We were in Pensacola for vacation and found this little gem of a place in downtown Pensacola. Our server was very helpful with order and so pleasant. Food had very authentic Indian taste. We had butter chicken, madras chicken, daal fry, naan, roti, and mango lassi. Everything was fresh and delicious. They even gave us a plate of complimentary sweets at the end. Ambiance was comfortable and cozy. All in all a solid Indian restaurant near downtown Pensacola. Highly recommend for good food and service.

This place,the food, and the people are incredible! If you seek a top notch dining experience without breaking the bank, you gotta check out taste of India. Our culture could learn lots about the importance of servers who are attentive to diners desires instead of acting like the diners "need" the servers. And the food, as fresh as it gets and so freaking flavorful it'll knock your socks off! Then there's the table setting; cloth napkins and wonderful service really make a big difference to this guy. Take your sweetheart, he/she will love you for it! Baliwood on the telly I could do without but it still is at the top for atmosphere

Great place to go for a nice dinner date! The waiter was outstanding and seemed to really take pride in the food and explained things to us when we inquired. Prompt service, but not over-bearing. Food was delicious and plentiful. Had plenty to take home for a second meal. The only downside was that it was kind of chilly with the air conditioner blowing on high blast, so bring a long sleeve shirt! Fantastic place to go, definitely recommend, especially for a celebration!

I picked up my order. But I’ve dined in twice there. Always on point. They are good at recommending things on their menu that relate to what I personally like. As Soon as you walk in you get hit with the most sensational smell. Everyone is always super nice.

Guys don’t know Indian taste . Don’t go and order anything . Butter paneer masala don’t have butter inside . Server even don’t know . They serve chili sauce with paneer and called butter paneer masala .

We've been going to this restaurant for years now. The food is always delicious and the portions are generous. The restaurant definitely needs a deep clean and touch up or redesign, though, especially the bathroom.

We love this place so much, we moved from Pensacola to Milton & still make the drive out there. The guys who work there are soo nice, it's always a good time seeing them! The food tastes amazing too, we go for the lunch buffet as often as possible. Highly recommend.

We went here for lunch buffet. Luch buffet is served from 12-2pm. The food is very delicious 😋! Their rice, briyani, Naan, chicken peas, goat curry and chicken curry were my favorites. They had other choices but these were my favorite. Children ate at a discount, which is a plus! The atmosphere is calm, and the employees were quick to assist with anything asked! This is one of the best Indian food I've tasted in a long time.

We enjoyed my Daughter's birthday dinner at A Taste of India. Even though we arrived 30mins prior to closing, the chef & staff were friendly & made us feel so welcome. All the food was so flavorful & delicious. The portions were large enough to have plenty to take home. Our waiter was so sweet brought over a yummy dish of his Homemade Mango ice cream for the birthday girl Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Ordered butter chicken and garlic naan. It came up to $31, no big deal except, it was not worth it. The butter chicken contained so much sugar it was hard to finish. I have never tasted “sweet” butter chicken. There are other places that are not overpriced and you get better tasting food. Will not be returning.

Two words: SO. FLAVORFUL! Absolutely blown away by the quality of this food - every single thing we got was incredibly delicious. For starters, the mulligatawny soup and chicken 75 were delicious! My vegetable coconut curry was hands down the best curry I’ve ever had - such a perfect blend of savory and sweet. This is was our first time here but absolutely not our last. Cannot recommend enough!!!!

This is my favorite place to eat in Pensacola! The lunch buffet is so good and so is the dinner. I came here for my high school graduation about 4 years ago and they were extremely friendly and gave me a cool hat to wear and had a big table for us set up. There are so many vegetarian options so I don’t feel limited. Every dish is good and the mango ice cream is the cherry on top! Edit: The music is always great and I love the decor :)

We had the lunchtime buffet, started by trying a small sample of each on the first go. Then went back for my favorites. Finally tried the Mango Ice Cream which was delicious.

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary, it did not disappoint! Quaint location that was laidback, the staff was very attentive and friendly, the food was great, portions were huge, and the prices were affordable. Given its proximity to the beach and downtown, and how much food you get, it’s actually quite a bargain! We got 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 drinks, and a dessert for about $80. We left absolutely stuffed and we took about half of it home as leftovers. Will definitely be back soon, next time with stretchy pants.

The food was ABSOLUTELY GREAT !!!! The fish fry was to die for, you have to try it! The Naan tasted very fresh .Customer service was EXCELLENT..! We felt every bit of welcome and appreciated for coming in . The ambience felt very authentic and we felt like we were eating at a local restaurant in India itself. OVERALL, excellent restaurant!! We will definitely be going back!!

Went to the buffet. All in all it was pretty good but the naan was a huge disappointment. Not fresh and more like stale pita. As someone who prefers naan over rice, this was a bummer. I’d probably go back regularly if the naan was better.

Been here a number of times and have yet to be disappointed by either the service or the food. Definitely one of my top 3 places here in Pensacola.

We a group of 8 friends had a superbly satisfying dinner from here last Memorial Day. Special thanks goes to Manny who served us, warmly welcomed & service offered with a great sincerity while having a cordial conversation with all of us, making our dinner so remarkable. It was great experience to served by a Sri Lankan with inherited hospitality in our culture. Entire staff were amazing. Curry leave chicken is a distinct chicken curry dish that you won’t find frequently & must try - has a great spicy taste mixed with authentic curry leaves taste. There are plenty of options for taste levels of biriyani. We had special chicken biriyani that I recommend for real south Asian spicy taste lovers. Its portion fits for 2 people, so budget friendly too. Our favorite dessert was mango ice cream, felt like tasting real mango with a balanced sweetness. If you’ve sweet teeth you must try bread pudding.

Had a memorable delicious lunch on Memorial day. Special thanks to Mani ayya at the restaurant who made our visit even tastier with exceptional and brotherly service. Also thankful to the great staff who maintain the loving atmosphere inside and outside the restaurant and hats off to the chefs who prepared the mouth watering special Biriyani and the Curry leaf chicken dish.( sorry for not having the photos of food cause was in a hurry to enjoy the taste as the smell from the kitchen brought appetite rush even before receiving the meal on the table ) Everything was a remarkably unforgettable experience from the moment we entered the premises. Recommend for everyone who is in eager to taste the indian cuisine. You will have a mesmerizing experience for sure.

In celebration of my son's graduation we tried taste of India for the first time and were not disappointed. Every dish I tried was good. Great flavor and heat. The staff was attentive and polite. I definitely recommend and we will be back.

Tried Hyderabad Chicken Biryani here, very tasty and yum. Service is really good, staff is really friendly. Also tried Apetaizer Chicken 555 which is not upto the mark but good.

The food is amazing. Everything we tried did not disappoint. We left full with plenty of leftovers for later. This is my new favorite place to eat in Pensacola. Our server was the best. He was so patient and answered all our questions. As we were leaving, our server came outside with my mom’s wallet. It had fallen out of her purse as we were leaving. So thankful there are still honest people in this world. So do yourself a favor and go eat at Taste of India.

I absolutely love this place. The food and the people are all so great. I live in milton and wish this place was closer to me or i'd eat here everyday. I get the chicken tikka misala and the curry leaf chicken. So much flavor in their dishes. Their naan is amazing too!

This restaurant is a must try! We had the lunch buffet and it was amazing! Plenty of options and simply just delicious. If that was enough I haven’t had such good customer service and hospitality in a long time. I would go back just because they are so nice! They keep the buffet extremely clean and constantly replenished. I can’t wait to go back!

They have a large buffet and several desert items. It is not strongly spicy so if you will like it. They had two home made ice creams - Mango and custard, absolutely fabulous. Service was excellent. I will visit there again when in town next.

This was my first time experiencing this beautiful restaurant with a peaceful ambiance. The customer service was impeccable. They consistently were making sure we were taken care of in every way possible. The whole staff was very attentive. The food was served very quickly, and everything I ordered tasted was SO delicious. The portions were huge enough that I had to take some home. The bathrooms were very clean along with the rest of the restaurant. Overall amazing experience, and I can't wait to taste more of their delicious food.

This review comes from a family of four, all vegetarians, who visited the restaurant for its buffet on a Saturday. While we did not sample the non-vegetarian offerings, we found the vegetarian options disappointing. The butter naan was soggy and sticky, likely due to being packed in a hot box. Despite requesting fresh garlic naan, the owner refused. The batura was undercooked and lacked flavor, while the biryani rice was sticky and inadequately spiced. Please don’t call it Biryani. Oil was floating in the cabbage curry, and the saag paneer had an unpleasant taste. However, we found some solace in the cauliflower potato curry. The chole lacked taste and freshness, and the yogurt rice was notably lacking in yogurt. The fried rice was deemed acceptable in terms of taste and spice. Overall, the buffet left much to be desired for its $25 price tag, with most dishes receiving low ratings. It is not even worth $5. Our family suggests exploring other dining options if you're a vegetarian in the area, especially if you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine. My friends family who are non-vegetarians had more horrible things to say and mentioned that the buffet is not even worth a single star. If you're a Desi do not try food here. Waste of Money & Waste of time.

Great service Good atmosphere as well I can only speak for meat menu that I tried and here it is We (family) showed up and ordered Tandoori chicken, Tangdi chicken kabob, and tikka masala. All meat tasted like old meat that have seen fryer and freezer multiple times before making it way to our plates. We ended up ordering doordash delivery food from some other restaurant while we're still in taste of India. We didn't wanted to nor we made anyone uncomfortable so we politely asked for to go boxes just so we can trash em outside. Maybe we just had bad experience but all three plates of chicken were bad. We won't be trying this restaurant at all in future.

Food was ok. Quantity of Main course dish was good at the price other than Ala Carte. Naan are thick bread. Not so good. Can be improved and will taste better of they are thin. Seems they add yeast to it to make it like bhatura. Ambience is old. Can be improved. Their buffet cost is equal to One dish cost in Ala Carte. Check in the photos. Wanted to give 3.5 but no option in reviews and can’t give 4 as need improvements. Service guys were good.

Garlic Naan was served dry with no butter and too much turmeric powder. Tikka Masala was flavor less. Other items on buffet were similarly bland. There are zero decent Indian restaurants in Pensacola. TV was too loud, otherwise the atmosphere and service was Ok

The good: Great service, fantastic chai, good overall value The bad: The buffet was not as hot as it was at previous places (we have probably been to over a dozen Indian restaurants in other cities). The tandoori chicken wasn't good quality meat. We were ready to return but we both had really upset stomachs later that night and thought we would get sick. They need to keep a closer eye on the food safety and holding temperature. We desperately want some good Indian food but are scared of getting serious food poisoning, am very sad to write this :'(

Food is twice as expensive as compared to Houston.

Very bad food taste. We had Tangri chicken which was almost rotten. Chicken was over cooked. Moreover, the taste was so bad that we could not eat at all. The price is super expensive. There was no single dish less than 20 dollar. I did not see any Indian restaurant who charges 6 dollar for Nun bread. We also took samosa. They charged 8 dollar for two samosa. Which supposed to be half. I would not regret if the taste is good. The taste was so bad, portion was small and super expensive. Seems like they robbering people in every way. If you want to spoil your day or date by spending too much money and eating rotten food then go.

Never eaten this besides in another state, but the selection was vast, the beer was great, the food and being served by Mani was fantastic, 10/10 will be back. Recommend the vindaloo and the kikka musala!

I knew the host/owner was going to be great when he first greeted us. Treated us like close friends. Gave my wife a recommendation based on protein, type of sauce, and level of spice (it was tikka masala). I told him I'll eat anything, but would like goat as my protein and he said "I got you" and he did perfect with goat house curry. The garlic naan and basmati rice were fantastic and the home made mango ice cream was out of this world! The wait staff was quick and friendly giving us water and clearing plates. We can't wait to come back for the lunch buffet! It does not matter we live an hour away in Fort Walton Beach.

Went tonight for the first time after driving by more times than I wanted without trying. I'm absolutely kicking myself in the butt, as this place is truly a hidden gem of Pensacola. Food quality, service, and portion sizes are as good as it gets. The food: absolutely SPOT ON authentic Indian food. From the first bite, I regretted driving by this restaurant even once without trying. Goodness gracious, full of all the curry flavor at whatever heat you want it. I had Mutton Rara which came in a very generous portion, and what an excellent choice to be introduced to this restaurant. Garlic Naan to accompany it, and a homemade mango ice cream to finish the night. I ate every last bite, and the pain of over eating was totally worth it! 5 star food! The service: I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best in the entire Pensacola metro area. From the time we entered until we left, we felt like we were the only people in the restaurant, and their number 1 priority. I would have believed that had I not saw them treat everybody else the same way! My wife and I both just couldn't decide what to eat, and our waiter essentially ordered for us after asking about food preferences, and he knocked it out of the park. Perfect choices for us both! They were also so sweet to our twin babies who couldn't get enough of the attention. TLDR: You absolutely need to eat here. Do not pass this restaurant ever again if you've been by without stopping!

My favorite aspect of the restaurant is the decorations that they have hanging from the ceiling. Service: It’s a self serve restaurant. Once you’re seated, you can go get your food buffet style, or you can also choose to order from the menu! Menu items: I tried a little bit of everything from the selection that they had. I love any protein + rice dishes, so I was able to try different options with their curry selections. One of my favorite menu items was their broccoli that they have fried with a red sauce, and their dessert is absolutely delicious! I think I got a mango ice cream when I visited. They provide a flavorful dining experience with a varied menu to go through!
