Good food. A flaw at 9pm closes the kitchen and we were not warned or rather they don't even serve you the dessert but it seems limiting for us Italians. When you book it is not specified well

If I would have rated Thames Street based on previous visits, I would have given it 5 stars. However, my husband and I went to dinner there last night and he was really disappointed with his entree. Having gotten the rockfish entree last time we were there, he was really looking forward to it again but he was very underwhelmed by this iteration. The portion size was really small and he said that the ragout and pasta were too sweet when eaten with the fish. Since there was not technically anything wrong with the dish, he did not say anything but, for $37, we feel that we did not get our money's worth.

Food was great! Wished they had Dr. pepper tho. The oysters were so damn fresh! We could definitely see why the lobster roll is one of their best sellers! I’m still thinking about the fries it came with.

I had extremely high hopes for this restaurant, for my weekend off from work. Unfortunately, I believe I may have gotten food poisoning from one of the dishes. The fried oysters were okay, they were fishy, but some of them I tasted were a bit gritty. The potato salad was greatly underseasoned, and the crab cake was subpar, more breading than crab. The sparkling wine was great, and the waitress was nice. However I left the restaurant sick after an hour of consuming all of the food. I did not ask for a refund, even though I had gotten sick, however I did report it to the restaurant, and received an apology from the chef. My overall meal was 100$, including tip for one person. Maybe a bad day, hoping to come back another time for redemption.

We went here for a quick brunch before going to the museums. The restaurant was quite packed on a weekend 1pm and we waited for sometime. The staff was quite busy from time to time. The food was good - the lobster roll was great. However, it was quite difficult to find a parking spot nearby on a weekend. It may take you a few blocks away from the restaurant.

Tried out this restaurant and was not disappointed! Walked around Fells Point until we were notified our table was ready. Downstairs is rather small with a bar. There is an upstairs but not sure of the size of that area. Our waitress Amalia was great. She was knowledgeable of the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and let me tell you……by far the BEST CALAMARI I have ever had!!! Large amount enough for 2-3 people to share. Our main meals (cast iron crab cake & New Bedford swordfish) were great as well! Drinks range about ~$15. Absolutely no complaints. Definitely worth a try!!

I’ve dined here 4-5x at this point and I’m finally writing a review because I don’t think it’s a fluke - the servers are the most self-righteous staff members I have ever encountered! For a somewhat higher-end restaurant, I’m consistently close to appalled by the wait staff. Today was no different, which means it was never a fluke. The maitre d is always kind, the greeters and expeditors are always kind; the servers - the people who leave the biggest impression on the restaurant! - kind of suck! They’re often condescending and rude. The food is amazing and I’d love to say we will be back but I’m honestly not sure. Bummer.

This place is incredible. My parents had already been here for their wedding anniversary and had to take my boyfriend and I on our annual trip back home. For our day in Baltimore we made a reservation and we had the absolute best service. You can tell things are brought fresh straight from the kitchen and the server was very down to earth. The calamari was amazing, and it was probably the best Lobster roll of my life. My boyfriend who does not like seafood opted for the burger and said it was one of the best he has ever had and was not disappointed. We also ordered the bread pudding and the coffee cake, both of which are to die for. I highly recommend the bread pudding. Pricey but worth it.

Not sure why I haven't reviewed sooner -- my husband and I go to Baltimore every single June to relive our first date. Cheesy, yes I am aware. Our original restaurant doesn't exist anymore, and sometime after, we discovered Thames St -- I think the first year they opened. We've been going ever since... which is maybe 12 or 13 years? We've never had a bad experience. It's a highlight trip for us (from Lancaster PA) - and we've always had great food and service. We've taken many friends and relatives here over the years as well, and everyone just loves the place. Going again in 2 days - can't wait!

Excellent food and excellent service. If it is your first time, the lobster roll is a must-have. The crab soup with short rib is also very good if you like a thick non-creamy soup. They also have an excellent selection of raw oysters at a very reasonable price. My favorite was the Chincoteague which are very salty and have a lot of meat. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. It was my first time in the area, and my waitress was very patient and helpful and offered up some excellent recommendations. This was very much appreciated. From the winter menu, the monkfish preparation is wonderfully fresh and really showcases their lobster sauce. The lobster roll is the best in town, far and away. You'd think a Baltimore restaurant of this caliber would have good crab cakes. I admit to being a crab snob, but they were not good - too much filler, hardly any lump. The grilled asparagus that accompanied dinner was mushy and over-cooked. Fries were good. There's not a huge menu selection but wish I'd stuck with shrimp cocktail and an appetizer. Service was excellent. LOUD noise level even mid week. Hard to converse.

I have been to Thames a few times and I'm happy to say that the quality is always incredible. Reservations encouraged though, it can get busy even on a Monday evening! The service is polite and the restaurant is really clean, with views of the port. I went around 20 min before my reservation and they allowed us to seat by the bar and grab a drink but it was not possible to sit us at the table until the arranged time. I had the Spring Sangria which was tasty, with fruity touches. We started with some OYSTERS, we had the Rappahannock, Cape May Salts and the Assateague Salts which, as always, were really fresh. Then we had the GRILLED PORTUGUESE ROCK OCTOPUS, which comes with a delicious salsa verde and ratatouille. I was surprised that the LOBSTER ROLL was $38!! but the lobster was so fresh and tasty, including tail and claw meat in a toasted bun which holds everything perfectly. It comes with roaster whole carrots with are perfectly tender. You probably will need to order more if you are hungry. Still, one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore SPANISH: I have been to Thames several times and I can say that the quality is always incredible. Nice place for oyster lover, and one of the best crab cakes I have ever had. Visited in mid Jan and they have a great selection of oysters. My friend enjoyed the different flavor profile of oysters. Clams are great option for people less into oyster. Also ordered the crispy point Judith Calamari, New England lobster roll, and cast iron crab cake. My favorite about these dishes is the crab cake, it was nicely seared which added the great texture and crunch, but it is juicy and meaty inside. At the time I had it, it was served with potato and sweet potato puree on the side. Decently big portion. The sauce is rich and creamy with some tagines which pairs well with the crab cake. The Lobster roll is alright, the but is very buttery which can get a be heavy, the lobster roll is served warm, the lobster meat is simple but good quality. It was served with fires sprinkled with old bay. The crispy point Judith Calamari was a bit disappointing; it was nice that it is seasoned with minced pepper which added some heat. However, this dish is very heavy and oily, especially when oil collect at the bottom of the plate.

I had some really good food in the city while I was there but this was the highlight, potentially would visit just to go back here again. We were quickly shown the drink and dinner menu and the waitress was extremely knowledgeable of the various oysters from the raw bar menu and noted several local recommendations. All the choices given were spot on, extremely fresh, and amazing. The lobster roll was the best I have ever experienced and my wife’s monkfish and house made gnocchi was unlike any we had ever tasted. To cap off the meal, the bread pudding was phenomenal. In conclusion, my dining experience at Thames Street Oyster House was nothing short of spectacular. From the server's knowledge and friendliness to the facility's cleanliness and the great atmosphere, every aspect exceeded my expectations. And of course, the food was absolutely divine. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Baltimore.

One of the best meals we had in Baltimore. We stopped in later on a Saturday evening with no reservation. It was a 45 min wait but we were able to get seats at the bar after about 15 min. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The drinks were well made. The food was amazing. We shared calamari as an app and scallops with butternut squash. The seafood tasted fresh and the flavors were fantastic. I would absolutely go back here again if in the area.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Baltimore! I have never been disappointed, even when their menu was simpler during covid. The spring cocktails are amazing, especially the Almond Sour. It packs a punch and is delicious. I got the monk fish entree and the gnocchi was crispy and amazing. Fresh oysters were a hit as always. Husband had mussels and the lobster roll and was very happy. Service was stellar. I can't wait to go back!!

everything about this place was great. friendly service made it a 10/10 experience. amazing food and the cocktails are equally amazing. It’s a local restaurant that definitely lives up to its hype and serves fresh, high quality food. It’s a very casual vibe with high end food :) lovely overall

Great little place with excellent food. The crab cake is about as good as you can find anywhere on the east coast.

Downstairs is small and cramped but the food was amazing. We ordered a steak and a scallop dish that was the special. Steak was cook perfectly and the sauce served with it was delicious! I am a steak purist and don't like any sauce on my steak but this stuff was good! Baked scallops with polenta was so good. We had a raw bar appetizer and the oysters were fresh and delicious.

My wife and I came in here for the first time last night. We arrived just as they were opening for dinner. We did not have a reservation but we were able to snag one of the high top tables in the bar area. The service here would rival a Ritz Carlton Hotel. From the hostesses, to the bartender, to the waitress every one seemed to enjoy their job and were extremely attentive. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is my wife was disappointed in the crab cake. Way too much filler for the price. I guess we should not have assumed an Oyster house in Baltimore would have the best crab cakes. It won’t keep us from returning though. We will just order something else.
