8/27/24 review. The food dishes are large portions and it's pretty tasty too. We came in for the Green Chili Chicken Fried Rice but they didn't have any green chili. So we ordered the Garlic Chicken and Kung Pao Beef. They were both a bit on the sweet side, so if you like the sweeter side of Chinese food you'll love it. Don't let the outside appearance of the building scare you. Do go in. The owner is a sweet lady that likes to visit with you.

Tiny, dingey little hole in the wall. GREAT food!! I was INCREDIBLY surprised by the quality, portion, and price!! The old lay who owns the place is a classic old-school California-Chinese immigrant. For a tiny out of the way unspuspecting place, I can't say enough good about it. $9.95 lunch special was man-sized filling portion of pork Lo Mein with a hige scoop of fried rice plus a small eggroll and fried wonton. Will be my lunch stop of choice when in Grants. Grabbed a Boba Tea to go as well.

LOVE this place. The food is so fresh and tasty!!! The lady working there is so friendly and sweet. Highly recommend. Not a ton of seating but well worth the trip

What food they serve !!!! Stop here first if you want fantastic food that is served fresh and hot. The tiny older woman is super friendly and does a fantastic job. Her husband cooks the food. What a wonderful place to eat great food for a good price !!!

A couple days ago I went back there for the first time in over a decade. It's just as delicious as I remember! Best Chinese restaurant in Grants AND Gallup.

My husband and I get take out every time we are in Grants. Food is fresh and homemade. We got some surprise extra treats with our lunch. Today it was friend wontons and I think donuts with some kind of fruit inside and sesame seeds. They were great. The rose boba tea is amazing. Thank you

My absolute favorite place to eat in Grants! HUGE portions, clean interior with clean decor, and amazingly cheap lunch deals. They offer complimentary appetizers, typically a spring roll, a pork wonton and sweet and sour sauce, one for each diner. Besides that, they also have complimentary desserts! Usually it's battered, fried and glazed apple chunks with sesame seeds, but for summer it seems they're doing watermelon slices, which is another great, refreshing way to end a meal. My favorite meal is the mongolian beef lunch special. $6 for a huge portion of beef with a huge side of fried or steamed rice. 2024 Update: This place only gets better and better! Now they serve specialty mixed tea drinks with toppings like boba and egg pudding. Coconut tea with egg pudding is a new fav.

Large portions and great service. The owner is such a sweet lady and had tons of conversation for us. The building itself doesn’t do justice for what’s inside. Definitely need to update their signage, I almost passed it. Parking is in the back. I will very likely swing in again the next time I’m passing through.

This is a hidden gem young couple with child preparing food . Ours was carry out. Last visit just as good . The food was hot and fresh…They need some advertisement and new signs…

I was searching for a place where I could get a big plate of vegetables with some protein, and I found it here. The lunch special servings are very generous. A diner next to me said their soup was fabulous, and I got a slice of watermelon for dessert. My broccoli and shrimp dish was fresh, and the broccoli was bright green and the right amount of crisp. The meal was just what I wanted, and the staff were very welcoming.

While the portions are indeed enormous, it's a good thing I wasn't very hungry. Rice was dry, tea was tepid, kung pao beef was .. not good. There is no signage outside other than a "lunch special" and "parking" arrow next to a nondescript building. I didn't even know this was Chinese until opening the door. Service was speedy, though.

The portion on the lunch special is unbelievable and the flavor of this broccoli chicken has a nice garlicky edge to it. The texture of the broccoli was that perfect blend of crunchy and soft that only the best restaurants pull off. The chicken was so tender, it melted in my mouth. There's a hint of white pepper in this dish that hits right at the end and makes it go from a 9 to a solid 10/10. All without being overly salty. The chicken wontons and veggie egg rolls that come with the lunch are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and I'm glad they only gave us one of each because I would've eaten a whole plate. My 75 year old vegetarian friend came with me this time. I asked them if they could make a veggie version of Kung Pao Chicken and cook the veggies more to make sure they're soft. They accommodated him without any fuss and the dish was so delicious he couldn't stop telling me about it. I kept saying, "I know, mine's incredible too." XD He and I were struggling not to drink all the jasmine tea they gave us. I've ordered sweet and sour chicken here as well as the lo mein. Both were stellar. The mother of the owner can be a bit hard to understand, but she is very patient and fun to talk to. She's very kind and proud of how good the food is. It's adorable. Patience with her is thoroughly rewarded. They always give you great fresh fruit for dessert. This time, it was perfectly ripe slices of watermelon. It's no wonder this is one of my favorite restaurants in the entire state.

Stopped by this evening. Had the Crispy Noodles, Excellent.

Despite everything telling you to keep driving, it’s a nice quiet clean place inside with a super friendly staff and HUGE tasty portions. Wife and I were passing through and decided to stop in and we are glad we did. Food came out fresh off the stove and hot as could be. Highly recommend.

Trust me, ignore the exterior that doesn’t have curb appeal, but the food is fantastic and huge portion! We each ordered Orange Chicken and one order would easily be enough for two people to share. It was delicious! The owner was very nice and visited with us for a few minutes. I completely recommend and would definitely go again if ever I’m the area again.

I wish we could have eaten there, but we got there over an hour before they closed and were told “we are out of food!” We thought she was joking, but sadly no. I’ve never heard of a restaurant running out of food

I use to work for these people and they are not to clean in the kitchen no glaves in use plus they are thieves they took my i phone and we had to buy it back if extortion is teh way they make money i suggest not eating at this resturant

This place is a diamond in the rough. This Chinese restaurant is great! Dine in and feel the love and the great food. Take out is also available. One of my Favorites in Grants New Mexico!!!

Absolutely the best green chile chicken fried rice. This chef is very creative in his cooking. Portions are more than enough. Spicy garlic shrimp was Fabulous. Lo mein was amazing. Will be back.

This is my favorite restaurant in town. And they are nice and fun. Takeouts and dine in is great. My favorite food there is the cheese wontons.

The food was absolutely amazing and very inexpensive! We both bordered just entrees, but also received egg drop soup, an appetizer, fried apple dessert and fortune cookies for no additional charge. The portions were huge and came with a beautiful vegetable garnish. The service was friendly and quick, and the owners are delightful!

Now this has the best sweet n sour shrimp, so says my hubby. The owners are sweet people. They like to share time with customers. All i have to say is YUMMY!!!

The outside of this little place isn't the most upscale... but wow the food was wonderful. And you couldn't get nicer, more friendly people. They started by bringing us bowls of really flavorful egg drop and corn soup; never had quite that combination before but it was delicious. Also a couple of crispy spring rolls and fried wontons. Then the main dishes! Huge servings, beautifully cooked, with delicately cut "flowers" made of carrot and zucchini. Sweet and Sour Shrimp; lots of lightly battered LARGE shrimp, in a fruity sauce, with crispy peppers, onions, carrots, and pineapple. Mixed Vegetables with Beef; a platter piled high with tender beef, baby corn, peppers, bean sprouts, squash, pea pods... and not swimming in "gravy." Even the steamed rice (which comes with the dishes) was great; not sticky, with good body, a little chewy, just right. Final treat (after we had eaten way too much to appreciate them!) were two little fried honey dumplings. Next time we come this way, we will make a special effort to stay overnight in Grants and visit here again. (They are closed on Sundays and some holidays, so we'll make sure to phone first I think!)

We ate there for the first time on Valentines day. Look past the restaurant decor - the food is awesome! Huge portions for the price - while there wasn't combos per say, but we brought home enough leftovers to each four more meals! This is our number 1 restaurant in Grants!

Food is always "tasty" when they are open for business. Our random trips thru town have been all misses because they have been closed. They'll have a friendly sign up letting you know. I'm looking forward to my go to of chicken fried rice!!!

Amazing place to eat. Definitely a hidden gem. My family has been eating here but only recently suggested I eat here. Didn't know that the portions were huge. My boyfriend and I ate here today for dinner for the first time. We ordered the wonton and hot and sour soup thinking it would come in a small bowl. Not the case here, they brought out two big bowls, each with a ladle and two smaller bowls. We ordered the house chow mein and the sweet and sour pork came with rice. Wow they came in a huge mountain, right off the stove and piping hot. Food was so delicious that I kept burning my mouth as I ate. The staff were friendly, and the owner would check up on her customers. Had a nice conversation with her. Definitely will come back. Only problem is the limited parking but so worth it.

We arrived in Grants late . When we found this Chinese restaurant it was almost closing time. But they welcomed us to come in and eat. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. We will go there again next time we are in Grants.

Food is affordable, they serve big family servings. Some dishes come with brown or white rice. They do take call in orders. Try the green chili chicken fried rice!!

This is one of my favorite places to get take-out. Love the owner. She's a sweet lady. I enjoy the environment. Doesn't look like much outside, but inside is cozy and nice. Prices are high, but you get a giant plate of food that lasts me several days afterwards. Never had an issue with the service or time. Always left with a happy mind and full belly.

Food is good and always hot and fresh . Ever here of a place called ABC Mandarin in Roy Utah ? Same chef same great service . If you are traveling through Grants NM. And get a hankering for some great Asian food this is a must visit. Don't let the small town appeal change your mind. Most items on this menu are around 6 bucks for lunch and 10 bucks for dinner. My recommendation is the TK sizzle for those who enjoy the spicy side of life

You will never go wrong going here. There servings can feed three people. They are delicious. And, you will never meet kinder owners who really care about their customers.

This is an absolute hole in the wall. You are basically eating in what feels like it was once someone's living room. Nothing to write home about on the decor, or furnishings and a section of the dining area is quite literally a storage and prep area for silverware, fortune cookies, etc.. HOWEVER... I have to say that this is probably the best Chinese food I have eaten in a LOOOONG TIME. The food is fresh. The servings sizes are massive. And everything is just... Well... TASTY. Oh... And you are basically guaranteed a full stomach for lass that $10, drink included. Pleasantly surprised with this place.

We had dinner here in Mid June, 2019, based only on reviews that we had seen on line. You can easily drive past the restaurant, as it has not "curb appeal", but the food us pretty good, although very spicy. My wife ordered the Mongolian Chicken but it was too spicy to eat. The owner brought a water bowl to "rinse down" the spice but it didn't help much. I had magnificent Shrimp in Lobster Sauce with about 1 dozen shrimp in the mix. We are not used to "Texas-Chinese Food', so order carefully when it comes to spices.

Hubby had Mongolian beef and I had lemon chicken. Beef was cooked with zucchini instead of onions but beef was tender and quite a zing to it. Lemon chicken was good but the sauce was a bit sweet. A little tray of appetizers arrived first, two tiny spring rolls and two fried wonton? Not sure what they were but sure delicious. The outside looks pretty run down but the inside is fine and the owner is a delightful lady

I have had a lot of Chinese food but this place has a very unique feature - New Mexican Chinese food. The owners adapted some Chinese dishes to feature the famous green chili of New Mexico. The food here is delicious. The female owner is friendly and makes you feel welcome and at home. The food here is seasoned well and one dish can feed two hungry people.
