We came for buffet, she mentioned we are going to refill and you can have it. But she never refill anything and we are we are vegetarians. We asked so many times for food but she neglected us. We didn’t anything and she charged us. Waste of money please don’t go here. Waste of money and no taste food. No customer respect

The worst restaurant I ever tried in my entire life. I beg people from South India not to visit this place for anything, you will disappoint a lot. They don't know have proper biryani. I myself can cook better biryani than them. It is totally of vegetables and less chicken. The curries are not at all spicy and very sweet even we have ordered for extra spice. Waiting time is very high. The chef who is cooking should visit a proper biryani restaurant first. He or she should learn how a biryani looks and Tastes like. Specially south Indians, my humble request, don't order any biryani here. Spice level is worst. Don't order any beverages too, the quantity is very less in the mango lassi too. Great business tactic is used by this restaurant.

Great service and delicious food! I do wish it was a little bit spicier. Their hot sauce was delicious but not very spicy, I used it as a dip for the naan (which is a great combination by the way) They offered me a drink that is off the menu which they described as a milk with crushed cashews and almonds, that was one of the greatest recommendations I have ever had at a restaurant! It should be on the menu permanently! We came in with a big group and they were very accommodating and did their best to keep up with us.

Servers were very nice and welcoming. Had the naan and butter chicken, both were cooked very well. Would definitely go back.

Great spot with excellent food, a good atmosphere and music, and delicious food. We all left with a smile and a full tummy. Service was really good, very attentive, welcoming, and kind. In today's atmosphere where so many businesses are out of touch and take customers for granted, it is refreshing to go somewhere where your business is valued and you are appreciated! We will be back soon - you should visit soon too!

This was hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The tandoori chicken and tikka masala were flavored wonderfully and paired very well with the garlic naan. I highly recommend it.

Accidentally stumbled on their lunch buffet today and it was amazing! Lots of vegetarian options ready to go and they were all delicious. Very clean restaurant and kind workers. Also affordable!

For a truly North Indian experience served with smiles and upbeat attitude. Being for the west coast where Indian food is heavily available this place pars to the competition. The food was amazing and the service even better. For the moment I walked in (even though I got earlier then opening they welcomed me in with smiles). Made helpful menu selections and the food was absolutely incredible. Being away from home and missing the food this hit the spot just right not only was the spice perfect but my kids to throughly enjoyed it as well. Food came out in a timely manner and well prepared. If I ever come out this way again this would definitely be on my list of places to go.

One of my favorite places to go for lunch. Their buffet is so delicious and you get to try new dishes at a lower cost this way. The owners and staff are so welcoming. Today I was offered a delicious mojito beverage which I ordered non—alcoholic. They just remodeled and opened a bar so they are opened later at night. Stop in for a lovely meal, hospitality, and a drink.

This used to be a spot I consistently visited, but unfortunately after several very bad experiences, it's off my list. I've experienced everything from a bug in my drink, to the wrong food being given (dine in) and the server telling me that she gave me what I ordered (which isn't true because I order the exact same thing every time Ive been there), and my uber eats order being totally incorrect. The staff is very nice, so it's unfortunate that so many negative incidents have occurred.

I love Indian food. I may not always know what I’m eating, but I know I will like it, which makes buffets perfect. The buffet was very clean, the staff were all friendly, and most important, the food was delicious. The curried goat was a first for me, and I will definitely have it again when I go back. I’m glad I made the hour drive to dine here.

This place is delicious! They recently added a center bar and it looks so nice. You can tell they care about upgrading and delivering a good experience. The bartender was extremely friendly and helpful. The food is top quality and budget friendly. This is a good place to come to regularly, I’ll be back soon.

Went in for pick up. I have been going to Taste of India for years. The food is consistently amazing. The best part was meeting John Paul the bartender who relocated here to work in this family owned business. I highly recommend taste of India! Well worth the twenty minute drive for take out - brand new renovations definitely bumped up the atmosphere!! Please give it a shot if you’ve never been!

The Lamb Rogan Josh dish had no flavor at all, which was surprising. Visually and taste wise, it was saturated with oil. Very unfortunate as this was my first time trying this place and I'll be honest, I don't think I want to risk coming back for an Indian dish that I swear, as a white guy, I could make much better!

They are rude to food delivery drivers(UberEats,GrubHub, Doordash) upon arrival. Try to be nice because your business dones depend on delivery and attitude.

I ordered for delivery (doordash) and got the Lamb curry, and mango lassi. They were delicious, and filling. The sweet of the mango with the savory curry was a good mix.

Short review is Absolute garbage. Don't even recommend a free meal here. I went for buffet in afternoon and not even 1 dish is eatable. The number of dishes is very less. All the dishes are bland and Chef has no knowledge on Indian. The staff has no training on how to receive the guests Anyone with no experience can run a restaurant like this

My favorite Indian in America. I’ve had Indian food from all over and this one has the best options, the best taste and atmosphere. I get the buffet on Sunday best deal in Charleston, go there right at 1130 when they open and the food is hot and fresh not a single bad dish. Goat curry, grilled chicken, fresh vegetables, soup and delicious bread. You must try the sweet tea best flavor I’ve ever had.

Food is good, but check it before you leave if ordering take out. Just paid $80 for dinner to come home and find out they didn't put rice in my bag. So after paying for an expensive dinner here I am at home, making rice anyway 😑

This is the best restaurant in this city, grat selection, excellent service, very nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who would like to go for lunch or supper, very friendly staff..Food is awesome and offering numerous healthy options. Extremely unpleasant hostess. Waiting for over an hour for a take out order and the restaurant is not busy. Would not recommend to anyone that cares about where their money goes or values their time.

I ordered via Uber eats pick-up. I was told my order would be ready after 15-30 minutes. I arrived shortly after the time my app said it was ready. After waiting 5-10 minutes to be spoken to, I was told my order would be ready soon and to wait in their bar/waiting area. No problem. After about 25 minutes, I asked them to check again and was told it would be ready soon and to wait. I decided to go across the street to run an errand and returned about 15-20 minutes later to check if it was ready. After asking the hostess to check on my order again and mentioning it had been about an hour since I was told it would be ready, she simply smiled, shrugged with her hands in the air, and told me, “sorry, we’re busy”. I again waited for 15 minutes until I had to speak up. Only after explaining that this is unacceptable did they seem to actually start cooking my order. I waited another 15 minutes until a bag was put in our hands and was told goodbye. After getting home and opening my food, I notice that nothing is correct in my order either. I have worked food and bev my entire life and do NOT like to complain or even leave reviews, but this is by far the worst experience I have had trying to pick up dinner for my family. Do not plan to return.

Ordered dinner to go, manager and cashier were not friendly. Vegetable platter was extremely salty and soaked in oil, fritters were undercooked in the middle. Would not recommend.

Worst indian food I've ever tasted.. waste of $$$. Only visit if you do not know the flavor of Indian food. Tried their veggie platter, was blend as they can be. Their Biryanis were like - I could make better than them even though am not even an Indian. Their shrimp vindaloo was epitome of mediocrity, barely ate one shrimp. Onion Kulcha which hinestly I had tried for the first time unfortunately was below blend. I couldn't believe they couldn't even make good raita...never again!

Extremely rude to customers, one of the staff members pushed someone who came to pick up a DoorDash order and yelled at him saying "FOOD IS NOT READY GO SIT BACK DOWN". The guy looked extremely hurt and said "wow, you're being rude to me." I will NEVER support a business that's rude to its customers. Do better and have some respect

We ate at the lunch buffet. The food was ok. Nothing to brag about. I was surprised that they did not have a staple for indian lunches 'Dal'. The tag on one of the dishes was papdi chat, but the dish only had masala potatoes, cold. The potatoes tasted good though. Not a place I would like to go again.

The best Indian restaurant in West Ashley, with super friendly staff. Kinda high prices but that's more of a Charleston problem, they're not higher than other restaurants in the area..I order from here every week and they've never messed my order up. The lamb curry is my fav dish :)

Consistently fail to follow simple directions. Some people have genetics that make them HATE cilantro. Imagine eating a bar of soap. Despite saying no cilantro clearly seen on the receipt, there's a piece of cilantro literally stuck to the paper right where it says no cilantro. Both dishes were loaded with cilantro. In addition, neither were spicy and were over salted garbage. This isn't the first time. I'm done giving this place a chance and will stick with Bombay

I thought my friend and I had ordered the same thing. The only difference would be that one was hot and the other not, but I must have moved my finger when pointing at the menu. I don't know what I ordered but I loved it.

I hosted my birthday dinner here and the service was TERRIBLE. We had a reservation and were admittedly a little late but only like 5 minutes. They didn't write anything down, charged us for items we didn't order, tried to hold my friend hostage, and were overall very uncooperative. I've never had such a terrible experience with a restaurant and won't be going back.

Orders almost never ready, people wait to pick up deliveries 30-50 minutes, sometimes in very busy time it is more than 70 minutes, do not order doordash or Uber from them, until they learn how to work fast with orders

Decent restaurant.We had ordered a Chicken Biryani and it was not the best .The spices and chicken tasted good but they had added a particular spice which had a strong pungent flavor.

They do still have the lunch buffet. At least on Saturday. Not sure about other days. Naan was good. Desserts were good. Rice and vegetables were good. I tried a little bit of everything since we were essentially told to do the buffet. Not sure if there was any other option during that time. The goat curry was the best thing to me but pretty much everything seemed like a variation of butter chicken. Extremely mild, not as much spice or flavor as I’m used to. Not sure if that was just a buffet thing or if that’s how all their dishes normally are. Hoping it’s just a buffet thing considering the other reviews I read. The dessert did make up for the somewhat lackluster main meal though.

Authentic Indian food, loved the mattar paneer and dal makhni… chilli naan was the best(try if you love hot) highly recommended.

The lunch buffet has been discontinued. However, they are offering a tray full of two chicken curries and one vegetarian curry for lunch. Plus, a few side dishes that you can enjoy. They also provide you with a massive basket of nann. You can’t beat this price and lunch special anywhere. I visited with my boyfriend and we had leftovers for dinner that night. The flavors were authentic and everything was delicious. I can’t wait to stop by again! Thank you!!

The food is decent, it’s just not consistent at all. My biggest gripe with this establishment, is how rude the staff can be. The woman who usually weighs your to-go buffet food, usually has a very bad attitude. They don’t even want to bag the food for you, they just tear a bag off and place it on top of your to-go trays, then they walk away. I’ve had to literally tell them to bag my food, They’re used to people not saying anything about it. I also have a feeling that they over charge when you get your to-go plate weighed. The scale is hidden out of the customers view…who knows how many extra ounces they might be adding. Even when we order dinner from there, their prices are really steep compared to the amount of food that they serve. They also use the cheapest to-go plates and dishes possible. More than likely purchased from the Dollar Tree across the street. All in all, the food is decent, but the horrible service always makes me think twice before going. The problem is, when you crave Indian food, you basically just have to deal with the nonsense of this place.

Three stars expressing gratitude for warm Indian vegetarian food on rainy day after a long drive. Slow service and grumpy owner making a fuss over silverware and asking for extra napkins. Charleston is beautiful place and hope the people and hospitality and the service industry keeps up with the vibe.

Tried Taste of India for the first time today and highly recommend it. Their lunch buffet was wonderful. They have a wonderful selection and each dish was delicious! Atmosphere is nice and relaxing. They have fun upbeat music, but it's not loud or obnoxious. The service here was also excellent. Everyone who worked here was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning!

I visited this place in the charlestone the Indian food I ate was fantastic with real taste of india I was so very craving for Indian food and I finally found a best Indian food in here in here The bala and guru are the server who served us really great and also gave some more information of near by places I will suggest you to try chicken tandoori chicken tikka masala very soft naan salads also please try to have buffet it is so amazing overall it’s was really great experience please do visit thank you

Service was extremely slow. Mayor Tecklenburg was holding some kind of event in a cordoned off portion of the venue at the time, so I assume that contributed. From the time we ordered to the time we received our food, it took 40 minutes. Furthermore, it took the same amount of time to receive the soda we ordered. Refills were inconsistent. It seemed like our server was struggling with maintaining our table. If you're going to eat here, do it when there isn't an event being held. That said, the food was fantastic. I had the tandoori chicken, which was superb and came to me steaming hot. The bread basket, similarly, was great! If the service I received was just an anomaly, then I would highly recommend Taste of India. Just, check to be sure no events are being held before you take your seat.

The food was fantastic! The lunch buffet is where it's at. Lots of choices and they are all good so you can't go wrong. Fresh, hot, and soft naan too. Can't wait to go back for dinner and try one of the many choices of beer from India.

Tried buffet, I would recommend trying other options than buffet in this restaurant because there are only few options in buffet and food wasn’t best either. Who puts sugar in chicken curry?

Wanted some good Indian food for lunch but unfortunately Naan's by Northwood Mall was to far. So I tried this place and totally regret it. I ordered sweet tea which taste like sweet hand sanitizer. I literally took one sip and my tongue ran to the back of my throat. The buffet was cold and the food was nasty. When I stated to the waiter the tea was nasty and I only took one sip he still charged me and asked if I wanted a to go cup. Naan's by Northwood is 1,000,000x better.

I was looking to find a good Indian restaurant in town and decided to try this place based on online reviews. The reviews are misleading, the food in this place is far from good. I tried the butter chicken and I wasn’t happy with the taste of the chicken.

This was a great find during our trip to Charleston. We wanted a last minute meal and they delivered for sure. The naan was fresh and you can tell the food was made to order. The only issue was the wait but well worth it.
