Amazing place, extremely friendly staff & the sushi was authentic.

Amazing sushi, my favorite place, just wish the prices weren’t so expensive. Regardless, I’ll definitely be returning, their freshness and quality is unmatched.

sushi tasted great and presentation was nice, you can tell they put care into their food, had the deluxe sushi combo and a salmon avocado roll, take-out only tho so better to order ahead

Really good (and really fresh) sushi!

The most authentic and scrumptious sushi in Ann Arbor, far yummier than the others . This place is above and beyond in freshness and taste. I had reached a somber plateau in my journeys through sushi restaurants. The place seems family run and they may be Japanese , which doesn’t seem to exist in Ann Arbor. I don’t mean to say that Japanese don’t exist here , I mean sushi spots that are run by Japanese owners seem rare or nonexistent in this town hence the lack of meticulously crafted yummy freshness. Staff are super dooper friendly. Now I regret not ordering more and I will proceed to cry in a soft whimper.

Tiny sushi place with really good sushi! Very, very friendly older couple running the restaurant. Every time I go I feel like I get a little taste of Japanese politeness 😃I recommend the roll with shrimp and pickled carrots

Kind and generous owners (thank you again for the miso soup!~) + delicious food! Great veggie options (possibly the most appealing I’ve seen for sushi) as well as fresh fish. The seaweed salad, miso soup, tuna nigiri, & Veggie Garden roll were all delicious. Will be back!

I LOVE Sushi Town! I got it for the first time a few weeks ago and I was given a free miso soup! They were so kind when they took my order over the phone and the sushi was amazing. I will be eating here whenever I can!

Extremely upset with my last encounter with this place. We have ordered from here SO much for years and have always been able to order some rolls gluten free. All of a sudden when placing an order today they tell us they have never done gluten free rolls. What??? For years we have eaten rolls from here and they have accepted the orders and even separated and written gluten free on the boxes with those rolls, even providing tamari. Beyond bizarre and now has me questioning if they just said they were gluten free but actually weren’t. Dangerous for people with allergies. Very sad to say we won’t be ordering from what used to be our favorite sushi place again.

Best sushi in Ann Arbor. They use good quality fresh fish, and the difference is obvious. They do some fancy stuff too, but for my money, the yardstick of any restaurant is its ability to get the basics right. This place delivers: their simple rolls are a wonderful combination of flavors borne of good ingredients, skillfully assembled. I eat here all the time and haven’t ever been disappointed.

Super cute, modest place. The people who work there are so nice. And the sushi is delicious. Their eel avocado roll and Aladdin rolls stood out, but the rest of the ones we ordered were also delicious. Spent about $72 getting five rolls and two hand rolls, with free edamame and miso soup.

The best Japanese food I’ve had, including going to Japan. The owners remembered me, and remembered my order after years of not having been there highly recommended.

There are plenty of sushi places around closer to home, but Sushi Town is worth the drive to Ann Arbor, even with Art Fair traffic! They have so many tasty options and everything they make just tastes better. My favorites are the Veg Green and Veg Garden, which are excellent vegetarian/vegan options. My partner likes the hand rolls, Boston Ivy, Dynamite, miso soup, edamame, and seaweed salad.

Staff is super friendly and accommodating and the sushi is fresh and delicious! The place is small but it is still clean and has adorable decorations. My sister has loved this place for years and now that I am in the area as well it’s my favorite too!

I am new to the Ann Arbor area and the sushi is delicious. I will be back located right next to Jack’s hardware. One of the easier places to get in and out of a Little off of the downtown area complementary miso soup with your carry out delicious salmon on the beach is a must get

Sushi Town was my first fresh sushi after 2 years of grocery store sushi. There *is* a difference. Fresh is fresh. A is A. My "Ahi with Avocado" was fabulously fantastic. Their miso soup hit the spot... soothingly good! Myself, I added a fresh sliced apple to my extra wasabi and soy sauce blend as a self-made dessert... I let the apple wedges marinate in the wasabi/soy mixture. Try those soaked soy/wasabi apple wedges in the fridge. Served cool and chilled. Bon appetite! Namaste. Merci...

This is my favorite sushi place. I moved out of state a couple years ago and think about this place every time I want to get sushi. It was always so yummy with reasonable prices and I always got free soup or salad. They are such sweet people and miss eating their sushi ❤️

This is an older review (I was a graduate student from 2011-2016), but I was taking a trip down memory lane and had fond memories of this place. It's quality fast food sushi - the staff was great and it was/is Asian-owned as far as I know. Prices were broke student-friendly. My friends and I always called it "Sushi Hardware" instead of it's actual name.

Very good sushi the rice isn't sweet Also I love the brine they use very pleasant UMAI!!!

I've gotten takeout here a number of times and the overall quality is consistently high. I was a little disappointed by my last meal as it seemed the rice was just normal white rice, not sushi rice.

This place is the real deal. Fav sushi in michigan hands down.

I was super excited about this place as they have great reviews. I ordered an Aladdin roll and a special California with added tuna and got food poisoning from it. I’m certain it was from this sushi as I took a few bites and knew it was bad right away. I spent all evening and the next morning puking it back up. When I called to let them know they said “did you eat anything else yesterday, because it wasn’t from our sushi—look at our reviews”. I asked them if they would refund my meal as I’m certain I got food poisoning from it and they said “no, you can’t prove it was from here”. They offered to give me something complimentary when I return, but I can assure you I’m not interested in getting food poisoning a second time.

My favorite Ann Arbor sushi spot for 5 years now. Consistent and the fish is always of high quality. They are always so friendly. Just came back to visit and had to stop by. Happy to see they survived the pandemic as many Ann Arbor spots did not.

Legitimately some of the best sushi I have had and I've had sushi all over the place.

What a great place, super friendly staff. The sushi was super tasty and wasn’t expensive, couldn’t ask for a better deal than that! We will be back! Edit: years later, still miss Sushi Town, really wish we had a place like it where I live now.

Sushi town has great takeout sushi. Their online ordering system was nice because it let us customize the rolls. Their specialty rolls were delicious, their fish is fresh, and their prices are good too!

Service was super friendly, even though we only did online order and pick-up! The fish tasted really fresh and the miso soup was great. When I get sushi I usually enjoy more basic rolls the best, but I think they were a little bland here in comparison to their specialty rolls. Would definitely get again!

Singlehandedly and by far the best restaurant in Ann Arbor. The sushi is some of the best I’ve had, even having moved from SoCal, and the staff is exceptionally kind. A wonderful family-owned business to support that’s worth every penny. I’ve been here dozens upon dozens of times and it never disappoints. My only downside is they’re often closed on random days when I want to order, but since it’s a family-run shop I understand why. Cannot recommend Sushi Town highly enough. If you’re looking for sushi in AA, the search ends here 🙌

Holy cow this place is amazing! 100% our go to in Ann Arbor. Quite the hidden gem. Do not let this places exterior fool you, the food is seriously good. Complimentary miso too! If you want sushi, go here NOW. You won't be disappointed.

No frills cafeteria like vibe with friendly service and good food.

I used to work near sushi town and I would eat there everyday,I got to know the family over the 5 years I’ve known them, I’ve loved them and they treated me the best any restaurant has ever had,I’ve eaten every single thing on there menu (made it a challenge) from the dragon Elle to the Alaskan and Oklahoma and i will always hold this restaurant as my favorite love out to them and this is a must if you love sushi and a great family restaurant that’s built on love and care :)

I can't believe I've never been here before, this has so ruined all other sushi places in Ann Arbor for me just about. It was SO good.

We were accidentally late to pick up our takeout - 15 minutes after they closed, and they still insisted on giving us extra food and the gentleman brought us free waters after we got out to the car. Seriously the best service I have ever had, and the greatest people in general. 🥲

Delicious sushi with fresh ingredients and wonderful service. Made with love and made efficiently. The wait wasn't long at all, and the rolls were beautifully prepared. Even rolls I've had elsewhere tasted infinitely better at Sushi Town. So many delicious vegetarian options as well! If you love sushi, you need to go here.

This is the only sushi I eat in ann arbor. However I refuse to create an account with a 3rd party in order to order food online. As a result I have not had a crab salad appetizer in months. If you can't take my order over the phone then you can't have my money either. Food has been ordered from restaurants without using the internet for hundreds of years. I am very disappointed.

Very good sushi. Ordered on a busy Saturday for pickup and waited outside because of the rain, we were parked pretty far away. They gave us free edamame and a miso soup because of the wait but it was ready when they said it would be. Nice staff.

Good sushi and good prices but nothing that made them exceptional. What was noteworthy about my experience was that they were accommodating when I had trouble placing an order online. They took the order over the phone when their website says online orders only. The other thing I will mention to people picking up their orders is that the parking lot is very small, maybe six spots total.

Well-priced, high quality food & friendly staff! I was a bit depressed on a particularly cloudy day during quarantine and decided to try Sushi Town on a recommendation from a friend a while ago. I got three separate rolls, and all were both prepared beautifully and with attention to detail. They looked gorgeous, tasted delicious, and they even gladly included extra wasabi when I asked :) Definitely my new favorite sushi place in Ann Arbor!

I hardly think anything I have to say about Sushi Town hasn't been said on here before, but: this is a wonderful restaurant! The sushi is delicious and high quality, and there's a big selection of rolls and sushi. And the best part about this place is the service. Ordering online was easy, and the staff over the phone and in person was super super friendly and helpful. They clearly care about the safety of their staff and their customers during the pandemic. Highly recommend.

An absolute gem of Ann Arbor! Despite their small space, I could hardly say they're inconspicuous, looking at the number of great reviews they've had. The food is consistently great, but I don't think that's what makes them special. The staff cares so much about each dish and customer, I can't help but to feel connected. Small details, like the presentation of the food, the friendly phone calls, and the cute smiley faces on the containers. Immediately after placing my order, I got a call notifying me that the order would take a little longer because of the busy schedule. Thank you for making tonight's dinner special!

My Favorite Sushi Restaurant in the Area I've been a regular customer here since they opened ten or more years ago and probably eat here once a month or so, on average. I've never had anything but outstanding service and the sushi is great. For the price, I think it's the best value in the area, by far. You may be able to find sushi that is more gourmet, but nowhere near the price-point of Sushi Town. It's quality sushi at an amazing price and service from folks that are truly kind and grateful people. Sushi Town is always my go-to when I just want great sushi at a great price.

THE definition of amazing hole-in-the-wall restaurant. In a town full of sushi places, this one stands out as being one of the tastiest, no-nonsense places out there. They don't have to impress with crazy visuals or gimmicky rolls - all of their rolls are just masterfully crafted and straight up delicious. For example, their tamago rolls are sooo good. That's literally just egg, rice, and seaweed. AND IT"S AMAZING. By the transitive property, everything else on their menu is also amazing. Oh, and everyone there is super super nice and friendly which is the icing on top, or maybe the masago on top ;) 10/10 would tamaGO again
