Our evening out at Swiss Chalet was amazing. The food was superb. We loved everything about the fondue. Our server Sigi was phenomenal. Her knowledge of the menu was so helpful. She definitely steered us in the right direction since this was our first time to dine there. She made our dining experience one we will never forget. Such a pleasant change from the usual dining atmosphere and menu. We all enjoyed the unique menu and drinks. The Perfect Pair Martini was wonderful. We recommend completing the night with the dessert fondue and an Espresso Martini. Thank you Swiss Chalet and Sigi for a perfect evening with friends and family.

Sigi, the waitress is amazing and wonderful, and a beautiful bavarian accent.

Sigi is an absolute gem of a human. To be clear, the Swiss Chalet is always going to be an excellent experience, however having an amazing server will absolutely rocket you to the moon. Her recommendations, her personality, her attention to detail… she MADE this place truly special and not just a wonderful meal in a beautiful location. Didn’t stay at the hotel so cannot comment there!

Sigi was our waitress and she is awesome. We ordered beef fondue and cheese fodue ,it was outstanding. Also the schnapps is the best i have ever had.

We love to come here for the authentic imported fondue and amazing, cozy atmosphere. Sigi was amazing with great recommendations. You definitely feel like you’re sitting in Switzerland when you visit this restaurant.

This spot is great for fondue and classic Swiss food and the service was amazing!! The food has amazing flavor and the cocktails and mocktails are also quite tasty. Sigi was also amazing. She is super friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely dinner here for my birthday. They sat us at the most adorable table for two by the window. Javier helped us out and he was awesome! Very friendly and he said happy birthday before he introduced himself! lol We had onion soup (spectacular) and cheese fondue with added sausages and beef medallions. Husband loved the sausages and we both thought the beef was terrific. He enjoyed the bread and I enjoyed a potato. The rest of the veg wasn’t cooked enough for my liking. The pretzel bread is out of this world especially if you eat it while it’s hot. We also found the fondue to be… well it’s hard to explain but it has a bitter kind of taste that we didn’t enjoy. It was a cool experience but we prob’ly wouldn’t fondue again. We had fondue in Switzerland a couple years ago and didn’t really enjoy it as the cheese wasn’t hot so it was a little tough to dip😄but maybe fondue just isn’t for us. We declined dessert but Javier brought out chocolate covered strawberries with a little birthday candle in one! So sweet! I was so completely stuffed and chocolate is not really my thing but I tasted one. Hubby enjoyed the others. All in all this was a fantastic experience.

Super good food and very good atmosphere and incredible service from Sigi. I highly recommend the cheese fondue, it is the best!!!!! For dessert I recommend the dark chocolate one or the hazelnut one (it tastes like Nutella). The portions are sufficient and very good flavor

It was out first time dining here and it was absolutely wonderful! We had cheese fondue, a meat platter, a delicious salad, and a chocolate and fruit fondue! Very stuffed but so happy with our meal! Our waitress, Sigi, was a delight and we went with her recommendations that didn’t disappoint! We will be back for sure!

My husband and I ate here for dinner while visiting during the summer. Our server Sigi, was very helpful at making menu recommendations and catering to our every need. The food was excellent and was exactly what we would have expected at a Swiss Chalet, had we been in Europe. I can imagine dining here in the winter after a cold day of skiing is an even more memorable experience!

Swiss Chalet was such a fun experience. This was our first time dining here and it did not disappoint. Our server, Sigi, gave us many recommendations and we took each one! The French Onion Soup was incredible. I’m already looking forward to returning just for the soup. It’s a must! We split the summer salad and the vinaigrette it had on it was delicious. Ask for an extra side of it. The cheese fondue was delicious and just the right amount for 2 people. We can’t wait to come back next time we are in Vail!

It was a lot of fun. Unique and pretty tasty. They bring you a little stove to cook Raclette and Tebderloin and veggies on.

Everything is fine, I only noticed that the service was different with the Americans than with the Latinos, even though we know that the minimum tip is 20%, but they should be excited because Mexicans consume very well $$$

Every time we come to Vail, we always eat at the Swiss chalet restaurant it’s a favor. And we always have a wonderful waitress named Sigi. Sigi brings Authenticity to the whole experience. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. Highly recommend to anybody visiting Vail.

Dear foodies, we have come to Vail for a long time, and finally got to eat here…I felt we stepped into Switzerland…the place has so much charm, the staff are dressed in traditional clothes, and are actually from there. Our server was fantastic, she made us feel we were visiting her home. She was so excited to explain the menu, and had fantastic recommendations…we started with the delicious hibiscus mocktails (expensive, but delicious) and had the wedge salad…it was enough to share with my main man…the complimentary bread was pretzel mixed, which was so good we asked for another basket…then we got the meat that you cook yourself…the quality was perfect, and it comes with so many veggies. We finished it off with the chocolate fondue…was so good we wanted to drink the chocolate. I’m so happy we finally got to check it off the list of restaurants to try in Vail.

2nd time here. First time in 5 years and it's still fantastic! Great fondue, great service, great wine selection and out of this world Swiss onion soup! I definitely recommend the roulette fondue

the restaurant is nice, the staff is nice but the food...super expensive and low quality for what you get, if you expect to eat some raclette cheese like in Europe you will be very disappointed with not even 3 pieces of cheese per people and its not an appetizer!! All the veggies are raw and you have to cook them yourself usually it's not a problem but at that price yes. We didnt want to make a drama but we will never come back.

The food here was good as per usual, but this review seemed almost necessary to thank Sigi for her amazing service. She was very kind and oriented us with portions and some incredible German recommendations. Thanks for being an honest waitress and making this an enjoyable experience.

We make fondue at the Swiss Chalet part of our annual Vail ski vacation every year. We go with friends right after skiing and look forward to it all year. Sigi was our server and she was knowledgeable and authentic. The fondue was great, kids love the do it yourself atmosphere. The hazelnut chocolate fondue at the end was to die for. See you next year!

Delicious Swiss restaurant in vail. We had fondue bourguignonne and it was super good. Portions of meat are a bit small but they come with a lot of vegetables as sides. The staff was super kind and helpful and we had a nice time. Definitely recommended ⭐️

If I could give this place six stars I would! Warm and friendly atmosphere and excellent food. Sigi is one of the hardest working servers around. Kudos to the kitchen and hostess staff too!

Started off great then went without a waiter for at least 20 minutes. Had to go to the bar to pay my tab. Not one person apologized or showed concern . Manager was listening didn’t even look in my direction . Could have all been solved with a simple apology.

Sigi was our server this evening and she made our experience authentic and enjoyable. She recommended every dish we ordered and the food was fantastic. We dined with our 4 year old at 630 and I highly recommend this restaurant for family dining.

Quick recommendation: way less corn starch in the cheese fondue would make it good, right now its barely average

The Swiss Chalet is another one of our favorite restaurants in Vail located in the Sonnenalp. We have eaten here over a half dozen times, along with Ludwig's also located in the hotel. These are two of the best restaurants in Vail. You can't go wrong with the Swiss Chalet for the fondue!

Absolutely horrendous reception.

The food is high quality and really tasty, I loved everything we ordered there. The service was great and the spot felt really cozy. It is a little small for big parties tho, so keep that in mind and I would recommend making a reservation in advance.

Unfortunately, we encountered some disappointing issues with the service. The hostess, Sara, and the manager, Cosme Canun, provided poor customer service. Despite having a reservation, they were unwilling to make accommodations for an additional person in our party. What was particularly frustrating was the lack of flexibility, especially when there were visibly empty tables and no attempt to find a resolution. We felt that our treatment was unfair and unwelcoming due to our Mexican heritage. However, it's important to note that the only bright spot in our experience was the amazing treatment we received from Martin, the bartender, who made our time here memorable. I hope that the owners takes this feedback seriously and works towards creating a more inclusive and accommodating environment for all customers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this restaurant. Got the cheese fondue with a few extras and it was plenty to eat. But we managed to order the chocolate fondue too! Also, service was perfect.

Extremely noisy. It detracted from the ambiance and food. I would only eat there again if there was a table where we could talk in a normal voice.

I felt like I was in the Swiss Alps with Disney-esque theming that was almost a bit over the top. You get a nice whiff of cheese as you walk into the restaurant. It felt cozy, comforting, and warm. Our waitress was very nice, patient, and timely. Weinberg Schnecken: Probably the best tasting dish, they were warm and flavorful with herbs and butter. Zwiebelsuppe: The onion soup tasted like you’d expect, very typical. Raclette Fondue: Maybe it’s just me, but was very mid. Been to another fondue place and had similar thoughts, so maybe I’m not a big fondue guy. The veggies to dip were the best dipping side, but there was very little given. A ton of bread came on the side. Side Sausages: Very very small portion, which just tasted like a hot dog. Overall, the food was mid, but a fondue experience might be worthwhile.

It was an overrated restaurant. The smell was horrible once we get there. The quality of food was average nothing special.

We enjoyed the interactive dining experience at The Swiss Chalet. Two of us shared the raclette fondue along with a lovely bottle of Chateau Lyonnat Lussac St Emilion 2016. The fondue was the very reason we chose to dine at The Swiss Chalet and it did not disappoint. For dessert we shared the dark chocolate fondue along with fruit and a few bites of cake for dipping. It was delicious. Our waiter, Jackson, was excellent. He offered us guidance with the menu and was attentive throughout. The restaurant was very busy. Reservations are a must.

We had a wonderful evening at the Swiss Chalet. The ambience was perfect and the hospitality was warm and friendly. Our server, Sigi was very hospitable and made spot-on recommendations for each course of our meal. We especially loved the dessert fondue! Again, such amazing service - we would definitely go again.

Great if you’re going for the vegetables rather than the cheese/meat portions that come with the fondue and raclette, which was certainly not our case. Our waiter was very nice and professional and we have no complaints. However, the people at the front desk were creating a lot of unnecessary issues because we had a stroller which we needed to keep us for the baby to sleep. No flexibility or willingness to help us, which almost made us leave right away. In general, not the experience we were expecting for such a highly rated restaurant and being guests of the Sonnealp hotel.

The food and service were fantastic! I wish the host would have explained we had full access to the menu at the bar as there were no bar customers and we were waiting for over an hour for a table. It also seems as though there were tables empty for a considerable amount of time while reservations waited. If there us a strategy for not overloading the kitchen, that's valid, but could be explained better.

Everything was really nice since the moment we walked into the restaurant we got great service and good attention. Food was very high quality and drinks were nice too!

Just a wonderful meal all the way around with great food, great wine, wonderful ambience (except for the really loud, kind of drunk, non-English speaking table next to us who left halfway through our meal, thank goodness!), and the service was impeccable! Wow. I can’t believe this is a 4 star restaurant. To start off as soon as you walk in the place stinks! If you get past that, which we did since this is a cheese place, get ready for a horrible experience. We ordered the escargot, great presentation but bland and dry. The meat carpaccio was ok. Then we ordered fondo which said it came with vegetables. Well let me tell you. We had to split the 1 pieces of asparagus 1 piece of broccoli, 1 carrot, and 3 potato’s between two. We order steak which was very tender but for $80 for fried cheese, I expected better. This is by far the worst dinning experience in Vail.

We have been coming here for years and never miss a chance to get the raclette matterhorn… ever. A trip to Vail is incomplete without a visit to Swiss Chalet. And most recently we had Sigi as our server and she was wonderful!! ❤️

I can’t say enough about how great the food and service was! It was my boyfriend’s first time cooking fondue style and they were amazing at explaining everything to him and recommending dinner options! I can’t remember the servers name but she was from Hartford and was amazing!

everything was lovely. the appetizers and the wine were fantastic. We chose the more basic fondue which.wasnt our favorite but we did ignore the servers advise to get the one with more flavors. Over all the perfect Vail winter dinner. Derive was second to none.

Thought would be a charming place with good fondue and more couples than kids screaming all night…. Poor food, EXTREMELY NOISY and the waitress forgot about us many times during the night. The bill was almost $300 for this! Very disappointed!Not going back!!

We decided to order non fondue. The schnitzel was perfect. My husband ordered the pepper steak and cleaned his entire plate. We wanted to have chocolate fondue for dessert, but opted for the apple strudel which was delish. Excellent service and 5 star wine menu!

Salad lettuce was limp. Chicken piccata was ok but nothing special. Service good.

We enjoy fondue at Swiss Chalet each time we stay in Vail during ski season. After a full day on the mountain we feel like we’ve earned a decadent meal. The cheese fondue is delicious. The chocolate fondue is also amazing. We usually choose one or the other per visit. The atmosphere is unique and the customer service is excellent. On our most recent visit, our server Denni encouraged us to try the steak tartare and it was great. We’ll be back again soon.

The food was DELICIOUS! We got the Matterhorn raclette and it was awesome and interactive, and the piccata which was delicious too! The atmosphere is super cute and very Swiss. The service was a little um confused sometimes but Sigi, our waitress, was super on top of it and really great.

This was a fun experience! Even as a person who doesn’t eat cheese, the oil fondue to fry steak and veggies at the table was tasty and fun. Great wine selection by the sommelier. Good service.

We were so looking forward to this dinner. We come to Swiss chalet every time we are in Vail. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with this experience. We always order cheese fondue - which is the focus of our meal. Loved that they had the add ons. Simple proteins without ordering another huge entree. All of those were excellent. The cheese fondue was ok - not the best, not the worst. However, the bread was borderline stale especially as you got further in the basket. Some of the pieces were hard enough to chip a tooth. We would have told our waitress but she never came back. We wasted about a 1/3 of our fondue given that we had nothing to eat it with. By the time she did come back we were ready to go. I’ve loved this restaurant for many years and was sad to see the decline. Maybe an off night?

What an amazing experience! Swiss decor is really special and the staff are professionally and kind. The cheese fondue is on the pricy side, but easily feeds 4 people even though the menu says serving side is for 2.

Absolutely spectacular meal 🫕- the wine 🍷 list was very expansive and included some wonderful old world gems. As great as the meal was, our server May was the highlight of the evening.
