When I first looked inside, I almost turned around and went elsewhere. But I was greeted at the door and allowed my choice of 4 tables. So I sat down and ordered a glass of wine while waiting on my friend to arrive. This place is very small, very limited seating, and not quite empty on this particular Wednesday evening. I am SO GLAD I did not leave! This small, intimate restaurant exceeded my wildest expectations. On paper (well, my computer screen), the menu looked nice enough. But the food was absolutely delicious! I had the salmon and my friend had a NY Strip steak. The presentation of both plates would have pleased Gordon Ramsey. My salmon was scrumptious and my friend said her steak was the best she'd ever eaten. The wine was great, too. All of the staff were very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Other patrons we chatted with, mostly regulars, praised the place as well. We will definitely go back! I highly recommend the Sweet Meadow, and I recommend you go on a week night. :)

First and last visit. I had the mushroom quiche, bacon, and fried potatoes. The quiche was quite good, but the bacon and potatoes were inedible, literally burnt (to be fair, 1 slice of the bacon was mostly edible and a very small amout of the potatoes). It begs the question...Why would a cafe/restaurant actually serve that to a customer when it was visibly and unquestionably burnt? I even took a picture of it and wish there was a place to post it. However, when it was time to pay I calmly brought it to their attention and they offered to replace the bacon only, but I declined. So they adjusted my bill for the bacon and a portion of the potatoes 🤔. I realize this is a small business, but having worked in various Customer Service oriented positions over many years in my career, I found this experience and resolution to the problem quite daunting. At this point, I just let it go. I definitely will not go there again.

The service was good. The food was mediocre at best. Brie was runny like soup with no flavor. Sandwich bread was fresh but portion of meat was lacking. Salad dressing was bland and salad was all lettuce. So disappointed.

We’ve dined @Sweet Meadow many times. Nice selection of drinks, specials and menu items. We’ve dined there for brunch (sooo good!) and celebrated family dinners (great food w/generous portions) and have always appreciated the staff ,owners and atmosphere that comes with dining there! Love this small, eclectic restaurant!

The potatoes and green beans were scrumptious. My pork chop was thick and tasty. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal.

Took a father/daughter day today. Steak sandwich with horseradish was spot on. I could eat horseradish sauce here with a spoon. Tuna tacos looked great. I did not share any of my steak. 😎 Always loved this place. Could have sworn I had done recommendation for Sweet Meadow. Couldn’t find one so here we are. Best food. Never had a bad experience here. Love everything about Sweet Meadow. Zucchini quiche was fantastic. Superior mimosas.

Fantastic service, stocked bar, amazing specials, and comprehensive, delicious menu. A small town can't exist without a charming cafe like Sweet Meadow, and we are so fortunate to have this special place in downtown Salisbury.

Staff is always courteous and food is excellent. Do not overlook the specials. The pimento cheese dip appetizer was superb this weekend. Try the black bean cake appetizer too Blackened salmon with mashed potatoes is always a favorite.

Great Sat evening dinner. Wonderful food and service. Look forward to returning.

This is our favorite place to eat! Concord has nothing to offer, so we were excited to find this diamond in the rough!!

What an amazing, cozy, eclectic, inviting, cool, fun and welcoming place this is! The decor, atmosphere, the plates of food we viewed as we waited to be seated, just the overall first minute of our visit was intoxicating to the senses! The menu -Sunday Brunch, Brunch, and cocktail had so many wonderful options to choose from. We decided on a special Bacon Quiche with Brunch Potatoes and fruit and Eggs Benedict with Brunch Potatoes. Nothing special to drink this visit besides a sweet tea (which was on point) and ice water. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned to perfect. Just the right amount of crispness to the fluffiness of the thicker slices. The quiche was flavorful and filling with the smokey bacon, tang of red onion, and bite of the white cheddar. The Eggs Benedict, with the creamy hollandaise mixed into the runny egg brought out some of the flavor from the Canadian bacon making every bite delectably indulgent. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. We will return on a Sunday to try more brunch items and on a weeknight to try some of the items other reviewers raved about.

The place is super cute. I love the decor. The real winner is the food. It is AMAZING! My husband and I have been a couple of times and it does not disappoint. Everything we've had has been delicious. You have to try the berry baked brie for your appetizer. It's so good! Highly recommend Sweet Meadow Cafe!

The Asparagus appetizer was excellent! Everyone’s food at the table was beautifully presented. The Green Beans with my meal had the best flavor! I got a big kick out of seeing Vintage Casuals Apple Mugs being delivered to another table, as I also have these in my Etsy shop. So nice to see a restaurant using vintage ware!

The atmosphere is what done it for me ❤️. You got the tribe the apple walnut chicken salad and the pesto turkey club sandwich it is to live for!!

I ordered the BLT on toasted sourdough, homefries and side salad. The sandwich came out on fresh, untoasted bread and by the time it came back to the table toasted my friend had finished their meal, and the bacon was cold. It also had a sauce with strong horseradish in it and was not good. The homefries were overcooked, hard, and swimming in grease. The salad dressing was tasteless (house made). Overpriced, not edible. I went home and ate lunch afterwards.

Fun little place for Sunday brunch. Eclectic decorations and a delicious hearty menu. There was a ton of food on our plates and all of it was outstanding. Not your run of the mill brunch. The food was well thought out and worked well together. We will definitely be back.

A nice small restaurant. Reservations not required but recommended, seating is limited. This place has a cozy eclectic atmosphere. Food is very fresh so it does take time to get to you. Prices are about typical for good quality food. Portion sizes for the meal were good. Dessert sizes were small for the price. My husband wasn’t a fan of the very cold pecan pie, but loved his huge pork chop and mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. My steak and sides was delicious as well.

Sweet Meadow Café was a highlight of our one-day visit to Salisbury. Congenial atmosphere, friendly staff and mouthwatering food.

Food was good but I had the days special steak sandwich costing $21. The steak was cooked to perfection but no gristle was removed and every bite had a stipe on each sliced steak pc. Also, they need to dust! They sat us near a wall bookcase with lovely artifacts but covered in dust as well as the shelves. Prices high but can be expected in a small venue. Will no return.

Highly recommend this hidden gem of Salisbury. Great food. Great staff. Great atmosphere.

First time here. Love this place! We had the butternut squash ravioli and the baked brie with berries. Tim was amazing, sweet and very helpful! Looking forward to coming back!

Sweet meadow is one of the best places to eat in Salisbury. Their Sunday brunch, especially the quiche, is hands down the best. The really exceptional part though is the service. When I took my son there, I explained that he has a lot of food allergies and the chef/owner actually came out to talk with me about what he can eat and made him a meal that wasn't on the menu to suit his diet. No one has ever done that and I'll never forget it.

Sweet Meadow Cafe is an eclectic hidden gem in Salisbury. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. They are not overbearing, which is nice because you can relax and enjoy a meal and not rush. The food is delicious. Sunday brunch is my favorite time to visit. I never leave disappointed.

It's been three days, and I am still thinking about the excellent brunch I had at this cafe. I'm genuinely excited to go back and try their dinner menu. The quiche, French toast, omelette, and shrimp and grits were all fantastic. The service was great, and the cafe has a lovely, intimate vibe.

The place has a relaxing atmosphere and friendly workers. We were greeted and immediately seated. It took about 10min to received our order. The was good and portion sizes plenty.

Tried to place a to go order and the woman who answered the phone was short and just generally disinterested in assisting me with my order. Never called a restaurant and had that kind of reaction. Don’t think I’ll be visiting this place. Manners go a long way.

If you need a nice place to eat and talk...this is it. Sandwiches are really yummy and the place is very inviting.

We moved my daughter in to college in Salisbury over the weekend and decided to have lunch at Sweet Meadow Cafe to celebrate our accomplishments. I really loved the decor, it was a great atmosphere, with great service. Sean was our server, who was knowledgeable of the menu and patiently answered all of our questions. I will definitely grab lunch with Sweet Meadow Cafe again when I visit my daughter. Btw, the dill tuna salad was fabulous, on a bed of a variety of greens, and my husband enjoyed his burrito which was huge alongside a hefty bowl of black beans.

Not great AC, but food was 5/5!

Good. Kind people. Food was good tho I felt the black bean burger was a little too soft. A good sear would help. But everything tasted fresh that's why it gets 4 out of 5. We recommend it to anyone!

After reading the other reviews, I knew this Cafe was for me. I love unique chef driven one-of-akind restaurants. Sweet Meadow exceeded expectations and delivered a wonderful dining experience. Don’t miss out on a chance to enjoy a meal here.

We discovered this delightful cafe the last time we went to Salisbury. Located right off Main Street. I had the blackened tuna tacos. Perfectly seared thick pieces of tuna. It’s more of an open face taco and amazing.

Side salad or fruit? You got to be kidding me. These are the sides that come with your meal. Apparently there are zero fryers in the building, just like people. It's a ghost town inside and it's easy to tell why. The food is a quite underwhelming.

Ahi. Tuna. Sandwich. Need I say more? Also a place where the default side dish isn't fries. Outstanding!

Visited historic downtown salisbury for lunch. The service was friendly and efficient and mmmm the chicken walnut salad was the best that I have ever had. Add a cocktail and a perfect solo lunch.

This little hidden gem is a MUST! We absolutely LOVE to support "mom and pop" style restaurants when traveling. This place was so good the first day, we just couldn't pass up going back again!!! The crab dip was amazing and the specials were top notch! It didn't matter we were stuffed, because after how incredible the food was, I wasn't about to pass up dessert! The staff was amazing!!!! Service was on point and the kitchen definitely needs their own show!!! Seriously don't visit this city without stopping here for the best food around! Highly recommend the crab dip, steak, shrimp, chicken bleu salad, salmon, and of course the apple/fig crumble!

The food and drinks are amazing!! But, service is suuuper slow and I have never seen the hostess smile even once. Food is so worth the wait though. I would recommend making reservations in advance.

I'm living in Durham but had to come to Salisbury three times for traffic court. Today was the final time and I decided to get something local. The three ladies at this Cafe were fast, helpful, and unimposing. The spicy beans and rice were simple; the cilantro sauce and sausage were perfect. It seems to be a great place for a quick lunch. Thank you. I can't remember the server's name but they all did a good job.

I was looking for a (hopefully healthy) locally owned restaurant while visiting downtown Salisbury. I really lucked-out when I happened upon this gem of an establishment. Bright and cheery interior (and waitstaff). There is no fryer in this place. Everything is fresh! A pleasant and very satisfying place to eat. Bonus points for being able to spin four Poké-Stops while dining (Pokémon Go, it’s “a thing”). Bonus, bonus points for the elusive 99% Sanitation Grade! This place is definitely worth checking out when visiting the equally quaint-and-hip downtown Salisbury, NC.

Fantastic. We had the Potato Leek Soup, Tomato Basil Soup, and Roasted Red Crab Dip with Naan Points. The flavors were amazing. As good as anything in Charlotte or Winston-Salem. We would definitely go back next time we’re in Salisbury. Delicious cocktails too. Artsy decor; the downtown area is worth exploring for history and culture.

This is an elegant "non-chain" restaurant located off main street in downtown Salisbury, NC. (small business owners) This was my 1st time eating at this restaurant. The menu is fair in price and MP on certain entrees. I had the special of the day "NY Strip Steak (medium rare) Sandwich & Salad" which was Fantastic and plenty of food. The entire wait staff is friendly, helping and not pushy just to get your order. I met one of the owners and she asked if I had room for dessert, I had to pass from being so full. She made me promise I will have dessert first next time I am in the area for business. So next I am here for lunch, I will have Dessert first and then my meal! @Sweetmeadowcafe - Keep on Keeping ON!

Eggs a la Oscar was delish. Crab cakes complete with horseradish over an English muffin that did not break my teeth and topped with hollandaise. I like my eggs burnt (don't judge) and I know that's hard for chefs. Did not meet my level of doneness, but that's reasonable. Two tiny spears of asparagus just made me want more. Potatoes were perfect. Fruit was fresh. The service was delightful and attentive. Will certainly go back.

Twice now I've come in with a group of 15+. Both times, great service, correct orders, drinks refilled, excellent food, yada yada yada. Highly recommend either in a big group or just a couples night out. Sweet Meadow always knocks it out of the park.

As someone who runs a restaurant myself, I don’t get many Sundays off. To celebrate, I threw my two year old in a stroller and headed over to one of my favorite spots in Salisbury. The place is so adorable with all the unique decor, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. I’d hire all of them! And the food.. oh man. I always get my usual, but decided, why not let’s try a special for once as well. Their quiche was literally so freaking good. Even my picky little man loved it. What a wonderful little spot. You guys are killing it!

We wwnt back a second time and asked for our sandwich to be grilled rather than made on "french toast". They REFUSED. So we changed our order to a BLT. For 4 sandwiches with lettuce leavea as a "salad" we paid $65. Never again. Dont waste your time or money.

So good!!! Service was excellent as well!! I had the muffuletta sandwich and a salad. I could probably have drank the tomato bacon vinaigrette it was delicious!!! The muffuletta was on Nan bread and may have been the best I ever had. I 1000% recommended!!!

Stopped in recently for lunch. Decent steak sandwich with a nice horseradish spread! All in all, I was pretty satisfied and would have given another star, but the salad dressing was a little watered down and there was quite a wait for my food. I will try it again though.

First time eating here.. crab cakes were dry..salmon was good. Mashed potatoes that come as a side were bland tasting. This is a tiny restaurant and service was very slow! Drinks were not good. Bartender got an attitude about a drink we didn't like. She refused to take it off bill. Poor, unprofessional customer service! Food was way over priced for what you get. Definitely DO NOT recommend going here!

Decided on this eatery on a whim for lunch and it was a solid choice. There was no wait to be seated and it wasn't as crowded as bar a few doors down. The wait staff kept their cool even as the kitchen was having difficulty getting plates out timely. They were kind and attentive to the guests and did what they could to keep everyone informed. I did see beer in a larger cooler, but I didn't notice any taps which is a tad disappointing. The food was great! I had a turkey pesto club and a side salad with tomato bacon vinaigrette dressing. It was perfect for a light lunch!

Sweet Meadow Cafe is an adorable restaurant in Salisbury with a unique menu and yummy food. But most importantly, they offered to save us when I needed to find somewhere for my almost 30 friends to eat with only one days’ notice! They wonderfully came through for us 😊

The service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. However, the food itself was not great. The po boy shrimp sandwiched was overly salty and the greens in it added a bitter taste. The flavors weren’t harmonized. The Portobello sandwich tasted like it was marinated in vinegar. That’s it. That’s the whole flavor profile of the Portobello. The tomato soup was ok but not fantastic. I was excited to try this place because of all the great reviews but was left disappointed and hungry.

This place like a great concerts kept getting better and better over each course topping it off with incredible deserts. Started with the crab dup with Nann tips good, then dinner I had the thick boneless pork chops with Blueberry and merlot sauce woah delish the flavor and perfect temp.on the pork chop was over the top good, it was served with grilled string beans, fabulous! My wife had the ribeye steak sandwhich also incredibly seasoned and flavorful. The the crescendo was desert with my wife having the apple streudel with vanilla bean ice cream. Perfect blend of light dough, cinnamon and apples but the hero of the night was the bourbon pecan pie. Service was perfect with a very eclectic great vibe atmosphere with perfect background music. Lived up to their reviews I highly reccomend.

This place had an awesome atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food that makes you want to savor every bite!... But don't take my word for it, go give it a try!!! I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Fun location. Class menu. Service was friendly and quick. Had the Oscar Benedict. Well made. The binder for the crab was a bit salty. I would order it again. Also had the Monte Christo. We made. Worth the stop.
