Junk food poor service i have ever had in New Jersey we came all the way from albany unfortunately we had the worst food ever, in BERYANI THERE WAS A LEFTOVER BONES FROM OTHERS FOODS NEVER GO THERE

Very good food options. We tried haleem, keema roti, briyani, naan, noodles,kabab , chicken soup,etc.All tasted good. Best part is the service, people were so nice and friendly, Mr Khalid did nice job to help us 12 people crowd to settle in a comfortable seats. We ordered so many stuffs all delivered together, without one of us waiting and others are eating. Food cost is also nominal with good quantity. There will be a wait time, so plan ur time. Love to visit them again.

In the Tabaq restaurant, we ordered halwa puri and Chola Bhatury for breakfast. Both were so delicious, and quantity was perfect for 4 to 5 people. Tasty Chai, and next time we will come again.

You can never go wrong with the food at Tabaq. Everything is so delicious and the customer service is great! I highly recommend the JB Karahi, it was the most seasoned karahi I’ve ever had!

Dined here and had the JB Karahi. It was great quality and very flavorful. Enjoyed the food, and had a wonderful time! The staff is very friendly! And the decor is really nice.

Best Pakistani food in New Jersey

I like this place as the food is good and the menu has options for most people. Service can be spotty at times however. Staff needs to pay attention when customers need something or are ready to order or get their check. One major issue is the men’s bathroom. The floor is ALWAYS wet and disgusting. There’s hair and debris and whatever other nasty things that accumulate and it’s just gross. PLEASE do something about this as it takes away from the enjoyment of your restaurant.

Great Halal food with original Pakistani dishes and Chinese fusion. The Chili Chicken and Rogni Naan are very good. The staff is very helpful.

Today we tried new Tabaq special Karahi. It was so delicious also their Roghni naan was the best.

Best Balochi Karahi. Best selection naan.

The BBQ, Butt Karahi & fresh Naan are the best to order for dine in only, but never take it home they give you have the order & it is not as good, I didn’t get the 18% extra for service charge for 4 or more people. The restaurant atmosphere is better than before although as a proper muslim I dont want to hear any music.

There was an ant inside my mango lassi. Very dissatisfied with this place. Once I told the waiter he just scooped it up out of my drink. I asked for a new one and yes he did change it out. Still disappointed.

Food was good, service not that great. Plus check your bill here they add some weird operational fees, credit card fees, service charge and stand on your head while signing the tab to get more tip.

very third class taste. we tried their chiness food and taste was so bad when we asked for some extra sauce they refused to give us and told that we already put sauces in the food. taste is so bad very disappointed will never visit them again

I went in and saw one other family already eating but the food I ordered took about an hour. They even have a sign telling you it will be slow: “good food comes to those who wait”. Well, I waited but I wish I hadn’t because the food was awful. I asked for medium spice and the chicken tikka came with none. I don’t even eat a lot of spice so that should tell you how bland it was. The lamb roll too was bland. I ate a few bites and threw it out. I’m surprised by the positive ratings but this was just not good.

The food was great but the wait time is little longer. Other than that food is amazing loved mutton chops and mutton kadai. Imran gave us a good customer service.

Excellent desi food at such reasonable pricing. They have such a variety that you really can't go wrong with anything. Our favorites especially are the Goat karahi, beef bihari, and naan. Naan is so fluffy and delicious. And they're the real deal. Everything is halal and in true solidarity, there are NO coke or pepsi products. Made me love them even more for this 🇵🇸💖

The food quality was awful, none of the food was fresh (definitely fell like it was all reheated in the microwave). Services was terrible and our waiter just simply trying to rush us out the door. The owner didn’t seem to care either, he just want more customers in and out, and disregarded customer service all together. Definitely would not recommend, better off going literally anywhere else! Additionally, asked to get something removed from bill and off the table three separate time and when the bill came, the request was still not fulfilled. The hot and sour soup was literally spoiled and smelled even worse, but they didn’t want to take the loss for it so they insisted on charging us for it. Eventually got it removed.

Worth 2 hours drive from Delaware. Our server Umair was very humble and making sure every few min if we need any thing. They have 2 type of chines Desi and authentic both are top notch. Will visit again no more Shalimar going again

Came here two years ago with my fam and when we learned we were going to nj again, we knew we had to come back! Amazing food with such good portions and so flavorful complete with amazing service from staff. The food is made fresh and love the inside. Will be coming back!

The service and the food are good. Atmosphere is excellent. However, they need to improve their services and a little food quality. There shouldn't be a wait time while the food is intermittent required

Very delicious food, the atmosphere was perfect and they were very attentive.

I found hair in my food, told them about it and showed it to them and they said they will bring the manager. The person never told anyone because we could see him hanging around where we were seated. When the bill came nothing was adjusted as well. Dint want to argue about it so we just left. Food was mediocre. I was nauseous after finding hair in my food so it just ruined the whole experience.

Very disappointed by our wedding ceremony here. Everything we attempted to communicate was ignored by the manager & he tried to short-change us at the end with payment. From ignoring the seating chart we provided, to not letting the decorator do their job adequately & not providing adequate cooling to half of the guests and making excuses the entire time, the staff & crew at Tabaq really put a damper on a beautiful wedding night here

Food is okay. Tried few items. They have plenty of room to progress. Beef nehari was a turn off. Also the behari was little dry. Mutton korma was great!

I wanted to go to a Pakistani restaurant and I found this restaurant when the food came it was amazing and the service was great definitely worth it

This is a terrible place. I had a few bad experiences. 1st time, I went there with friends and ordered Lahori fish. They took more than an hour to bring the fish, and it was still raw. When we complained, they took the same half eating piece of fish and re fried it, lol. Today, I ordered a takeout and called 40minut before my wife went to pick it up, and they had no idea of the order. They made her wait another half and hour, and when she got home, there were no chicken nuggets that were charged on the bill, and on top of that, they charged us a convenient fee. I wonder what convince, haha.

Amazing food, great portions, and reasonably priced. We order takeouts from this place often and food has been consistently excellent. Recently placed a large catering order for a house party and happy to share that service and food were fantastic. It was easy to place the order. My guests enjoyed all dishes very much. Thank you Tabaq!

Edit1:i dined here again and tried their Mutton Kadhai and Zafrani Kheer. The Mutton Kadhai looked and tasted more like Mutton Khorma instead of a Kadhai. Not sure if this was an order mismatch or if they started making kadhai like khorma. The Zafrani Kheer was utterly delicious. I ordered the Mutton kadia and it was utterly delicious. The meat was so soft that it literally started melting in my mouth.

Terrible experience. We wanted to order Butt Karahi, but waiter said it will take 30min, so we ordered other dishes and it took more than 40min for other dishes. Qty was very less compared to price, and they overcharged us. 120$ for two dishes (biryani and chicken karahi), 2 rotis and 2 small water bottles. 120$ for this meal was extremely high and that too with poor service.

This is the best restaurant in New Jersey for Pakistani cuisine. Both supervisor Waseem and manager Khalid are always on duty and help ensure that the experience is excellent. Both done in and take out.

I visited this restaurant on my trip to USA from Pakistan. It is by far the best restaurant representing the Pakistani culture and cuisine in USA. 10/10 experience. Would definitely recommend

One of the most reasonably priced desi food in the Edison area. We really liked the papdi chaat but the goat biriyani was very bland and disappointing. The ambiance is nice but the service could be better. There's also plenty of free parking.

This was our first visit, and words would not do justice on how delicious the food is. The service was great and prompt. We will definitely return. We ordered chicken biryani and boneless chicken tikka.

Last night went to Tabak restaurant and order Lasha pratha. They didn’t know how to make it. It’s not proper cocked and very thick. Am very disappointed about they didn’t even know what is lasha paratha.

The worst service i had tried overhear. I got two order dine in and take out. The guy charged me 3 type of tax. Still no problem butt the taste of fresh chicken karahi is worst. The chicken is not proper cocked and the tomato's you can check in pitcher. The service is very bad even i got the bill more then 200 and they didn't give me salad or extra plate. Never recommend that place for food. The people come outside from nj dont waste your money and time.

I just want to give them 0 star because the staff don’t know how to treat the costumer and also they charged for using extra plates. The taste of butt Karahi is very sweet in flavor don’t know how to cook and still charged 3 types of taxes. Not recommended.

It’s a well decorated family style restaurant. We tried out their butt chicken karhai, chicken karhai, goat special karhai, chicken malai kabab & chicken behari boti with poori that they suggested. The amount was so great. A single dish can easily serve 2 persons alone. And taste wise, the food was great, not the best though! For my tastebud, it had less salt in it. The spice range was good for me. The poori had too much oil in it. The mango lassi was average. But the goat karhai was amazing. I can still feel it’s taste. Their service was great, we were loving it! But suddenly at the end the servers kept insisting to put Google reviews for their restaurant! I never faced this kinda behavior from any restaurant & it irritated me!! Cutting one point for this behavior! But for their dishes, it’s definitely 5 ⭐️

The chicken Karahi was not good at all. The chicken was boiled first then tossed into the sauce. The chicken had no flavor. The sauce didn’t have Any flavor either. The Kabab was tasteless no flavor.

I had such a bad experience’ I ordered big party tray of butter chicken and chicken biryani for family party ‘ food was rotten & smelly ‘ 4 people of my family got very sick overnight due to eating that food, then I called the owner and complained, but no action was taken and no reimbursement or giving apology, so be careful when you order in a big quantity ‘ because owner doesn’t pay any attention to his business !

I ate naan and lamb curry which was excellent, but I ordered butter naan, in which there is zero percent butter on it.

Yesterday, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, having traveled all the way from Maryland. I am delighted to report that our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food was fresh and delectable, the service was impeccable, and both the restaurant and restrooms were impeccably clean. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous, making it a truly worthwhile visit.
