We are on the hunt for a great Chinese restaurant wherever we go. The food was okay. The service was nice.

Sum Yan is delicious, hot, and ready quickly. The orange chicken is my favorite. Although sometimes, the chicken isn't consistent in preparation. It may have been prepared earlier, perhaps. I do enjoy their meals and can count on a pleasant voice welcoming my order over the phone or in the restaurant and service with a smile. Sum Yan has a buffet and family meals.

It was good food and chill atmosphere

My favorite is the foil wrap chicken. And.... everything else. Yum. And my favorite is the Chow Mein Chicken Subgum. OMG. Oh yeah, and my favorite is the spring rolls.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The hot and sour soup is fantastic. I’ve tried several different dishes here and they never disappoint. They don’t use bell peppers for filler which might be my favorite thing about this place. Price have definitely gone up just like everywhere else, but if you’re looking for excellent Chinese, give this place a try.

Food was delicious and plentiful. Prices are very reasonable. Staff was very attentive and super nice.

The kids enjoy the family meal. It was awesome. The service was prompt. Our water glasses were never empty. The customer service was very friendly and the establishment was very clean and smelled good.

Great food! Great price! Just skip the crab puffs there's no crab in the puff.

Today was our first time there I read some good reviews and thought we'd try it . And glad we did it was by far the best Chinese food we have had in a lot of years . I had the Mongolian beef and my wife had a mix of things every thing was FANTASTIC. We let the staff know what we thought of there food and service when we were through had a pleasant conversation with them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Wonderful place really enjoyed the buffet. Also had a birthday party for a seniors 75th there, birthdaygirl said best birthdayever.

This is a really great place to get delicious Chinese food. The server was very nice. The only sad part is that they are not doing buffet style at this time. As they can not seem to get enough help.

The best Chinese restaurant around! My boyfriend is a very picky eater and he loved everything! We had the Lemon Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Fried Rice and Steamed Rice. The portions were great sized and we still have enough food left to last for at least another meal. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere! We will definitely be back!!

I’ve been eating here for several years. I almost always get takeout and eat at home, but the restaurant is very clean and inviting. The food is excellent. I’ve had Chinese food all over the country and this is always the best. Never have I had a bad dish here.

We just spent $70 on what we thought would be decent food based on reviews... You have got to be kidding! First of all, the pot stickers were ok. Nothing to brag about. Egg rolls, meh. Ok. Let's get to the nitty gritty. Hot and sour soup? More like salty soup. There was NO hot or sour in it at all! I took two bites. Dumped it back in the container. Now, the ginger chicken, second bite, dry and chewy. Third and fourth bite, same result. No more for me, thank you. Lemon chicken, ok but not very lemony. Hmm. What else could be wrong? I asked my 8 yr old how her yakisoba and egg rolls were. She said the egg rolls were "alright" but the noodles weren't as good as others she has had. So, I took a bite... smh. Dry AF. Packing it up and taking it back. Hope their customer service is good. We will see. I will update. UPDATE: The woman was pleasant and refunded me. The owner was out of control. He tried shaming me and was rude and raised his voice at me. He said his food was different than what I was used to. He wasn't going to give me a full refund because we ate a third of it. He also said he never got a complaint before and we could ask all his customers eating dinner. I told him the quality was bad and he was upset because I simply did not like his food. I also told him "let's not fight about it and let your customers enjoy their dinner." The woman did the transaction as to which I shut him out and quit talking to him. I thanked her and left. As I am walking out he was STILL yelling at me telling me to leave and I wasn't allowed back. I know men like him. And I stay far away from them! Typical jerk. Honestly, frozen products, too much salt. Do NOT eat here if you have a heart condition.

Love this places I tried something new that I've never ate before and I absolutely will definitely get it again it is so good and it was them Mongolian chicken oh man that was good and the service and the people are so friendly and I ordered it to go so when I got there I asked for a menu it took me a minute to figure out what we wanted order to food and it seemed like it only took 5 or 6 minutes tops and it was done I was ready to go I couldn't believe how fast they got it done what surprises me is that the lady that works there maybe she even answer place I bet I know what you want and she could tell me she rememberd what I ordered the last time I was there would Seth lot considering how many people she must serve while she's on a shift to remember specifically what I had ordered the last time I was there Celtic all that good customer service doesn't even cover it I would recommend this place to anyone likes for a good Chinese restaurant

Always makes us feel like family

It's the only place I go to since I moved to Lebanon 3 years ago. They are so sweet and kind. The service is good and fast for a cook to order place in my opinion. The food itself have a good flavor and they don't shove unnecessary vegetables in it(I have texture problems with certain vegetables especially ones that feel slimy). I recommend this restaurant any chance I get.

We got the combination #9 meal and egg drop soup. The green bean chicken and sweet and sour pork are phenomenal! Their food is never hard on the stomach and the quality, quantity and flavors are consistent every single time. Delivery was extremely fast. At least 10 minutes quicker than the estimation. 10/10!

I haven't eaten here several times with no complaints ,the # 8 is awesome ! Tonight I ordered fried wonton's and have in the past,they were not the same and almost like chewing on small rocks. I still gave them 4 stars but please go back to the old wonton's.

Delicious food every time. Soup is always chock full of ingredients, which other restaurants seem to skimp on. Also, the fried food is light and you can tell it was fried in fresh oil.

The employees are always super nice here and food is delicious! My favorite is the pan fried noodles. We usually order takeout and the food is ready quickly.

Looked At their online menu on their website and got prices on 2 different items... I went to pick order up it was substantially more than what I've seen on their menu they told me that the menu that was online or on their website was at least 10 years old...not to cool..they need to quit robbing people with high prices and update there website

Order was wrong, called the owner to try and straighten it out and have it corrected. Owner refused and I decided to want my order refunded instead because they didn't give what I ordered.

One of my favorites. I really like the fried shrimp.

Price went up which is okay, but quality went way down. Fried rice had trace amount of egg and nothing else. Doubtful that I even got an ounce of meat in the sweet and sour pork. Egg roll had only cabbage and nothing else. Been coming here for many years. I don't plan to come back ever again. Bummer because it's a nice clean restaurant with good service.

I don't know why this place is rated so highly. While the restaurant was pleasant and the service I got was quite good, the food is below run-of-the-mill. In particular: I'm pretty sure that my egg foo yung had been manufactured elsewhere, then frozen, and finally reheated in a microwave. It arrived covered in a weird sauce of dubious origin. Did not finish, cannot recommend, etc.

Little pricey. But food wasn't bad. Will eat there again.

Our first time here, visiting from Salem. We read the reviews which were largely positive. The restaurant is clean and the service was good. We liked the hot and sour soup, which accompanied our entrees. We each ordered something different but both were bland and had frozen peas and carrots in them. The sauce on both was absolutely flavorless. Even after adding hot oil, soy sauce and sesame seeds we were not satisfied. And the fortune cookies had to be years old. :(

Ordered 3 orders of chicken chow mein for myself and sister and brother and 2 large orders of shrimp.. so disappointed to receive chicken chow mein with only sprouts and the rare pieces of chicken. There's usually green onion carrots celery almonds water crests snow peas. All we got was sprouts ??? And I was shorted an order of shrimp. I paid 60+ dollars for a sadly lacking meal. I realize they believe since I'm not in their restaurant they can feed the community Garbage because they'll not see them at the end of the meal. This is not acceptable???? Just because I'm choosing to not eat in your establishment doesn't mean you can save all the " good fixin's' for those who do. I wouldn't eat at this establishment as customer satisfaction apparently depends on whether your seated in their establishment and not in the comfort of your family room.

We had a delicious family dinner here. It's obvious the owners take much pride in their menu. We had excellent service and plenty of leftovers. We will be back.

If you want great food go here. Try number 7 and the dish is great. This place has very good quality food. My wife and I love the food. We get number 7 and it is delicious. The egg flower soup is delicious too. We have not gotten a bad meal from here, they have all been great. Our son and grandson went with us to Sum Yan to eat. They really like the food. We ordered two number 7s, one number 8, and one number 3. We all enjoyed the food and the services. We got take out from here and the food was delicious. We got #7 and #8, it was ready in ten minutes. The food was awesome and delicious. They were open and we got to set inside. We got #7 and #6 in the combo plates We also got egg 🥚 flour soup and BBQ pork My wife had #7 and I had #6 and it was delicious. Had lunch here and we both had #7 and it was delicious. Best Hot and Sour soup anywhere. Great service and amazing crab puff. I work at Mattress World here in Lebanon and definitely recommend going to Sum Yan.

This is usually the go-to place for Chinese takeout. The food tonight (6/6) was so below expectation that we actually called and asked if the restaurant was under new management or ownership, or if they hired a new chef. The pork chow mein had no meat or vegetables, just a leaking wet box of bean sprouts. No celery or water chestnuts, no flavor. The combo special lo mein this time had very little protein mixed in and the noodles looked "held over" from Panda Express and just as greasy. The hot and sour soup was extra salty. Just NOT what we've come to expect from Sum Yan over the years. The person on the phone defended the offering, so now we're afraid to go back. I'm wondering if inflation and supply chain issues are starting to degrade what is offered by the service industry? So very sad.

Owners and staff very responsive to your needs willing to make your time priority. I went during LUNCH BUFFET Good price good selections of chicken and pork. They have social guidelines every other TABLE. Delivery in house dining as well as take out. Wheel chair accessible and video lottery in back of building follow sign that says LOTTERY THRU the door by the kitchen. Good time always feels inviting
