Excellent service and great Indian food. I ordered their buttered chicken and mango lasse. The chicken was creamy and packed full of flavor. The lasse was sweet and delicious. Some of the best Indian food I've had. Will definitely be back again!

On the way back from Charlotte we happened to reach this place for lunch. It is a nice place to eat. The dishes were made according to our test. ​

The food was super stale. The staff did not co-operate when we told that we wanted to cancel a dish which the staff only confirmed was stale. The ambiance is too depressing and it’s too cluttered . Did not like the place.. Pathetic … not recommended…

We had Lunch today , we had tomato soup which was ok , chicken soup was like chicken gravy diluted and served ! And We ordered Non veg Thali in which all the starters smelled and tasted rotten/Old chicken & pakoras , Rice & dal Makhani was ok eatable , Nan was too dry , lamb gravy wasn’t good , The dessert rice kheer tasted so worst rotten , Please be aware of the food .

Waited 20 minutes to get seated. Waited another 10 minutes for a waitress to come by just for them to go to the Indian family that had just arrived. Poor service and horrible set up.

Loved my dinner!!! I ordered the Shaahi Mughlai Paneer and wanted to lick the pan it was served in. Only a hold on my decorum by my husband stopped me 😂 He ordered the Navratan Korma and thought it was excellent. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant!!

We ordered Bhindi Masala and Daal Saag, Masala Papad for our dinner choice. The taste was excellent. Owner and customer service was great as well.

We were a big group that was visiting Virginia. The restaurant seemed a bit gloomy. The waitress was hesitant to provide extra plates when we asked to replace our used plates of appetizers. Then we asked for a side of lemons and onions. Dal tadka was not as tasty as we anticipated. The paneer chilli and panner tikka were great along with garlic naan. Towards the end, we were charged for onion salad but were not even told that the side of lemon were at additional cost.

The food is always great and the employees are very nice. They welcome us with a smile. It’s usually a quiet place where can have a nice conversation.

This is our favorite Indian Restaurant. We make it a point to stop by whenever we pass by Harrisonburg. The dishes are a perfect balance of spices, heat, and texture. The garlic naan is fantastic. Our favorite dishes are Goat Curry, Chicken Saag and Lamb Curry.

Great ambience and delicious wide variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes! We got the non-veg thali which was bang on Flo it’s, taste and portions enough for two!

I used to really like this restaurant, ordered here plenty of times, but the past 6+ months something has changed. They don't make their food spicy anymore, portions are smaller, and they have messed up multiple takeout orders. Sadly I do not recommend going here, there are better options in town!

My husband and I love to look for Indian restaurants when we visit new areas, and we stumbled across quite the gem here! It was by far some of the best Indian cuisine we’ve ever had, for a very affordable price point. We had the appetizer platter and discovered some new favorites, and enjoyed both the chicken and shrimp masala. The service was quick and the atmosphere was pleasant. Definitely worth giving it a chance.

Great place and wonderful food.

Forgot to take photos but the food was really good and the portions are large so you can get a couple and share or have leftover for later. We didn't have a need for much service but otherwise it was great. definitely recommend.

When I think of Indian food in the Harrisonburg area, I can't help but think of this place. They absolute nail the flavor and if you're a fan of spice, they'll more than accommodate. If anyone's looking for a dish outside of the typical Butter Chicken/Tikka Masala, I would highly recommend the Pistachio Chicken Korma.

We Didn't like it as per say.. the food was filled with vegetables that need not be there. Meat platter was 50% broccoli and cauliflower chunks. No amplified flavors for one to go wow. Just good for one time meal for us. Good staff and fair priced.

veg and non veg appetizer platter were good. Chicken tikka masala tasted like sprinkled with chilli powder. Dal tadka was average. Overall you can experience American Indian type food.

While the exterior of this restaurant looks nondescript, it is beautifully decorated inside with traditional elements. The food was out of this world. We ordered the sample appetizer platter and the garlic naan to start with. I ordered a dish with lamb that's marinated for 24 hours and my taste buds were singing the hallelujah chorus - spices were on point. My husband ordered a chicken curry dish which was rich and delicious. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend dining in for a date night or a to go order for a delicious night in!

Sorry sir, this is NOT taste of India. I ordered Chana and Aloo and Aloo paratha. Seems like, both dishes are cooked / put together in a hurry. Paratha, the dough is uncooked, and Aloo Channa has no taste.

This place is amazing. I think I could eat every meal here if I could handle it. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The stainless cups keep your water nice and crisp. We opted for vegetable samosas, butter chicken, chicken curry and garlic naan. All were absolutely phenomenal. My children demolished my leftovers qhen rhwy discovered them. We will definitely be back in the future.

Had Keep Now Noodles with Fried tofu. Not as tasteful as I'd hoped. Noodles were very gummy and stuck together in a glob. Fried tofu wasn't bad but didn't taste fresh.

My fiancé took me to taste of India on our trip to Massanutten. This is the first time I sat down and had dinner at an Indian restaurant in years. She such a wonderful person for surprising me. The venue was nice and our host was fantastic. The food was divine I have the lamb curry and she had the mango chicken. We both share the vegetable Samosa as an appetizer which comes with a red sauce and green. The mango chicken was better than my lamb curry I have to admit. I was please of the quality of food. I look forward to going back.

Don’t doordash here. (I’m a dasher) and waited 45 minutes for one order, told “five minutes” every time I asked. Employees were not helpful.

Outstanding fresh and delicious authentic Indian cuisine

Fast, affordable and best butter chicken ever. Sauce was fantastic and chicken is in narrow short strips not chunks. Appetizer tray was all fried food which I wish we had known because we would have passed on that. Adjustable spice scale of 1 to 5 is appreciated!

We have been wanting to come here during road trips but it hasn't worked out because like a lot of Indian restaurants, they close at 2:30 and open again for dinner. We made it there at 2:00 and were able to enjoy lunch. I had the chicken biryani and husband had the butter chicken and some naan. Everything was very flavorful and plentiful. We had plenty to take home for another meal. I served it at home to my Nepali son-in-law and he loved it and that says a lot! Staff that were there were very accomodating and kind. What got me was that in the womens bathroom was all this baking soda around the edges of the room indicating that they have an insect problem. The entire vibe of the restaurant screams that they need a major renovation - it's just on the tired and cluttered side, stuff piled up here and there and dirt build-up.

Masala Chai was really good. Loved the meat samosa made with ground lamb! The chicken tikka masala was salty and my husand said the goat curry (a special for today) had no real taste. The peshwari naan was okay but the bread had a pizza dough taste to it.

I had the lamb Marsala and it was one of the tastiest meals I have had at a restaurant in a long time ! I highly recommend the buttery homemade naan bread to have with your meal!

None of their food have any taste from India, they should change the name to taste of Nepal. They serve fried chicken in the name of tandoori chicken. The butter chicken and paneer masala both had same spices.

We were driving to Huntsville AL and decided to find a place for dinner and Taste of India was only half a mile off the highway, the reviews were good so we went, Food was delicious, people were very nice polite and friendly. We really enjoyed everything ! I highly recommend it.

We checked the area of our hotel for a place nearby to have dinner and found the Taste of India tucked away in a shopping plaza. Based on a recommendation from other guests at the restaurant and online, I ordered the Butter Chicken, which happened to be the chef’s special that evening. Excellent choice. And, the garlic naan was fresh and delicious. As was my Mango lassi. While not a large place, it was pleasantly decorated and the service was friendly. Hit the spot for a change of pace when passing though Harrisonburg.

The food was okay same sauce in the paneer and the chicken too much cream in the sauces the bread was good!

We ordered food online and smosas are stale, they are smelling so bad like a trash. I am surprised they have the audicity to send stale foul smelling food. I didnt even tried rest of the food

Tandoori Fish and Chiken Tikka in starters are nice. Paneer Tikka masala is a must try, chicken curry is moderately ok, lamb pasande is creamy gravy and taste is good. Kadhai lamb is chilli (not spicy). Chiken, keema and onion kulcha is very nice and must try.

This is the greatest option if you're craving Indian food. Although I've tasted Naan elsewhere, this was the greatest garlic naan I've ever had. Samosa and chutney made the ideal starter. Dal Tadka cannot be expressed in words.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had with attentive and quality service.

I have tried both Taste of India and Taj of India downtown and have gone to many Indian restaurants ranging from Michelin star Indian food to the streets of Mumbai. Here are my thoughts. The food was ok, nothing crazy, nothing unexpected, it is as it should be for a restaurant of this price level. The service however is sub par even for an Indian restaurant. I've noticed this to be a trend among Indian restaurants nationwide that has caused Indian food to turn into take out food like Chinese food. It's because of the lackluster service provided by the waiters. When I first ordered my food, the restaurant was not particularly busy with people dining in, but they were busy with online orders. The staff appeared to be rude with the people from online delivery services. One person even waited 30 min and eventually left with others getting upset. I came in for dine in, and while I was waiting, there was huge cockroach on the wall right next to the table! Not something you want to see while dining in. I noticed the table and chairs between both Indian restaurants in Harrisonburg were similar. If one or the other wanted to really make themselves distinct, at least the interior would be different. Definitely not modern as it should be. Taste of India really should try to exterminate their cockroachs, fix their service, and upgrade their interior. Add some TVs with Bollywood dances, Indian bollywood music overhead, upgrade to more classy dining tables, maybe some traditional or historic Indian art on the walls, the possibility for better interior is endless. As for now, I will be looking elsewhere for my Indian food cravings.

I haven't been here since 2021, I love their food and warmth the female owner always has for all her customers that I've seen including my family and I. I miss their buffet and understand why they no longer have one but the food there is still wonderful.

Taste of India is one of my top 3 favorite fine dining restaurants in Harrisonburg! Sita and the owner always make me feel welcome, and have made my Lamb Saag perfect at least 25 times since December 2019. I am looking forward to seeing their lunch buffet open back up now that President Biden has officially declared the pandemic is over.

I ordered the chicken Sambusa, but when I eat it, one of them is just vege Sambusa, second time when I visit I told the person on the register, she doesn’t respond, just ignore me, they don’t really care customers feedback.
