Overrated and overpriced. Such an odd location and dull ambiance as well.

Highly acclaimed Michelin-starred restaurant offers authentic omakase experience. Fish are flown in from Japan several times weekly to ensure only the freshest and finest ate served. The omakase is flawless from the beginning to the end. It was truly a delightful experience!

I wanted to enjoy The Den so badly. We have been to many Omakase dining experiences and we were in shock at how bad our time was here. The good: easy parking; Just valet at the hotel driveway. The service was attentive. They allow corkage at $60 rate. They had our family names printed on the menus. It was comfortable and pretty. The bad: the food... : We were four friends and all four of us had to push through each course. All the fish, with the exception of one course, was fishy and room temperature! I almost gagged on one of them. And after dinner, we went across to Forte de Marmi for a drink and chat. the rest of our party then confided that they too were struggling and not enjoying the fish presented AT ALL. I felt better that it was not just me, who was disgusted. We just didn't want to seem disrespectful to the chefs. For a Michelin starred establishment, I am so disappointed. For dessert, they served us each a plain honeydew wedge on the rind, just sliced... I'm not kidding. You would think there would be some artistry or something. When I went to the bathroom and walked back into the room, the room was SO fishy smelling (in a rancid way) that it was hard to relax. I don't know why the fish was not chilled more. Maybe they prepared it too early and left it sitting out, I'm not sure. But we just all feel like it was not worth it and wish we would've gone to The Sushi Bar, or Sushi by Scratch, or El Secreto. I don't normally leave negative reviews, so l'm embarrassed to post this, but for the price I feel the responsible thing to do is share this with others...:(

Only had time for one omakase in miami during my trip but very glad it was the den. Some traditional and some non-traditional pieces from omakase. This isnt the most nigiri focused omakase at all so expect more kaiseki dishes mixed in with the meal. More than your fair share of dishes.

The skin of the butterfish is overcooked. I was still starving after having two add-ons. I had omakase in this restaurant twice. The first experience was fantastic. The second one was nice, but the food is not as delicious as before.

June 2022: Beautiful and delightful experience, Chef Okawara is legit and his omakase fantastic. Very private and small room, aesthetically pleasing. Fantastic service.

Must go to if you visit Denver. Might be the best sushi I’ve ever had. Flown direct from Japan. You should try and sit at the bar and watch the chefs work their magic. Check photo for all my recommendations

Welp, we’ve just elevated in society! First time at a Michelin star restaurant and… just WOW. The customer service is what sets this place apart from the others. We felt very special by the constant warm smiles and the keen attention the servers gave throughout the entire experience. We felt like celebrities.

Absolutely 5 star in every way. My husband and I were celebrating our ten year anniversary and upon entering the host greeted us by my name (I still don’t know how he knew it) and told us happy anniversary. We got celebratory champagne and entered into the beautiful room. The chef is incredible and so kind. He explained every dish to us and told us how to eat each dish which I appreciated. We were served 21 dishes, all exquisite. Our favorites were the medium fat tuna and the warm dishes, but there was not one single thing that was below 5 star. My husband loved his sake tasting and I got the Koi, which was delicious. At one point I got a stain on my menu and within 20 seconds I had a new one. The whole team is great and everyone seems to love what they’re doing. Cannot recommend this experience enough!

Truly a phenomenal experience. Chef, was so humble, kind, engaging, loved what he does. Really takes time with you and your experience. You feel like you're dining personally with him. This place was incredible. Easily the best sushi I’ve ever had and one of the best dining experiences of my life. The sushi chef was beautiful to watch. Truly a master at his craft. The ambiance was warm and intimate and the staff was welcoming and accommodating. I highly recommend.

Amazing experience! One of the best Omakase dinner I had so far. The foods are amazing and enjoyable. The quality are fresh and with exceptional high standard. Cannot wait to go back again.

My fiancé and I went here while in Miami celebrating his birthday. We have done a few Omakase dinners in NYC and Philadelphia but this one was by far our favorite!! The room you’re in, the staff, the sushi (!!!) was absolutely amazing. Each piece was to die for. You will not regret this experience! 10/10

Loved our experience at the Den, you can understand why they received a prestigious Michelin star. The fish was perfectly sourced, well prepared and had excellent taste. The service was top-notch with great knowledge and experience by the team. The atmosphere, room and table is nice but probably a bit too large (counted 16 seats) for a real intimate experience. Perhaps we were unlucky as were sat next to a larger group of men on their boys night out, loud banter fine between bro's but maybe not for the romantic night out with the wife. That is the only slightly negative point to an otherwise excellent evening. With Hiden these two are a level above the rest when it comes to Omakase in Miami. Highly recommended.

Please take warm clothes !!! An exceptional culinary experience, highly recommended. Wrap up warm for the dinner as the room is very cold (expected for fresh fish)

I had a dinner here in August. OMG it was great. The sushi and all other dishes are one of the best I had. the chef is very diligent and informative if you ask him question. Service lady was also great. It is small place, cozy, and relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend. Go there before they increase price ( I hope not)

The Den is a separate room within the Azabu restaurant with a special set menu at a price of $ 250 - per person! So it’s really pricey, yet worth the money in our opinion: it was one of the best Japanese food experiences we ever had. The subtle tastes of the different fish courses all were amazing.

What a wonderful experience with the head sushi chef Atsushi Okawara and the whole team at the restaurant. We were visiting with our friends that are out of town. 100/100. Thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to the Den and cannot recommend the omakase service more. Okawara-san and his team of sous-chefs and waitstaff again impressed with a level of service and a selection of fish well above what is available elsewhere in Miami Beach. While the setting is relaxed and comfortable, the service is understated and very professional. The menu was interesting and presented beautifully. It is a top-shelf experience all around. Definitely our favorite Japanese dining experience in the area.

What a wonderful Omakase! We had such a great time in this intimate and beautiful location. The chef(s) are incredibly skillful and the menu was creative and unique. 11/10. I will be back every time I visit Miami.

Amazing service here at the Den. Head Chef Atsushi Okawara prepared an incredible spring menu. Some highlights were the Kohada(gizzard shad), Shima Aji( Striped Jack), Sakura Masu(Japanese Cherry Trout), and the Tuna Tasting. The menu is a blend of Edomae Sushi and Kaiseki, which I found to be a great blend! An absolute gem in Miami.
