan options which is always a plus and good latte flavors. The biscuits are to die for. This place is just too cute and everyone is so nice! All I have to say is, this place is the definition of BUSSIN.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! My FAVORITE coffee shop. I go with my Aunt and cousins ALL the time. It is our favorite spot to hang out. The new location is gorgeous and the new staff are great.im glad they were able to hire more people as they are expanding and gaining a lot of traction in town. I’ve enjoyed Speakeasy over the past few years (I lived in Rutland from 2017 to mid 2021). My go-to order is an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a biscuit and a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie (seriously, it’s one of the best cookies I’ve ever had—and I am picky about where cookies should fall on the gooey to crispy spectrum. I tend to not be very adventurous with my coffee orders, but my wife enjoys all sorts of seasonal lattes from Speakeasy (I believe some of her favorites include rosemary). I have grown to really love this place, not just because of their yummy food and coffee, but also because of how they handled the pandemic. They took safety seriously and continued to foster a sense of community in spite of the general disconnectedness of Covid times. My family started a weekly tradition of getting our favorite things from Speakeasy on the weekend during the height of the pandemic because of how careful they were being and we’ve kept this tradition up even as things have opened up and gotten more normal. As much as I enjoy our new mermaid corporate coffee overlords, they lack in personality and variety - where Speakeasy SHINES. We enjoyed this cafe before COVID by spending a few minutes at one of the window tables, drinking delicious mocha or peppermint lattes, every Saturday . Even now with COVID restrictions in place, we order our lattes and sweets online, have them delivered to us curbside, and enjoy the bustle of Rutland from the comfort and safety of our car.
