First visit. Pretty busy at 7 pm on a Saturday. We made a reservation but probably didn't need one. The server was personable and helpful. Recommend German potato salad and red cabbage salad.

Great place, and they stayed open for us. You can not get any better.

We were in town for a cycling event, hungry for dinner.. everything seemed closed… a beacon of hope happened as we were waved and invited in just before closing time, to share dinner with friends and a new acquaintance. THANK YOU for the delicious German themed meal, beer and dessert!! 5 stars from us! We will be back!!

The buffet was fantastic! Jagerschnitzel, spatzle, potato salad, just like Oma used to make!

Absolutely amazing! The jagerschnitzel and Rahmschnitzel both awesome! Ruben dip was awesome, pretzel was awesome. Definitely will be going back! And don't get me started on the Coconut Cream Cheesecake! Go there, now!

Potato pancakes are the best! We even got some to go for later. Come experience the best German food and save room for dessert!

A hidden gem in Cole Camp, Mo. You will not go away hungry. Authentic german food that will appeal to all ages. A day trip well worth the drive.

The food was terrible. Me, my brother, and my dad went there to see what this place was like and we agreed that it sucked and we could get the food individually from Walmart or any other convenience store like Walmart or Dollar Tree. The only good things that pleased us were the glass cups that not only are actually made out of glass but the glass being decently thick and the way the walls, ceiling, lighting, and seating is arranged and set. Otherwise, the place sucks

We have heard about this restaurant for some time, and we’re determined to try it. It is approximately a three hour drive from our home, and recommends reservations. We understand why. The atmosphere is an open, welcoming space, decorated tastefully with German pictures, steins, and collectibles. The menu has a wonderful assortment of German food, wine, beer, and desserts. Our choices were bratwursts, rahm schnitzel, sauerkraut, rotkolb (red cabbage), hot German potato salad, spatzel, potato cakes (with applesauce and sour cream), and green beans with bacon and onions. Bread is served with every meal. We shared a warm apple dumpling served with ice cream and caramel sauce. My husband enjoyed a mug of dark German beer (on tap) and I had fresh brewed ice tea. If your mouth isn’t watering by now, it should be! The service was friendly and efficient. Everything is homemade and delicious! If this is in driving distance for you, or if you’re traveling and it’s a Friday or Saturday, plan on making this a stop on your itinerary. You won’t be disappointed! We will definitely be returning! By the way, this little town is a gem of small shops and vintage stores!

the schnitzel is really good and the bratwurst the cheesecake is really good

Staff is friendly and attentive. My drink never went empty and the food came to the table fresh and hot. My side of cucumbers and onions were crisp and well seasoned. The apple dumpling was the perfect cap for the meal. Great small town restaurant with a warm and welcoming environment.

I hate to call them out on this but if you're a minority, don't expect any service. We had driven almost two hours to try this place. Not only was the service abhorrent, I will also review the food as well because we came for the food. My husband and I ordered an appetizer and two schnitzel dinners. We sat there for at least 30min and the appetizer never came out. My husband finished his beer and wanted another one, no one came by to check on us whatsoever. Finally they brought our schnitzel plates and the appetizer at the SAME time. Don't know if they know the etiquette of serving the appetizer before the meal but the appetizer must have sat there until it came out with the meal. I dig into my schnitzel which tasted like stale days old and heated from a microwave. Spaetzel was tiny tasteless bits, no butter flavor at all. The German potato was hard and no bacon in it. My husband's schnitzel had only a spoonful of gravy on top and he wanted a bit more. He waited and waited for the server to come by but each server just walked past our table without a glance. I told him to just get up and go to the back counter to ask for more, but he sat there trying to see if anyone would bother to come by. After 15 min I was really perturbed by him sitting there not able to eat his schnitzel without the gravy. I raised my voice to tell him to stand up to ask. The server behind the counter must have heard me because she leaned from behind the counter and asked if he's ok. He said no. Took another 5 or 7 minutes before the gravy was brought out. The server not once asked me if I needed anything. I actually wanted some hot sauce but I didn't bother since she really didn't want to serve us at that point. I also heard other servers asked tables around us if they wanted desserts. No one asked if we wanted desserts and I'm sure they didn't run out. Not sure what the hype is about the food because it's not fresh and low quality. And to combine with biased, selective service, that's worse than bad food.

It was without a doubt the WORST German food I have ever had. No flavor, the snitzle burnt, spaltze was dry. Must have been made in the afternoon and heated up on the grill. We have been to Germany and food was wonderful, this was awful. Beer was good.

Absolutely love this place. Customer service is amazing everybody is so nice. I get the knackwurst and spatzle and it is absolutely fantastic. Snickerdoodle cheesecake is lovely.

Another wonderful dinner. Went to the octberfest buffet and it was delicious. Ate way to much, love everything.

The place was very busy, but we were seated quickly, and our server (Sam) came quickly. She took our order, and we waited for drinks. Sam did not stop by our table, or even walk by it. Finally, after about 15 minutes, we flagged down another server, Olivia, who got our drinks. Three of us in our party ate buffet, one had a sandwich. We three were finished eating from the buffet, and had enjoyed a second visit, and had finished those second helpings. The fourth member of our party had not yet received her sandwich. Our server had not stopped to check on us, or offer refills of drinks, or take away used buffet plates. The owner finally stopped to clear our table, so we told her about the missing sandwich. She found it had been delivered to another table. The sandwich quickly came, but there was no meat on the Reuben sandwich. Called the owner over again, she quickly rectified the situation. Sandwich was comped.

Good local spot for some authentic German food. Very fitting for the German history that Cole Camp has. Prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. Also the kids meals for $6 are great and include the drink and a sundae.

A charming, simple small town restaurant. It was a buffet night when I went and everything was delicious.

Authentic German Food, Thick Steins of Beer, and Aurora of History The German Table is like a transporter. You walk through the old time screen door, with a simple front door and antique handle, and you've stepped back in time 80 years. The entirety of the restaurant is visible from the front door, and feels like you're standing in an old friends dinning room. Then you smell the building, thick with history and permanence, not musty or dirty; but that unique smell that comes from bricks, and plaster and wood floors that all seem to be older then your fathers grandmother. The menu is relatively simple. Several choices of Wurst (German Sausages) or Schnitzel (Meat thinly pounded and fried), with traditional German sides like German potato salad (a sweet potato salad, wich is what I had, and didn't realize it was going to be sweet, didn't like) and sauerkraut. My wife and I each had a Lager, served in a thick heavy stein. The service is good, the food is good, everything was good, but it's really the combination of everything the whole experience that makes The German Table something special. We came here after our youngest daughter played a softball game at the local school. If your in Cole Camp, don't pass through without eating at the German Table. It's on the left near the bank by the stop sign.

I am of German decent and this place is about as authentic as it gets. Pretzel and potatoe cakes are a must and you better wash it all down with a hand made apple dumpling. 5 out of 5!!!

Excellent food. The worsts are the bests! Great schnitzel, fried potatoes, green beans. You can’t go wrong here. Good selection of beers. Wines, not so much. Have a brew and a brat and go home happy!

First ever buffet was a hit. We have wanted to get here for awhile and my husband surprised me with a short trip to Cole Camp. The buffet had a bit of everything, two kinds of schnitzel, several kinds of wurst, red cabbage, hot potato salad, green beans and rolls. All excellent and reasonably priced. The buffet was a good opportunity to learn more about german food and find our favorites. We both ordered dessert and and if they had been very good the price would have been acceptable but unfortunately the cake was dry and the tort was bland. Overall though it was worth the 45 minute drive.

The service and the food was wonderful! The dessert can not be skipped. Fun time with special ladies having lunch on a shopping trip.

The food was amazing and great Bier too. Lovely atmosphere friendly staff and patrons. Little on the pricier side but well worth it. Highly recommend visiting this place and the little town.

We were promptly seated, but our waitress didn’t come to the table in about 10 minutes. We asked the hostesses to check on it for us. She said the waitress would be over immediately. We waited another 5 minutes with no response. We left after 15 minutes of no service.

First time to The German Table my wife and I drove from Kansas City just to eat here. Our fav German place closed up there and no real options now. So for our anniversary we made a lil road-trip. Made the reservation over the phone the lady we spoke to was super sweet. Got here got seated right away server was really nice and friendly. We got basically a lil bit of everything from a pretzel so good to Ruben dip then the mains was just as good I tried all the sausages and some sour kraut all was well worth the drive. We will definitely be back

Haven’t eaten at a German restaurant in years even though we have a strong German heritage. Surprisingly, the cucumbers and onions and German potato salad were made just as perfect as my Grandma’s. We had Jager schnitzel with spatzle and the local ‘BTF Bratwurst’ with sauerkraut. They make their own mustard, too…which was also delicious!! We don’t normally have dessert but couldn’t turn down the apple dumpling with ice cream and bread pudding. We were so full but it was worth it!!! Highly recommend even if you’re unsure about what authentic German food is all about. They have limited hours, so check their schedule before you go…but definitely go!

Want a German experience in rural mid-Missouri? If you are on Rt 65 between Warsaw and Sedalia, swing onto the Cole Camp exit and eat at The German Table. Four of us ordered four different dishes and there was keine Enttäuschung (no dissapointment) among all of us. We all remarked about the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. Sehr gutes Essen! The dessert selections were also wunderbar! Geh einfach!

This is a great place to eat! There's a big delicious difference between local, owner operated places and corporate, franchised eateries. The menu changes weekly between Italian and German. While both are wonderful you might call ahead to be sure what will be featured, but it's all good. Service, atmosphere and the food all rate a wunderbar from me!

Simply AMAZING food!!! I moved to Sedalia 4 yrs ago, and heard about this restaraunt. I just learned that Sam is my cousin through the Gliedt family in the last 3 years of living in Sedalia. I have eaten German food before, but no one's food compares to Sam's cooking! We had a German man in Jefferson City, Mo that owned a German Restaraunt there. It DOES NOT compare to how AMAZING The German Table's food, service, and cleanliness!!!! I will be back again and again!!!!!! Thank you Sam!!!!!

My wife lived in Germany for years and insisted we come here. We were partially skeptical if the food would be authentic... oh man, we were in for a treat! Definitely suggest the Jaeger schnitzel, and the cream of asparagus soup was amazing!

Amazing! This was our first time there and we happened upon The German Table by chance. Wonderful service, wonderful customers, very family friendly atmosphere, we couldn't have asked for more. We will be back! This was by far the best German restaurant we have ever eaten at.

We drove down for a day outing. They don't open till 4:30 PM on the weekend so we checked out the town and had a great day. We returned for dinner and were treated to a great german meal from appetizer to dessert truly a delicious meal. You won't be sorry about this great place to eat! Old school mate Gregg Cole and his wife are on point in a quaint and fun town! Check it out!!

My father, his wife and I just came back from this place and all I can say is WOW! It was incredible! The service was great and the food was wonderful! I had the schnitzel with cheese, spatzle, red cabbage and then apple dumpling with ice cream for dessert! Incredible place and wonderful ambiance. Hopefully when COVID ends, this place will be open more often, beyond just Fri and Sat. This style of German cooking is becoming more of a rarity in America. Come on people, let’s support a phenomenal restaurant. We drove over an hour each way and it was well worth the drive! Thanks for the great evening.We will be back! —-William

The food was delicious... I miss Germany and this is the closest I've gotten to authentic German food here in the US!! The Rahm Schnitzel with German Potato Salad is what I got. So amazing! I highly recommend this place. And the wait staff is awesome, especially Elizabeth! I can't wait to come back!

We heard an original owner of the original German restaurant in Cole Camp had opened in a new location. Decided to give it a try. The place is clean and appointed similarly to a German Wurst Haus. I ordered the BYF sauasage plate with German potato salad and green beans. Food was very good, reasonably priced and the service was appropriate. The BYF sauasage is locally produced, an added bonus. Great place, overall. I'll return, when in the area.

My wife and I had a date night at The German Table. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared a delicious salad and my wife had the loaded black forrest ham baked potato.I had the pork Jaeger Schnitzel. Finished it all off with a carrot cheesecake. The food is "AMAZING"....we will be back!!
