The Cottage has what could be the best burger on Siesta Key. The Billionaire Burger is not just a name, it is its quality. The short rib, brisket, and chuck blend brings a powerful flavor to the burger while the toppings and bun bring it all together. Service was wonderful sitting at the bar and the beer prices were good. There are a lot of restaurants on Siesta Key that are musts if you are visiting, and The Cottage is definitely one of them.

I came here with my fiance one evening when visiting. We ordered the Filet Mignon and Curry Cauliflower with high hopes. We ended up returning the Curry Cauliflower it tasted sour and off and the Steak came out gray on the outside with no sear and raw in the middle. I eat steak regularly Im from Wyoming and enjoy medium rare I was highly dissapointed paying over $50 for what arrived. I wanted to leave but stayed and they cooked it further... I was not impressed at all with it and left cash on the table and left. I enjoy cooking and its highly dissapointing to go out to get food and having a bad experience. The server was great. The food was not. I wish I would have walked out and left the server cash. I dont know if it was a bad day for the chef or what but I wouldnt return. Unfortunately didnt take pics I was too irritated and didnt want to be rude to the server.

Cool rustic resto tiki bar with tasty food and a friendly, helpful staff like hostess Sandy and our server Rudy. Had the grouper sandwich and Peruvian Chicken. Beautiful presentation. Sides were tasty too except for the cilantro rice which needed a lil something. Grouper coulda been a lil tastier. Some of the entrees are a bit pricey considering the type of restaurant it is, but still tasty overall. Wish their live entertainment ran past 9, but it looks like many venues here wrap up early even on a Friday night, and it was slow season (August) when I visited.

AMAZING food and bar service. Unfortunately this is the second time going there and BOTH times the hostess gave us attitude about choosing an inside table. Apparently they have limited small tables so they (reluctantly) offered the only available 6 top table inside. It feels like the surface of the sun outside in FL right now so of course we’d rather sit inside. I’m sorry there were only 2 of us taking the only place available inside again….just very rude towards us on both occasions which is why I couldn’t give it 5 stars. Luckily the bartender was AWESOME and not only was he quick and attentive, but gave us some laughs and was very friendly. Please tell the middle aged woman hostess to cheer up! 😅

I come here to every year and usually the food is fantastic, but this time not so much, I usually get the billionaire burger and it’s typically amazing and nothing to complain about. The burger was dry with hardly any sauces on it, truffle fries were equally as dry and had little to no flavor. Very disappointed as the burger itself is a whopping $25😭😭 this may have just been a bad burger out the many made but I am extremely unimpressed

The food was terrific and our server Brooke was awesome. I had the forbidden Salmon and short ribs bites on her advice and was blown away. Brooke was super attentive and her suggestions were on point.

We had a great dinner! Lovely ambience. Live music with a great singer. The appetizer/tapas were INCREDIBLE and the kids menu was great too (good portions!). Highly recommend!

Best lobster bisque ever and it’s gluten free!!!

This place used to be a good place with decent food but this summer everything was just not good at all. Overpriced food and poor service. Ordered lobster roll and they forgot to put other ingredients in it, just brought a small shredded dry lobster with lettuce and roll. Way overpriced hummus starter I’ve ever come across. Their tuna sandwich too thick and definitely not a fresh caught as we were told.

Best lobster bisque I’ve ever had! All the food was great but seriously the lobster bisque, soooo delicious! Service was great, everyone was so nice especially a lady called Cindy or Sydney (sorry I am so bad with names) she went out of her way to make sure my friend had a great birthday! Thank you so much for a great experience after an exhausting beach day!

Basically pub grub nice enough but not wow beer more expensive than other I have been to in the area staff pleasant I had tuna quite good and partner had short Ribs nice also not outstanding your in a Tourist area actually better than I expected

Probably the worst dish of my life. Do not get the sea scallops. It was definitely frozen and the amount of salt, was outrageous. It was inedible. Even aside for this, it wasn’t a “risotto”, was just plain rice with scallops. Also, the amount of flies on the front patio once you get your food, you’ll probably get a disease from them. Like 6 flies swarmed our table, we had to move inside. Calamari wasn’t that great either. The customer service was great though, very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Still won’t be coming back here again

This was a really fun place with excellent food! A simple menu but choices that all 11 of us were happy with! They don’t take reservations so go early unless you want to wait. We ate inside (it was raining) and it was a bit loud and some raucous people at the bar (Saturday night). Our sever was excellent and helpful!

Dinner at The Cottage was very good, from the drinks to the Tapas to the entrees, very much worth visiting. The service was great and the live violinist was great for the atmosphere.

Friends and I came here on a Friday in the summer. The parking spots in front of the restaurant were all open but had cones up. They don't allow you to self park, only valet which is $5 an hour. I can see that in season, but not now in the summer. We sat inside as it was quite warm outside. The place looks like a tiki hut. Our waitress took our drink orders and then came back with them to take our food orders. We got a burger ($25!!!), tuna appetizer and a salad ($17 without any protein). To me, the prices are crazy. Was the food good? Yes, for sure. Service was a little slow but fine.

Phenomenal service and food quality was excellent. Sat out on the patio. The grilled chicken sandwich was so good. Usually, grilled chicken sandwiches are dry at restaurants. It was excellent here. The short rib bites were delicious. The meat was tender - could have used a little more seasoning but not a lot. The food is pricey so be prepared - burger is $25 to $28. Great ambience. Service really was outstanding. She anticipated all needs and was always smiling!

We had the lobster bisque and it was FANTASTIC! The tempura grouper sandwich was good. The tuna club was equally good.

Large party with 4 kids under 4, sat in the cabana outside. Crystal was a phenomenal waitress. Extremely attentive and speedy with her service. Kyle was also wonderful and really got to know our table. The food is stellar. The lobster Maki, tuna tacos, short rib entree and scallops with saffron risotto are all must orders

Carly waited on us on the back patio. We had kids in our party and were a fairly challenging table during a busy time, but Carly took great care of us! Ask for her, she is awesome. The live music was a very talented guitar player, food was great, would definitely go back.

Drinks amazing. Service excellent at Bar even though she was very busy. Arrived at 12:50 pm Inquired about Jumbo Lump Crab cake. I was told the only food available is what is on menu? Coming from Maryland and recently moving to Sarasota, I was excited to try the crab cake. I have only been here once before. I read the menu last nite. I didn’t see the Cottage Jumbo lump crab cakes were service 2 and after. Lost one customer, sometimes an exception should be made.

We love The Cottage. My family has been vacationing to Siesta Key for years and continue to come back. Not only for the food and atmosphere, but we will always ask for Joe to serve us!!

WOWWWW!!! If you are visiting or anywhere near Siesta Key, make this place a staple. This was our first time visiting the island and we went here for dinner. We had the short rib bites to start… I could’ve had 10 more they were SO savory and flavorful. My husband and I had the burger with fries - it was honestly the best burger we’ve ever had to date. I upgraded to the truffle fries as my side and they were a perfect balance. The drinks were delicious and the service was amazing. 10/10 recommend!!!

Been to The Cottage at Siesta Keys a couple of times have not been disappointed. The food has been excellent every time . Today took friends there for brunch it was excellent. Our waiter Shawn was truly excellent the manager Kyle made us feel like family really had a great time. It’s nice when you can go to a restaurant and always enjoy the food, waiters and managers. Don’t let me leave out the Jazz music that completed it all.

Had a wonderful meal midweek. Sat outside in the tiki hut front, kept comfortable with the various fans. Service was attentive. Peruvian chicken was cooked perfectly and was full of flavour. Lobster roll was well presented and tasty.

The service was great as usual. The food was very good. I had the short ribs, they were a little bit dry and not quite as good as I was expecting. The mashed potatoes were amazing. It was a little bit loud, but to be expected. It was a very busy Saturday night.

We really enjoyed our meal. The staff were extremely nice. They don’t take reservations, but the wait was only half hour. It allowed us to take a brief stroll around Siesta Key. They text you when your table is ready. The Crab cakes and Calamari were delicious appetizers. Note, that one of the sauces they give you with the Calamari packs some real heat. The standout dish by far was the risotto with scallops. We’re foodies and this dish may be one of the best risotto I’ve ever tasted. It’s a little pricey, but for us, the combination of the delicious food and the great atmosphere made it well worth it . We recommend this place

This is such an interesting place on siesta key. The courtyard is lovely for older friends to get together. ..other section was too busy, too loud.

We usually go for dinner, which is always great! We went for brunch today and the salmon bruschetta was the best I’ve ever had! Everyone else loved their meals as well.

We always opt to sit on the front porch. It is the perfect spot to "people watch" and enjoy great food and drinks. The menu is a little unusual from the basic pub food but I can guarantee you will find something delicious. Staff is pleasant and attentive. Go off hours to get a seat quick. They don't take reservations.

Joe D greeted us with a chipper attitude this morning. Brunch was delicious - as is everything we’ve had so far at The Cottage over the years. Hubs had the spicy bloody mary & I the Turmeric Sunrise with Tito’s added to it because, well, brunch without (real) booze is just a sad, late breakfast. Get in there on the weekend to show them some breakfast love!

Portions are smaller, service is alright but atmosphere in cozy backyard is great.

Love this place. Great menu and food. Service is good and the atmosphere is really nice. A great place to take the family for a nice evening out. The billionaire burger and truffle fries are quite good and the Lobster Maki Roll is the best sushi I've ever had. A definite recommend when in Siesta Key! UPDATE: Came back 6 years later and it's still AWESOME! One of my favorite restaurant's, period! Had the Lobster Maki Roll again and truffle fries. We had 6 people in our group and everyone had great things to say. This is a must-go in Siesta Key!

Loved the back patio outdoor seating w music playing. Was spring break and very busy so the service wasn’t partially attentive or fast. She seemed overwhelmed, but we were in no hurry. The food was great and drinks tasty. Our favorite was the short rib tapas appetizer and shrimp appetizer.

We had an amazing time celebrating our son and his soon to be brides engagement during spring break 2024, a very busy time of the year on the island . The manager, Kyle provided an experience that was amazing . He reserved an area in the patio for us, adorned the table with beautiful settings and a gorgeous flower arrangement . This place is our favorite spot in Siesta Key. Food is fantastic, the service is friendly, and the management is fabulous. The Manager Dante went out of his way, helping us with our Sons 1st bday dinner this evening. It’s no wonder this restaurant is always busy, such great people taking care of their customers.

Dining at The Cottage was a culinary delight from start to finish. The mussels were plump and flavorful, the tuna tacoshimi was a perfect fusion of freshness and crunch, and the short rib bites were tender and succulent. Courtney, our waitress, was incredibly attentive and friendly, enhancing the entire experience. I can't wait to return for another memorable meal.

Soooo….I want to first say we dined here on spring break. April fools was on is this year. We were told upon arrival we would have a 40 minute wait. We thought okay that a while but we will shop around and make the best of it. Shopped for 40 minutes my husband started getting anxious so we walked over to check in. Well to our surprise they had a table open and we were about to be seated when a woman ran up and said, “I got a text my table is ready, don’t give my table away!” So they gave her the table and told us to wait. Wow. Ok. We expressed that dinner was in honor of. My late mother in law and that we were there to celebrate in her honor and we hoped for a very special evening. Another 40 minutes passed we were really starting to feel like we weren’t going to be seated and in no way felt like a priority. My husband goes back up again and politely asks they said oh my finally we have a table. We wanted to sit out back to enjoy the live music. We were seated in the back corner we could hear the music but we couldn’t view the entertainer. It was cozy but, “nobody puts baby in a corner.” Our waitress was sympathetic to our situation and she was kind and energetic. She recommended the grouper, I asked her if it was spicy she said not really..spiciest thing ever! I couldn’t finish it. I hated to be a bother but I had to get another dish as there was no way my stomach or tongue could handle that. I got the maki roll it was ok at best and way overpriced. The manager was kind and said it was too spicy for his palette as well. My son had the fillet and french fries. He said it was just all right. My daughter had the Maki rolls. She loved them and my husband have the grouper sandwich. He said it was ok at best. We had some piña colada‘s. They were very strong and half melted. After we got our food, I waited for almost 15 minutes before the waitress returned to the table for me to even let her know that I needed to order some thing else my husband actually got up to find her to let her know of the situation, and the manager came out to address it and brought me a new dish. The hostess was stressed out. She repeatedly apologized for not being able to seat us for so long, but I do think that she forgot about us a few times. All in all the experience was not great they did what they could but for a $215 meal for four people I am going to say money is better spent elsewhere. The experience was frustrating. Our server was super nice about everything and the manager was helpful just not the evening that we had hoped for. It is nice you can valet right there if you can’t find parking for five dollars and they were super helpful and Connor was really nice and had a lot of tips for us for the area. I would likely not return here, but do you think that this visit was circumstantial.

The food and service were both wonderful. The wait is long, but worth it. To avoid a wait, get here early. The back yard patio is beautiful.

So.. I arrived ahead of our group of 5 for dinner at 530pm. Plan to get on list early. No reservations. Spring break. I get all that. They said 35 minutes. I waited over 2 hours to be seated for a medium quality meal. Spent well over 200 dollars. The hostess was beyond clueless to tell us 35 minutes. I never would have stayed if told even slightly close to real time. It was nearly 4 times the time given simply due to lack of understanding of the place. They just had one alibi after another without the least amount of empathy. Take it or leave it attitude. It was crowded and spring break. Like I said, I get that but...they have to have some reasonable understanding of their restaurant. I have been a good customer for years. I will never go back.

Do not come here in the month of March. Staff is overworked and have reached the state of indifference/rudness. When one person in our party started choking and we asked for water he was ignored. When later and we were asked if we needed anything else ( still no water) we started with asking for a coke, she immediately turned her back and ignored us the rest of the evening. Why a 3 and not a 1. The wait staff tried to be helpful. Food is good but not worth being treated rudely for a night out

Average, no idea why people rave about this place. Went for the grouper dinner they changed the menu. Very expensive, even for Siesta Key . Over rated.

This unassuming restaurant and bar is a special find! Both the drinks and entrees are outstanding at a reasonable price. Add the friendly, attentive service and we'll be back again and again. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved The Cottage! We unfortunately had to wait much longer than what we were told and they made up for it with flying colors. The manager bought us a round of drinks and appetizer - which were all out of this world! The food, service and atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Such a great and fun spot! The painkiller drink is 100/10!

I spent a few hours hanging out on the beach and then treated myself to lunch at The Cottage because my companion was in a hectic meeting. How delightful that was! I placed an order for sangria and crab cake. I didn't want to eat off of my plate since everything was so beautifully prepared. However, I did. Every single mouthwatering bite. The service was excellent.

First time here in Sistta Keys and this restaurant. Service just ok and food on par with others this type. It is very expensive for what you receive.

We had spent the morning walking along the beach at Siesta Key and had built up quite an appetite. We had looked on TA before arriving and felt this restaurant looked great so were pleased to find it after our walk. It’s only a few yards from the main road going through the town. They have tables outside, on a covered deck and inside - we had a table on the deck, We only wanted a burger or sandwich so we were quickly able to see that a grouper sandwich would fit the bill. We chose it to be tempura battered and it came in a brioche style bun. Absolutely delicious and really quite filling. The fries were excellent too - my wife usually only eats a few fries with any dish but this time they all disappeared! Thoroughly enjoyed it and will return when we are next in town

Great menu options and the outdoor seating in the back is delightful. We had great service and just happened to be there when they were serving Patron margarita samples.

Stoped for lunch on my way out of town. Did not disappoint!! The wait staff was all great. I had the lobster bisque, the ceviche, and the watermelon jalapeño margarita. Best lobster bisque I've ever had! The ceviche was really good too, but should be served with tortilla chips. And the marg was really tasty. I had it made without agave because I don't like sweet stuff and this was delicious!!

What a lovely evening. The patio and soft music were delightful. Our waitress, Cecelia, was spectacular and all of her recommendations were spot on delicious. We had the Ahi tuna poke bowl, the best mussels in Sarasota, ribs and great wine! Thank you Cecelia!

I ordered a Sangria at the bar and it was in a small glass full of ice. Three sips and it was gone! $12 for 3 sips. The other drinks appeared a decent size

A bit pricey. Lunch for 4 140 bucks Minus tip. Wife had short ribs commented they were the worst she ever had. Had grouper sandwiche. A bit greasy. Drove a long way needless to say very disappointed.

We found this spot on Trip Advisor when looking for a place to eat lunch. It was initially a little hard to find as it is just off the Main Street by the area maps on the strip helped us find it. Service was quick and friendly, restaurant had a cozy cottage vibe inside and the food was very tasty. Highly recommend the burger with seasoned fries. The bacon onion jam on the burger is so good and the burger was nice and juicy.
