Wow been going to this place for years whenever I am in the Howard County area. It remains fabulous. The menu is so diverse with all kinds of sushi rolls (some cooked as well). The service is beautiful. Great ambiance and delicious food makes this a top choice when in Columbia, Maryland.

Excellent quality sushi and very sweet owners! We’ve been coming to Sushi King for years and the quality is always consistent! The portions are large and the selection is huge! The salmon melts in your mouth and the fish is extremely fresh! The miso soup is awesome with soft tofu too! As a sushi loving family, we always trust Sushi King!

The sushi and sashimi was great. The portions were fabulous. The service was exceptional. Would highly recommend. Would come here more often but we live in Pennsylvania.

A very unassuming restaurant front, I had randomly walked in for a quick bite. I was pleasantly surprised by their staff's hospitality and their "Under the Sea" roll, which was amazing! The best roll under $20 I've ever had, and for that I'm happily giving it 5 stars

Favorite sushi place in the area. Come here as often as possible. I always get the Wonder Roll and the Crispy Roll. Service was a little distant and difficult to get refills. FIL loved the teriyaki salmon.

I came in to pick up and in the short moments waiting for my order, I was met with the most delightfully and hospitable owners/managers. I never feel compelled to write reviews but after politely refusing offers of water while I wait, as the managers checked on me repeatedly they, to my surprise, brought me tea. I had the pleasure of watching them greet each person entering as if it were their first customer of the day despite the high tempo of orders being ushered throughout the busy restaurant. A few, regulars, stopping for longer to talk with them about family. The sushi was of course fantastic. But in the short time I spent in this restaurant, you can tell this place is special.

The staff is very friendly and attentive. I didn’t wait for anything. Highly recommend.

The food is usually pretty good and fresh. They could have more veggie options. They always rush tables out an hour before close.

We booked a private room for our daughter's birthday. The service was excellent (very pleasant). The sushi and sashimi was so tasty. I enjoyed the red bean mochi. They brought an ice cream platter and sang happy birthday too. Also the clientele was very kind and wished our daughter Happy Birthday on the way out as well. Great experience!

Stopped here on a Saturday night for dinner and the place was super busy! Despite being busy, we were sat right away, the service was great, and the food came relatively quickly. They offer a wide variety of sushi rolls and cooked entrees. I had the spicy dragon roll and the warm to the heart roll. Both were pretty good and tasted very fresh. I would definitely come back and try other options.

I've been going here for years and it is hand downs one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to! Food is amazing and fresh, not to mention the friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. We go at least twice a month - that's how good it is.

So many things deserve a try! server and sushi chef are friendly, we sat at the bar last night, the chef kindly introduced the rolls, sushi and sauce. And gave us two fried shrimp for free!😌 Its better to come on weekend night, Fri and SAT are too busy and you may have to wait for some service and food too long. come, I am sure you will like it!

Hands down our favorite sushi restaurant OF ALL TIME! The sushi is so delicious here, the quality of the fish is beyond fresh, and best of all, the service is consistently exceptional. We’re sad we moved to Rockville and are further away from Columbia now but we always try to stop by anytime we’re in the area. Glad to see a local sushi place that’s been around for years, continue to thrive!

Okay, Sushi King is a super cute place with great food! And they're one of the rare places that serves Shrimp Shumai, so I'll definitely be back. They also have these adorable private dining rooms with sliding rice paper doors to make things more intimate for group dining or a quiet evening for 2. Only tiny drawback: I wanted the full experience and wished that they offered those cute geisha shoes for everyone. (Shoes have to be removed to sit in the private dining space.) Other than that, it was AWESOME!

My order had a mistake, when I called and spoke to the owner (Jane), she was extremely apologetic. She personally drove to my house in the snowy weather at night to deliver me a new order!Exceptional customer service!!!

Top notch customer service and the sushi chefs took care of us really quick. Everyone was personable and treated us like friends, not customers. It was sweet to receive a holiday gift at the end! Definitely will be coming back.

I tried this restaurant for the first time about 30 years ago. It is still one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

I love this place. I've only gotten take-out, but the service and the food have always been exceptional.

I’ve been coming here for nearly 14 years and have truly never had a bad experience. The food is delicious, the miso soup is not comparable to anywhere else and the employees are lovely. I’m lucky to have this place just up the street from me because it has to be the sushi and miso soup in Maryland. Try it out, you will not be disappointed at all! 5/5 everytime!

This place is awesome and has a bit of a traditional vibe to it. Sushi bar at the front, sit in tables in between and a bit more private lounges near the entrance. The staff here are incredibly friendly and kind. They truly take care of their customers. That alone shows me this place is well above the average. The Food: Honey Do Roll - This was probably my favorite roll. The sauce is absolutely delicious and everything tasted like quality. Golden Roll - This roll was also very good. Once again there is a hint of quality that's a step above the average Sushi place. Eastern Shore Roll - A unique roll, something I've never had before, wouldn't say it's my favorite but I certainly enjoyed it. Would recommend trying if you were looking to explore something new.

One of the best Sushi spotsins the DMV. Whenever I try another place I am usually disappointed. The quality and freshness of the fish. The care given to each roll. The warm and personable staff. You really can't ask for a better experience. If it's an item that you like from another restaurant you will love it from here.

I’ll definitely returning to to Sushi King, after a long trip I got there an hour before closing, we did not feel rushed as we sat by the take out area till closing. The server was kind, pleasant, friendly and humble! He won us over!

My Grampa has been going to Sushi King for about 30 years now, every Wednesday. For me, it was a special occasion dinner that I was always excited to go to. I have good memories of being a child here and having the easy-to-use chopsticks for kids, and of learning how to use regular chopsticks. I learned to love raw fish here, especially raw salmon. Their food is always amazing, and the service is always so personally fantastic. I love this restaurant.

Absolutely hands down the best sushi in all of the DMV. I love that they are family owned and they treat you like family. They really go above and beyond. We’re seriously addicted to this place. I mean just look at how delicious their sushi is in my photos (yes I took these myself with my iPhone). You must go and you won’t be disappointed.

This place has been around over 35 years and is still a hidden gem. They get to know their customers and build a lot of regular because they will remember you and your whole family. I stick to sushi and every roll Ive gotten has been fresh, well portioned and done with quality. The miso, orange salad and sumai are delicious as well. If you get a tea your cup is never empty. Don't forget your mini gum when the check comes.

I was travelling and picked this place from Google map. This place certainly did not disappoint! 😁The fish was fresh🍱🍣, the food delicious, the whole place clean ✨and beautifully decorated. The restrooms were well stocked with soap and paper. Even the servers were wearing kimonos to look the part. 🪭 The moment a customer leaves both kitchen staff and the servers say “thank you” profusely. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this place.

Had hair in my sushi and the eel sauce was brought to the table and it looked old like it was sitting out. It was cloudy white. They said the pre prepare the sauce in the bowls and it just sits out until someone orders it lol. Ummm. Yuck no fresh pour. They replaced it and took off for the hair in sushi however it turned me way off.

I have been to many sushi places in the Maryland area and this was average at best in terms of quality of food and atmosphere. The service was way below average. The server we had perhaps was having a bad day, she was very annoyed the whole time, impatient and barely came by to check to see if we needed anything. Will not be going back.

Have loved this place for decades. Flat out my 2nd favorite sushi spot in the DMV. And my favorite spot had something to do with this spot years ago. So no wonder. Haha, go get you some great, quality, fun, creative sushi rolls.

I've dibbled & dabbled with sushi before but never as a whole meal. This was the best place for that experience. Everything was delicious. Service was impeccable. They were very attentive & our drinks were never empty. I will definitely eat there again.

Lovely place with efficient, friendly staff and delicious food. The staff seemed very helpful and proactive in checking in with every customer even during lunch rush. The lunch specials were good portions, and the miso soup it comes with was a lot more savory and hearty than most other restaurants. The front and kitchen staff all wore japanese clothing, which was a cool touch. I also glimpsed a tatami room with bench seating. The only thing to note is that the restaurant is rather dim even during peak daytime, so those with sight impairments may need aid in reading the menu.

The sushi is so amazing we are excited to be home soon from SE Asia and come for dinner. Being in Japan (Osaka, Kyoto, and Toyko) makes us appreciate just how good the sushi at Sushi King are is. Fish is very fresh, preparation is always excellent, and price is good.

Sushi King is the sushi KING. This is the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life. The atmosphere, the service, and the incredibly fresh food transports you to nirvana. I don’t think I can ever eat sushi anywhere else again. The takoyaki is an explosion of flavor.

This place is a sanctuary for me. I come here to get my spirits lifted, and that is not an over exaggeration. Also, their miso soup , unagi, tuna belly are the best ones I’ve had, ever.

The food was awesome, but I specifically wanted to comment on the customer service. The customer service at this establishment was impeccable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The owner even noticed that one of my friends was admiring the nice chopsticks at the restaurant. As we were leaving she ran us down outside as we were going to our car and gave us a pair.... Great experience. This is my go to spot from now on.

I've eaten here once and done delivery or takeout multiple times. It's become my favorite local sushi place. Everything I've had here has been delicious, they have hands down the best Gyoza in our area, and the Explosion Roll should not be missed. I was a little hesitant to order the Golden Roll because it's one of the pricier ones, but it is also very good - the sauce makes it! The only complaint that I have, and it's minor is that there's no way to order the hand rolls when you order through Doordash. But I will happily continue to order from here. Added bonus, the owners are so nice and personable.

Everything about this restaurant is perfect. The sushi is incredibly fresh and flavorful, the staff is warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is cozy and calming and their prices are very fair for the quality of the food! This is our favorite sushi restaurant we have ever been to and we highly recommend to anyone!

Made reservations to come for mother's day. We got there 10 minutes early and seated quickly. Ordered different appetizers for the table. I enjoyed the mango shrimp salad. We walked out satisfied with the experience.
