Always loved Teff, the move to the new located made them central to Stamford where they belong. Their food is a wonderful freshness from the same old that is frequent downtown. The new located is beautiful with ample room and seating. The servers were sweet, and we look forward to going back.

Came here with my husband for our wedding anniversary. I had been wanting to come for a while and was so excited when it finally reopened. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the space was beautiful. I plan to come back again. I would recommend dimming the overhead lighting to give it a more intimate vibe. Nit a big deal at all, but just an observation.

So glad this place opened up downtown!! Excellent food and service. I had time to check this out solo last weekend and hung out at the bar. Got the Shikorina cocktail (balanced, rum-based, passion-fruit forward) and the vegan solo sampler. Nick was a sweet and very attentive bartender. I can't wait to head back here with friends and explore the rest of this delicious, vegan-friendly menu.

Lots of vegan options. Adds diversity to restaurant choices to the area! Pretty good main and appetizers (we got dips). The AC was too cold though.

This was good food. A nice introduction and exploration of Ethiopian/Eritrean cuisine. I really really enjoyed it. The curries were good. The coffee was exquisite (so so good). The ambience is boisterous and is like a large extended family dining experience. My family and I were glad we went.

Had an absolutely amazing first type experience at Teff on 6/29. I’ve been wanting to go to Teff for a while and was happy they finally reopened! The food was so good - I got the meat testing menu for 1 and everything was good. Not a single miss. The cocktail my friend had was delicious-I’ll be getting it next time! Our server Ricardo was helpful and attentive. He explained the menu to us and gave some great recommendations. Sam was also great and added to our experience. Teff will be a new regular spot for us!

Another gem in downtown Stamford. Teff may not be visible immediately but it's next to Rivera Maya. You will experience different flavor profiles in Teff. Goat dish (Tel Wat) and Dorho Wat (spicy chicken) are definitely worth trying. We ordered Tasting for 2 and one goat stew and it was sufficient for 5 people. Honey wine is slightly more on the sweeter side. The ambience was nice and welcoming though we felt a bit on the colder side. Definitely worth trying

Teff is my favorite restaurant in Stamford. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious! I've tried a couple of the meat dishes and almost all of the vegan sides and have never been disappointed by a dish here.

The best Ethiopian food around. The spices were incredible! We ordered a few cocktails and they were so tasty and unique. Cannot wait to return.

Teff is hands down our favorite restaurant in Stamford and has been for many years. We went to the re-opening in the new location. It was what can only be described as fantastic. Beautiful, open space. Incredible service. And the best part: the food. We are grateful to have access to a vibrant, family-owned business so close by. If you are a Connecticut local or just passing by, please consider visiting Teff. You won't be disappointed.

Literally my favorite place!! I was so excited to go back today at their new location after not having Ethiopian food for nearly a year. The new location right in the heart of downtown is beautiful and has ample parking available. The inside is updated and very welcoming. I would be remiss if I didn’t speak on the delicious food- which has not changed in flavor since moving locations. You can feel the love poured in to the food. I will say it’s the consistency of the taste in food and the great service we always receive from server Ricardo. Elsa is always so kind and polite- making herself available to always interact with her customers. There is also something about having family work together in a restaurant that brings such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Lastly, I will say that if multiples spices, curry and stews is not your thing this might not be the place for you. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but after reading some of the negative reviews below and being a long time customer of this establishment I find the allegations extremely hard to swallow! Teff you have found your way to my heart through my belly ❤️ Ps. Please don’t ever leave us again!

Wonderful experience. We came on reopening night. While the staff are still settling into the new place, they overcompensated in friendliness and boy the food was soooo delicious. Highly recommended and would come back any time!

What can I say? One of my favorite places to eat of all time. From the authenticity of the food and ingredients, to the warmness of the family who makes it possible. Down to the staff, the servers who have always treated me with kindness, respect, and sincere friendliness. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Ethiopian or Eritrean cuisine.

I hardly ever review anything but I had to make an exception for the is place. I went all the way to Ethiopia and ate the food there and let me tell you Teff is on par if not better then many places there. I’m not gonna bore you with the details of the perfect balances of spice and flavor. Or with the facts that the everything thing is always fresh and the texture is always scrumptious and the injera is most and a bit tart. Okay now I’m getting a bit extra but to conclude I applaud the consistency of this restaurant and it’s ability always be friendly and crank out crazy good Ethiopian food… on a personal note the tumtumo is my favorite as well as the shiro (must haves)

I love everything about this restaurant

First time eating Ethiopian food. It will not be my last. The vegan sampler was amazing. The bread used to eat with, even better. Fresh, healthy and obviously tasty, one of the best dining experiences, in recent memory.

I was recommended this place and so glad I tried it! The food was absolutely delicious. The spices were brought from Ethiopia to flavor the tasty dishes and days are devoted to making the wonderful meals and Ethiopian wine that we thoroughly enjoyed. I can’t end this review without thanking my wonderful host Asmeret who did a phenomenal job explaining the meals, drinks and the culture with my husband and I. Asmeret was passionate about the business and you can tell that their family runs this business with love. I am looking forward to returning to Teff and recommend this place to anyone in search of delicious Ethiopian food like they’ve never had before! I also recommend this place to anyone who loves leaving restaurants with leftovers. The portion sizes are nice and large, the prices were very reasonable and my leftovers were just as amazing as when I had the meal at the restaurant.

I love this restaurant! The food is amazing and we always leave planning our next visit. The vegetarian dishes are so full of flavor and an excellent choice is you are vegetarian or are not (I am not and these options are superb for omnivores such as myself 😊). The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the different options available. Whenever I am in the area, this is where I want to go for food. I’ve made myself hungry writing this and now I am thinking about my next visit!

I moved to Stamford about 6 years ago and in that time I've had the pleasure of eating at Teff at least half a dozen times. Every time has been a picture of perfection - excellent food, great service and good prices. I love Ethiopian food and Teff does it up right 10/10 would eat again!

Elsa - I am glad that you are moving and your waiter was not the problem it was you and your tone. Had you not called back barking at me as if I were a child and you in need of a kennel, I would have returned and continued with the purchase. As I mentioned patience is key, but not a virtue that everyone was gifted with. The gift card was already used, as I purchased it for a friend and I was stating that had I known how difficult the parking was I would not have done so. If you would still like to reaccredit a used gift card I can connect with you via email. Elsa I am not denoting the culture of poverty, otherwise I would not have chosen to patron, but I would be remiss if I failed to speak the truth for fellow patrons and sadly you refuse to do so concerning this fact. Amazing both in person and for takeout! We had dinner at Teff last night and were blown away. I’ve had Ethiopian many times before in other cities, and this place was amazing! The service was as good as the food. The owner even saw us looking for a parking spot on the street and moved his car for us. (They do not have their own parking - it’s all on street). We had meat for two (siga aletcha & doro wat) and vegan tasting for one. We chose seven different vegan sides. Our favorite vegan side was the shiro, but all were very good! Next time I’d skip the beets, as they’re really just cooked beets. I’d also skip the mushrooms/infusion tibs that you have to pay extra for. I didn’t think they were worth the extra cost, even though it’s not much! The injera was delicious, we had to ask for extra because it was so good! And don’t miss the mes (honey wine). It was delicious! Can’t wait to come back!

What a wonderful find in Stamford. We wanted to try it because my daughter is doing a project on Ethiopia in school. It is warm, smells delicious when you walk in, service was wonderful, and the food and the flavors were amazing! The wait staff were so kind to my daughter as they knew she was studying Ethiopia, and the father in the family wrote her name in traditional script. We can't wait to go back and hope more people find out about it.

Ok. Parking was tricky. But honestly I'm so glad we managed to park, because it was lovely! The honey wine! And the food was scrumptious. I was full but kept eating as there were such delicious things to try. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed. And the gentleman who served us was helpful and attentive and, well, it was the perfect way to start off our weekend!

First time at Teff and first time eating Ethiopian food. I love how they embrace the culture with pictures from Ethiopia. The food was delicious and the waiter was very kind and helpful. The hot tea was probably the best tea I’ve ever had. The aroma filled the air with the spices in the tea. Will definitely be back.

A very good Eritrean and Ethiopian restaurant. The menu does a good job of explaining the different items if you are not familiar with this cuisine. There are lots of options if you want a straight vegan meal. The hot spice level can range from the mild to the very hot. The wine and beer selection is small but decent. The staff is very attentive and helpful. You can request silverware if you like, but why would you? Half the fun is tearing off pieces of injera and eating with your fingers.

This place is amazing. It's like comfort food for me, never hurts my stomach and tastes amazing. The man who serves us all the time is amazing. He is always smiling and welcoming.

My friend and I were looking for a restaurant that was open past 9 PM in Stamford and I had heard about this awesome Ethiopian place. We squeaked in at about 9:10 and we were treated like royalty. The food was absolutely fantastic, the service was phenomenal, and I would definitely highly recommend this place and go back again. All of the flavors were great for the tasting menu for two. And we had enough leftover for each of us to have another meal. Hands-down fantastic restaurant!

My wife found this place doing a search for Ethiopian food in our area (Northern Westchester County). Teff, in Stamford, was a tiny bit of a hike for us, but worth the trip. It nice decor featuring blown-up photos of life in Ethiopia (and Eritria?). It was friendly/good service (the host was the chef's son). And kudos to his mom in the kitchen -- we enjoyed delicious, highly flavorful food (with reasonable portion sizes and prices). We look forward to going back!

I have tried one Ethiopian restaurant in New Haven and one in Brooklyn and Teff of Stamford is certainly my favorite! The service was outstanding. Very knowledgeable about the cuisine, had great recommendations, and always checked in as soon as the table needed more injera bread. I was impressed by the tea and coffee. It was a nice feature that it was served at a perfect drinking temperature so we didn't have to wait to enjoy. There were plenty of options for vegetarians and plenty for meat eaters. The food was very good! Only thing I did notice was a dish containing egg listed under the "vegan" section which makes me wonder if other non-vegan ingredients made it into those entrees such as milk or cheese.

We’ve tried so many different Ethiopian restaurants, on several continents even. Nothing comes close to Teff. We recommend it to everyone. The staff is so sweet, atmosphere and music on point and the food is to die for. Don’t sleep on this place!

We did the Vegan Tasting option with 4 different entrée dishes. All dishes were very nicely served in a platter. Mes wine was good. Dinich and Timtumo were my favorites. Injera was good but a little bit sour to my liking. Overall, food was very good, a very innovative approach to introduce a cuisine to food lovers with certain dietary choices.

Absolutely delicious, real food. The injera is a bit sour because it is SUPPOSED to be! It is real and fermented and FANTASTIC. The spicy foods are not extremely spicy, if you like spice at all then go for it.

Possibly the best Ethiopian restaurant outside Ethiopia. The food is superb, the servers are most attentive and well informed, pricing is right, and the husband and wife owners are a delight to visit with. Stamford, CT is lucky to have such an authentic restaurant. Must try!

We have been to Teff several times and it is always a treat! It is an Ethiopian restaurant owned by minority women. Mom is the chef, and daughter runs the front. Many vegan options and a few meat options. Everything is soooooo delicious!! Gluten free. We love this restaurant!

Food was very good but we accidentally calculated and wrote too much tip on the bill and when we asked the staff to hand us over the bill again so that we could adjust the amount they said the bill was “not there anymore” and they refused to give us the bill back so we could not correct the tip. However, through contacting Elsa, the problem with the tip could be solved abs they refunded us the amount. Elsa was very friendly and helpful in this. Thank you.

A divine vegan feast that I routinely drive an hour to get to, lol. The mushroom dish is incredible. Parking is usually a hassle, but you can always find a spot eventually.
