Best Italian food we’ve ever had, and that includes having dined in Italy. Three words: The. Pillow. Bread. It would be my last meal of death row, that’s how good it is.

We loved everything about Tappi! The bucatini carbonara was some of the best I’ve ever had, the menu was thoughtful, delicious, and perfect. The wine list was great as well - we enjoyed red wines from Sicily and the Veneto region. The ambiance was intimate and cozy, and the service was friendly and excellent. Our family visits the Methow Valley every summer, and getting a reservation at Tappi was at the top of our list - it’s a restaurant that captures the heart and essence of Italian cooking.

We went to Tappi's for our first time this week to celebrate a special occasion. Wow! We really loved this place. We started with sharing the pillow bread with Chevre and tomatoes. I think I could make a meal out of this alone next time. We ordered the lamb special and the bucatini special for our main courses, both were perfect. Then we had some panna cotta for dessert, and I think they could have rolled us out of there we were so stuffed. The staff and Chef were friendly and very helpful with the wine selection. We can't wait to go back.

Over priced pizza joint, domino's want a be. This is not an "Italian restaurant". Pizza Hut with attitude. Horrible sauce tastes like ragu. Undercooked noodles, bread was the best part. Heard the food still sucks and is overrated at best. I will add to my review any time I feel like it, by the way you also made my 7 month pregnant nephews wife wait in your tiny unheated waiting area at the front door in 10 degree weather while waiting for us to arrive. Must be something else you learned from your parents.

Pillow bread with chevre and tomatoes was absolutely amazing (five stars, deserves ten stars). Penna cotta as well (five stars). The reason why I gave three stars overall is the main dish and the way the wine was served. I ordered tuna pasta and it was pretty decent. Undercooked pasta with canned tuna fish (two star). The wine was served in a water glass… really bizarre (?). Pricy restaurant can’t let such an oversight. Place is cosy and charming.

We thought maybe people were exaggerating when they called this the best Italian food they’d ever had, but really, it was spectacular! We ordered the Anna pizza and the bucatini & bacon pasta special. Each was about $25. The Anna pizza was maybe the best pizza I’ve ever had. We would definitely visit again if we’re ever in the area! Make sure you book a reservation in advance.

Drove 45 minutes to celebrate an engagement here only to be turned away because it was reservation only, even though the place was about half full and it was 7:30!!! My husband and I decided to do a weekend trip to the East side of the North Cascades and I found Tappi through some extensive research. We arrived when they opened and I knew I should have made a reservation—we were initially told they didn’t have room, but then the hostess ran out the door after us to offer a 7:30 reservation. It was well worth the wait. The pillow bread was incredible, the pasta was homemade and simple in the best way, and the pizza had the perfect amount of flavor. John is an incredible cook and you can tell each dish is cooked with love for his heritage and his family. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and Rachel was a delight (thank you for making room for us!!). We will definitely be back!

My wife and I and 11 others had a wonderful dinner here a few nights ago. The food was absolutely marvelous. It’s a nice restaurant, friendly staff, good service, mostly Italian. I had the Bolognese and my wife had the traditional spaghetti and both were wonderful. The place was packed and it took a little while to get our food but the restaurant provided us with a couple complementary pizzas to munch on while our entrées were being made. And while we didn’t order pizza, we got to sample the ones they brought to us and they were wonderful. Can’t overstate how friendly the wait staff and bartender/chef were. I think the chef may have been the restaurant owner. If you ever find yourself in or around Twisp, you need to check this restaurant out.

Fantastic gluten free crust. Arguably the best GF pizza I’ve ever tasted. (If you don’t mind the wood fired, flames kissed crust. There will be some blackened crust!) Unique toppings, but not too pretentious (no pears or eggplants on your pizza. 😂) Fantastic salad vinaigrette dressing… usually this dressing is way too tart, but this dressing was a pleasant balance of sweet and savory. Warning: this place is expensive for a pizza. Don’t be going here with kids (this isn’t Pizza Hut), but rather save Tappi’s for a fancy date.

We had owner John and our server Ruby pick out our meal (I recommend this!) and started with his famous Pillow Bread (if you're on Keto, this is the meal to break it for). His Pillow Bread, baked in a pizza oven, is crust perfection enveloping bites of pillow soft dough surrounded in a moat of roasted tomatoes and chèvre cheese. Unbelievable food. Great wait staff. Super friendly and knowledgeable. In this day and age getting a server that knows the food is nearly impossible. Our waitress guided us through a totally Italian menu with recommendations and descriptions of dishes that were impeccable. This is a legit Italian Bistro with a brick oven. Everything is cooked in the brick oven and the chef is an artist. He is manipulating pasta dishes, pizza, breads, you name it. He looked like a maestro. He never broke a sweat working at that oven. It was 100 degrees outside and the AC was struggling to keep up against the oven, but it just added to the experience. They have a good wine list as well as the usual drinks except for Iced Tea. This place is in the middle of nowhere, I mean in the middle of nowhere. I have to assume the chef/owner came from somewhere like N.Y., Seattle, Boston, or somewhere and decided to get away from it all. It is the best Italian food in 1000 miles. We started out in Apple country looking for somewhere decent to get a bite. We went to 3 places and left for either fear of food poisoning or just neglect from staff who seemed disappointed that we were there. You won’t get that at Tappi’s. However reservations are recommended. We got there at 4:55 and they were not open yet. They asked if we had reservations and of course we did not. They squeezed us in and man am I happy they did. For two with appetizer, salads and entrees, with a tip it was about 100 dollars. No wine or beers. A little pricey for the middle of nowhere but trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Best Gluten Free Pizza . The best GF crust my friend has ever had and pleasingly delicious flavors which were freshly prepared and wonderfully crisp. My meal which was one of their pastas from their main menu was sone of the best Italian food and coming from NY I know my Italian food We did take out and they encourage you to call ahead as it’s a small restaurant and they also have their dine in guests

Got takeout and the service and food were superb. Loved the vibe when picking up and look forward to dining in next time. Would go all the way to Twisp again just for the best gluten-free pizza crust probably in existence.

this place has always been good, but it has now become a kind of UR italian place, with a kind of muscular cooking and flavor profiles that blow the restaurant wieners outta the water. If you want real, peasant, devil-in-the details yum, this is for you. If you are a foodie nimrod, go elsewhere. Look where tf you ARE, look what tf you are being SERVED from a wood fired oven! damn! so delucious! I am SATisfied! uh, the puffy cucina bread for an appetizer-duh! with chevre and roasty toasty tomats! The home made hearty pasta? like carbonara with GIANT chunks of bacon? DUH! deeply deeply satisfying. and we drive down from Mazama. Thank you Tappi! years of yum… did I say ‘satisfaction’? hard to find these days. get it here. Surrender to the wood fire flavors and the heart of heartiness.

Wow! Incredible attention to delectable detail. Everything was home made with love and perfectness. Service was as good as the love John (Big Boss) put into the flavor. This is a 5 star restaurant in the heart of the Methow. Hats off to you guys at Tappi.

There is good food, there is great food, and then there are meals that you know you will remember for the rest of your life as soon as you take the first bite. I've experienced the latter only a handful of times in my life, and Tappi is one of them. This restaurant is something truly rare and special, and having experienced it, it will now be a priority to stop in again any time I'm on the east side of the mountains. Thank you John for an incredible and unforgettable meal!

Really nice place in a super small town. The owner was cooking the pizza. They make great pizza with real, fresh ingredients. The owner is also a super nice guy.

We ate at Tappi’s and were surprised to find authentic Italian cuisine in Twisp. We were pleased to find that Tappi’s takes our health and safety seriously: Liz, our waitress, checked our COVID inoculation status. We delighted in the hand-made pasta. John, the chef, delivered our piping-hot entrees to our table. Tappi’s the place to go in the Methow Valley.

Everyone visiting should stop by and have dinner. Totally worth a visit. John was very nice, and the women that was taking orders. (I’m sorry I don’t remember her name) was very helpful and knowledgeable. They are only doing take out but very worth it! The Bianca pizza was amazing and the pasta al forno with meat sauce was great. It’s unfortunate we don’t live here we would eat here again. Thank you for staying open for carryout.

The coffee was terrible, the service sucked, they shut window in our face before we could even give them a tip, not a thank you, or have a nice day. They just simply did not want to be at work tha
