Yummy food and totally sweet servers. The chicken sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I sure am fussy.

After a weekend of hiking or canyoneering nearby, I can’t wait to stop at Stan’s for a shake and Cajun fries! Stan’s always hits the spot

The food at Stan’s was so good for such a good price. You will get more than you are paying for! The customer service is also great, i left a wallet and keys there and Mario was able to put those in the mail for me so I could get them at my house. He was such a. big help!

Whoever thought getting rid of your tots.... yeah bad idea, been comming here 40 years, stopped at stans instead of blondies across the street, because you had tots. Not no more.

Delicious food, kind and efficient employees. Seriously one of the best burgers in the state. If you are anywhere near Hanksville, stop in for a burger and a shake, you will not be disappointed.

The atmosphere is great. They have fun quotes on the walls. The restaurant is clean. I ordered a Malibu chicken sandwich, which was great. However, they must have not understood my shake order because I received a chocolate cherry shake, not that good, when I really ordered a cherry chocolate chip shake. The parking is great when you are pulling a boat, because there is plenty of space.

This is a great place to stop for some food on the way to, or the way back from Lake Powell. We got Buffalo burgers here and they were great.

As good as it gets. The shakes are great and the burgers are even better. Fries come out piping hot and delish. Would recommend this joint for the hunger traveler. A must on the way to bullfrog

This place is AWESOME! We stop there every time we head to Powell. It's a terrible thing if you don't try the Nutella milk shakes! The burgers are great!!! But the sandwiches are even better!

We were referred to Stan’s and it did not disappoint! We traveled through Hanksville about 10 am and their milkshake machine was ready to go! We had the most amazing milkshakes with so many flavors to choose from!

That was a really good lunch, they have good French fries and burgers were so good. We’d love it ! That’s a nice spot to take a bite.

Good burgers. Excellent shakes and fries. This is the place to go in hanksville. It is way than the other two restaurant options in town. Service was fast even though they were very busy.

We ate here 2 times while in the area. I got the Turkey avocado sandwich and also the Buffalo burger the 2nd time. Both sandwiches were fantastic! Also tried the Butterfinger milkshake. It was so good and creamy. I would definitely recommend this stop while in Hanksville, UT. The convenience store also has a good supply of Yeti products .

Stan's Burger Shak is a hidden gem in the desert! Though remote, it offers amazing food that’s worth the trip. The burgers are juicy and flavorful, and the shakes are deliciously creamy. The friendly service and unique location make dining here a memorable experience.

Needed some late night food in the tiny town of Hanksville. This place is amazing. Giant portions , excellent prices and traditional Utah uberpleasent customer service. I had the bacon burger my wife had the chicken sandwich. She was satisfied but not overjoyed with hers but my burger was A++. When you go to a burger place, order the burger. As soon as we ordered a group of like 30 people whom were on their way back from Lake Powell all piled in so we knew we made the right decision. I will be back. Also it’s part of / attached to a gas station that sells everything from stickers , snacks , tshirts and even has a pegboard full of guns for sale right at the counter. Worth it as a meal or a restroom / gas stop.

Great grill in the middle of nowhere.

I had the Hanksburger on a gluten-free bun. I specified no tomato (allergic). It was added anyway. I took it off but still got sick (not sure if it was the tomato essence or something else). Additionally, the burger was not good. My wife had the garden burger and did not like her selection either. She also had a root beer freeze, which wasn't bad. She got sick as well. Suffice it to say we will not return.

By far the best place to get a burger in Hanksville.

The food is great, but kind of too big even for someone who was really hungry. I had the double cheeseburger after a long week at lake Powell and could barely finish it with the fries, and no drink. The atmosphere was great and if you have a good eye, the decorations are cool and funny.

When you go to Stan’s you need to order the #1 as it comes with a milkshake which is a meal in of itself! The burger is amazing and fries were just fries. If you never have seen a milkshake that stands tall, now you have!

The food here is some of the best we ate on our entire road trip. It's the real deal with good service. Huge menu. Stop here and eat!!!

I was impressed and pleasantly surprised! Stopped here while we drove by as its one of the few food places in this town. Food was great. Portions were big and had a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, wraps and more. They have many sauce options and didnt charge for them! Shake was great. Most importantly it was CHEAP! Less than $40 to feed three and it was more than enough food. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re on this route.

This place used to be really good and I was excited to eat here again on my way to Lake Powell. Unfortunately, the burgers are fries were terrible and nobody in our group finished their burger!

Line moved quickly, food was delicious, and everything in our order was correct. We had bacon cheeseburgers/ regular cheeseburgers and fries. Everything was fresh cooked and not soggy at all. It was a bit crowded but we found a table to sit at to enjoy our food.

Quick stop while touring Utah’s mighty 5. Hanksburger combo hit the spot with a giant “shake” which is pretty much a blizzard with lots of mix in options. Highly recommend!

They stayed open late while we were dealing with some tire troubles. Nothing like a shake, burger and fries to help brighten a situation.

Stopped here for lunch on a very busy day. They were very fast and the food was delirious. The ice cream shake was great! I will be coming back here again whenever I am in the area.

This place was a welcomed treat driving through the town. My friend and I were starving and had been on the road for hours looking for something other than gas station snacks. Burgers were AWESOME and the vibe was super cool. If youre driving through the area give this place a shot, worth the visit!

Update: 11 months later. Disappointed. The burger was dry, the bun was chewy. Only thing saved it was fry sauce. Don't remember a brioche bun. A regular fresh white flour grilled bun would be better. Brioche bun was too chewy and dry. Drove all the way from central Texas for a repeat of last years goodness. Ugh. The milkshake was tasty, but what a mess. What the heck. New owners or management? We love this area but cannot say we will be back for a burger. Very busy place but no excuse to be that far off. The cheese burger I got, Hanksburger with cheese, was the very best burger I have had in decades, besides the Dino Burger in Fredericksburg, Texas. 😁 Doesnt seem like anybody knows how to make a good hamburger anymore. They are quite simple, actually, but all the sorbonne chefs want to turn a simple thing into a 20lb gourmet meal. You cant eat it without a John Deere front loader. You guys did it right. Grilled fresh bun, edible size and proportionate amount of meat/fat. Chopped lettuce, flavorful amount of onion if one wants it...and a distinctive special sauce that says who you are. Yaaaay...Good Job. Perfect 🔟

Nice spot for good food. Ordered the Duke Burger for the fresh jalapeño. Very tasty and cook just right on the grilll. Son had the Hank Burger and was very good. Nice large dining area and connected with gas station so nice big bathroom.

Tasty burgers, awesome wraps, giant shakes (and by shake I mean cups towering with icecream, that you eat with a spoon) decent fries, and epic onion rings. Ate here with a few friends and was not disappointed. The Lobby was huge and they can handle a crowd. Parking is ample even for large vehicles. This is a must try if you are in the area. Funny signs adorn the ceiling and walls.

The nicest burger you can have in the middle of nowhere. Try the house special combo Comes with large strawberry shake. Must stop for weary Traveller's in southern Utah at the end of 95 from Natural bridge s monument .

Good stop for a burger and fries. Quality food and pretty quick. They have different combos that include shakes and drinks. I like the unique menu, but it could be simplified by making it about the burgers and just adding a shake or drink for an added cost. The place was nice but could have been more clean.

Decent burger but little choice besides burgers. Quite a few choices in burgers. It is not a sit-down restaurant, order at the counter and sit at a table. I wouldn't call it fast food though.

The burgers were on point. Take really good ingredients and that's all you need. Everything was simple and perfect. We both had cheeseburgers so I can't say much else about the food. Then we each had a dessert. I had a shake and my husband had a root beer float. They were both amazing. Would go back every time I had the chance.

We stop at Stans on the way home from Bullfrog Lake Powell every time! The food is excellent. The shakes are above the rim!

After a weekend of canyoneering, the burgers are to die for. Objectively, they're some good home style burgers that are pretty big. The shakes are also really good, so get one of those where you get anything else or not.

Love the supportive and inclusive flag that they have hanging on the wall here! What a treat in the middle of Utah! Stan's is my favorite place to stop after a tiring day of hiking or canyoneering around the desert. The shakes are delicious too! And I always get two orders of curly fries. Never disappointed with Stan's!

Food was SO good! Way better than what I expected from a tiny town! They have a huge selection of milkshake flavors as well. Thick-cut fries and a welcoming, homey atmosphere that reflects the family-owned history. The bathrooms are kept clean by the adjoining gas station. Definitely an all-in-one stop you don't want to miss!

I don't write reviews often, but this experience was worthy of one. I ordered a double cheeseburger and a large cajun fry. I initially got a burger with nothing on it, just bun and meat, and curly fries. I went back up, explained to the lady that wasn't what I ordered, and she took it back. She came back out with a double cheeseburger but just two patties and a bun, nothing else on it, and curly fries AGAIN. Still not what I ordered. The burger had virtually no flavor and the fries were mediocre at best. I was anticipating good food after all these great reviews. Coming from Moonscape, I should have driven the extra half hour to Capitol Burger in Torrey, but wanted to try something new, and Hanksville was closer.

I've been there twice now, I'll try to stop there everytime I drive through. The food is very good, the service is good and the atmosphere is good. Plus you can get gas and other supplies in their store.

This is the best burgers around, it's an icon on the area, and if you are a canyoning rat like myself you'll adore the wonderful food they have to offer!

Luckily for them, there isn't anything else close by.

Just stumbled onto this place, initial thought was a little pricy once the order was placed she asked what kind of shake we wanted. Meal came with a shake … not a little shake a huge shake just like the proportions and burger.

I will drive 100s of miles out of my way for their "Duke" burger.

I make sure to stop at Stan’s any time I’m in the area. I usually order the garden burger. Very good veggie burger. Fries are good too and the shakes are thick and delicious.

Make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into before ordering a milkshake. Those things are huge 😂
