Best Mexican food in Baltimore. Amazing tamales!!

This place is the best you can eat. Anything you want is good. You’ll be happy after all. I love this place.

The attention and service were great, but the food and drinks were average at best. One of the juices they offer was so old and bad it was nearly fermenting.

I placed an order through the Uber eats app. They debited an amount from my card for three items, however one of the products did not arrive, I did the corresponding process by attaching evidence of the amount charged and requesting a refund of the money and they did not do so.

Food- Not worth it. No flavor and small portions Service- Unless your at the bar they don’t pay you no mind Restaurant- Could use remodeling NO STARS DO NOT DESERVE THEM but Google needs at least a star😒

Really went down hill. I guess if you don't tip enough on carry-out they do stuff like put shrimp with shells on in your burrito, or put plastic in your food . When I came back to pick up suddenly everyone has a bad attitude giving me like and then I find this in my food.

This restaurant is a scam, they charge a lot for a little bit of burnt food with no taste, they are thieves, I don't recommend it to anyone and anyone who goes to eat one time, I can swear they won't come back, a real disappointment 3 years after, if it was another level but today what they are doing to the client is a robbery

Very bad service, the waitresses seem like you ask them for free food, they serve very poorly, I was a waitress and I know how the customer is treated and the tip is earned "be careful." They focus more on the men at the bar and that's great and that's what makes them more money, but then they go to work at a bar, not a family restaurant where they only want to never go again.

Every time I go the food is somehow even better than the last! I’ve gotten chicken, beef, and seafood here and I’ve never been disappointed. Good food, good service, good prices and good atmosphere. One of my favorite spots in the city.

I ordered a meat soup and received a soup with another type of meat, I told the waitress and she said I had ordered the right thing. Then the manager came over and told me the same thing that it was beef. I showed her the bones that were in the soup and they were lamb and she responded, that's what we use all the time and no one has ever complained, I refuse to eat it, I responded well, I don't eat that type of meat, so she told me. He took it away with the other food that was already on the table and went to the kitchen, then the waiter brought me the check with everything I had ordered and had not eaten. I asked her why they were charging me for it and she responded sir you have to pay or I will call the police. You ordered it and even though you didn't eat it you still have to pay, you don't like it, that's not our problem, I will never go to that place again, Pedí una sopa de carne y recibí una sopa con otro tipo de carne, le dije a la mesera y ella dijo que había pedido lo correcto. Entonces el gerente se acercó y me dijo lo mismo que era carne de res. Le mostré los huesos que había en la sopa y eran de cordero y ella respondió, eso es lo que usamos todo el tiempo y nunca nadie se ha quejado , me niego a comerlo le respondi pues yo no Como ese tipo de carne ,entonces ella me lo quitó con la otra comida que estaba ya en la mesa y c fue a la cocina , luego el camarero me trajo el cheque con todo lo que avia pedido y no avia comido. Le pregunté por qué me estaban cobrando por ello y ella respondió señor, tiene que pagar o llamaré a la policía. Lo pediste y aunque no lo comiste todavía tienes que pagar no t gusto ese no es nuestro problema , nunca volvere a ir a ese lugar ,

It has been updated, both decor and the menu. It is less Mexican, and more Central American cuisine. I miss the Mexican, but the enchiladas I had were delicious.

Unexpected gem in the city. We had a large group of 12 and wanted to find a good spot to eat. We arrived right before 10pm (google said they closed at 11pm) and the server let us know they close the kitchen in 10 minutes. However, the server and chef rolled up their sleeves and allowed us to stay. Overall, it was a great experience. Service was amazing, the food was really good. We were able to have a memorable night with family visiting from all over thanks to this server and the chef. I highly recommend to others.

I walked in this restaurant sat down and was given the menu then after almost 20 minutes the waitress showed up to take my order, service is not the best and food is kinda ok a little too pricey for what you get . And the music was too loud with dirty words song . Not recommended 👎🏻

Excellent place in downtown. We went there for dinner and the service was great. Margaritas were just amazing. It's very authentic and not like a tex-mex restaurant. Few veggie options, but very good. Burritos and Fajitas were excellent.

Stopped by this spot on a early Friday date night. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Rockstar margaritas and the food was filling and super yummy! Luckily we got there before the music got too crazy loud, but overall a very chill spot and when in the area would totally come back. Thanks!

La comida esta buena pero me cobraron mucho se aprovechó la mesera el platiilo valía 12.95 y me cobró 16 y ni el recibo me dio llegue a mi casa sólo un poquito de comida. No recomiendo este lugar son demasiadas de aprovechados

Food was good, flavorful and homemade. However, the chips were stale, salsa like watered down tomato juice, and gratuity was automatically added as we had 5 people. I don't mind tipping for certain party sizes but an infant should not count (we had 3 adults, a 3 year old, and a 5 month old). Service did not warrant the automatic 18%

Real Mexican food and the best! They're extremely consistent and staff is kind. Favorite plate to get is parrillada which is a smorgasbord of meats; steak; chicken, pork, sausage, and shrimp with sides to make your own tacos. Comes out in an exciting sizzling display! More than enough food and better than any "authentic" restaurant in Baltimore.

Good service and everyone was bery friendly

Family owned and operated. The owners have been in the restaurant business for over 25 years, so they know how to pick quality meat, seafood and chicken. The food tastes authentic to it's culture. There is a bar and large dining area for larger seating or a smaller section for a more intimate experience. The margaritas are delicious! They have Modelo, Heinkein and of course Corona at the bar. They have most rail and top shelf liquors too. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want a homemade meal away from home.

Twice our food has arrived lukewarm after taking longer to prepare than it should have. We're talking quesadillas in a Mexican restaurant. And we only got our food after repeatedly asking for it. On the plus side the taste has always been good.

This place was amazing and everything we were looking for. I felt it when I walked in the door, "authenticity" from the welcoming hosts, the smiling guests, the decor, the music...and then the food blew me away. My husband is from LA and wanted me to get a feel of what to expect when we move there next month and OMG....I wanted to grab a waitress and dance!!! We ordered the chicken enchiladas and a beef burrito and they were both like fireworks to my taste buds. My favorite...the burrito hands down!! Im so excited to try something else from the menu tonight!!! Lol needless to say I highly recommend this place!!

I was a little skeptical about this place because their website's menu doesnt work and its in another language (not spanish or english??). It was one of the only places that had openings for a large party on cinco de mayo so we decided to go ahead and try it. AMAZING food! They have alot of your traditional mexican dishes but theyre fabulous in comparison to the chain restaurants you usually see around the area. I was really impressed, I had the fish tacos which were great. My friends had fajitas and enchiladas and also raved about them. The atmosphere is decent, not fancy, I wouldnt bring a date here or anything but it wasnt terrible.

Used to be a regular back when I lived in Baltimore. 7 years later I move back and it is still here and still delicious. Do yourself a favor, try the Yucca con Chicharron!

Me he alojado aquí varias veces y siempre me ha encantado. Esta vez me quedé encantado por el pollo en mole. Había dos grandes trozos de pechuga de pollo que había sido plana golpeados. Eran tiernas y perfectamente cocinada. Estaban en la cima de piezas de plátano sirven cocinados cubierto de mole, y luego el pollo estaba cubierto con una generosa porción de mole. La salsa era exuberante y agradablemente picante. Volveré a por más.

No conocíamos la zona, pero probamos el restaurante porque parecía atractivo. El servicio era una maravilla, guacamole delicioso, y tuvimos una comida deliciosa.

Mi esposa y yo probamos Tela Mares cuando trabajan camino a Fells Point y Highlandtown en búsqueda de buenos restaurantes mexicanos. Palomino era excelente pero un poco demasiado ruidoso para visitas periódicas. Otras, como Santo frijoles en Hampden, no parecen saber cocina mexicana de una lata de frijoles refritos. Nuestra experiencia en Tela Mares era tan bueno, hemos ido cerca de una docena de veces, y siempre hemos sido tratados bien y conseguido increíblemente deliciosas cenas. Las enchiladas verdes son un pilar, simplemente porque están muy bien. raciones enormes, cubiertas de excelentemente ejecutada salsa (rojo, verde, o mole) acompañados por sazonada arroz y frijoles, amplio y fresco guacamole, lechuga, tomates, y crema - absolutamente de primera clase. Las margaritas son grandes y muy sabrosa. Los postres son también impecable - especialmente el flan con la creme brulée. No estoy seguro si otras personas publicar aquí sólo tenía una inusualmente mala experiencia o si se tratan activamente de reducir las Estrellas, pero Tela Mares debería estar en la lista de seleccionados de cualquiera de los lugares mexicanos alucinantes en Baltimore.

Good food... Waitress treated us like an inconvenience and seemed annoyed to address our basic dining needs. Had to track her down multiple times- to order, and then to get the check. Pricey drinks. But easily one of the better places to eat in this neighborhood. NOT directly in Baltimore city center. Took a taxi to get home after late dinner bc of some questionable characters lingering in streets.

The food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly.Would definitely make this a place to visit again when in Baltimore and my friend who lives in Baltimore will be recommending to her friends.The food was fresh and there was a great selection.The price was better than eating at a fast food restaurant but there is certainly no comparison there.The serving was huge and I wish I could have finished it all!

There's a reason this was just about the only place available on Valentine's day. The service was horrible. The waiter had to come back twice to re-confirm what we had ordered. Then they still ended up messing things up with both our meals so they had to bring it back. We had to wait a really long time every time we wanted the waiter and we ended up being there for 2 hours. They also never took our menus for some reason which was just strange. For all that we earned a free margarita each, which was actually the only good thing at that restaurant. Would not go there again and would recommend staying away from there.

I wasn't sure what to expect since there aren't many recent reviews. We had a large party for a birthday celebration. The table was ready at the time we needed it. There was no waiting. The servers were so attentive. The food was very good and there was a lot to choose from. They had a good bar selection! I would definitely go back!
