Truly exceptional food and service.

This place was awesome. They were super chill about our dog and had a great back patio. Was not prepared for the tacos to be as good as they were.

Had lunch here after a long drive from Toronto. The corn bread was mind blowing. I will dream about it for a long time. Tasty brisket and pork shoulder on the lunch platter too!

Wow what a perfect restaurant! In our 4 days in Portland, we ate here 3 times. The whole family was purely obsessed with everything about Terlingua.

Great Texas style BBQ/sauce. Would eat here again.

Best barbecue I’ve had in a long time! I’ve had barbecue in Kansas City, around Colorado etc. but this place wins by far! We started with the mussels and they were phenomenal! Great atmosphere as well! Must visit in Portland!!

Delicious! The smoked brisket tacos were quite possible the best tacos I've had. My husband and I shared them, and were so surprised by how good they were, we felt compelled to try the chicken tacos as well. Equally as good. We also had the Corn Succatosh app, also a great dish. Fresh and tasty.

Had a great night with great bbq. The meat could have been a little bit warmer but the sides were hot. There was a cup of hot sauce on the plate that was amazing

very disappointing. service was extremely slow. waited 20 mins after being seated for our waitress to even acknowledge us. food came out before our drinks and was just okay. waited an additional 20 minutes after telling the waitress we were all set for her to bring our check. definitely do not recommend

The food and atmosphere here are both top quality. No comparison for barbecue most anywhere. Pork belly stands out the most but so does the corn bread and insane deviled eggs. They grow their own veggies and herbs!

Really love the atmosphere here. You need to reserve a table outside. The food was really great, we got the large board of meat. The meat was tender and delicious.

I keep coming back to this place. I think the tacos and the cocktails here are exceptional. The staff is superb. I love when they have an enchilada on the menu, they are always amazing. Many of the rotating appetizers they have are very good but sometimes are a miss for the price point. The one thing I recommend avoiding are the chips and salsa or guacamole which are surprisingly mediocre considering everything else they offer.

A perfect dining experience. We got the small bbq platter and the corn dish. Both rocked our socks. Go here and get those. You will be happy. The outdoor seating is where you should be.

My family of 4 is visiting Portland for a few days and this was on our list of places to eat. We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and were surprised to find a 45 min wait, but took it as a good sign. I think they actually got us in sooner than that. I hear the place is huge and has a great vibe, but we never made it past the first room where we we sat at a high top. Everyone was so nice and friendly from the hostess to wait staff. My husband and I shared the large bbq platter and it was way more than we needed but quite good. Not the best bbq I've ever had, but a solid effort. One daughter got the shrimp and scallop ceviche and the other got mac n cheese and both loved it. We also got cocktails and chips and salsa. Housemade salsa was legit. Cocktails were delish and creative in their options. I just think they could have been larger for the price.

This is the best BBQ I've had in a while. The brisket was near perfect, and I don't think I've ever had better ribs from a restaurant.

Overpriced low quality food...cost $60.00 for fish and chips for myself and my wife...The fish is not haddock, they serve hake, which is a cheap relative to codfish.The actual size of the portion is tiny but they add a huge amount of batter falsely making the portion look larger....It's the only restaurant in my life where they want customers to pay at the time of ordering and give them a tip before the meal..... such a rip off...never again

Great food. Only issue is they recommend a dish with lots of spice when my dad asked for something not spicy. Goat quesadillas and ceviche were amazing.

So delicious! I had the small BBQ plate and it was enough for two! They were thoughtful of my allergy and there were still a lot of food options! Parking was a nightmare, but worth it to try this place out! Service was fantastic!

I went with two girlfriends and we shared a large BBQ board, a Terlingua salad with tempura mushroom, chips and salsa, and finished with the Tres Leches cake. Just a side note that the salsa has a little kick to it, which I love, but if you don’t eat spicy food then it might not be for you. They did not indicate on the menu that the salsa would be spicy. We sat outside in the back and the weather was perfect. We had a great experience. We would have been fine with sharing just one large bbq board between the three of us. We had plenty of food left to bring home at the end. Overall, I highly recommend this place for going with your family and friends. The only slightly negative experience I had was being surprised with “Fair Wage Charge” fee of 3% added to the bill. It’s not that I’m against a fair wage, but I don’t even know what that means. There was no explanation for it and it wasn’t indicated anywhere on the menu that there would be an extra fee. I know a lot of restaurants are adding additional fees these days but it seems like you can call it whatever you want and just slap the fee on top of the bill.

Sitting outside is kind of a must. Great atmosphere. Food was really good. We got the small dinner plate and ordered a side of sweet potatoes and cauliflower. The sweet potatoes and cauliflower were really good, it tasted like it had some sort of smoked sauce similar to beans. The small dinner plate came with lamb sausage, brisket, pork belly, pulled pork, cornbread and beans. The beans were bush beans with Mexican cheese on top, there were not great. All the meats were very good especially the sausage and pork belly. Price wish the small dinner plate was fair but the other prices felt like price gauging. Not being from Maine, the 3% fair wage compensation seems like businesses here want to continue paying low wages and stiff the customer with additional to pay the difference. It was good but I felt the cost didn’t end up to meet my expectations. I wouldn’t come back until they make fair prices for customers.

Food is amazing, we ordered: chips and salsa (homemade), street corn succotash, Mushroom tacos (mushrooms were fried and tasted like pork rinds), Pork tacos, chili in a green base (so unique and delicious). We also ordered tuna ceviche .. delicious but very small portion. Outdoor seating is an oasis and very pet friendly. Staff is efficient and friendly. I will be craving this food when we get back home. Highly recommend!

Our favorite restaurant in Portland hands down! Favorites include the mac and cheese, fish tacos and the brisket but everything we have tried is fantastic. The service and atmosphere are equally impressive. Only great things to say about Terlingua!

Terlingua is such a fun experience every time we go but last night was the best. I went in for my birthday with friends and family at a 6 top outside in the garden. Molly took great care of us. The cocktails were on point, the food was amazing. Thank you!

This is hands down the best barbecue restaurant place that I have tried in Maine, the meat is so tasty and soft, no need of a knife to cut it, good portions for the price and very good quality. Big place and seating in the back as an open terrasse, everything I tried, even a simple dish as mac and cheese was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Came here with my partner and his brother and had a fantastic meal. They ordered the tequila flights, outstanding, and I got a tropical drink. We shared a chicken tamale and the meat board special and was very satisfied. We love coming to this delicious restaurant!

This place is a totally gem! The meat was absolutely delicious. So tender and juicy and the accompanying sauces elevated the flavor experience. We also tried the fish tacos & garlic chicken tacos which were to die for. Best fish tacos I have ever had. The only downside is that they charge you for each refill of soda (they start you out with a small mason jar and don’t mention the cost for refills). They also have a great outdoor space and the atmosphere & service were outstanding. (Thanks Abby). We will absolutely return in the future.

We had the red chili, mac and cheese, and the salad with brisket. We scraped every single dish clean. Some of the best food I've had in my 32 years in Portland. Can't wait to come back for another dinner on the back deck!

Outdoor seating is next level for Portland. Best meat I've ever had. Staff is kind and quick. Very high quality ingredients. Prices are a good value for what you get. I recommend a reservation ahead of time just in case they are busy.

We heard they’re known for their outdoor seating but unfortunately we had to sit inside so can’t comment on that. Blueberry mojito (daily special) was refreshing! For food, we got the Guac, the salad with brisket and the brisket tacos. If I lived near here, I’d get the salad all the time! Highly recommend!

Some of the best bbq that I’ve ever had! We had the brisket tacos and a small bbq platter, it was all absolutely delicious. I would recommend this to any bbq lover out there.

We flew in from Austin Tx, and had to check out this bbq place. We got the big platter of bbq. It was some of the best bbq I’ve had, and I Live a few blocks from franklins. I also loved the Mac and cheese. So good. But our major disappointment was the queso. It seemed like melted Kraft singles. We invite you to Texas to come learn queso. 10 outta 10 Also out of towners. We came in while on a trip to Portland on the recommendation of a friend and Terlingua did not disappoint. This was maybe the best meal we had in Portland and one of our group (me) doesn’t even eat meat. The service was top notch. The vibes were off the chart. The drinks were fantastic (can’t recommend the Oaxacian punch enough). The food was fantastic. The meat eaters loved the big sharing plate and some tacos as well as sharing some of the veggie options. The mushroom tacos changed my life.

One of the best places to go in Portland! This spot came highly recommended from some friends so we made sure to make a reservation during our weekend trip. Let me just say, it did not disappoint, we’re still talking about the brisket and chicken tacos! Everything was delicious from start to finish but the tacos were excellent. The atmosphere on the deck was perfect for a summer evening and you totally forget you’re in the city back there. This place is a must if you’re visiting!!

The food was amazing! We loved everything we ate! However, a few things made our visit less enjoyable. We were seated on the back porch in the middle section. Twice, an employee came to spray and clean a table above us, and both times, the cleaning product was sprayed onto our food and drinks. Additionally, upon finishing the last bite of Mac & Cheese, my significant other bit into a dime-sized piece of plastic, causing some minor discomfort but no injury. The server was nice and had the Mac & Cheese taken off the bill. I wish I could rate it higher, but these were major issues that should be considered.

God that pork sandwich was unreal. Limeade hit the spot too. If I lived in Portland, I’d be back in a heartbeat.

We arrived at 5:30 and were seated right away. We did get the front window seat with the view of the street so the aesthetic wasn’t the best compared to the rest of the restaurant in the back. BUT THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE!!! I had the best chicken tacos I had ever had in my life. I would definitely visit again if I have the chance.

First time at Terlingua as we are new to Portland. Finally had dinner with some friends on a Friday night and we fell in love with the outdoor patio nestled among the lush trees. The BBQ was delicious & truly good cocktails. Excellent customer service- this will definitely be one of our new go to restaurants.

Overpriced, small portions, bland food. I laughed when they charged us $2 for more bread. It was a single slice of bread. Junk fees too. But your tacos are 19 dollars for two of them, yet you guys can't pay your employees enough? Yeah okay.

Absolutely loved this place. The tacos were amazing! Hubby got brisket. I got the carnitas, and we swapped 1 for 1. BOTH were amazing. Don't miss the chips n guac because it's the freshest, best tasting guacamole I've had. Our waitress was delightful and attentive. The atmosphere on the multi-level terrace is great! Really can't say enough good about this place!

My wife and I had high hopes but left disappointed. The good: 1) we were seated quickly 2) our waitress arrived quickly and gave insight on menu 3) the atmosphere is decent, nice space outdoor. 4) the salad was excellent 5) a drink was comped The bad 1) we ordered salad, chips and guacamole and tuna ceviche to sample plus tacos each 2) all of the food arrived within five minutes of each other so there was zero pacing just a big table of food. 3) I wouldn’t order the tuna ceviche, it was unappetizing 4) my wife ordered a rum punch but the rum was Smoky. No rum punch is smoky and it was an unpleasant drink (we both tried). We were comped the drink but only after we asked about the smoky flavor. 5) We arrived at 7:15 and paid the check by 7:45 pm. So 30 minutes, which is unacceptable. Short of eating fast food at a teenager, I’ve never been finished with a meal so quick, but when they bring every course out at the same time, I guess that is what happens. We were hoping for a nice experience. There is no experience in 30 minutes. In short, we won’t be going back…but the salad was excellent!

Entering the restaurant was misleading in a great way. We entered off the street after hearing good things about the food. We took a seat at the bar and was greeted warmly by the nice guy pouring drinks. We ordered some ceviche and the lunch meat plate to share. The food was fantastic, portions were spot on and the drink were really good. A very delicious lunch.

My friends and I went here on our first night of vaca and it certainly set the bar high for food for the rest of our trip. We shared the BBQ platter and everything was delicious. Drinks were also so good and great service too!

I enjoyed my dining experience here! Initially my friend and I were seated in an enclosed deck. Because I am still very covid-averse and frequently mask up, my friend requested we be moved and the waitstaff very willingly found us a table in the open air. The pork carnitas tacos were excellent. Had a large takeout order with friends and I enjoyed smoked brisket and smoked pulled pork tacos, griddled Mac and cheese, fried cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and street corn. Everything was so well prepared! Amazing flavor and they were great about our large order!

She then placed us in the “marketplace” area, which is the new area where they sit customers with no reservation. It is also their waiting area. They are high top tables with metal stools. I asked why we weren’t being placed in the dining room and she said there is no explanation and there was no “sorry” either. Unfortunately, it was not the great evening we had hoped for.

Such a good vibe, always clean & cozy. We keep coming back for the Brisket, which is absolutely out of this world every single time. Love the service, everyone is kind, professional, and welcoming. Absolutely top notch from service to food to atmosphere. Our waiter Jameson was completely fantastic. Greg the "chief cook and bottle washer" was so accommodating, funny and personable. He talked and laughed with us like we were old friends. Such a great evening. They both made the experience one I can't wait to repeat! Now let's talk about the food...... NEXT LEVEL Everything was fantastic. The apps were amazing, the drinks were superb and the main courses were like heaven on a stick. They accommodated a food allergy for an appetizer so that I could still enjoy with extra attention paid to making sure my experience was as enjoyable as everyone elses we were there with. Hands down the best BBQ I've ever had. But it's so much more than BBQ. So much more than food. It's the experience you must try for yourself. Words escape me. What an absolute gem for Portland. Worth every moment, every penny, each step of the way.

2nd time eating here in less than a year. the bbq is remarkable but its the rest of the menu holds up its end of the bargin. service is excellent, bev offerings are varied and crafted with thought. what a great find in a city of such remarkable food this place stands out.

If I could give this place a million stars I would. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. We shared the bbq plate, mac and cheese, and deviled eggs. I still dream about that cornbread and Cole slaw. Probably one of my top 10 meals ever. My 2 year old devoured the brisket.

The food is exceptional. Try daily specials and pork belly in dinner box. The daily special -fried ribs with sesame and coffee was astonishing. The atmosphere in terrace is very nice. Service is fast and staff is nice. It is incredibly affordable for this quality.

Always an incredible experience at terlingua. The bbq board is a must and usually always split it between two of us and it leaves us stuffed after an appetizer or two as well (or with some leftovers). The entire board is so delicious and when I went for the first time, the worker who dropped the board off suggested using the spicy vinegar on the brisket and let me tell you that is the thing to do it’s amazing. Got the deviled eggs this time and they were great just wish I could eat 10 of them, we opted to get an extra fourth so we didn’t have to fight over the last one.

You gotta try their specials. We had devil eggs, fried ribs (personal favorite) and the BBQ dinner plate( personal fav is the honey glazed pork belly)

We went for the 1st time tonight with friends from out of state. Lots of friends had recommended going. Well it was Amazing! We all shared the large plate. The BBQ meats were so good and the sides did not disappoint. The corn bread was out of this world. This place is a must! We will be returning to try all of their delicious foods!

Wow! Had dinner here last night, delicoius! We had to wait for about 45 minutes for a walk-in so would reccomend a reservation in advance. We were sat at the bar and had great service from the bartenders with fun drinks. But WOW, the best fish taco (Baja Fish Taco on menu) I have had in ME. After living in southern California for many years, these tacos were comaprable to any taco there. My daughter had the brisket tacos which were delicious as well. overall a great expirence with yummy food!!

If you want a 'good ole smoker feed', go to a roadside pit, if you want a new look on BBQ, this is the place! Food was excellent (not as spicy as I would like) with beautiful presentation and great wait staff. Finding a parking spot was horrible and not accessible to any slight mobility issue.

Beautiful food and awesome atmosphere. The prices are up there compared to some other options in Portland (some that are even across the street or down the street from Terlingua. But, don't fret... this place has all the specialty feel that was left by the predecessor (Silly's Restaurant) and maybe a bit more. Sitting outside can accommodate a four-legged friend and provides you with some of the most unique dining in Portland. The food packs a punch and certainly is something to write home about.

My husband and I celebrated his birthday last night here with 6 of our other friends and it just wasn't a great experience. It was way too cold to be sitting outside even with the heaters and our food was luke warm. My mixed drink was way too strong and had to be re made.
