Rustic setting and ambiance. Reasonably priced food and drink. Comfortable with a friendly staff. You will be pleased. Gets crowded during ski season. No reservation accepted.

We went to this restaurant for dinner and loved the cozy, unique atmosphere. The decor was charming and added to the overall experience. The food was good, with generous portions. A standout was the fresh, warm baguette served with whole roasted garlic, which we were asked to smash with a fork and mix with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt—an impressive and delicious touch. However, they don’t offer or make any mocktails, which was a bit disappointing. On the bright side, the waitstaff were friendly and attentive, contributing to an enjoyable dining experience.

waiter was very friendly & food was very good! i had the mussels & linguine with little necks. my boyfriend got the chicken marsala & he loved it. the bread with the smashed garlic was probably my favorite part though!! was visiting from out of town but when i’m up in vermont again i’ll definitely come back :)

Nice restaurant in Killington with good service

Ski season just ended things are kind of quiet in town. It is a perfect evening to enjoy a meal. A friendly hostess at check-in suggested I try the bar where they had several excellent tapas choices. Glad I did sit at the bar and enjoyed conversation with locals. The server had great suggestions and I started off with the house bread and roasted garlic. Excellent Italian red wine by the glass choices. Enjoyed an Italian sausage slider, then the tuna tartar. Well prepared and presented food!

We always love eating at the Garlic. There are no reservations so usually a line starts forming around 445 (depending on how cold it is!) to ensure a seat at their 5pm opening. There is also a bar area on the other side you can sit at. Our food was fantastic and Melissa our server was awesome with recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. She made our meal extra pleasant! The Garlic is always a must visit when at Killington!

TERRIBLE service, they treat you badly from the entrance, the plates, glasses, glasses and cutlery where they serve you are very DIRTY. I do not recommend it

I would occasionally dine at The Garlic until recently. Extremely disappointed with the rude and disrespectful behavior towards my 81 year old mother and I, particularly one of the female hosts and a male bartender. When I asked for a manager, I was told there was none, which explains a lot. We just left and spent our money elsewhere. I think someone in charge needs to know what's going on within their restaurant when nobody's there.

Always a good time great experience

Excellent service with very hospitable and friendly bartenders. The decor is lovely inside with garlic hanging everywhere. The food is delicious, I especially loved the garlic potato soup and penne alla vodka. It definitely gets packed after a ski day!

We go here every year. It's great. I love the Rack of Lamb.

If you're in the area, you must visit the garlic. I've been here a decade ago and it's just as good as I remembered. The place is also always packed on holiday weekends. We arrived 30 mins after opening and the parking lot was already full with an hour wait. Spent some time waiting at the bar and was seated promptly at 6:35pm. The food was delicious! The roasted garlic and bread is so good (though I did remember the garlic to be bigger). The portions are also big and we had leftovers which are conveniently packaged in aluminum containers for easy oven reheat.

The service was great. I'll be back for sure.

Food was excellent however, the wait is usually really long and it takes a long time to get a table. Lastly the bartender was very rude and did not let us split up our party to eat at the bar,but the manager was very helpful and accommodated us. kudos to the manager for taking care of us and handled it very professionally!

I went in and the first person that was there said you will have to wait for the maitre'd, which I did, ok waiting... When the Maitre'd showed up I said a table for three. Are they here, yes, they are trying to get in after trying to park and make it in, ( while I did not say this the other 2 are older). They have to be here, yes they are they are here, they are coming in. They have to be here,... They are. No they have to be right here in the building. Ok no seating because they are not in the building. Ok you should post this, but lets move on. I asked how many tables, answer, we cannot seat you because your party is not in the building. So let's connect the dots, if we cannot even have a conversation I can imagine how bad of an experience it would be if there was a problem with the food or the service. I do not blame the Maitre'd, she was young, it pretty much seemed this is a core Management problem. What is the problem? 1. Communication 2. The parking lot was subject to poor conditions and if we are going to have to wait for 1hr to get seated because others coming in with VT plates are under cutting you why am I waiting? 3. Consider other aspects that might be going(aka train your staff) When the owner or Manager sees this, don't blame the Maitre'd, take the blame on yourself. Giving you 1 star on service because it was from the above. 1 star for atmosphere because if this is the approach, well 1=1. Not rating for food because I will not get the "experience" of the food.

Mrs. B and I entered at 5:00 PM and sat at the bar. Nicki was right over to take our drink order and they were made perfectly. We had the Tapa's which were great along with the garlic and bread. This restaurant fills up, but the great service continues throughout you meal.

Have been coming here for YEARS— our favorite restaurant in Killington! Sitting in the bar is our favorite, fun + lively. The bread and garlic is to die. Must try some of the tapas— the olives and fried mozzarella are *chefs kiss. Have tried almost everything on the dinner menu and it’s all great depending on what you’re in the mood for. A cozy atmosphere with friendly and fun wait staff. It’s our go-to, always!

Wish I could have given 5 stars however 4 is pushing it. I tried this place twice before rating and both times the food was blah. The garlic served as an appetizer was the only thing I can say was great. The chicken Alfredo had almost no flavor. It was like warm milk with pasta. The chicken Parm was very dry with almost no sauce... the servers where very nice but one asked to take my plate before I was even done.

Enjoyed the Tapas menu and the Lamb was excellent. Ate at the bar and it was busy which was nice when dining alone. Nice beer and wine selection by the glass and a full bar.

The vibe here is good, and all of the servers are great, and we really liked the bread and appetizers, but the entrees were just not great. Huge portions but not good.

Oh the weather outside was frightful, the galic inside was delightful, let it snow let it snow, was a delighliteful experiance, food.... gourmet quality! Very nice to have Italian some were other than a pizza joint. So as the name suggests, there was garlic, everywhere, hanging from the ceiling stacked up in crates, even a free appetizer of a roasted garlic clove that you smash with your fork add olive oil spread like butter on the fresh bread provided. Awsome time! The resturant was a post and beam new england style place. Very cozy! Can get bizzy during ski season.

True Italian resturant on the road into Killington mountain. Cozy atmosphere great food! Also our server was top notch. Bring your taste pallet, and appetite, I found the portions to be generous.

We are huge fans of Italian food, so it takes a solid meal to impress us. This place nailed it out of the park. The atmosphere is quaint and unique, with good lighting. Start with the Grant Salad and the Harlet’s cheese. Both fantastic. The Puttanesca was amazing for the entree. The roasted garlic and bread that comes with the meal is also a stand out. Don’t pass by the place, stop and eat. You can thank me later!

For a place called The Garlic, I was sad that the bread and garlic were both cold. Overall dishes were great. The lamb appetizer was my favorite, which is why there's no photo. It was demolished before I even realized. The blueberry sauce and cheese paired with the tender and seasoned lamb lollipops perfectly. The puttanesca was also wonderful.

While visiting, I was told to go to this place and their pasta..and boy, I gotta tell ya. It's freaking awesome. The sauce was so creamy and rich, you can tell it was homemade. Here's a tip if you ever go there; when they give you the garlic with the bread, get a napkin and grab the garlic and squeeze until it falls apart on the plate. You then add a bit of olive oil or salt and mix it..you will have a damn good spread for the bread!

Had high hopes because we live 1/4 mile from THE GARLIC in New Smyrna Beach in Florida and the menu is almost identical. We decided to sit at the bar. We would have enjoyed a hello from the bar lady but she didn’t notice us for about 10 minutes. Food was great, as was the wine, but here’s where it went all wrong: there’s a menu, and there’s a tapas menu. We wanted the lamb chops, priced at $19 on the tapas menu and “market price” on the menu. Bar lady said to go with the menu instead of the tapas menu because there are 4 chops instead of 3 on the tapas menu. Done! Except when the bill arrived, it was $28 per order of lamb chops, and we’d ordered 2 orders. $56 for what we were led to believe would be $38. Not a life-wrecking event, but we got stiffed and it spoiled our evening.

Such a unique restaurant, decor is rustic and beautiful and their food is delectable. The garlic is clearly the freshest and marinated to perfection. We had the clams and fried mozzarella to start and the rack of lamb and sausage orecchiette. The wait staff was attentive and so kind. Will definitely visit again when we’re back in the area.

First of all, the place inside is charming. It's very apre ski. The food is delicious, and there is a good variety to choose from. Their Italian dishes are delightful. This trip I had scallop and shrimp scampi and it was delicious. My husband had steak, and he said it was done to prefection. Our son had chicken marsala, and it smelled wonderful. That's his favorite dish, and he said it was excellent. We started with Caesar salad, and the server brought us fresh baked bread with a whole head of baked garlic which we smashed into olive oil. There was parmesan cheese around the garlic head and when we added the garlic, it was perfect for the freshly baked bread. The wine was also delicious. Great place to go!

We found the Garlic to be somewhat disappointing. The entrance isn't clear, but it is off of a front deck that is packed with tables and chairs. Once inside, it is dark and difficult to see around the main room. We were seated in an adjoining room that had a table in the middle of the room for the purpose of holding 50 years of candle wax. This thing is weird and gross when you realize what it is. Service was pretty good. The waitress was really hustling but was always very pleasant. She was handling about 6 tables simultaneously. The food was ok, nothing bad. We had Chicken Parm, which was ok. The pasta was cold. They served a large bulb of roasted garlic that was interesting. In general, this was a notch above bar food, but it's disappointing if you are looking for a really good meal

Very crowded so we were expecting a good meal. We were wrong. Sat in the bar area and the roof was leaking on us. Told the waitress but nothing was done. Ordered chicken piccata and chicken Marsala. Chicken piccata was watery and had no flavor. Chicken Marsala was just ok. Not sure why it was so crowded Don't Go!!!

Went to this restaurant twice on my 2 day visit to Killington. Absolutely delicious food, Penne alla Vodka (no meat) and classic caprese. Tasted so fresh, pasta was so creamy. 10/10 for everything.

All I can say is they are very rude at this restaurant. The food smelled amazing but after 50 min we walked out. The hostess could help, but apparently she prefers to chase people away with additude.

Good dinner experience. Sharon was fun, a great waitress, and has a perpetual smile on her face.

Overpriced and overrated. A few greens and vegetables with no dressing or taste are called the ‘house salad’. Kids menu of pasta with meatballs was dry and distasteful and the main order we took was also hardly mediocre. In our experience this is a wannabe Italian restaurant, not even close to the real thing. Really disappointing!

We ordered Salmon, NY Strip Steak, Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Parmesan, Linguini and Clams, and Shrimp & Scallop Scampi. I had the Shrimp & Scallop Scampi that was to die for. I was a waitress in a seafood house for years and know how seafood should be cooked, and this was cooked PERFECTLY. Melt in your mouth scallops & shrimp!
