This is a definite stop anytime I'm in the area. Their baked apple fritters are amazing!

Went to listen to a band which was really fun but noticed they had gluten free pizza so I have it a try . It was great. We had a really fun evening dancing and eating and drinking and walking on the river front. We'll new back!

Lots of great treats in a beautiful spot by the river. We enjoyed our apple fritter muffin things. Lots of workers kept things pretty smoothly

They can not make coffee or lotus the pastries are good and so is the pizza just don't order a coffee or lotus

Food is amazing, they have lunches and a full bakery of goodies! Gluten free too! I suggest grabbing your food and sitting outside or walk across the street by the river for total relaxation while you eat!

It was very crowded and the line moved painfully slowly. The pastries looked good but are literally three times the size of normal pastries so unless you have people to share your choices, you'll need to have an enormous appetite. I couldn't do it, so ended up buying nothing. My son got the turkey pesto sandwich and was very disappointed with it, but I didn't try it myself. They do have a gluten free case which is nice!

I ordered a garlic chicken pizza and had them put jalapeños on it and it turned out so good! Best pizza anywhere hands-down. Also, their fruit smoothies are legit! And pretty much everything else they make because it’s all from scratch. I definitely plan on coming back often. — @xplrnw

This really is a great place for bakery items, sandwiches and pizza. Not many places to choose from in Pateros but this place is great. They had a live band in the evening (on a Saturday), and the outdoor seating was great. Fun place!

Much better than going to the tavern next door

We all had a cinnamon roll with extra icing, with a coffee. It was extremely good and really can't wait to visit again.

We expected more baked goods like donuts and breads, but it was more like a little lunch spot. The cinnamon rolls and apple fritter muffins were average.

I had amazing service from Bronte! It was my first time to stop, though I pass by it frequently when I go to visit family in Chelan. The Kitchen Sink Cookie blew my mind. Can't wait to return :D

Great place. Packed to the gills tho and the pasties where really hard but what I ate was fire tho. But place was too small for so many inside but I get it, line em up I guess

This is a small bakery that specializes in pizza, sandwiches, soups salads, bread and pastries. We stopped on our way back from our Lake Chelan boat trip and bought three Greek Salads and two cinnamon rolls to take back to our daughter's home for dinner. We requested extra dressing. They were very good.

Cute bakery. On a sunny day we sat outside at a table with a view of the river. We stopped by on our way through town and had the GF pizza. It's cooked on foil to keep it away from the wheat crust, and comes in a eco friendly box. The toppings were delicious. The crust isnt anything special but I could eat it, very grateful to be able to eat a pizza on 97!

Great place for food and coffee! A little spendy, but well worth it. Seating is outside only now.

You order at the counter inside, and there is ample outdoor seating, both covered and uncovered. There is no indoor seating. Had a spectacular turkey sandwich with a side green salad. As one would hope from the bakery the bread was amazing. They had a full coffee and espresso bar, but I did not sample that offering. They seem to do a very good business, lots of orders being taken. If you’re in a hurry and looking to get food to go, you may want to call ahead. Would definitely stop here again when passing through the area.

This place only gets better! Band on Friday night sounded great. Cinnamon rolls from the bakery kept everyone happy.

First we stopped by this place on the way to our cabin to get our whole family sandwiches. We got a breakfast sandwich, a chicken salad sandwich, the turkey pesto and a made to order ham, cheddar sandwich. The breakfast sandwich was made well and my father woofed it down. The turkey pesto was good and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The ham and cheddar was made exactly to order. The chicken salad was really, really good!! Everything was fresh and tasty. They are large sandwiches so be aware of that my mother and grandmother split one. They are a little pricey but worth it in my opinion. The employees were polite and professional. Then we stopped by to get coffee on the way home. We got the "Blue star" drip coffee it was really really good! We also got a "twist" donut and that thing was super delicious!! It was frosted and messy and incredible!

Astoundingly good baked goods! Eye popping bread loafs. A little treat called Maple French Toast that should be illegal!

It was cute. The outside was well maintained. I never had the pleasure of going inside and ordering. Although the people eating outside looked pretty satisfied

I popped in briefly around 9 am on a Saturday morning while passing through town, and while busy for the small space, it was not a long wait. The bakery smelled wonderful, their menu looked great l, and I picked up a couple pastries. The back patio seating was lovely--facing the river and cool on a grass lawn with good shade from the awning and trees. I opened for public seating out front so my dog could join me. The pastry was flaky and delicious, the store was lovely with a little selection of local coffee beans, wines, and merch, and there is ample parking and clear signage.

Sweet River Bakery was a stop on the Pacific Northwest Grand Tour, a summer long motorcycle tour that takes you to some spectacular locations. I had a Chai Tea that was excellent... truly one of the best I've had. No seating inside, but tables and chairs in front and out back. A beautiful location for taking a moment and relaxing. Recommended!

Coffee very weak. We had to go get coffee after bc it was so bad. Food was okay. Happy they had veg options though. Pastry I had was very good.

You have to microwave anything if you want it served warm.

Unfortunately employees at the establishment are extremely rude!! We came from out of town to visit friends, we spent $200+ and they seemed extremely put out we were even here.

The service here can be awful on the weekends.

I live on the coast and sweet river is always a nice stop for a pastry, coffee, and pottybreak on my way through.

It was a Friday so I get that they had a lot of orders. I waited an hour when I was told 30 minutes. The pizza was shaped poorly, cut poorly and folded over to fit in the box. 2/16/24 630pm.

I just stopped in for a croissant they said it was fresh it was so hard when I asked them if they could give me something fresher they said nope you already bought it

Tried their eggs and sausage breakfast squares, not as good as I'd hoped. Sausage was tough to chew. Apple fritters was more like apple crumb/muffin than fritter.

Favorite bakery from the Canadian border to Leavenworth. Get the pizza and a cinnamon roll. Don't pass up the chi tea

This place made me so happy I got a beautiful sandwich in the breakfast department. I also had a drink and that was quite tasty as well ample parking for my motorhome while pulling a trailer I stopped in there. It wasn’t that busy and then 50 people showed up and I was like thank God I came first the service was fast I sat outside. It was a beautiful day something I’ll never forget.

Stopped here for lunch ordering the Garlic Chicken pizza. It was absolutely delicious. Also got one of their cinnamon rolls to eat for breakfast the next day. Fantastic!

The bathroom was dirty, staff was unfriendly, food mediocre. Nothing to write home about paninis. No kids menu. No boosters or high chairs. Asked for no onions, got them anyways. And have my email address mysteriously attained by the restaurant. Great location though.

Good people, but the quality and consistency of their foods has decreased significantly over the past year and a half.

During high school in the 90s in Lake Chelan, I worked summer jobs at restaurants. I understand what it can be like to serve hungry and often unhappy tourists. As a local, I have stopped here about once a year for the past 12 years. Some times the customer service is great, other times so-so. I still stop in thinking "this time" will make up for the previous so-so time. The prime location of this business and lack of other eateries ensures this place will not be at a loss if I am no longer a customer there. Taking down the plastic partition would be a improvement. I have a quiet voice and when I need to raise it, it sounds like I'm mad when I'm not mad at all. I asked for pizza and was informed it isn't served until after 1PM. It was 1:20 and the reason given was bread was being baked. That's totally OK... however, the cashier seemed to find humor in my disappointment. I don't stop in enough to keep up on any menu changes. Right now, I cannot get the Menu to open on the website to confirm if I was way out of the time zone to order pizza or not. Perhaps she couldn't hear me well over the partition, but an apologetic smile would put a customer at ease instead of a pressured glare. I concur with other reviews that it does feel like the vibe of the staff is an -unhappy that you are even walking into the place- type of vibe. With the amount of customers that the owner mentioned comes through (300+), I understand treating each person as an individual might become tiresome for some especially in August when you have seen too many new faces to count. With this casher, I felt rushed to decide on something else, even though there were no other customers waiting behind us. A "take your time" comment would have gone a long way. If there was a sign that said no pizza until a certain time, I couldn't see this because again, the pressured glare in addition to the cluttered appearance of the counter. I originally wanted to order a cinnamon roll to go, but decided against it due to the pressure. Having just had a mediocre cinnamon roll at another bakery in another town, the Sweet River roll looked amazing in the case compared to that one. I paid with cash and exact cents. The cashier didn't offer a tip-worthy experience, but I placed quarters I had into the tip jar for the staff making our order. What was extremely odd and is the main the reason I am taking the time to write this review was: the cashier immediately pulled the tip jar back, loudly opened it, and started to count out what all was in there? I thought this to be extremely poor timing as I just placed coins in there... Not sure if this is some weird way businesses nowadays calculate tips for staff, but back in the day, we didn't open and divide it in front of customers. Also, not sure if she expected the dollars in change she gave back to me versus the coins. It's unfair to both of us to even try to guess why she did that. I slowly walked away and quietly waited for our food which arrived quickly because, again, no one else was waiting. The sandwiches were great; the bread was fresh. Would have loved to enjoy the meal better and have no regrets spending my own hard earned money there. One star for the food we ate and one star for the cinnamon roll that looked amazing but didn't feel was a good time to bother the cashier with. Will probably keep driving past next time.

This place was a nice little surprise. Driving through Pateros with the family and needed a place to eat. Not much in that area and stopped here not really expecting anything special. Plenty on the menu and our food was really tasty. It's a bakery so the bread for our sandwiches was awesome. They also have a nice variety of sweet stuff too. I definitely got the feeling while there that it's a place that people frequent. Definitely recommend.

I'm not sure what went wrong with this bakery over the last year, but the quality has dropped significantly. The pizza here was phenomenal and consistent, but the last two times I've ordered I have received haphazardly cut pizzas with very light sprinkling of toppings. Just last night I had ordered the Greek pizza, and received a large cheese pizza with a few olives, tomato slices, and maybe a quarter handful of feta spread about. I was charged for bacon to be added but received none. I don't like paying money for product I don't receive. The last time I go. Hometown in Twisp is great and local, though a bit of a drive away.

It looks good on paper. Unfortunately while they "make to order" they can't (read didn't) accomodate dairy allergies. Stay away if you have food sensitivities. Edit: it wasn't so much that much of the food had dairy, but that there was no attempt whatsoever to be accommodating. Also, don't be rude to my wife. #dontberudetomywife

Consistently disappointed. I live in Northern Okanogan and travel frequently for work. I have stopped here many times over the years, and am consistently disappointed. I keep hoping the food quality will improve. The filled croissants have scant amount of filling, usually about one small bite worth. The “giant” breakfast burrito was not much bigger than “Annie’s” frozen burrito. Very plain with American cheese, not “cheddar” and no hash browns…not at all like the menu described. And for $10. The menu looks great, even with a “please be patient, everything is homemade” sign, but it seems only the bread and pastries are homemade. It’s a typical “cut corners” type of place where the owners don’t appear to have any pride in what they are serving. The bathroom is exactly the same very dirty that I have seen for years. Just a quick swipe on the seat every night type of cleaning. I also keep hoping Blue Star will have a deeper more accurate roast for their Espresso drinks. But, it is a typical American version of espresso, light and mild, not at all what espresso is supposed to be. Not a very good cup of coffee. I hope the owners read my review and take it to heart. We all work hard for our money, so I ask you to please work on your food quality so it matches your menu presentation and to improve your store cleanliness.

Don't go without getting either a cinnamon roll or twist! We really enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches. Recommend the Veggie breakfast sandwich.

Quick stop to eat if you're driving by the area. Great food options. Deli sandwiches, personal pizzas, and a bunch of sweet treats all freshly made. Not a lot of space inside but a large back courtyard with lots of shaded seating. Water stations both inside and outside.

I really love sweet river bakery, and we've been there many times over the yrs. I do wish they'd not done away with their indoor seating. Not sure why they changed that? And, their kitchen sink cookies aren't as good as they were pre-covid. Maybe they have new bakers? I don't point that out to hurt their business, but on the contrary, hope to help. They have delicious food. And I wish them continued success in the yrs to come!

Someone recommended this bakery in the middle of nowhere. Glad we stopped by & loaded up on Abbie's local honey, ham & cheddar croissant, berry smoothie, & some amazing brick oven pizza. Lots of choices, including fully loaded breakfast burrito, sammies, & salads. Eat outside or out front. Open till 7 pm, which is unheard of for a bakery. So worth the 25-mile drive from Chelan.

A cool oasis on a hot road. Stopped by for iced coffee, freshly baked apple turnover and a sandwich. Thr back grassy courtyard is perfect to.stretch your legs with a view of the lake. Your dog and children will thank you!!

Bought two cinnamon rolls frosted,they were undercooked and felt like pound cake the worst I have tried. Guess they need so help. Call me.

Spent $25 on 2 breakfast burritos and a drip coffee, and they unwrapped pre made burritos and re heated them. Mediocre at best, leaving super disappointed.

If you're driving by it's worth stopping and trying the apple fritter cup (warmed up). Decent coffee, too. There was no place to sit, but in summer it looks like they have outdoor seating.

Bought brownies and pnut butter cookies. When we got in the car with them the car was permeated with a burnt smell. The cookies were hard and crumbly. Not worth stopping

This has always been a MUST stop when passing through Pateros. Their Savory Croissants are AMAZING! So good! Highly recommend stopping by this fine establishment!

Going home on a late Sunday afternoon we stopped by to get coffee in the middle of our 4 hour drive and this place was pretty amazing. Even at 6 pm the coffee was made with a smile, jokes and friendly conversation. I believe the owner made my coffee and helped me pick out a few different snacks that he had made recently. He was friendly and told us about the concerts they have on Friday nights throughout the summer. We will definitely try to check it out if we are in the area and I do recommend the coffee and food.

Really cool spot on the lake. All the baked goods looked absolutely beautiful. I had a big, delicious cinnamon roll and my wife had a vegetarian egg bake and it was delicious 😋 can't wait to try some other items. They also have a great variety of Sweet River Bakery logo items. Highly recommended.
