Great outdoor dining, great for families

Great place to grab lunch. This place only has outdoor seating, but they are covered. The food was great, try the hummus and fresh pita chips, it was delicious. We also had the shrimp tacos, which we split due to the amount of food. I would recommend The Gulf as a must try while visiting Orange Beach.

No more relaxing place to eat in the area. The burgers, the grouper sandwich--all excellent. Loved the loaded fries! Service is friendly, helpful. We love the couches to sit on, relax, eat, visit.

What a cool spot to dine! The atmosphere was awesome. Day time you have a great view, night time they turn on the string lights and it’s a more intimate hang. The mahi tacos were absolutely divine. The hummus pita was a great snack.

Justin, Lindsey, Kelly, and Jarred go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcomed! I always know when ordering food through them at the bar, I will not have to stress about the food served with my shellfish allergy. They make sure the food is prepared in a separate kitchen away from the allergens. One of our favorite places to visit in the Gulf Coast.

If you're in the area, you have to try The Gulf! Exceptional food, phenomenal service, and a view that's unbeatable! Check out Kate and Lexi in the shop for some neat souvenirs!!

Best Mahi tacos I have tasted in the area. Very good Poke bowls and the margaritas are very fresh and authentic tasting, they definitely don't use the bottled mix. Try the jalapeño margarita, very good!

Absolutely LOVE The Gulf! The views are to die for, drinks are super refreshing, and the retail store is adorable! Kate and Lexi are very welcoming and helpful!

Great place to hangout they have a few firepits and I think they have live music sometimes. We came here when my daughter was visiting she really liked it.

It was very pretty there.... We got the lobster shrimp roll and I wish it had more flavor.

Great location, self order at the bar, find your own table ( make sure to check it is level and stable!) Food delivery is fairly quick and my order was excellent. Unfortunately, not so for my friend's meal. Mentioned the poor quality at checkout and they comped her meal with no issue..

Loved the atmosphere right on the water, watching boats go by. The drinks were good, the truffle fries were awesome, the tuna dip was not what I expected but it was good, the lobster shrimp roll was disappointing. I saw so many people say it was good and a few say it wasn’t but it wasn’t. More shrimp than lobster I think I had one small lobster Chunk on my half the flavor was ok but eh and it’s served cold, which judging by the pictures I had assumed already but I’d skip it next time and try something else.

My wife and I have been coming to The Gulf restaurant for six years. Today's experience was above and beyond any previous visits! From the cashier, Asst. Mgr, servers, and Manager Cody to the Kitchen Manager Mike! The entire experience was a 10! Mike, the Kitchen Manager, was made aware that we eat gluten free so he asked more questions and gave a few suggestions and invented a custom dish to both of our liking. Mike, the dish you made was a real labor of love and a true masterpiece!! This is a great example of customer service above and beyond all that a customer could ask or think! Thank you Mike and all the crew at The Gulf. You rock!!! Brian and Gina

Service was fast. Eric was so upbeat! We got the shrimp taco's, cauliflower, guacamole with chips and the smoked tuna dip. It was all amazing. Everything tasted so fresh. Highly recommended and if in the area again will most definitely stop.

Ordered the lobster and shrimp roll. Was a little skeptical on order something with lobster in the first place but nothing else really stuck out too me. The only thing that made it somewhat worthwhile were the fries, but other that that there wasn’t anything note worthy or at least in a good way. They could’ve slapped some of that bag tuna from the local Walmart, and I think it would’ve been better! Just a little disappointed. My friend said that the Snapper BLT was pretty good though.

Wow this shizz is romantic. I took me gf here and we both loved the atmosphere, the fact you can hear waves crashing while you eat on a dim lit beach. Get that blood pumping fool. Take your lady here, and end up with another kid... facts

Good food, pretty expensive, small portions. Got 2 of the lobster and shrimp rolls with fries… $26 each. Got the grilled fresh catch flounder salad. Small piece of fish and not very exciting salad View is beautiful All outdoor Bathrooms are like a fancy port a John, but in a container as well… it was clean and air conditioned

Friendly bar staff, and great food in a comfortable outdoor setting. There are a couple bars, and then a ton of seating options. Although you order food at the window outside from a giant chalkboard menu, it is a bit fancy. Servers will bring your food to you wherever you sit. You can order at the bar if you sit there. Grouper sandwich was terrific, fresh catch was AmberJack, and that was good too. A bit expensive, but the atmosphere, view, and delicious food made it worthwhile for sure!

Best ambience, food, vibes, people. Everyone that helped us was absolutely amazing. The citrus teriyaki salmon was legit best salmon I've ever had. SHOUT OUT CHEF ROB!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Also Kelsey made the best drinks and brought the best energy and smiles

We've visited this location multiple times and I would strongly recommend visiting this spot earlier in the evening. We arrived a few hours before close and the food was not as good as the previous time we had visited. Street Corn was served cold everything else was warm at best, fries were fresh. Drinks were very off, carbonation in fountain drinks made them hard to consume and sweet tea was soured. We've recommended this spot to many people as we've been in town, this visit just missed the mark. We will definitely be back, we will just be certain to arrive earlier in hopes of duplicating our first visit that made us love this spot.

Beautiful setting, right by the water. It is outdoor dining only, very casual, picnic tables under palm trees with string lights on the sand or grass. Very industrial modern vibe as the bar, restrooms and ordering area/kitchen are all made from shipping containers.

Really cool spot with great music and activities for the kids to do. The food was brought to us pretty quickly despite it being a packed Friday night, but the wait in line was quite long (moved really slow). I got the Mahi Mahi tacos and they were just alright, not excellent. Very limited menu and not a lot to choose from for the kids, but still a cool little place.

Had a great experience at The Gulf. Food was amazing, so worth for the price. I loved the idea how they had tables in the lounge, boardwalks even picnic tables on the sand. My friends had seafood boil and burgers which they loved. I myself had lobster rolls and am satisfied with mu choice. Great selection of dessert choices as well. Service was great. Special thanks to Eric btw. I would return again definitely! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Gulf.. The outdoor restaurant with great ambiance! The white sand the water....beautiful! We just got in town and wanted a quick meal as all other restaurants were full.. 2 hour wait. Parking was perfect! Place was made out of shipping containers...pretty cool! This is what to expect...you'll stand in line to order. You'll make your own drinks! The menu is fairly small with a few interesting choices. Adult beverages will be to your right as you walk in. You'll be given a buzzer to places on table in the designated circle so hostess can find you when meal is prepared. The hostess was very sweet and helpful...A+ for her! Our meal.. Lobster and shrimp roll w/ fries. Chicken sandwich w/ fries. We wanted to try street corn and key lime pie as well. Lobster & shrimp roll was just ok! For the price more lobster would been great! Chicken sandwich..you can get a better chicken sandwich at chic-fil-a! Very basic...blan and dry! Our last two options turned out to be the best! The street corn was very good..messy get lots of napkins! And last the key lime pie was definitely a keeper. This meal for 2 ran in the $85 range and I'm never one to complain about price if food is on point! This was just my take on this day. You'll have to decide for yourself!

Britannia was excellent and made sure my order was perfect. Friendly, nice and a personality that makes you want to come back. Andrea was also a superstar! She saw I didn’t eat something, my own fault as I’m not a fan of mayo so she came over, let me know they could turn it into a bowl and made everything right as rain! A winning combo! First time in OB and The Gulf was our preferred hangout. We ate there several times and the Tuna Poke Bowl was our favorite…we could eat that everyday!!! The outside bar tenders/servers (Kelly & Lindsey) treated us like old friends, kept our drinks coming and filled us in on some local activities to check out while in town. Overall a Great Place with good food and great service.
