Loved the haddock ceviche and the atmosphere!

Tasty sushi, good environment. Had fun.

Coming here for many years during our 2 weeks each year in Maine. As always the food was fabulous…BUT, service was almost nonexistent! We had a reservation for next week which we will be canceling.

We have been loyal clients of this sushi restaurant for years, often bringing along large parties. However, our recent visit was extremely disappointing and has left us reconsidering our future visits. Upon arrival, after a 25’ wait, our party of six was directed to a table meant for four. When we requested to be moved to a more suitable table, we were met with a cold response stating that they always seat six people at that table. We are not difficult clients, there were not enough room to seat us and have enough space for the food. It was evident that there was a mismanagement of reservations, yet no attempt was made to resolve the situation. Instead, we were invited to leave. In conclusion a very letdown experience.

I went for the uni and wasn't disappointed! The shashimi was wonderful as well. The attitude of the servers was very positive and attentive. Food was served at the appropriate times and was at the correct temps. It's a fun place in a reawakening part of Rockland. The summer here will be hopping for sure offering some of the best selection of menus just about anywhere and Suziki is in the middle of the action. Reservations recommended

I went there in a Friday close to 8 pm apparently you need a reservation. I was shocked since there open tables and I was denied service. Who open. A business to turn down customers.? I went next door seafood place awesome food and terrific service.

Several years ago we had a lovely meal here at Suzuki’s and based on my experience of Maine shrimp sushi alone (life affirming) we came back tonight while on holiday. Keiko killed it yet again. This sushi rivals some of the best and freshest we have had in Japan. Got the special salad of the night and the Omakase for two. Housemade ginger ice cream. Everything was spectacular. Especially the fresh uni, and hotate. Thrilled to see them so busy with both dine in and takeout. Be patient, great food takes time, love, and careful preparation. Make a reservation.

Food was fine. I didn’t expect compensation when a fly ended up in my half-full glass of beer, but the server might have at least cleared the glass after witnessing the situation and laughing at the standard joke.

Some of the best sushi& sashimi we’ve had outside of Japan. There were 4 of us, all ordered the omakase platter. It was superb. We misunderstood and thought they didn’t take reservations and were there when they opened. They told us that they were full,we walked away very disappointedly and then one of the staff ran out after us and said that they could fit us in. What a treat! Lovely staff, pleasant atmosphere and excellent food. We’ll be back!

This sushi is to die for. It is the best sushi I have ever eaten in the US, period. It’s definitely pricey and getting a reservation here can be difficult, but it is worth the trouble and cost. If you can’t get a reservation, it’s a little easier to get takeout, but slots do fill up very fast for that as well.

We went here for the first time, because it was very highly recommended to us, and it was an utter disappointment. The food was not that good at all.

I ordered Udon noodle soup with chicken and and my wife ordered ROCKLAND Roll and spicy tuna and it was terrible, also it appeared one of the employees was eating while she was making sushi and also drinking wine. This place came highly recommended and it was a complete disappointment.

This place came highly recommended from the resort we stayed at when we were looking for takeout sushi. The food seemed fresh and made well, but price was a little high for the size of the rolls.

This was hands down the best sushi experience my wife, son, and I have ever had. We are definitely sushi connoisseurs’ and Suzuki’s is bar none, the best all around atmosphere, sushi, and service we’ve ever received. Some of the best sashimi and sushi I’ve ever eaten. We shared a sushi dinner for 4 and everyone loved it all. We ordered the crème brûlée for dessert and found it delicious and different from other brûlée. I can recommend this restaurant without any reservation

My husband and I went out for date night. Our plans were to go elsewhere that evening; however, sushi came to mind for my husband, and he immediately took us to Suzuki's. The restaurant is very small. I do recommend that you call ahead and make reservations. They were able to take us without a reservation since we came before they became busy. I personally do not eat sushi, but my husband love's the sushi they offer. I did notice they have a takeout service, which is pretty convenient. Their food is delicious and packed with so much flavor. We both ordered a miso soup, which was good, but the broth was different than what I am used to, and they add shitake mushrooms to it. We also ordered a side of edamame. I ordered a house salad which was absolutely delicious. My husband and I plowed through that it was bursting with so much flavor. I know my husband ordered one of the specials, which was eel. I think that was his favorite. I'm not sure of the other sushi dish he ordered. My main dish was chicken teriyaki. Although the chicken was a little overcooked, the flavor and combination of vegetables made up for it. There were so many veggies in my dish and a few I've never had let alone heard of before, like a watermelon radish. The house made teriyaki sauce was so delicious. My taste buds were dancing. Don't let the bowl size fool you. I thought it was small initially, but that bowl is deep and packed with so many goodies. There were new veggies surfacing the further you got down in the bowl. One of the best chicken teriyaki dishes I've had despite the chicken being a little on the dry side. We finished our dinner with a delicious chocolate cream cake. That was divine. All in all, this is a place I would definitely go back to with my husband and order the same dish. The service was excellent, and the presentation was perfect. 5 star restaurant in my book. What a wonderful dinner we had last night! Suzuki presents incredibly fresh (much of it locally harvested) sushi etc. in an appealing and intimate spot on Main Street. We started with a flight of sake, one of which was a pearly white and luscious on the tongue. Followed by a smoky and rich miso soup. We shared Omikase, a platter of the chef.’s best and freshest. We were priveleged to be dining during the very short season where Uni is harvested locally, velvety and bring it melted in the mouth. scallop, fluke, and the most luxuriant Toro were among the highlights. A previous reviewer complained that the sushi wasn’t cold- a pathetic and naive comment. Sushi should never be cold. What a marvelous meal that I couldn’t recommend more. Bravo Suzuki!

I have should have listened to my friends living in Rockland when they advised me not to put Suzuki on my 'restaurants to dine at' list. From mediocre tasting and room temperature maki rolls (raw fish!!!) to horrendously slow and arrogant service , all in a tired looking restaurant with uncomfortable furniture and barely any airflow (great during a pandemic!), nothing in the restaurant is remotely appealing. Even the hygiene in the open kitchen is highly questionable, likely the reason why I had an upset stomach in the early morning after dining at Suzuki's. Unimpressive and not recommend by us and local friends.

We ordered takeout from Suzuki's several times in August and September. Each experience was excellent. The sushi is top rate and often with the freshest of local items. The dumplings are always fabulous so we usually order the dumpling special and an omakase assortment. The takeout operation is as smooth as it possibly could be with scheduled pick up times.

Going to Suzuki's is always the highlight of our Maine trip. Even with the virus, you can order Omakase take out and find a bench by the water. There are sushi places then there are SUSHI places such as Suzuki's! And this is one not to be missed! We decided since the night was chilly and since the table next to us had the soups. I decided to have the Udon and my friend had the Donburi bowls. Both were excellent and so much that I we couldn't finish. We started with the herring ceviche which was not only different, but also beyond delicious. My Udon with seafood was so full of different kinds of fish including Scallops, Salmon and others. My friend had the Salmon Ponzu Donburi which was full of Salmon and he loved it. We will definitely be back.

The sushi was amazing, it was all I hoped for in a sushi bar. I especially recommend the soft shell crab roll because it is absolutely perfect. Other than that THE WAITERS AND WAITRESSES SUCKED AND THEY SHOULD BE FIRED THEY ACTED LIKE BABIES AND CRIED WHEN I ORDERED LIKE GORDON RAMSEY. THE KEPT ON TALKING BACK TO ME AND I AM HIGHLY OFFENDED. We had a terrific meal here. Everything was delicious, and the portions were surprisingly generous. We shared a nightly special soup to start with, which came in a portion our server described as 150% of a miso. It had three golf ball sized meatballs made from pork and scallops, and had a lot of slivered vegetables in a agedoshi broth. This was followed by another evening special, tuna dressed with olive oil, tamari and herbs which was outstanding. The omakase is spectacular, and we could not quite finish it. There were large portions of tuna belly and bass, six bits of a tuna roll, uni wrapped in paper thin cucumber, scallop, herring, mackerel and more. Suzuki's use of herbs is creative and tasty. The effect was surprisingly hearty for sushi, rather than delicate, but totally enjoyable. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. We look forward to returning to Suzuki. This was in every respect a terrific dining experience.
