Our absolute favorite place to celebrate our anniversary! The food is phenomenal. We love sitting at the bar, the bartenders are always very personable and attentive. Highly recommend. Difficult to get reservations but worth the wait out front before opening :)

The reviews speak for themselves. Try to reserve a table a couple weeks in advanced if you want to eat between 5:30 - 8:00 pm. The food was incredible and it is well worth the hype!

Very disappointed. This is no Chef Volas that everyone compares them to. Their food was just ok and we expected much more.

Awesome restaurant for cocktails, great wine list and incredible menu. The cowboy steak with asparagus and gorgonzola sauce was ridiculously good. The seasonal tomato appetizer was SO good. We absolutely love this place. No wonder it won a James Beard Award.

I expected so much more based on the reviews. It just wasn’t good. Maybe because our reservation was late & the kitchen and staff were just tired? Not sure. The food was okay at best. My fish was good, but my partners meatloaf was cold, flavorless and just bad. The potatoes that came with it were cold & didn’t taste well either. I’m surprised. For the price, I was expecting sooo much more. It’s way overpriced for the food that was delivered. I’d skip here & I don’t think I’d go back.

Every year it’s an absolute must to come here! It's amazing and consistent every time. I’ve been coming here from a young kid to adult and never had a negative experience. Every thing is so good!

This lively restaurant has great food but is super noisy. The uggly tomato salad is a favorite along with the blueberry pie and crab cakes. They used to have a cold seafood platter but it is a la carte now. Avoid the fried shrimp - overcooked and tough. Great cocktails!

At 5:30pm on Saturday Night the 6th. We went to Lamburties and 2 hour wait. Walked across the street to Steve and Cookies. Dining room was full and walked to the bar area there were 2 booths open. Had a great time and happy we went. Everything was just great

Parking is a joke. The parking lot has been replace with an outdoor bar. You are completely on your own to find street packing. It is especially bad since Lamberti’s opened across the street.

Large and extremely busy place that lived up to its reputation. Best Manhattan clam chowder I've ever had, likewise the signature blueberry pie. Everything else shared with several couples was very good or better. A little chaotic getting to our table (and this was on the late side on a Tuesday night! After checking in, we went to order a drink at one of the several bars only to be sternly told by a hostess that the bar seats were reserved! She suggested we wait outside (thankfully it was a cool evening but I would have been pretty angry if was a hot and humid night). Doesn't detract too much from the great food.

First time coming here for my boyfriend and I’s anniversary and it was truly amazing. The food was to die for especially their crispy tuna roll. I got the seafood special they have currently and 10/10. I am a big seafood person and it was amazing. My boyfriend got the strip steak which was wonderful! Such a cute little place in margate and perfect for that summer date night. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be coming back making this one of our new staple date night places

Just got back from a Father’s Day meal and will start with the fact the food was really good. Oysters, salads, and blackened halibut special was spot on. The bus boys and runners were fantastic but something was definitely off with the waitress. Numerous times we heard her cursing loudly near our table. Maybe acceptable at a Denny’s but not for what we paid for our meal. Don’t think we’ll be back in the future because of that.

An absolutely amazing restaurant. It was our first visit and will return again soon. Don’t visit without trying their delicious martinis. Hummus appetizer was excellent and the hamburger was even better. Looking forward to our next visit. Service was also very good. Every employee we met was friendly and courteous.

The restaurant has incredible food and generally the staff is great. Tonight was a bit different. The food was still amazing but we waited 45 minutes for a table in the bar. Why? Because one of the bartenders put his friends above us and held seating for them at an empty bar table that stayed empty for 45 minutes while we waited and until they arrived. Unusual for such a terrific place… just thought the owners should know.

One of THE best restaurants at the Jersey IMO. It’s like every bit is a whole experience. Every single thing I’ve ever eaten. Wow.

Very nice place, even though they don't supply any info on a dress code on the website you might want to wear a collared shirt or more. The food, drinks, and dessert were all excellent.

Dinner was delicious! The halibut with crusted pistachio was the best dish we ordered, the salmon was also good and the pasta with crab and tomato base. The one we didn't love was the duck all the sides were a bit too sweet for my taste.

Meet up with some friends while we were in town. Absolutely fantastic food. Service was excellent. The atmosphere is very cozy yet eloquent. Highly recommend. We had the grilled lamb lolichops and Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Phenomenal. First time I've had Brussel sprouts and actually enjoyed them. I had the veal milanese. Which was also delicious. My wife had Warner's bouillabaisse which was loaded with shrimp, scallops, fish, and clams. Absolutely fantastic. We are very likely to return the next time we are in town.

Have been coming here for many years and has always been terrific. I ordered the pasta with crabmeat and tomatoes. Very disappointing-should have been called tomatoes with pasta and a touch of crab. My bowl was covered in tomatoes. I searched under the pasta for the crabmeat- only a little and for $39 there should have been much more. My friends’ meals, Hal it special and seafood pan roast was great. Yummy brussel sprout appetizer. Dessert, apple crisp with ice cream was ok. Our server was very good.

Fabulous food and service! Loved the crab cakes, Brussels sprouts & butternut squash side. We shared several desserts and they were all wonderful. The blueberry pie was not in season yet but was told it’s the thing to order above all other desserts.

Utterly Fantastic 👍It was My Guy’s Birthday and we were not disappointed. I had the fried lobster and Stan had the fish plate medley. He really wanted the blueberry pie but of course blueberries are not in season We will be back when they are. What a treat 🌈🙏💜🙋‍♀️

Not much to say without echoing every other review. Food is excellent and fairly priced. The atmosphere and service are excellent. We go every year with a large group, and they roll out the red carpet. Awesome steaks and seafood. Lobster was incredible. Drinks flowed. Cozy bar upon entering, love it there.

Steve & Cookies is by far our favorite place to dine. whether we sit at the bar or at a dining table. we can count on a delicious meal and dining experience. One standout dish that I can't stop raving about is their fried lobster tail. It is perfectly cooked to golden perfection, with a crispy exterior giving way to succulent, flavorful lobster meat. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste and texture, making it an instant favorite of mine. What truly sets this place apart, however, is its remarkable staff. Food excellent, service not so much...cute girl Stefany but not so good as a server..our Asian busser was on point,very polite!!!...love the atmosphere on weekdays... haven't seen my bartender for a while..he knows how to make and stir Manhattan! Coming back with family to enjoy delicacy of execution of the food...very unique, precisely seasoned, beautifully prepared and presented -- the best one can hope for in an original cuisine.

I had very high expectations for this place. Upon walking into the restaurant, I was immediately impressed with the ambiance. Although we weren’t seated until 10 minutes after our reservation time, the quick and attentive service made up for it. All of the dishes were great, especially the Brussels sprouts and filet mignon. The bill definitely added up quickly, but it’s nothing more than you would expect of a nice restaurant. Will definitely be back…if I can ever get another reservation!

Ordered a gift card in November for a gift. Never arrived. They don’t pick their phone up ever. Absolutely disgusting service for such a highly touted restaurant.

Everything about this place is amazing. We have eaten here many, many times and are always satisfied. We had the salt bay salts oysters, which is the best I eaten anywhere, lollipop lamb chops and the crispy duck that is absolutely delicious, served with sweet potatoe and cheese gelat and braised red cabbage which were tastier then the main coarse.

Visited here in the Summer. Really lovely place and good service. Had the lamb lollichops and bouillabaisse with lobster tail. All very nice. Will definitely be back next Summer.

Service was excellent , we weren’t seated in the main dining so atmosphere was disappointing. Food wasn’t exceptional this time. Lobster was over cooked and the dish overall was a bit bland. Not my favorite meal this year :(

We were over the moon with our dinner at Steve & Cookies. Their wedge salad was so crisp and flavorful. The pork chop was superb!!! Highly recommend this place.

My sister and my husband and her husband went to Steve and cookies on Sunday November 12 th for dinner first of all they made all of us stand outside till 5 because they didn’t open till then it was 4:45 and cold outside. Then during our dinner my husband started choking on something and it was pretty bad we went through at least 12 napkins during his choking. No one in the place of business came over to see if he was alright not one our server not the hostess no one! The only people that acknowledged him choking were a couple at a table and by the way my brother in law bought their dinner they were so nice. He was choking for quite a while. I think this is disgraceful that not one employee there came over to see if he was ok .we won’t be going there again and I will tell people about this experience. AWEFUL customer service.

Good bar, food was way overpriced for what you get. Granted the seafood is fresh, but not much else going flavor wise.

Very busy place actually packed during the off season, on a Friday night, wow. I felt extremely rushed eating at this place - rushed to the point I had to speak to my waiter. All night a manager with a pad circles the dining areas in a aggressive manner or he overtly stands in the doorway that connects the bar area to the large dining room area eye balling tables the whole night. Our waiter was nice and efficient but giving me a dessert menu while I’m eating my meal and then the check 1/2 way thru my dessert made me feel awful. Our waiter raved about the baked cheese cake. It was very dry. 3/5 others seem to like this place more then I. Place is packed in the off season and they still have to rush ur dining experience. Not nice. Update bout 3 weeks later We went back again on a Friday night. My local buds fav place. Great atmosphere and food. Split pea soup and ugly tomato r a 10 and the seafood pan and meatloaf were excellent. Very good Bread 6$ - 4 pcs. Same waiter Andrew - he hustles! I don’t think he remembered us. 90 minutes is what u r allotted at this great restaurant. After 90 minutes they let u know it’s time to go. At 100 minutes I send the check back with my card and before I sign the receipt with a tip the bill amount dings in my credit card app. These guys do not fool around. Same manager guy endlessly circling with pad. They turn over a table in 10 minutes or less here. Overall doing a great job - just a lill pushy rushy 4 me - top dollar prices gets u a great tasting meal This stated it’s how they operate - still worth a visit if u can get in

Gave Steve and Cookie's a 3 out of 5 because we had high expectations based on the reviews and the difficulty securing a reservation . The dining room feels a bit dated , the specialty cocktails and service were excellent , the wine by bottle a bit pricey . We started with the lobster Mac and cheese and the ugly tomato salad , both apps very good , for entrees we had the halibut which was good and the stuffed pork chop which was dry and a stretch to say it was stuffed , we were looking forward to the blueberry pie for dessert but they had stopped serving that in the fall . We wouldn't travel just to eat here but if we were in the area and could get in , we would return .

Proper dress attire as noted at the entrance should not include baseball hats, hoodies, & blue jeans. Serving these sandwich and fries customers is an affront to your patrons who dress in accordance with a fine dining experience. Sitting amoung these patrons felt like a food court in a mall. As a loyal customer for dozens of years, I won't be returning. Lastly, our oyster and romaine salad had wilted lettuce.

S & C reigns supreme. After a food tour of DC, Annapolis, Rehoboth/Lewes, Avalon, & Margate… S & C is the clear all-around champion. I could eat here every day of the week and would enjoy anything they served me. The cocktails are the best too!

Lives up to the hype. Everything was delicious. Halibut & Crab Imperial were both phenomenal.

I've been coming here for many years and it remains one of my absolute favorite restaurants. Just make sure you leave room for dessert because they're phenomenal! The banana cream pie especially is the best I've ever had.

Let me start by saying, this used to be one of my favorite restaurants. We had a reservation and arrived 15 minutes early, we were greeted by a host and hostess. Upon giving our name the hostess replied "you're early", I understood this and had no problem waiting, but was this the best way to greet your guests? They were very busy and I'm unsure if the vibe here was meant to be casual and hip or cool and sophisticated, either way it comes off as superior and uninviting. We were seated within 5 minutes and our server and the bus help were friendly and efficient, exactly what service should be, kudos for that. Food review: Arugula salad was perfect, house salad was tasty but lettuce was limp. Crab pasta was fair, lots of lump crabmeat, which was great, but the sauce was nothing special, apart from the fresh basil garnish, watery and did not cling to the noodles at all. No fresh parmesan grated for you here, just a jar of pregrated cheese and hot peppers to sprinkle on top; they knew you would need them because they're are no subtle flavors to this dish. Special for the evening, seafood roast which included lobster tail, shrimp, scallops, and lump crab meat on a bed of rice pilaf. Forget subtle flavors, this dish was completely flavorless. They give you a grilled lemon on the plate, to give the dish some color I guess, I used it to squeeze all over the food, partly to give the dish some flavor, as well as to cover the fishy flavor of the lobster tail (fishy tasting lobster is a new one for me). We didn't complain because we realized everything was subpar, so why bother. The place sure was hopping with people, but with this quality of food, it won't be for long. PS- Both the men and women's bathroom were out of paper towels.

Our 1st time and enjoyed. We were seated in the bar area but next time I would try dining room. Live piano music which was nice and my food was exceptional! My martini so good, I had two! Rervations a must are tough so book early!

Excellent all around experience! Atmosphere, service and food were all top notch. Our table had 4 different entrees and everyone raved about their meal. Will definitely come back next time visiting the Jersey shore.

Steve and cookies was always our go to for a fabulous meal and amazing service. Our dining experience tonight was terrible. Our waiter was completely preoccupied with other tables. I was brought he wrong meal which honestly is not a big deal but the waiter barely acknowledged the mistake. When the halibut came out it was completely dried out. Forgot my wine after I sat and watched my husband eat his meal. Then I am almost done my meal and he asks if we need pepper😬. All of the mishaps are not worth the $200 we paid for dinner… for 2 people. Back in the day Steve and cookies was not comparable to any restaurant down the shore but things have definitely changed.. not for the better.

We have always enjoyed dinner at the bar with music …we’re so disappointed with the bartenders… absolutely no personality and almost rude… cookie should be ashamed as she has always made your experience special…

For 20 years my family and I have dined at S&C as the culmination of our family vacation. This will be the first year that we will not be customers. Your reservation system is inefficient and frustrating. I followed all the rules: reserved online 30 days prior to desired dining date at the 9PM time slot( only time available). I left credit card info agreeing to your cancellation policy. I then realized that I needed to make a change in the reservation which I could not do online. No one answers the phone and no one returns phone calls. I give up. You have lost our business. We will dine elsewhere.

Wonderful ambience and amazing food. We waited in line to sit at the bar and had great service. Drinks were creative and yummy and food was incredible. Can't go back: maybe even next week! Get the ugly tomato salad and the farm grown blueberry pie with graham cracker crust. Def a top spot in NJ!

Went for the first time, and it lived up to it's very high expectations that family and friends have set. Clams and linguini was to die for!

This place is outstanding, make sure you go there! My wife and I both got a seafood special which was a lobster tail, crab, scallops, and shrimp. The portions were huge and cooked to perfection. Our friends all got something different and they loved what they had. Service was perfect and at the end so was dessert! Reservations are a must.

This place is like the Hamptons but just outside of Atlantic City. The food is a perfect mix of homemade and upscale beach place. Do try the Oysters, crab cakes, grilled fish, meatloaf and All Of the desserts, especially the Blueberry pie.

It's probably the best thing around, they are very expensive but the food and the service are great. The bar sometimes has a free chair or two but reservations are required for most nights all year long.

They know what they're doing! We are very picky and rest assured, you will not find any better for the quality, value, ambiance and dining experience. Our server, Gabe, and his team (service assistant and food runners were also wonderful) on a Sunday early evening was beyond reproach. We are an LGBT couple and felt completely welcome and well treated which is not always the case. We had the three course menu the food was outstanding from beginning to end. Cocktails were on point and delicious. Hosts were charming. The entire experience was a 10/10. We live 5 minutes away and rarely go out to eat but we'll be back frequently. Thank you so much!

A true NJ shore experience. Truly, an all-around great dining experience.

Everything was simply fantastic. The food is out of this world. Service was a little slow, but I think that's just the style here. The waiter was very good and anticipated our needs quite thoroughly.
