Food was good, wasn’t expecting to find such authentic Thai food in LA. Staff was friendly and prices are reasonable. Highly recommend to order a few dishes to share in order to try a variety. Pad Thai taste good and authentic, although a little on the sweeter side. Satay and sauce was decent, but will be even better if the sauce had crushed peanuts Basil Pork (Pad Kra Pow) was generous and tasted authentic too

Beef fried rice is super delicious! Had it for two dinners 👍

Went on my 30min lunch to pick up my food but once there we decided to just eat at the location. Didn’t think it would be an issue to be honest but unfortunately for the cook it was and came to our table to let us know that his location is not a “fast food restaurant” and it wasn’t okay for us to eat there with our to-go boxes. 1. He should humble himself a bit 2. No one said it was a fast food joint 3. He should learn how to speak with his customers and have better manners. Ive been coming here every Monday for the past 2 years with our Doctors from our office and was never treated that way. He honestly made me feel very uncomfortable and as if I had done something wrong. And was grabbing my food without my authorization to, until my friend said to just bring us the plates so we can plate it ourselves. He could’ve handled the situation better and just offered to plate our food for us instead of saying unnecessary comments like he did.

Very delicious and authentic Thai food!

Ordered the Green Curry, a side of rice, lemonade, and Mango Sticky Rice. The Green Curry tasted amazing and had a good balance of spice-to-flavor. My only gripe for that dish is that it doesn't come with rice, so I had to order a side of rice to go with my curry. Other than that, the lemonade was refreshing and the Mango Sticky Rice

Such a cute little authentic Thai restaurant. The pad woon sen was so delicious wow!!!!! and service was super great. The only thing that was meh was the mojito… but everything else was amazing

I understand that inflation has been impacting us all, but charging customers for a side of rice? Really? Mediocre food quality for how expensive meals are. Had a disappointing experience on my first visit and won’t be returning.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants. It was near my last apartment. Convenient. Good parking. Place is small but food and ambience made up for the size. Friendly Staff.

The food is the star of this show ladies and gentlemen. We had Pad Thai and Penang Curry(medium spice). The food was fantastic. The location is under construction so it’s a little hard to get at. But it’s definitely worth the effort. It’s like a 4.6 for sure. I don’t know why google won’t just let us dial the number in.

I started reading the recommendations here and went to try it and it was delicious, I tried a super delicious rib.

I tried the Spicy Eggplant Lunch Special at Tawanna Thai, which comes with gyoza, a good portion of white rice, and the spicy eggplant. It's a flavorful dish with a lovely basil aroma, and it's affordable despite the smaller portion size. However, I should mention that the environment was a bit noisy, with constant stomping noise coming from upstairs.

Food was great, happy hour drinks are cheap, the music was relaxing and enjoyable. FIVE STARS!

When I tell you I’m a curry snob… I am Their yellow curry and red curry are the PERFECT CREAMY BALANCE. It’s not watery at all. Not overly spicy. I got their Vietnamese shrimp roll with peanut sauce and I’m honestly SO HAPPY. Food was BOMB

After a classic Saturday night debate on where we should eat. We decided to go to Tawanna. I was craving some Green Curry the stuff I was living off in Thailand. Tawanna definitely did not disappoint service was awesome and really gave me all I was looking for. Highly recommend.

Wasn't my favorite. Ordered non spicy food because of my stomach problems, and it was so spicy i couldn't eat it. The server seemed nice at first, and then not anymore? At least the place was nice, but i wouldn't recommend it.

I've never really had a bad experience at Tawanna. I've been coming here for lunch for around two years now semi frequently. The lunch special is very reasonably priced at 12 dollars with a good portioned main, a large side of rice, and a salad with a very nice sauce. The portion for me at least is just right and the service has always been quick for me. For a strip mall restaurant the interior is quite nice and feels a lot higher class when compared to most restaurants of its size. I've not been here for dinner so I can't comment on that, but I do recommend checking it out If you're looking for a good meal. I personally really like the curry or the orange chicken. Keep up the good work.

This was my first time in an authentic Indian restaurant, such a treat! The staff was very nice and the food was great!

Second time I went there the person taking my order was unfriendly, I felt like I was bothering her. Therefore, I had to lower my five star to three star.

The service was quick and friendly. They give you decent portions with moderate prices. I ordered the Thai Beef salad with rice on the side which I enjoyed. The beef was very tender. The eat in portion was much larger than when I ordered the same dish as takeout.

Top recommendation - fresh lemonade and $9.50 lunch special. In 2022, the prices are up by two dollars.

Best whole in the wall, neighborhood Thai ever! We went to a concert at the Saban Theater and needed a quick, good food place that wasn’t high end and we stumbled upon this place which ended up making our entire night! The service was amazing, the food was excellent, and they overheard us telling my little cousin who was turning 13 “happy birthday!” so they brought us out a little personal cheesecake slice with a candle. Which I don’t think they normally do, they were just trying to enhance our family night out, as they sure did!! Thank you all staff, we can’t wait to return :)

I had a really nice lunch here at Tawanna. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki lunch special and a small Tom Yum soup. The small soup was actually huge! I was really surprised that it was so big. Luckily it tasted great. The chicken teriyaki was also very good. Service was fast and friendly. I appreciated that they required proof of vaccination for everyone who ate there. Will definitely go back again when I’m in the area.

An enjoyable experience overall. Understated lighting makes for a cosy experience suitable for sit down dinners and quiet conversation. The staff is friendly, polite and welcoming. Food is fairly priced, tasty; with some pleasant surprises, and matches up with what’s expected for a Thai restaurant. Menus are scanned, which works as long as you’ve got data for it. Portions are good for sharing with friends and family, and the selection of beverages is fair. In all, a worthwhile place to visit if you’re looking for good dinner.

Nos quedamos cerca del hotel Wilshire Crest e probamos este restaurante. La comida era deliciosa, tan fresca y bellamente presentada. El personal es muy amable y servicial. Nos gustó tanto que hicimos una segunda visita durante nuestra estancia y el servicio me pareció muy bueno.

This is a very nice cozy, upscale Thai restaurant. It is located in the small shopping center on Wilshire about equidistant between Fairfax and La Cienega. I really liked the decor featuring Thai sculptures. I had the salmon salad and the spicy Andamon seafood entree(consisting of mussels, fish, shrimp, squid in a spicy broth with spinach leaves and red, green peppers). Both were superb tasting. The portions were large with alot of seafood meat. Service was also excellent-the waitress was very friendly and attentive as was the manager. The orders were out in less than 15 minutes. They also had my favorite Thai Beer-Singha ... which went great with the seafood entree. They have a very extensive menu and I plan to be back to try out more as I had a great time.

While staying at the Wilshire Crest Hotel, I twice had delivery from tawanna Thai, and the food was simply amazing. Everything was prepared with such care and quality of ingredients. I had their Tom Ka soup, and it was the best Tom Ka I have ever eaten, and I've traveled all over Asia, including Thailand, and was such a nice, coconut milk thickened soup, just delicious. I also ordered shu mai and it was delicious. The Pad Thai is wonderful, and the serving is huge. They also have great salads--their House Salad is only $5.95 and is a mix green with cucs and tomatoes with a delicious homemade ginger dressing. This salad is huge, and for under six bucks. If you are visiting or live anywhere around this restaurant, do yourself a favor and order from tawanna Thai. By the way, the people working there are very nice, and the delivery very fast.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Service was fast. Food was tasty and healthy. The portions were fair for the price. The atmosphere was OK for a quick lunch in a strip mall.

Stopped here based on Trip Advisor showing it close to LACMA. They have a lunch special menu which comes with a salad and one gyoza with the meal. I had the red curry tofu. It was perfect. My boyfriend ordered the Chinese chicken salad based on another diner having ordered it. It had a lot of chicken and the dressing was superb. Would go back and try the pad Thai and and drunken noodles, the table next to us ordered these and they looked delicious.

Wir waren einmal zum Mittag- und einmal zum Abendessen hier: tolles Essen, schnelle und freundliche Bedienung - so muss das sein. Gut, die Einrichtung ist sehr einfach, fast spartanisch, aber das Essen wirklich reichlich und sehr thailändisch - wir würden sofort wieder hingehen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist für L.A. sehr gut, also insgesamt eine klare 5-Punkte-Bewertung.

I had lunch here with a colleague and was very impressed. The drunkard noodles with chicken were great with just the right kick. The service was friendly and very prompt. I highly recommend this small Thai restaurant.

We were staying at the hotel Wilshire across the street and decided to try this low-key restaurant in a mini strip mall area at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Crescent Heights and boy were we pleasantly surprised!! While we ordered our favorites the drunken noodles and green curry while we were about to order the sticky rice with mango the server who was awesome said he would not serve us the mango because it was not as sweet as it should be so instead served us coconut ice cream over green sticky rice which was very tasty the prices here are fairly reasonable and the portions are fairly generous but if you get our server who was wonderful the experience is priceless!

I had the Pad woo sen and it was delicious. Two of the people of our party had the pad thai, which I found to be overly sweet and sticky. The other two people in our party seemed to enjoy their food. The restaurant appeared clean, the service was nice, the price was right. We would go again.

This place is close to the museums, so I've eaten here a number of times. The food is tasty, the kitchen and bathroom are clean, the decor is spare and simple. Noodles soups are flavorful and are a generous portion for the cost. Entrees and soups are $7-11. My favorite dishes are the Vietnamese spring rolls with tofu - like a salad rolled up in a large rice noodle - and the yellow curry. The curry has a bit of a bite, but I would say it is mild. It's almost like a soup, but not as generous of a portion as the noodle soups. The service is pleasant but unusually slow, even when there are few patrons in the restaurant.

Went to this restaurant on a couple occasions. Once for lunch and again for dinner. Lunch was not so good or it is what I'd ordered. Dinner was decent - like any other Thai restaurant. I was promptly seated. It seems that at this restaurant you do not get served water unless you order your meal. On both occasions, the waitress served water only after I ordered my meal. Dinner had generous portions of fried rice - good for two. Eggrolls were pretty good as well. There isn't much room in the restaurant, but owners have managed to create enough ambiance and cozy feel - except that the tables are too close to each other to have any personal conversation. I'd definitely go to this place again.
