I love this bread. I have tons of "good" sourdough options nearby, but I travel the 15 minutes from my house for this one. I only wish I lived closer so I could frequent the shop more. But pro tip: buy extra loaves and freeze them. They are always just as good when reheated!

This place just gets better every time I come. Today they had some amazing pastries and their usual delicious bread. I tried the honey whole wheat today and was not disappointed.

Excellent bakery! In particular, the sourdough breads. Their breads are so much better than most of the highly touted (read: over-rated) bakeries in town. Love the rye and country French breads. These loaves are as good as the ones you get in France and Berkeley! So glad we found them.

Who knew that the kid from my middle school would move to the PNW and open such an amazing bakery?! Adam and Kellee have mastered the art of sourdough, and this spot has quickly become a weekly trip for me. Admittedly, I've only had the plain sourdough, and the cheddar jalapeno, but I've eaten A LOT of it. Eat it plain, toasted with butter, as a tuna melt...you cannot go wrong. And the chocolate croissants? Flaky, buttery, delicious. Thank you for sharing your gift, and love of sourdough, and see you next week!

My husband and I have been coming here for bread weekly ever since they opened and my daily toast or sandwiches have significantly improved since then. I love the daily specials and always grab a chocolate croissant when they are there 😋! Everyone is super nice and we are so grateful to have them in the neighborhood!

Really nice corner bakery if the kind every neighbourhood needs. Tidy and clean inside with an open kitchen so you can see the wonders of bread making, and a nice little seating area. Bakers were super friendly and happy to answer our questions (eg, what kind of chocolate do you use in your pain au chocolat? Valrhona) Great breads! Many sourdough are overly sour but these are very well balanced in flavour. Nice texture too. My husband particularly enjoyed the egg sausage and cheese hand pie.

i love this place!!! been going here since they opened and they only continue to elevate all their baked goods every week. i always lose control and buy everything because it’s worth it!!! there was a week i got a breakfast hand pie every day and no regrets. pleaaase do yourself a favor and check them out! all the loaves are delish but personally love the lulu for my sandos. ALSO THE CINNAMON KNOTS!! the owners are absolutely the best people ever uWu take all my monies

This is a great new local bakery. I found this by chance when in the neighborhood the other day as there is a great pizza place next door also. The bakery has a nice selection of fresh bread, I sampled a honey loaf that was delicious. I purchased a ham and cheese sandwich. french style in a french baton. Although not quite amazing as Aby’s it was very good. i’m sure sandwiches are not their focus and this place is more bakery focus than sandwich bar. I noticed that they also have coffee and great looking pastries for the morning crowd. It’s good to see a local place supporting Nossa Familia coffee, another local brand. If you go here. tip well. local businesses need a chance to survive, they are working hard and make the community richer overall.

The sourdough is second to none! Absolutely delicious and they always have fun and delicious pastries to try. Loved the fresh fruit danishes!

Got the habanero parmesan loaf and salted chocolate chip cookies. Both were incredible. The bread is so good it’s my new favorite. Their hand pies look delicious. Worth going back!

Absolutely incredible, best bread I've ever had hands down. The croissants have ruined every other croissant for me. The jalapeno cheddar makes for an incredible grilled cheese or savory French toast, and honestly the loaves are just good enough to eat in their own.

These fine people are magicians. Their bread is a feast in every bite. We stop here as often as we are able to do so. If you are within 40 miles, you owe them a visit.

As their working neighbor “The Coffee Lab PDX” I can confirm that this bakery is a HIDDEN GEM!!! This is coming from a bread junkie with European Family Bakers. They deserve all the success coming to them. 👍🏼

I’m gonna say it… the best bakery in Northwest, and one of the top couple in Portland. We have a lot of good bakeries in the area, but these folks are on a whole other level. Have you ever had a sourdough croissant?! If not, prepare to fall in love. Their fougasse on Saturday is so unique and delicious. Their cheddar jalapeño bread is potentially the best bread I have ever eaten. Always friendly, and a pleasant experience. Not somewhere to sit down and eat (no seating or anything)… it is intended to be a take and go. They are now a staple on our weekend walks. I hope they thrive here, because my weekend plans now include them 😂 They are an artisan bake shop, and the prices reflect that (~$5 croissant and $10-ish for a loaf)… but absolutely worth it. I don’t mind paying for quality, and supporting small local businesses.

Wow, their bread is truly exceptional. I've mainly had the cheddar jalapeno loaf and every bite is damn near transformational.

I love that we have a bakery here. It’s a bummer that every time I drive by it it looks closed or it is closed. There’s also nowhere to sit outside and because the windows are kind of dark its hard to know what they are selling. Unfortunately, this probably means they will be out of business by this time next year, if the owners are reading this review, I would highly recommend having a normal operating hours. People need bread every day. I would also change your decor because putting a couple of too-small bread decals on dark one way glass doesn’t work. put some flowers out front. Have some loaves on display for people to see as they drive by. we want you guys to succeed!!!

Fabulous new bakery and patisserie. Better fresh breads than anything else around and pastries to rival Nuvrei. Open on Sunday mornings too thankfully. So thrilled they’re around!

Oh my god, after I had tested plenty of croissants in two weeks I was still surprised after the first bite of sourdough croissant here. The texture is a little bit different from a standard normal one. The dough a firmer and thicker inside while the crisp is still crispy. And I was lucky to get the baguette while it’s still warm. I ate it in store because it smelled so good. In terms of croissant it better than ken’s, while baguette they are equally good.

This place is amazing! Fresh hand pies for breakfast, tasty sandwiches for lunch. Everything that I have tried has been fantastic!

The BEST cheese danishes I’ve ever had in Portland, or possibly anywhere. Flaky, not overly sweet, just a hint of sour to give complexity. It takes me forever to eat one because I have to savor every bite. The bread is great too, we’ve tried the baguettes and the cheddar-jalapeño. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

I got a habanero parmesan loaf that was baked the same day I started eating it. It was gone within 24 hours! It didn’t even need butter. It was spicy, in a pleasant way that I didn’t know bread could be. It had a great light and chewy texture. Best bread I’ve ever had!

Do not sleep on the apple hand pies— perfect flaky piecrust. DANGEROUS!!! Bread is also stellar. What a gem.

Best sourdough bread of my life. The exterior is crispy and the interior is very stretchy and moist. It's not overwhelming sour. The staff was very friendly.

Brewers Bread is perfection. The only issue is that now that I’ve tried their bread, I won’t want to eat any other bread. Crunchy crust, chewy goodness inside. I am obsessed.

AMAZING SOURDOUGH bakery! My favorites are the east coast hoagie bread and the insanely delicious croissant, the best in PDX now. But honestly, everything here is awesome. Their crisp exterior loaves are dense, lofty, with complex flavor; very satisfying bread! The chocolate chip cookie is so good. I'm so glad their bakery has arrived in Portland.
