I was an idiot and ordered from the wrong big Greek cafe online. The woman handling phones called me and placed my order to the right location. All was made right in the world. I hope she gets a raise

Great place for gyros and other greek food. Reasonable prices

Portions seemed small for the price. Not many tables, but not very busy for Monday lunch. Soda in plastic bottles. Metered street parking

The Chicken Souvlaki is my favorite. I've been coming here for years and the quality is just as good as the first time!

An avid Greek cuisine lover, I am always on the lookout for some really good souvlaki or gyro, Greek salads or other fabulous eats, having tried them from Oregon to Florida! I recently ran across BGC while in the Silver Spring area around lunch time, and boy, am I glad I did! For being a small place, I was impressed with their lively and bright, yet not overwhelming décor - it not louder than your lunch, helping to savor and enjoy the experience. It was nice, neat, convenient, and the counter staff is very friendly and attentive. I was sold BGC the moment I bit into their huge and hard to handle, but incredibly delicious Bifteki Pita with a side of peppers and feta cheese, and a Coke! Anyone who can make something this good, has to make everything just as well. I had the pleasure of briefly meeting the busy Big Greek himself, coming out of the kitchen briefly to say hi and receive my compliment. Anyone who enjoys excellent Greek fare, has to put the Big Greek Café on their bucket list of eateries. I'll see you as soon as I can get back to BGC. Bon appétit!

Yhe food here is always so delicious everytime I come here, and the staff are always so friendly & helpful. In terms of local restaurants like this, this by far is my favorite of all, and that is a pretty high bar to clear for me personally. I highly recommend the Greek fries they're crack, and I sure am addicted to their delicious unique flavor. Honestly everything here is good, and can't say I've hated anything I've eaten here

A nice place with good food and friendly personnel. Not really an inviting ambiance to eat in, but great for take out..!! I come here regularly and they never disappoint. Also good for catering a bigger event, like we did last year. Not necessarily cheap, but you get good quality and quantity. Would definitely recommend! Their fries are delicious, the Wednesday Famous Pita Gyros is a banger and for dessert, their rice pudding is a great option!

I didn’t get any pictures of my gyro feast because I inhaled it so quickly. The gyro is the best I think I’ve had in the DMV, but I want to go back a second time to test it. The Greek fries were also excellent, so crispy and the toppings were everything I didn’t know I needed. I can’t wait to return!

Food is good. But that lady at the register could use more of emotional intelligence, she's not assertive on how to take care of her guests. She gives zero fff even if her manager is around. I wait for the other cashiers to be free when placing the order

Really really delicious chicken gyro as in unbelievably good! We don't live in this area but will make it a priority to return when we are!!

I came to eat with my family and the food was sooooo good. I'm from California and this spot Rivals all Greek grub I've tried. The fish sandwich is the real MVP! You wont be disappointed!

I went here cause of the great reviews. Unfortunately, I think they applied to gyros. I made the mistake of ordering the moussaka. Not only was it rather flavorless but there was an inch of thick bland béchamel custard. And the roasted potatoes were dry w no flavor of garlic or lemon. Service friendly, clean small place. But the deal breaker for me is they don’t recycle all the paper and plastic products used, which I think is a crime in this day and age.

I was visiting from out of town and stumbled on this place and decided to come because of my and my husband's love of Greek food. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Portions are out of control, and everything was so fresh and good. Could not finish it all because there was enough to eat off our plates for three meals! No exaggeration. We ate at the high table facing the windows, and we had a great time people watching on a busy Friday night. Will definitely return when in the DC area. Can't wait to devour my leftovers!

Love this place. Huge gyros and really tasty. The best fries around, too. (Forget the ketchup, order extra tzatziki and dip them in that). Prices are fair and service is quick. I live 10 min away and phone in my order before walking there to pick up - it's usually ready when I arrive. Check out the Wednesday special, it's a bargain.

Honestly, this place makes it hard for me to choose other Greek restaurants to eat at. Their food is overly delicious. One of the best. Any other Greek food is mediocre to me compared to this place. They're also very friendly, and provide great customer service.

The food is delicious with char grilled flavor. I’ve just had the chicken but want to try the lamb chops. My daughter loves the gyros here. The salad is outstanding and the potatoes are also good. Good portions and price!

The salmon on the Greek salad was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is friendly and there was singing entertainment coming from the kitchen. Always great to hear staff enjoying their work!

The spice fish sandwich with fried potatoes was so good!

Customer services was really good although the food menu is a bit organized and all over the place. Ended up finding the Nikos fried and ordered a side of yogurt sauce. Fries were very crispy and they were loaded with toppings and gyro meat. The sauce is a bit overwhelming but finishes off smooth. They were a bit salty as well but would give them a try again!

Lamb chop from here was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. Highly, highly recommend.

The meal we had was very good. My wife had the Greek chicken, which she loved. I had the salmon which was good. We both had the roasted potatoes. My main complaint is that they do not give enough hummus.

We sat at the counter and watched the people stroll by on Georgia Ave. We heard every other person mention how much they love the food and that they travel far for the Gyro! I'll tell ya, the portions are large, and the fries with fiesty feta sauce is where it's at! Friendly and fast service to top it off. You won't regret it!

Delicious, but kind of pricey. I got the Greek salad, which was huge, so I I guess you are getting your moneys worth.

It was to go, but still amazing food. The gyro roasted potatoes, and souvlaki are delicious.

Amazing customer service! The crispy flounder sandwich and fries were hot and delicious. Another guest even complimented them on their customer service while I was there. Highly recommend.

I'll be honest. It's a tight fit in the restaurant. But it feels like a trip to Greece. From the candy to the menu itself, it's a cool place you can have an impromptu great lunch. Like a place you take someone who you'd like to share a secret with. Right off of colesville, it's got its own sauce which is the perfect compliment for fries. Try the crazy fries :) thank me later

Made a last minute catering order and it was AMAZING! My guests were raving about the hummus, the potatoes, the chicken, the spinach pies, the salad, everything was perfect. Highly highly recommend!

Fast. Comfort food. Fairly priced. Parking is a nightmare. Most people double-park out front when picking up orders. Would be nice to be able to add comments when ordering - as in - having the option to have it ready in say 45 minutes rather than 10 - otherwise you have to call in and ask for an order to be held.

The caterer, Pietro's (?), was very helpful and kind. This was a small last minute order and it was handled without any problems. The food was excellent. We've eaten here numerous times but this was our first using the catering side and it was not disappointing. Thank you!

Ate in and ordered pick up, twice in one week. It was that good -- quick, satisfying, and great with a little kid in tow. Highly recommend the falafel pita, spanakopita and tzatziki.

Probably one of the best place to get some gyros, especially on Wednesdays when the gyro are $6 each (only applies to the lamb gyro, not other options). We’ve tried their other menu items ranging from fries to their baklavas and they’re all delicious. Basically you can’t really go wrong with this place and you’ll be satisfied with any entree you select.

Ordered takeout via DoorDash, and this is some of the BEST Greek food I’ve had. We ordered big Greek bowls, which were enough to feed us for lunch the next day as well. Don’t sleep on the falafel!

The food here are delicious. I love their gyro. The meatball are also delicious. The meatball just melt in your mouth.

If you are picking up, check all your food before leaving this place. We ordered here through Uber Eats, and did a pick-up. When we got home, we found out that half of food ordered simply wasn't there. When we called them, they said those items didn't come through Uber Eats and therefore we weren't charged for them, but we WERE charged for all those items, and they also were on the invoice attached to the bag.

The food is amazing from this place and my company really enjoyed the food being catered from this company! They were nice and delivered to our building and the delivery guy was very sweet and he helped carry in all of the food items. The food was also kept warm and was NOT cold or old. The only small problem I had with this company was getting a receipt from them early on. (Which It sounds like they don't normally print these out in advanced). I had purchased a large order so I wanted a receipt, I had to ask them 2-3 times to get one. Next time I wish they would have just followed through on what they said and gave me it the first time I asked. Other than that one small part everything else was great and I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs catering!

They have this soup that's creamy with chicken and pasta. The best part about this soup is the lemon flavor. You must try it. I have found all their dishes are good.

They serve probably the best chicken greek salad of all time. However, watch out - the olives are not pitted if that's what you're used to! I almost broke a tooth!

Gyros very good, calamari excellent Greek lasagna needs help. $28 bucks for a 2 out of 3 so so. Tsaziki is so delicious it could be a meal by itself.

Love this place! Owner is very nice and food is consistently fantastic. If you get lucky you’ll stop by when they have a fresh batch of the galaktoboureko (delish Greek desert).

Friend lives very close by and we wanted to go somewhere for a quick bite to eat. The food was the best Greek food I’ve ever had in the DMV area. Very casual atmosphere. After placing our order we went to sit down and the owner combined two tables for us because we had more than 2 people in our party. After combining the table he welcomed us to sit down and he pulled open the chair and pushed it in for me to sit in. Food was ready shortly after sitting down. They also packed our food for us to take home after eating. Excellent service!! I live an hour away and definitely will be coming back.

I was passing through for a doctor's appointment and saw thisbspot. I had to stop. We are from Sterling, VA. My partner and I got the falafel bowl, chicken bowl and lamb chops meal to share for dinner. This was my first encounter and the food was absolutely amazing. The lamb chops were well seasoned along with the roasted potatoes and mixed veggies. I definitely will come back and visit when I'm in the area 😋!

I've been enjoying The Big Greek Cafe for over ten years. Really outstanding product for the price. Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Helps me itch my craving as a Chicago transplant for some delicious Greektown food.

Although I only had a side salad it was delicious. Home made dressing and tzsiki were delcious.

The food here is soooo good. This was first time. Ordered online and food was ready within 15 minutes. I order a salmon bowl. Comes with carrots in bowl so just be mindful if allergic. But wow, everything tasted so good
